Today was surprisingly not the day she would spent the entire second inside the laboratory for once in her week. Like most people, Taealha too, got her own cheat day. Though, it usually doesn't consist of eating too many in one day without dieting because the human simply knows no boundaries when it comes to food, delivering one clear message most of the time; she wasn't going to do any dieting session at all. No, her cheat day consists of tossing her lab coat on the rack and checking out for the day early so she could spend the day doing whatever she wanted to do, may it be shopping or just lounging back at home eating a full tub of Ben & Jerry's ice cream while binge watching her favorite Netflix show. It was also the day where she didn't have to work on her research paper which is also another win. Don't get her wrong, she loves studying what she does but everyone needs a break sometimes and for someone who checks in the lab 6 days out of 7? She needs one off day.
It was no wonder Taealha had a stupid grin masking her features as soon as the clock struck 2 pm. The raven-haired female tossed her white lab coat and rolled her lanyard inside her bag before bidding a quick farewell to the others who just checked in for their shifts. She knew it would've been a waste of time if she had to return back to her apartment just to get a change of clothes so she made sure to bring them with her before going out for work earlier this morning. Rushing over to the spare room where she was given to do most of her work, she closed the curtains and locked the door before unzipping the bag to reveal the outfit she chose for the day. It was a slightly white ruffled mesh blouse paired up with her black skater skirt. She changed her comfortable sneakers to a pair of high heel boots that traveled all the way up to her knees. Her outfit as a whole accentuated her figure and left a small imagination to mind as the preppy mode sets in.
Taealha clasped a few jewelry and accessories on her, from her multiple ear piercings to her necklace and bracelets. Before making sure she was done, the human pulled the scrunchie holding her hair up in a bun, subsequently unravelling her dark locks as she beamed with pride that the curls cascaded perfectly. One look at the mirror to double check her reflection was all she needed before making her way off. She also wore a beret she recently got a few months ago, never getting the chance to wear them due to her busy schedule. Regardless of her current state, Taealha is a warm and friendly person so it was no surprise that she would be greeted by a few local residents in the area, most of them complimenting her outfit and asking how she was faring. A few hours walking around after stopping by the orphanage to teach them sign language for an hour, she returned to the streets. Her hand was busy scrolling her screen while her eyes remained fixated on the phone, counting the steps she took unconsciously with a sound mind, until her eyes fell on the beautiful sunset.
Her eyes widened considerably as she gaped at the beautiful scenery, the phone in her hand no longer occupied her attention but had served her as a tool to capture this moment instead. So she did, she took a few photos of it but wished there was one of hers too. It's been a while since she updated her social media too, much less take a few selfies. Her eyes searched for a passerby who could help her and saw a female standing by not far from where she was at, Taealha rushed over to her direction and tapped softly on her shoulder while wearing a bright smile but not before she texted the message she wanted to say, "Hi, do you mind if you take a photo?" Her eyes were glistening with plea, really wanting a picture or two of herself with the sunset. Who knows when she'd get to go out at this time of the day again? The stranger was the same height as her, though she assumed that since she was wearing heels, she towered about a few centimeters above the other female. But then she quickly typed another message underneath the notepad, "If you can't, it's okay, I'm sorry to have bothered you."

Ivy wished she had more free time on days like this, it reminded her that there were real people around her that she could get to know, sometimes she felt like she lived in this bubble where she was only supposed to talk to other famous people, which was a dumb thought but they seemed to be the only people who treated her like she wanted to be treated, like a normal person. That was why this meeting with Taealha was so different, she was fairly certain by now that she had no idea who she actually was and Ivy really liked that, she liked that there was nothing fake about Taealha’s like for her and that she felt like she could trust her already somehow. “Rare things are lucky to have huh?” she commented in response to the raven-haired female’s words and nodded her head slowly because she definitely resonated with that tonight “So if money wasn’t an object and you could own anything limited edition or one of a kind in the world, what would you pick?” she had asked so many questions and she still had loads more for her, she was just so endlessly curious to know more.
She pursed her lips slightly in worry as she saw the way she rubbed against her head on the spot where she must have hit the table but she let it go with an easygoing smile “You’re welcome” he typed back to her thanks, she loved giving gifts, even ones as simple as a cupcake, with her job and the attention she got from the media she had far more than she ever needed, she was sent free clothes and perfume and jewelry and while she donated a lot of it, sometimes it was nicer to give people things and see the way their face would light up receiving it. She laughed softly when she said she could step on her and she’d thank her, now that was the kind of fangirling she could really get on board with “Preferably in one of the many pairs of high heels from Supergirl” she giggled as she sent the message before following it up “Any other girl crushes? Or boy crushes if you haven’t totally given up on men” she noted that given their conversation earlier.
Ivy gave a nonchalant shrug “You gotta learn to survive when you live somewhere with animals and insects that could kill you in seconds if you aren’t careful” it was so drilled into her life that she didn’t bat an eye when she saw a cockroach or any kind of animal “The only thing that really freaks me out is frogs” she added and shook her head slightly, they were for the most part completely harmless and yet if Ivy saw one she would probably take off running. Everyone had their weird things “You’ve got spiders but that’s about common as common gets, any weird fears?” she raised her brows curiously. She couldn’t stop laughing as she pictured Taealha as some kind of raccoon queen who got overthrown because she was too naive to see their spiteful ways “Sorry I can’t stop picturing you in a crown sitting on your thrown and some cheeky trash panda comes along and steals it” she laughed a while longer wiping her eyes slightly, she hadn’t laughed like that in a very long time.
Taealha had this way of smiling really genuinely, to the point that her whole expression was overcome with the smile and it was really gorgeous to see, she found herself just staring almost in disbelief whenever it happened because it was so natural and stunning “Don’t worry I’ll keep your secret” she responded with a soft smile “And I’ll stick around for as long as you want me here, can’t have you getting undistracted” she grinned slightly as she sent the message. “I don’t think I’ve ever met someone so open with someone they just met before” she admitted in response to her comment about knowing more about her in 2 hours than others in years “Aren’t you scared that someone would hurt you?” she spoke it generally because the Initia found it hard to trust people and yet Taealha seemed incredibly trusting and she wondered whether that was a level of naivety or something else.
“I guess a part of me wanted to say, well if they’re too big for this place then I will go somewhere where they fit” she responded, nodding a little as she read how Taealha overcome her own experience with those comments and proved them wrong in the process “It must have felt good to be able to turn around and show them you had it in you” she prompted curious to know if Taealha had any more stories of her own about achievement, she certainly seemed to be the ambitious type. She noticed the way Taealha seemed practically bursting to reach for the plate so she nudged it towards her a little and smiled when she took it. She dropped her eyes to her phone screen between taking sips of her coffee, it was really good Italian coffee, she always loved it here and tried to come whenever she could “I think the whole point of a go-to movie is that it’s cliche, if you said something like Avatar I’d call you a liar” the ones people sat and played over and over again tended to be the stupidly cheesy ones, but it was interesting to know her own particular brand of cheesy “So you like ended up a sniffling mess huh?” she ran a hand through her own hair, tucking it behind her ear because it kept falling into her face.
"Rare things are only rare because it's limited. Purely exclusive. So that's a luck right there" she giggled, it was a weird way of seeing things but when it comes to Taealha, almost everything is weird. As weird as it can go. When she was asked what she would own if money wasn't a problem, that had her thinking for quite awhile because there was no hiding the fact that the human had a lot of things she wanted. "That Chanel coat from the latest edition" Well that took some time. She wasn't even being apologetic or shy about it. Hey, Ivy asked. She was just delivering her answer with pure honesty. "But I have a feeling money's not really a big thing to you, your clothes are all designer's, Ivy, who are you?" she teased, adding a playful investigative emoji to the end of the sentence. Surprisingly, Taealha did not recognize who she was on screen and off screen. It was just a cupcake but Taealha wasn't used to people giving her things, well there were certain cases of people leaving flowers and chocolates but most of the flowers were picked out wrongly which made her sneeze the entire day. She has nothing against any type of flowers but she could get a bit allergic to them.
"Oh gosh… I love her in Supergirl… I never thought a woman could look so hot dressed in a suit but hot damn" There was no end to her fangirling, it seems. Ivy seemed to understand the hype which had the female grinning sheepishly. It felt so natural being around her. "I'll be truthfully honest, I haven't given up on men obviously… I don't think I will, some men are just born devastatingly beautiful you just wanna stare at them all day. But I think I'm leaning more to the gal side, probably because they'll be able to relate to me far better than any man" Some are always attractive she couldn't help but stare in awe. "I have plenty of actresses I would give everything up for, so you're gonna need to give me time to make a list. And sometimes it's not even celebrities, Evermore is filled with a lot of attractive people it's unreal" The girl in front of her serves a fine example to that. Ivy was drop dead gorgeous. Even Taealha could see that.
Upon finding out that frogs scared the living hell out of her, Taealha grinned mischievously and played with her cup, "So you're telling me I can come up and scare you with frogs. Got it. Though it's probably not as bad as me and spiders." The human would actually scream out loud people would forget she's mute as she runs away from the tiniest one. Weird fears, that one had her raking her mind off searching for the weirdest scare she ever got, "I'm scared of garlic. Don't ask why… it's just… terrifying. The smell, the raw taste… and my eyes would cry…" she shuddered at the thought of it. Considering almost every food had garlic, she had to pouted a lot. She gasped when Ivy told her she pictured her getting overthrown by another trash panda, "Excuse you. I'm staying the Queen. I may not be able to do much but I will cut that trash panda for trying... " she dragged her thumb over her neck, indicating that she will get rid of them.
"You can distract me very easily, Ivy… it doesn't take a lot. Your entire being alone can distract me" Was she being cheeky? Perhaps. But she wasn't hiding that she feels strongly towards Ivy either. She's an attractive woman who managed to make her feel so happy and content in 2 hours more than anyone's ever made her happy in 20 years. "I don't trust everyone at first glimpse, Ivy. I may be a bit naive and perhaps I'll trust people that I shouldn't. But… if someone was to hurt me, I guess that's my fault. I should've been able to sense it earlier right? Besides, I'll get back up" she exclaimed dismissively. Taealha doesn't mind if someone wants to have a go at that but she wasn't about to give up either. "Are you? Are you afraid that someone would hurt you?" The raven-haired female nodded enthusiastically because it did felt good to prove to people she was more than what they thought she was.
Taealha didn't like bitter things too much in general so she spent the entire time putting sugar in her coffee, taking a few sips of her own and pulling a face every time she knew it was still bitter. "If you were with me when we watch it, I guarantee I would be using you as my personal pillow and snuggle, you'll probably need a spare shirt too… because my tears would've been on you. What about you? What do you watch? And are you more of romcom girl or fantasy girl?"
“Exactly, they’re special, meant to be treasured and appreciated” she responded , scanning her eyes slowly over Taealha as she said that because she truly was a gem, so sweet and friendly while also being easy on the eyes, it was hard to believe she would be lucky enough to meet someone like that randomly passing in a park. She smiled brightly as she expressed her liking for Chanel and it was clear she had an eye for fashion, Ivy had an up and down relationship with fashion, brands liked to send her things to wear and she tried her best to pick out the pieces she liked most and wear them out, so she enjoyed fashion, she just didn’t always have the time or effort to invest into it “You have a keen eye for quality huh?” she smiled slightly, though she did wonder for a moment if she had recognized who she was “I like them, comfortable and good quality, can’t really complain” she responded with a nod “But you’d know too since you post pictures of yourself on Instagram huh?” people on there definitely liked to judge outfits and the likes.
Ivy laughed reading her comments about Katie’s role as Lena in Supergirl “There are some people who can make quite literally anything look good and she is definitely one of them, though I do have my bias towards those necklaces she wears in Merlin, so flattering” she grinned slightly as she pressed send and glanced up at Taealha “Well who could blame you for enjoying a little eye candy” she laughed softly “I mean my list is probably as long as yours, maybe even longer, though it’s entirely filled with women” she pressed her lips together after sending that because she hadn’t actually confirmed she was only interested in women before that. “You know I actually don’t get out in the city enough to confirm or deny that, I usually avoid people at all costs on my days off” she added a blushing emoji to the end and shrugged her shoulders slightly, just not really the kind of person who enjoyed being surrounded by others she supposed.
Ivy actually shivered the moment Taealha said she would scare her with a frog “I swear if you bring one of those slimy things even close to me I will never recover” she widened her eyes a little because she really did hate them “They freak me out with their weird moments and horrible sounds and the way they can move so suddenly” and don’t even get her started on how frogspawn looked absolutely disgusting to her. “So neither of us would fare too well at one of those exotic animal centers they have then” she added and laughed, the kinds of places that brought out snakes to hold and the likes. She did pull a surprised expression when she said she was afraid of garlic though “So you could be a vampire then” she teased as she gazed back at her “Doesn’t that mean you need to cut Italian food pretty much entirely out of your life?” she pouted a little because she loved Italian dishes and couldn’t imagine being without it. She scrunched her nose as she laughed at the message Taealha sent about fighting the trash pandas to keep her crown “Damn, so you really enjoy things that sparkle then?” she hadn’t failed to notice all the accessories and jewelry which Taealha paired with her outfit, they suited her well.
Her lips twitched into a smirk when the other girl said her presence alone could distract her “Oh wow, am I really that talented?” she responded as she glanced up at her, admittedly she was a celebrity, she knew she was attractive and there was little point her denying that, she’d even read the comments made about her looks online a few times before eventually deciding to swear off that completely because it was a dangerous hole to dive into. She read her messages about the way she trusted which made the Initia curious, it didn’t feel to her like there had been any hesitation in Taealha when she agreed to come here to this cafe with her “So what you’re saying is that I’m special?” she chuckled gently but quietened at the next question before nodding slightly and then typing out her reasoning for feeling like that “I feel like every time I’ve let someone into my life they have ended up wanting something from me or caring more about how much money they have than me” she pressed her lips together for a moment as she lifted her vulnerable-looking gaze for a few seconds.
She did have to laugh when she saw the way Taealha loading up all the sugar she could find into her coffee and still managed to pull a face when she tasted it “Not a fan of coffee?” she asked softly as she sipped at her own, she loved the stuff, Starbucks was one of the places she very regularly found herself showing up to. After she finished her sip she set down the cup and read her next messages about cuddling up and sobbing to the movie “Cute” she responded with a grin “Not everyone is so willing to show their emotions” she admitted and smiled “It’s nice that you seem so open with yours, besides, I have quite the extensive wardrobe a few tears are no match” she was literally told by her publicist not to wear the same thing twice, it was a real pain. When she asked her the question back she laughed “Gosh” she responded because it was such a big question for someone like her “Well I do love the classics, Titanic, Forrest Gump and those kinds of movies and I’m a sucker for animation too, so Disney movies managed to climb the list but” she pressed her lips together “My favorite is definitely The Breakfast Club” she nodded a few times before answering the other question “I’m a movie girl, I don’t think there’s anything I won’t watch” she responded with a smile, she just enjoyed cinematography in many forms and could enjoy most genres “So if you had a full afternoon to spare and do whatever you wanted, what would you do?” it was rare to have that kind of free time so she was curious what she would do with it.
"You seem to have a similar understanding when it comes down to that philosophy, is there something else about you that you're hiding because I feel like you're a big closet of wondrous personas, I'm saying this in a good way, of course" On the first glance, she wasn't sure if she'll be able to see the woman she sees now. Ivy certainly doesn't give the look but when you talk to her, the energy she exuded just eats every doubt away. "I know a quality when I see one, I'll proudly admit that one. Just like how I know if that someone is being sincere" From the outside, she may not look the part but Taealha certainly pays a lot of attention. To the people she meets, even if she couldn't figure them out fully at first glance. She's a human, after all. She was bound to make mistakes. "Well, by all means, Miss, feel free to come and follow me on Instagram" she winked playfully, Ivy wasn't wrong, Taealha spent a lot of time on that app. Aesthetic pictures are basically her entire moodboard.
"I remember when they said I was just going through a phase when I went heart eyes for Morgana Pendragon" Admittedly she was head over heels then but it didn't stop her from fangirling just to spite them. Her eyes widened slightly as she parted her lips upon hearing from the Initia that her list were fully comprised of females, "Oh... " It didn't help that the blush was setting in too clearly. Her ears had turned reddish and so did her cheeks. "I mean, I don't blame you, women are a gift to mankind. I can say the same too." The human nodded her head in understanding, some people prefer indoors and while she wasn't one of them, she didn't usually have the time to revel. The way Ivy seemed to show her disgust over frogs had her giggling because even then, it was really funny, "I think if you brought spiders to me, I would just scream so loud and tell you I never wanted to see you again. My classmate once did that as a prank… I fainted so."
Suffice to say, after she woke up, she made sure she didn't want to see her again because it was an extreme phobia for Taealha, people making fun of that and not respecting it had no place in her life. The mention of Italian prompted a cute grin to surface, she shook her head and placed her chin above her hands while staring at Ivy with a smile, "I take my medication. Garlic makes me feel itchy but if I really crave them, I'll just have my medication with me. It's like telling lactose intolerant people to swear off dairy for life, Ivy, chances are high that it'll fail" she swiped her tongue to wet her bottom lip and smirked, "I appreciate the compliment, I heard vampires are renowned for their beauty" Not long after those words were uttered, Taealha stumbled into a world of laughter.
"I like things that will take your attention, and diamonds are beautiful. So delicate yet so tough." She aspired to be someone like that, one day. "Very" she nodded with a wry smirk when Ivy wondered if she was really that talented, "Distractions don't come easy to me. I always put my focus on one thing only, multitaskers hate me. The last time I tried to make omelette while ironing my clothes… didn't turn out too well" She could handle a burnt egg, but never her clothes. "You're very special if you managed to keep me talking with you in a cafe more than 2 hours and still have me wanting to spend another hour after another. I'm a picky girl." She desperately wanted to give her a hug the moment her eyes met her vulnerable looking ones. "They're idiots then. They don't know real value."
After a few attempts to get the coffee to sweeten itself, Taealha could finally drink them with ease, "Not really. I have a sweet tooth." The way she listed out her faves made her wonder what it would be like to watch a movie with the Initia, "A Titanic girl… likes Forrest Gump and lives on The Breakfast Club? Oh wow I may just fell for you even more" she teased, the next question made her ponder as she stopped halfway trying to drink her coffee, "Not gonna lie… I would go shopping. I love shopping a lot. I may as well turn out to be a shopaholic. Then I'd probably head over and play Santa… what would you do? Who would you spend it with?"
Ivy pressed her lips together as she read the message about how own morals and philosophy “I don’t think it takes too much to want to see the best in the world” she responded honestly, besides, wanting to see the good in the world and actually seeing it were different things, she tended to latch onto things she deemed as special because they felt rare to her in a world which surrounded you with pretenders. She smiled softly at the way Taealha explained that she could see quality quite easily “I’m not the type to want to show off or anything but I like really well made and well thought out clothes, expensive or not” she explained and nodded slightly, she wouldn’t buy or wear something just because it was a certain brand but she did agree that a lot of those labels made very flattering and well-made clothes. “I’d be honored, I can be your 1200001st” she responded with a laugh remembering the number she had told her from earlier, damn she was still impressed by that, along with many things about Taealha.
“Katie McGrath is never a phase” she responded and then giggled softly the moment she sent it, for her it was celebrities that had made her first realize that she found women physically attractive, it had taken her much longer to realize her own like for them outside of watching films or TV but now she was pretty sure she had a grip on her own tastes and sexuality. She widened her eyes a little when Taealha responded with an ‘Oh’, her cheeks flushing a little as she wondered if she admitted too much. She thought she would understand given that she had already admitted she had a like for women. When she followed it up with another message Ivy let out a breath of relief though “Women are indeed a gift, soft skin, perfect lips and they always smell so good” she laughed after she wrote that but she wasn’t lying, perfume always smelled amazing to her. She shook her head a little in disbelief at the way Taealha described her fear of spiders “Gosh so no plastic spider pranks huh?” she acted as though she was disappointed, her love for pranks was a whole different story though, mostly reserved for the earth Initia master.
She grinned to herself when Taealha admitted that despite her allergy she tended to eat it anyway “So you’re crazy basically” she responded and gave a playful roll of her eyes “Well at least you don’t have to give up Italian food forever because I swear that sounds like the saddest story I have ever heard” of course she was exaggerating but everyone loved Italian food, didn’t they? Ivy knew she could eat a lot of pasta at least, especially when it had a really rich sauce, her mouth was watering just thinking about it. She laughed too when Taealha made a joke about vampires and their beauty, it didn’t answer her question about whether the other girl knew about the supernatural but it was a fun sentiment “Or maybe that’s a rumor the vampires created to boost their ego” she responded with a detective emoji and grinned slightly.
“They suit you” she replied without hesitation when Taealha typed about how she liked things which shined and sparkled “I feel like I look strange with anything too flashy, though that might just be my minimalist style than anything” but then she was pretty sure that Taealha could make quite literally anything look good anyway. She was chuckling while she read Taealha’s story about cooking and ironing and ending up with one of them burnt “Well I’m glad you didn’t burn the whole house down with that” she covered her mouth with her hand while she laughed softly “But damn, that’s kinda reckless, not something I was expecting from you” then again they were consistently surprising one another tonight it seemed. “Oh really?” she responded when Taealha spoke about being special because she was still here “Are you sure it wasn’t the bribery of sweets?” she added to the end and lifted her gaze to give her a questioning look.
She let a soft, genuine smile cross her lips when Taealha said they didn’t know the real value, it was really nice to have someone say that she was worth it and while her worth wasn’t defined by others by any means, the compliment meant a lot to her. “But if you don’t like coffee then what do you drink to help yourself cope with late nights?” she laughed softly, she wouldn’t be surprised if the other girl responded that she ate chocolate to get her fix. She laughed at the way Taealha responded to her list of movies “The fact you know and seem to have seen them all is definitely a very good start” and certainly made her feel like she could have a lot in common with the raven-haired beauty. She smiled when she said she would go shopping with a free afternoon “I enjoy shopping, though I have to have something in mind to buy or else I’ll come home with so much random crap I don’t need” she laughed softly “I think you’d love my closet” she added to the end with a giggling emoji.
When she returned the question to her she pondered it for a moment pressing her lips together before typing out a response “I’ll turn off all the lights and make my room into a massive cinema with snacks and movies and extra pillows” she laughed softly and shrugged “Which is probably something I’d do alone but I could be convinced to share my fort” she lifted a playful gaze towards Taealha after she sent it, to imply with her.
"Well, you've surely shown me exactly why it matters to wear how the person fashions it. That's why people can't wear everything and make it look good, no matter how good looking they are." Taealha found that while she was still studying, it was why she was also very selective on what she wears. "After all, what you wear and how your dress up reflects on your personality." The human sported a lot of bright colored clothes to fit herself, namely pink most of all. And it works seeing as it was also her favorite color. "Please, the honor is mine" she giggled. "True that, how can people even say that woman is just a phase, it's been years already and I'm still sure I'd turn my entire world around to cater to her." Hey, if she finds them desirable, there wasn't anything Taealha wouldn't do for them. Now that she had a clear grip on Ivy's attraction towards females were pretty much pointed on the spot, Taealha's blush went significantly darker because that's basically admitting a lot. Was Ivy attracted to her the same way she found the Initia admirable? She wonders.
When Ivy described why women are a gift, she swore her breath hitched, how is it that someone could make it sound so appealing like that? "How are you able to say all that without… blushing... " She had to know how because the human was pretty much pressing her hands to her cheeks to suppress the blush and perhaps, an accidental squeal from coming out too. "Unfortunately not when it comes to spiders, I would so hate to glare at you for scaring me like that. But other insects are pretty much pliable." An offended gasp escaped her as she pressed a hand to her chest while feigning offense, "Excuse you, how is it crazy if I'm risking for food… when it's worth it, it's worth it." The raven-haired female had a certain love for some things and jewelries as well as food seemed to make the pick too. "I live for the cheese, anything that has cheese can go straight into my heart. Every time I have them, I swear I fell in love. Again."
The talk about supernaturals had her interest piqued and she wondered if Ivy is one. She didn't bring her device with her today. Perhaps another time. "I mean if that's a rumor vampires do to boost themselves, I guess they need some loving. So why not? Every creature on this Earth is beautiful in their own way. Every being." She may have stared into her eyes as soon as she finished her text. "See, I told you, different people have different styles. I like the minimalist look on you, it's refreshing. Some parts bring out the best of your features" Ivy didn't have dark eyeshadow but the simple makeup she wore managed to make her green optics stand out, a pair of which Taealha couldn't stop herself from staring in a daze. Surprisingly, she didn't blush on the part where Ivy teased her about burning the entire house down, "I had to pick between two things okay… I'm not exactly the smart one when it's outside of work, admittedly. I forgot I could've just switched the iron off but…" It obviously didn't come to her until after that.
"I can be very reckless when you get to know me, in a very… unruly spiritual way. Have I scared you into no longer befriending me now? I hope not." Taealha may have preferred the setting they were in but make no mistake, she wouldn't stick around for polite reasons when she could've went back when she wanted to. "The sweets were… a bonus. But you're so much sweeter, so who's really the winner there?" The human was usually shy but something about the other female sitting across her tonight made her feel like she had nothing to fear. The adrenaline boost was very much appreciated. She's never felt like this unless she was drunk. "I get sugar rush when I consume too much sugar and a tub of ice cream is always stored in my fridge for a reason so... " Before long, she could find it empty the next morning. "And there's always Hershey's chocolate syrup in my cabinet."
Despite being very busy with her hectic and packed schedule, she was always able to get her laptop and watch Netflix from the spare room in the lab. It's just timing. "So you can't bring me with you for shopping or else you're gonna have a major problem, miss." Knowing her, she wouldn't let Ivy leave without trying on a dozen clothes and leave her to parade as if she was on a runaway. "Oh, is this an invitation to your home? Gosh, Ivy, we've only known each other for hours and you're already baiting and luring me into your home, what were you planning to do with me once I'm in?" she gasped and covered her mouth sheepishly, she was going to imply a homicidal intent but she sent the wrong emojis; a winking one and a smirking one. That surely made things sound suggestive, for sure. Taealha bit her lip instinctively when she noticed the last sentence was thrown to her, "Such a charmer. It's a wonder people haven't fallen for you yet. Can that… person snuggle too? You know… some people have a love for cuddling."
Ivy nodded, you could definitely see the people in the industry who thought they could make anything look good and it was always quite entertaining because they would wear these unflattering crazy outfits just to get attention from the media. Ivy tended to play it safe, even with the red carpet, she was known for simple but glamorous looks and always prioritized comfort of her clothes over the cost or bragging rights “I think I could say the same about you, though you’re braver than me, wearing a skirt in winter is crazy levels of bold” and yet that bold style worked for her really well, she had a very girly and soft look to her. Ivy laughed as she read her message about Katie and how she would turn the world around for her “The fact that anyone can say finding someone attractive is a phase baffles me honestly” she responded and pressed her lips together “It wasn’t like I went out of my way to feel this way” she was sure Taealha could understand that much too.
When Taealha asked her how she said that without blushing, that was actually the moment where she did start blushing, her gaze dropping to the table a little sheepishly for a moment “Well I was trying to say it all theoretically but” he grinned slightly to herself as she sent the message “Now that I think about, it does all apply pretty well” she sent, she had already caught the soft scent of Taealha’s perfume earlier along with a few brief touches which told he that her skincare was off the charts. “Damn that’s one hell of a fear then” she responded thinking about the fact she might never forgive someone for using it against her “Have you ever tried to face it? I tried to face my one of frogs before but they still freak me out” but she could be in the same room as one and maybe be okayish. She laughed when she read her message about food being worth it, holding her hands up in surrender “Okay okay, don’t shoot” she laughed softly “I mean I understand the love for cheese though, sometimes I’d choose cheese snacks over sweets” though it did depend on the sweet offered.
Taealha didn’t seem to immediately refute the existence of the supernatural which meant she either knew they were real or was a human who believed they could be. She widened her eyes a little when the other girl said every being was beautiful, that choice of words almost seemed to confirm that she did know what Ivy was trying to say, though the Initia was going to continue to err on the side of caution because of the implications of revealing her identity “That’s a very open way to see it” she responded and nodded her head slightly, she was glad it seemed like she had a level of understanding for the supernatural at least. Ivy looked down at what she was wearing and then back to Taealha “It’s warm for sure, I love these cozy knit sweaters lately because they make me feel like I’m wrapped up in a blanket all day” she reached her hand over the table so that Taealha could feel how soft the material was on her sleeve. Ivy was still chuckling at the whole eggs burning fiasco “So don’t make you multitask because all logic will go out of the door” she teased typing back and smiled, lifting her gaze so she could meet hers for a moment because it seemed like Taealha had been searching for eye contact.
Her eyes looked so expressive and bold, she had this natural girlish beauty to her but there was a maturity in her eyes that you couldn’t miss, she seemed like someone who knew herself pretty well and was leading a life she wanted to “Oh of course not, I’m quite pleasantly surprised by your slightly rebellious charming ways” it made her human in Ivy’s eyes which was a good thing, she hated being around people who seemed too perfect and like they didn’t have a single flaw, Ivy wanted to see the flaws and the quirks and be reminded the person she was talking with was real and not just an image. She giggled as she read about Taealha enjoying sugar a lot and getting a sugar rush “So what you’re saying is you tend to do slightly crazy things when you have sugar?” she laughed thinking about getting up in the middle of the night just because she craved something sweet “That makes me tempted to give you more” she added with a playful smile.
Ivy wrinkled her nose and laughed “Or maybe I should bring you with me just to see what damage we’d end up doing” she grinned, probably to her credit card no doubt but Ivy never had any problems when it came to how much she got paid, a shopping spree really wouldn’t harm it all that much. Ivy widened her eyes the moment she received the message about trying to lure her back to her home and she blushed, had. She hadn’t been actually suggesting they do that because that felt to forward even for her, she bit her lip hard because she hadn’t expected this conversation to come up “Oh I am….” she twiddled her thumbs before typing more “Not that girl, don’t get me wrong you’re beautiful but I’d want things to be special” did she just out herself a hopeless romantic and a virgin? Probably but she wanted to clear on this point. She breathed a sigh of relief when she got the next message and smiled to herself “Truth be told I wouldn’t know what that feels like” did this put her off her flirting game? Perhaps but she felt like she could tell the truth with Taealha.
She didn't judge people's fashion seeing as Taealha believes that different people had different perceptions as well as style. The things people wear on the runaways doesn't usually get dubbed as reject for her, she just saw it as something that not everyone can sport. Her cheeks flushed when Ivy pointed out her boldness by sporting a skirt in the middle of winter, clearly, it was still a debatable sight but the human loves her skirts. It fits her well and perhaps, she likes to focus on the things that makes her look good, which led to her feeling confident to wear something else on another day. "I like skirts a lot. You can probably find that my bottom wear are consisted of 80% skirts. It's chilly… I admit, but it's the only day of the week that I was able to do anything I want, so I thought why not." She wore skirts to work too, but they were often shielded away by the lab coat.
"I guess people just don't take it easily to hear that Katie had successfully turn people who thought they were straight as a ruler to… you know" Her choice of words weren't surprisingly bold but coming from Taealha who was also a big advocate of her own rights, it was something. "Mhmm" She remembered the first time she found our about other sexualities, Taealha may be smart but she's not this smart, you can very well tell her that and she would gape in awe. At some point, he would describe herself as a bisexual had she not realized she cares more about their feelings than their gender. "Mhmm, it does apply very well" That was why she kept staring at her down, eyeing from the way her wavy locks cascaded down her shoulder, how Ivy would often swipe her tongue against her bottom lip to wet it and sometimes she noticed how she would also aprthwhile them slightly while trying to say something. Either she was just too much into staring until she started picturing, or she was being exceptionally attentive.
"I tried facing it countless of times… even the picture of spiders alone would be enough to scare me. I can see them… but not to stare for long. It gives me goosebumps. I don't think I can survive in Australia at all... " She's heard rumors about spiders that's the size of as big as your hand, living casually there and it frightened her to oblivion. "People say I'm quite open-minded" she quipped, in a lot of ways. While others may want to beat the supernatural system by having the upper hand, Taealha wanted to do everything in her power to study them so they can understand where the others come from. Surely, it's not different. A pure mindset that has yet to be tainted, the human was convinced she would stay the same until she accomplished the goal she had set.
She was quick to feel the material of her top and grin because it's quite comfortable, "It's a good choice of apparel, I'd say. You look very casual in it and it gives off the same comfortable rate. I imagine they made it from wool." Hence why it could be warm. Despite being a scientist, Taealha had an eye for fashion, because not everyone had only a few things as their hobbies, enough to dictate their lifestyle. Why else would she dress freely while still abiding by the dress code? "I used to sew my own clothes, when I had the time. That seemed to be even less these days, but it's always fun to create something for yourself." For her, sewing became the thong she could recreate from. "I want to say I'm bad at multitasking in general, but I think I'm just extra terrible on household chores. But I think if you gave me a few papers to a quick deadline, I can make it work." Nobody's perfect, after all.
By the time Ivy met her eyes, Taealha's breath hitched slightly as she maintained her grin, Ivy has beautiful eyes, for sure. It was hard for her to avert her gaze elsewhere. She felt like if she stared into it a little bit longer, there's a story inside those crystal orbs to tell. "So you think I'm charming? Bless, Ivy, you do know how to get to the center of it all" She probably knew how to speak her way out charmingly. "I tend to do crazy things for sugar too, it's the bane of my existence." Taealha always made sure to have a stock everywhere, she even had a small jar of sweets tucked in her bag to which she got it out and pushed it towards Ivy, "I don't normally share my sweets but... " She's not any normal person for her today, is she? The thought of bringing her along for a shopping trip sounded disastrous because Taealha had close to none in the self control department when it comes to that. "You're feeding me into bad ideas, Ivy" she chided playfully and shook her head, it sounded too good to be true.
The dark-haired female didn't expect for the other female to blurt out about taking someone home, it actually took her awhile to digest in the information, "Oh- I was just teasing- I mean not in that way but" Gosh, her cheeks flushed considerably, and if Ivy thought she had been red earlier, she was redder now. "You think I'm beautiful?" Of course, she caught that. It meant so much to her. "Don't worry, I'd want things to be special too. You're not alone there, it's completely understandable" she assured and bit her lip, Ivy thought she beautiful? "Me neither. Maybe we can find out." Taealha understood she sounded bold right now despite her heart hammering against her chest, but she wasn't about to lose this chance either.
She smiled softly at the way Taealha seemed to be so proud of her own style, it didn’t take long for Ivy to realize fashion was important to her but not on a superficial level, she seemed to wear what she wanted to wear because it gave her confidence and that was an empowering way for her to see it “Hey if it makes you feel good then I say it’s perfect” she responded with a slight smile gracing her lips. Her style was very girly and soft, which matched her light makeup with pink lipstick, she looked as pretty as a doll, except much more real. She had to laugh at the way Taealha explained the shock that people suddenly realized they were quite so straight as they thought they were “I never had that problem” she commented and shrugged slightly “I always knew I wasn’t really interested in guys, it made sense when I realized it was actually for girls” it had always been natural to her, what was less natural was living in a world where everyone assumed you were straight until revealed otherwise.
“So would define your preference as Bisexual?” she had to ask the question even if she had put the pieces together from the way Taealha talked about having crushes on both men and women already but she preferred to let people define their own labels in her mind or even tell her if they didn’t want a label at all. She didn’t fail to notice the way Taealha’s eyes slowly trailed over her, their eyes often catching one another as they talked which made Ivy smile a little shyly each turn because she wasn’t used to someone making so much eye contact with her and Taealha had these really expressive dark eyes which were practically sparkling in the low light.
She nodded slightly as Taealha explained her struggles to try and face her own fears “Well at least you tried” she responded and nodded a little, most people had irrational fears they could probably conquer by being exposed to the thing they were afraid of but then there were others that would never leave “Sure you would, you could bring me for protection” she grinned slightly to herself as she pressed the send button, for the first time meeting someone they sure were good at making these suggestions which hinted at them seeing one another again. “I don’t think anyone would say that about me but only because they don’t take the time to care to know” she was thinking about how she was often never asked very interesting or meaningful questions in interviews “People see what they want to see I guess” she pressed her lips together and lifted her gaze, she was glad Taealha seemed to be so accepting.
She smiled softly, she definitely felt snuggly in this sweater and hearing someone compliment it was nice too, Ivy wasn’t exactly a leader when it came to fashion in the Hollywood circuit but she did enjoy having a few nice things “Probably, knowing these brands, probably a little cashmere too” she leaned against the table as she continued their conversation about clothes “What got you into fashion?” she asked before following it up “I mean did were you inspired by anything?” clearly she had an eye for brands so no doubt she had watched a few catwalks in her time “We’re both too short to be models” she added with a giggling emoji because she had noted that Taealha was a tiny girl much like she was, though Ivy was a little taller than her “Oh! That’s fun, though I wouldn’t know where to start when it came to making something of my own, I feel like it would turn out like something that already exists” she smiled “So that’s your creative outlet?” she asked, everyone tended to have one.
“Well household chores are definitely tiresome so who could really blame you” she laughed softly “Do you live alone? Except for the cat of course” Ivy had lived alone for a long while now, even before she had a place of her own she went to boarding school so she was used to managing her own life. “I am not picturing you with like 4 papers in front of you and writing bits on each one in turn” she shook her head with an amused grin. “Crazy things huh? Care to share some examples?” she raised her brows as she lifted her gaze towards her. She opened her mouth in surprise when the other girl nudged the jar of sweets over to her and she hesitantly moved to open the lid and take one “Well now I feel special” she typed back “Thank you” she added before popping it into her mouth. She had a wry smile on her lips when she said she was feeding her bad ideas “But it sounds really really fun doesn’t it?” she giggled softly the moment she sent it.
The time seemed to be passing life wildfire, from talking about fears to sweets they seemed to get lost in every random topic that came up and time felt like it was whiling away while also seeming so slow at the same time. By the time she glanced at her phone again, she realized their talking had passed another hour and they barely even noticed. She pressed her lips together the moment Taealha responded to her words, she felt her heart slamming in her chest because it was such a vulnerable admission for her “Of course I do” she responded like it wasn’t even a question. “Call me a romantic but I always seem to want to wait for the right moment” she twiddled her thumbs not sure whether to say it before sending the message. “I’d like to find out” she admitted generally, obviously not right now but she was intrigued to see if there was more to explore between them.
She beamed at the word, perfect, she didn't know why but the compliment meant a lot more to her now, for some reason. Could it be because Taealha felt visibly comfortable with Ivy? Perhaps. Their style differed, it wasn't an understatement to say that the human dressed herself up to look a lot like some kind of doll that came out of nowhere, though she did tone down on the makeup part, simply because Taealha doesn't prefer dark makeup, it was hard to even find her doing dark eyeshadow or a darker tone lipstick that wasn't red. Meanwhile, Ivy looked very casual with minimal makeup just as well that matches up with her style, the laid-back aura could possibly make the Initia cover more grounds under the pretense that she wasn't anyone famous, in which Taealha still haven't figured out. But for someone who had a keen eye, she was able to pinpoint the high end designer brands Ivy sported.
Her lips formed an o when Ivy explained she knew she wasn't interested in males at all, "That surely narrowed things down for you pretty quick then? To know you're interested in women only?" When asked what her preferences would detail, Taealha giggled and typed her answer not long after Ivy guessed if she was Bi, "Not that specifically. I think I lean more to Pansexual? I don't think gender really matter when it comes to love anyway" That's what she thought, she was sure she would rather labelled herself as a Pan if she had to label it. The two didn't stop staring at each other and every time Ivy meet her eyes, the raven-haired female could only beam brightly. "I'll keep that in mind to bring you along if I'm going to Australia then" she stuck her tongue out playfully because the chances of Taealha actually dragging Ivy along one way or another could be high, knowing the human's antics.
"Well… I'm taking the time to care" she quipped softly and offered her a gentle smile because she didn't want Ivy to feel isolated nor discouraged. "I look at you and I see a mysterious girl who has so many to share. I guess you're just seeking the right outlet for that. But then again, don't hold me at my words, I'm not a psychologist or psychiatrist that could diagnose people from a single glance" she held both her hands up in defense before giggling afterwards. "Oooh, I like cashmere." They were slowly getting to know more about each other, at this point, the two of them probably knew more than anyone would in a single month. "I heard my family was well off, but when I was in boarding school, everything was limited. Everyone kept wearing the same thing and sometimes you can see them flaunt by saying it's an exclusive brand or something."
It was daunting to her. "It feels manufactured and superficial, I didn't want to be like them. Besides, I didn't want to wear the boring high school uniforms. I sewed mine because the school regulations only said to use a certain material and color only, I improvised." She nodded when she was asked if that's her creative outlet. "Please, I love heels for a reason, I know I'm tiny but… that's why heels were created, no?" she jested teasingly. Taealha forgets our a handkerchief from her bag and pushed it towards Ivy, it was embroidered with plenty of lace and there was a name, her name sewn at the edge, "That's my first ever project. I was 9." A chuckle escaped her when Ivy said she was trying not to picture her with 4 different papers in front of her, "Not that kind of multitasking. But yeah, I live alone. It's just something I'm used to, even when I was in the orphanage, I'm the loner kid. You? Do you live alone?"
A blush crept up when Ivy asked what are some of the crazy things she does under the influence of sugar, "I can't believe you're making me expose myself… one of them is talking to my cat like she's my roommate and dress her up... " Taealha hummed softly in affirmation, it does sound fun. Despite chatting via phone, it seemed like the time passing didn't bother the human as much, though by the time she noticed the time displayed on her phone, she let out a muffled chuckle as she showed it to Initia, implying they've been talking for quite a while. "Then we'll find out later. I know I have a lot of pillows and blankets… enough to make a fort."
She nodded slightly “It did and it didn’t” she responded and bit her lip before a moment as she thought how to explain “For a long time I just wondered if I was broken, seeing all my friends gushing over their crushes and having their first boyfriends and being the one who wondered why I didn’t want that” it didn’t occur to her for a long while that it was actually because her attraction went the other way “It wasn’t until I realized I developed a crush on a girl near the end of high school that things felt simpler...but then it occurred to me that I actually have to tell people I’m different...which took longer”. Hearing Taealha define herself as Pansexual made her smile “So you don’t see the difference when it comes to a partner, that’s nice, feels like you see a person rather than a figure” she couldn’t bring herself to be attracted to men though so she definitely fit the lesbian box. “You almost say it like it’s likely to happen” Ivy responded and chuckled, Taealha definitely struck her as the adventurous type.
She was right, she was taking the time to care and that was probably why Ivy felt so hooked on this conversation to the point where it didn’t matter that hours had passed to her, she was enjoying the company so much she didn’t want it to end. She looked up with a somewhat shy gaze because of the way Taealha pinned her with her words “Mysterious” she responded and smiled softly “Honestly I always thought people could see right through me so mysterious isn’t what I’d use, I’m curious to know what makes you think that” then again, perhaps everyone felt a little mysterious before you knew them and Tessa Blake and Ivory Blake were seemingly two very different people. “Me too” she responded when she said she liked cashmere “Anything soft and comfortable is good with me, some of my most prized possessions are literally just blankets” she giggled under her breath slightly. “Yeah I remember the cursed boarding school uniforms and the girls who would always break the rules and roll their skirts too high” she rolled her eyes playfully “Like a slightly shorter skirt is going to kill anyway” which sounded ironic given Taealha’s outfit, which maybe could be described as killer.
It was cute that she had changed her outfit to make it more to her style while still just about managing to keep within the rules “I bet you had other girls begging you to help them change their uniforms too” she responded with a smile, she seemed really creative and imaginative which was something Ivy wasn’t really. Not unless it was character building which was something she really enjoyed to do in her job. “Well true, basically you’re going to be taller than me more of the time because of your love for heels” she laughed, she had no patience for sore feet and would probably end up barefoot before long out of frustration. Seeing the handkerchief she had, her eyes trailed over it, while she held it in her hands, she took in how it looked before reading Taealha’s message about it and picking up her phone to response “You’re really talented” she widened her eyes “I can’t believe a 9-year-old had more artistic talent than me” she grinned as she handed it back towards her.
“I’ve lived alone since I came to America, started with a little shoebox apartment you could barely move in” it was wistful to think about now that she had made it but back then she had really struggled to keep up with everything, bills always piling up, work barely paying enough to cover it and yet she continued fighting because it was something she loved and wanted to do. “It’s a lot of work, living alone, huh?” she chuckled slightly. When Taealha revealed what she did under the influence of sugar she laughed softly but smiled “Well cats do make pretty good companions so I’ve heard” she smiled softly “Though I’m curious to know what outfits you made her wear” she grinned slightly, after all, cats weren’t usually the type to just sit still and let you put clothes on them, though Ivy didn’t know what Taealha’s cat was like.
Ivy lifted her gaze when Taealha showed her the phone and the time and the Initia grinned a little sheepishly “Wow the time really ran away with us huh?” she typed and pressed her lips together, she didn’t want it to end and yet it felt like eventually, they would have to, besides, the owners were cleaning up the tables in here already which meant they were closing soon “Is it ridiculous of me to say I don’t want tonight to end?” she didn’t look up at Taealha when she said that because she was a little embarrassed about it.
"Oh?" She had to admit that she was a bit confused by her answer when she said it did and it didn't, but Taealha decided to let Ivy speak to further explain what she meant before asking anything. A frown creased her cheerful features when she heard the other female wondered if she was broken, "You didn't have to feel that way. I guess it was better for me because nobody ever placed any expectations on me while I was growing up. Well, I was practically a tossed stray" she chuckled, it was fine by Taealha, she didn't take it as a negative thing, being a stray wasn't a bad thing. If she wasn't thrown away like that, she would never have been where she is now. So yes, in a way, she was grateful for how she turned out to be today. "I didn't realize what I was, people kept saying this and that until I settled by the fact that I didn't want to label myself because labeling is such a burdensome thing. I only said I'm Pansexual because that's the reality of it, I don't see any difference in anyone. If I'm attracted to them, then it's because of the person they are."
Admittedly, she ogled models occasionally, they were eye candies, but it was simply because she found them beautiful. "I mean, now that I know I have a human shield to be used whenever I need to fend off insects like that, I would definitely put you on speed dial. One day, I'm going to go there and I'm going to drag you along" Oh, it's a promise. Taealha scrunched her nose up and shook her head cutely, denying what Ivy said about her being an open book, "I don't see you as an open book at all. What I see on you, you display it well. But there's another layer behind it. Something more." That's what she saw. The human wasn't surprised, considering how vulnerable people can be. "I have a customized blanket too, it's basically needed for me to sleep peacefully. When I have to sleep at the lab, I will bring it with me. It's basically an essential thing to ensure I have a good night's sleep. A bit childish, I know, but that's me" she beamed enthusiastically.
The good thing about the human was that she didn't care what people think on what she likes. Whilst she may be sensitive and had the heart of a tissue, she wouldn't want to change herself for the sake of others, especially if it was a trait she liked about herself. A trait that makes her Taealha. Her eyes fell over to her clothing choice, her skirt was just over her mid thighs, which made her giggle, "Would you believe me if I said I was quite the rebel back then? Up until I was 17, my sister told me. I couldn't recall much of it, it's too blurry, but somehow I'm not surprised. My sister kept saying I'm hard headed and stubborn to the core when I'm being adamant." The dark-haired female nodded when Ivy said people were lining up for her to help, "I couldn't do all or else the school would find a reason to expel me. But I try doing those I can on my free time. My sister said I wasn't likely to be expelled because I'm the valedictorian but who knows, right?"
It seems that everything she could recall from 17 years and under were the stories Arianna would tell her. "I remember thinking heels would help me tip toe or something to kiss someone." Heels became a second nature to her hence why she didn't struggle with it. Her cheeks flushed deeply when Ivy complimented her, "I was just bored, it's nothing" she murmured dismissively. Taealha was fascinated by how Ivy moved on her own and made her way up on her own. "When I reached 18, I had to move out of the orphanage per the rules so I know how it feels. I only managed to get somewhere better last year after I generated enough money to pay for them. I was offered a job at the lab, interning, at first. I only slept in the spare room there for the first two years and after I finished my degree, I was able to have enough to afford myself an apartment. Thankfully the schooling didn't cost me anything because I'm on a scholarship" She was immensely grateful for that too. Things were turning out well for her despite her past tragedies.
"Oh, Leo was left with no choice but to let me dress her up. I actually did a few clothes fitted for a cat." She pushed her phone to give her a few pictures where she dressed up her cat with much care. It was nearing closing time soon, they were practically the only two left in the cafe, she didn't even realize. "No, because I feel the same. But who's to say this needed to be the end? You have my number and I have yours, we can meet up… for that greenhouse trip, right?"
