It had been about an hour or so since she first arrived at the bar, makeup done, nice dress, really making an effort for a girl's night out. Flashback to earlier in the day and Sariah had been complaining about how she didn't want to leave the house but her friend Holland had convinced her that she spent far too much time being a homebody and convinced her to come to this karaoke bar. Thankfully the drinks were on 2 for 1 all the night most of the cocktails tasted really great so it had been easy-drinking tonight but Sariah still kinda felt out of place in a bar of all places.

The singing had been hit or miss, a few people who were really good and got the crowd going but then there were others that kinda gave her a headache but she found herself singing along to the songs most of the night anyway, it wasn't the worst way to spend an evening, her slightly tipsy mind had decided but about an hour in her friend was nowhere to be found. She knew better than to go and look for her considering she had been eyeing some guy from across the bar for most of the evening and he was conveniently out of sight too so the blonde decided she would need to entertain herself. She had considered going up to sing herself but changed her mind deciding she wasn't nearly drunk enough for that.

She got to her feet, dancing her way through the crowd of the people at the bar and ordering herself another two glasses of the passionfruit cocktail she'd been drinking all evening when she spotted a familiar face sitting by herself on the other side. Sariah wasn't exactly close with any of the other ambassadors but she had spent enough time with them to know them on some level and Sofi seemed a little down. Perhaps her better judgment would have left the Initia ambassador be and gone to dance alone but Sariah figured if anyone could understand her need to wind down it was another ambassador.

She headed over to where she was sitting and hopped up onto a barstool next to her before tilting her head slightly to the side "I was going to make some witty comment about being at a bar all alone on a Saturday night and then I had a second thought" considering she had now been ditched by her friend she was technically in the same boat. "So I've decided we are going to make a pact to not look like sad lonely people together" she spoke as she slid her second drink she bought in front of her as a peace offering "What do you say?" well it wasn't exactly the way she intended to get to know the Initia ambassador outside of work but it seemed like a logical plan to her in her slightly tipsy mind.

"That's so cruel though… to get through life simply because you have to, it's a must if you wish to survive" she murmured faintly, the tipsiness was slowly getting to her and when Sofi is anywhere near to her intoxicated state, she would usually spout the truth that was long hidden underneath her own feelings. After all, she doesn't hear her heart on her sleeve. But a few drinks in, or particularly one strong one, was enough to drag her there. The blonde sighed contently when Riah told her to pick a more updates and latest version, yeah, she probably needs one, knowing her. "I think I'll soon find myself falling in love with it at this rate" she pointed out dryly, that is also not surprising for her.

Sometimes, nonliving things make a better company than living ones. But at least, Sariah's serving that for her on behalf of living things. "I have no idea why they call it blind dates… or why they created it in the first place. Who eventually thought of that thing... " she grumbled and huffed in dissatisfaction, clearly Sofi had been a victim to plenty of undeserving ones so to say. Well, considering she's never hit it off with those things, it's safe to say the Initia Grand Master had no intention of using it as her platform to get a partner in her life. "I was tricked into going for it. Well, the first time was actually my friend pranking me. I made sure to tell him it was not funny" a hiccup escaped her as she tried to recall the time she went back from her date only to find her roommate laughing his ass off after gauging her reaction.

"Technically, he had the audacity to ask me how it went when he knew it was a big prank." Suffice to say, Rowan had a good reason to never push her into those again. Sofi ordered the beverage Riah told her and returned with their drinks in hand, placing them on top of the table while leaning her body to the side, "That is a problem, yes. But it's also hard when you know the probability of that coming true is high, speaking from experience" Sofi did come here originally to drink her sorrows away since her previous lover passed away on this exact night. "I know there must be a room for happiness out there but until I see it, I don't think I can believe much of it." Seeing is believing.

Even with the sour look Riah spared her, Sofi was having fun watching her go up there because she wasn't about to take no for an answer. And that's one proof of it. She hollered enthusiastically as she finished her drink and followed the others into singing along to the soundtrack, it is Bohemian Rhapsody; it's as iconic as iconic can be. "Woohooo, that's how you rake in viewers, people." Was she shameless? Not exactly. But with the amount of alcohol in her system right now after another two glasses? Who knows.

She laughed, pouting a little because she agreed with what Sofi said, it did seem pretty unfair that life was something you had to drag yourself through rather than something you looked forward to and treasured “Well I’m sure people with billions of dollars and yachts and all those vacations probably do more than survive” she sighed dramatically “What I wouldn’t do to spend a week on the beach drinking cocktails and not thinking about ambassadors and factions” after a moment she realized that Sofi was an ambassador and gave a sheepish grin “No offense” she added, her gaze slightly shifty. “Hey at least it’s always there for you when you need it” the jested with a chuckle, items were definitely more reliable than people that was for sure.

“Well it’s blind because you’d have to be blind to date half the people you get matched with” she responded and giggled, she remembered all the random people she had gone on dates with throughout her 20s, she had a thing for remembering faces but she couldn’t name nearly any of them if you asked her “I guess the idea is if you go out with enough random people then eventually you have to meet someone you don’t hate right?” probably not the actual logic applied but she was yet to actually see it succeed, at least now people had things like tinder which helped to match you with people who seemed to have the same interests as yours. “You should have just used the escape through the bathroom window trick, you just need to throw your heels out first and then you’re away” she nodded like it was the easiest thing in the world but she had vivid memories of getting stuck on many dates with no idea how to excuse herself.

She pulled her face when she said the guy who set her up on the blind date had been laughing pretty hard “Damn how bad was the prank?” she asked with a soft laugh, she’d had her fair share of bad dates but she’d never actually been purposely set up with someone she didn’t like by a friend, she was good at picking those for herself. “Don’t jinx it” she responded with a pout when she said it was likely that something would come along to ruin the happiness she felt “I’ve had enough of bad luck to last me a lifetime, I don’t need an extra dose of bad mojo on my plate” she commented with a slight grumble but nudged Sofi when she said there was room for happiness but she doubted it being real “Well I’d advise not looking for happiness in a man, there is more to life” she nodded slightly, her work was one of the most important things in her life, as were her family and even her friends, of which she felt like she’d made a new one tonight.

She was drunk enough that the performance wasn’t as mortifying for her as it would be if she was sober, she wasn’t exactly doing the song justice but then Sofi was right when she said everyone in the room didn’t seem to mind all that much. When it was finally done she gave a little half-bow and headed off the stage back to where the Initia ambassador was sitting and clapping her on the shoulder “Has anyone ever told you that you’re a cruel cruel woman?” she spoke as she grabbed her drink from on the bar and downed a fair amount of it before setting it down on the bar.

"The bitter side and truth of capitalism" she scrunched her nose up in disgust, it was clear that tipsy Sofi was more inclined to spout what's in her head than most. At the sudden mention of being able to chill elsewhere without having to worry about the problems that goes along here, she chuckled because she could see how that would be extremely appealing, "None taken. Believe me, I would love to do the same. I can't wait to receive a vacation of my own, god knows it could be stressful handling things here. How are they humans faring" she asked curiously, "Because I can tell you the Initia side can be like handling kindergarteners… well, truthfully, the 12-year-olds are a lot better in mannerisms compared to the older ones but you didn't hear that from me."

Admittedly, Sofi found more than a few who still couldn't look at her as their new Grand Master, given that she was a foreigner and knew nothing about the eternal city close to its history. But reality is reality, they'll have to let that sink in that she wasn't about to go anywhere. Even when she was explained the concept of blind dates, Sofi still couldn't see the function of it, but then again, it was hard to get her to see anything past a wall at this point. The blonde can be stubborn at times. "You're speaking from experience" she shot playfully, she's never been all that well when it comes to dating. "Tinder is a better version where you at least know what their interests are but… social media is dangerous enough to be a web of lies so" Sofi shrugged absentmindedly and finished another glass of her drink.

Hearing the old school trick to escape a date made her snort at how ridiculously unrealistic that method was, "Have you ever seen anyone you know actually do that? Has it ever been a success? Because I have a feeling that you'd find yourself calling for help because you're either stuck or you fell and sprained your ankle, minimum" It was hard to calculate your momentum when you're rushing. The memory of Rowan prancing her with her first ever blind date was still a fresh memory at the back of her head, enough to cause the Initia to grimace at the reminder of it, "Very bad. I think I scared the guy off... " It didn't make it better that she came back home wet head to toe from the heavy rain only to be a laughing stock for her roommate. "

Mhmm, besides, perhaps some people are just not meant for relationships, right? I mean I could be one of those people and I probably didn't realize it." But deep down, even Sofi knew, she wanted to know what it feels to be that significant to someone too. Of course, it wasn't number one on her priority list nor was it anywhere near one. Sofi Zahara is one busy woman who didn't have time to entertain those. But the time Riah returned to the table, Sofi giggled and raised her glass as if she was making a toast, "You're not the first. Though I'm inclined to believe that you needed more of this cruel woman sometimes in your life. Come on, Riah, when's the last time you let loose? Without anyone having to tell you to do so?"

“They say money can’t buy you happiness but it sure as hell does make life easier” she commented with a laugh, their society definitely revolved around it that was for sure and it was true that people with a lot of money tended to get away with anything “What a society we live in where work is such a drag that the only thing we ever dream about is not being there” she admitted with a laugh, she loved her work and the difference she could make to the world with it but she would admit upfront that the stress of it did get a little much at times and made her feel overwhelmed. When Sofi talked about the initia acting like kindergarteners she had to laugh “Oh I know the feeling, I don’t get to decide who is placed on the privy council for the organization and they spend more time arguing with each other than they do actually making any decisions” she groaned, very different people with very different opinions mostly.

“I guess it can’t have been easy going from new to the city to head of the tribe huh?” Sariah didn’t have that problem because there was no skipping up the list when it came to the organization, you had to work there for a long time and work your ways up the ranks and while she had done so much quicker than the average person thanks to a lot of ambassadors choosing to resign in a short amount of time, she definitely knew her path would have led there eventually. “Unfortunately I am” she responded and shook her head in amusement, she had plenty of horror stories to tell when it came to dating and she had definitely come to the point where she wondered if she should give up a few times “Tinder is good if you’re looking for a hookup but you’ll be lucky to find someone with serious intent on there” she laughed softly, especially when it came to men “Some people make meeting people seem to easy and you just want to shoot daggers at them” she laughed, she’d ended up meeting her partner at a formal event they were both attending, though not in the way she expected.

“I mean no but isn’t it in the back of everyone’s mind when they realize they’re on a terrible date?” she laughed softly under her breath, she wasn’t even sure most restrooms in restaurants actually even had windows you could climb out of and Sofi was right, you’d probably strain your ankle “Knowing my luck I’d end up breaking my heels on the way down” she pouted a little, she really did love her shoes so that would be an awful shame. “Well it doesn’t sound like scaring him off was exactly a bad thing” she spoke and then shook her head laughing for a moment “It does kinda make you wonder if anyone dates for the intention of actually having a relationship or if it’s really all about sex and nothing more” sex was good, don’t get her wrong but she had gotten to the point in her life where she wanted more than that.

“Oh come on, someone who clearly wants one can’t be ‘not meant’ for it” it was evident to her from the way Sofi said she tried to find a relationship and went on these ridiculous dates that she still believed in the idea of wanting love and one day meeting someone who would treat her right. “Besides I believe in people being about to put their own energy into the world which means if you hope enough deep down, it will eventually find you, though not always in the way you expect” she certainly hadn’t been expecting to fall for another ambassador that was for sure and it made things significantly more complicated but it was worth it to her. “Oh god you’re one of those tough love types aren’t you?” she grumbled as she took a sip of her drink “Just because I don’t party often doesn’t mean I don’t know how to have fun, wine and dancing in my kitchen is way more fun than a sweaty club” she laughed drinking more down and then placing the glass down on the bar “Though I would love to hear more about your own letting loose” she challenged with a grin.

"I mean, what if my happiness is alcohol. Then yes, money can buy happiness" she retorted dryly, Sofi does have her days when all she does was drink till she was sure she'd hurt her own system, thankfully she knows enough to stop. "Well, now my form of happiness is a good sleep on a good bed. Yeah…" Money can definitely buy the latter. "They told us to make sure we work for something we're passionate about… some of us actually believed that. Hell, I believed it. But gosh is it tiring like hell… what I wouldn't do for a few days off- scratch that, one day off is more than enough" She wasn't literally talking about her occupation per se, the Initia loves her job. She studied hard to get where she is today, she had a good job and a good pay, she had a tribe to look after, a family. But she'd love to have a break when it comes to hearing people's thoughts.

At times when she wasn't conscious enough to control what goes in and out, especially when she's overwhelmed by tiredom or exhaustion, it gets very messy. She found herself grimacing at the thought of her council bickering, "Ouch, that sounds devastating. I don't think I've had an argument when it comes to council decisions-" Now that she's thought about it, she remembered she had to actually blind someone in the room because they were arguing, "I take that back. We've had that… once." It really wasn't easy being ambassador and she was a bit reassured that Sariah felt the same way. "Nope… I've been to Evermore once back then. But when I came back here I thought it was to assume the role of Psychic Master… not… Grand Master. That one was really out of the blue for me." Truth be told, Sofi wasn't used to the city yet. She loves that she had a place to call her own now, but all the others, it'll take time.

"And I don't even know if the others even accepted me as their new Grand Master. I'm a foreigner to their ranks, a stranger with a freaky element." Sofi did wonder how long she'll last. "So no for Tinder then" a checked off one. The blonde wasn't looking for a hookup, she doesn't do one night stands as much as she actually takes lovers. Doesn't mean she doesn't do them. But then again, her lovers didn't tend to stay long either. "Meeting people is the easy part, connecting with them… now that's… the tricky part" There were times when she was forced to be in such a setting and whilst she could've just made use of her abilities and went away, it didn't seem right. That resulted in a very tiring and boring night. "I mean if I know I can fit in a space like that, I may actually attempt to do that. But is it worth having a sprained ankle or a broken part?" Definitely not. She wasn't about to risk breaking an ankle just for someone she probably won't even have a second meeting with.

Now that Riah's said it, it does make her wonder, "I mean, sex is good. But some people want more… I guess you don't really know if they want the first one or the latter. I mean I could try reading their thoughts but that's too much effort and if they're opting for a hookup, it's always traumatizing to hear what they're thinking" Crude remarks? Checked. She's been there, done that. "And it's a breach of privacy." At least, the Initia id respectful enough to know her boundaries. "I've had a few...partners. They were good, we treated each other well. But at the end of it, it's as if it wasn't meant to be. I don't know what I'm searching…" It was why none of her relationships actually lasted longer than 5 years. If they were lucky, maybe 2. Or 1.

Sofi narrowed her eyes at the blonde as she took another sip, "What do you mean those tough love types" she shot playfully, "I mean those are fun. Dancing and letting loose at your home, but I beg to differ if sweaty clubs provide you some eye candies." At this point, the Initia Grand Master was totally halfway to drunk island, "There's a variety of that. It depends on what kind of setting you find me in. Considering how I don't remember half the things I do when I'm drunk, I think that means I probably wild my way through."

She laughed softly when Sofi said her happiness might be alcohol “I might suggest you need some better methods to be happy” she admitted it with a shy grin over towards her “Sleep is very important, there’s nothing better than getting into a really comfy bed and just relaxing” especially if she could stay there all day and not have to worry about anything else. “Yeah and not everyone’s goals in life are revolved around a career you know?” she shrugged slightly “Sometimes people do what they have to when it comes to work so they can afford to do the things which make them happy” she didn’t see any shame in that, your career didn’t have to be the single most important part of your life if you weren’t the kind who loved to work a lot.

“It can be, but the whole idea of the council is to have people there who aren’t just going to say yes sir, no sir, you know?” that was why it was carefully put together with people from all different backgrounds and interests, it made sure that one person’s bias canceled another’s out and overall decisions were made fairly and in the interest of the people they represented. “Only once?” she raised her brows and then pressed her lips together “Damn you’re lucky but then I suppose your decisions are less...broad than mine, I have to think about how it affects the other ambassadors but also the town hall and the big corporations and the emergency services” and it was surprising how one decision to affect so many different things. “Yeah I admit the whole changeover was sudden and surprising” though she didn’t try and pry too much into how other factions made their decisions about leadership, it didn’t seem like her place to question it.

“Well for one you seem like a badass who knows where she stands” she responded with a quirk of her brow, she definitely got a sense of confidence from Sofi which was really admirable, she had no doubt that the blonde could hold her own and probably wouldn’t let others bring her down “Maybe they were waiting for someone to come along, willing to make a stand for them?” Sofi did strike her as the type to lead the way and not wait for anyone to tell her what she was supposed to do. “Well true, it’s hard to tell from a short conversation or a dating page whether someone actually….clicks with you” there were some people you just got along with immediately but was there a simple way to search them out? She didn’t think so, it was tricky to know what was real, what was fake and who was worth spending your time on.

Sariah widened her eyes as she listened to Sofi ramble for a while about her love life and preferences which also mixed with her ability to read into people’s minds, she naturally shuddered when the other woman mentioned not wanting to hear someone’s thoughts when they were aiming for a hookup “Yeah... what someone says out loud might be filtered but what you hear from the source is probably...crude” everyone was guilty of having those thoughts they didn’t actually let slip. She pressed her lips together and then shrugged “Well then maybe you should have a think about what it is your searching for? I mean being single isn’t so bad, no one to nag you to do things, no sharing your space, you get to eat what you want, watch what you want” Sariah had lived alone for a long time before this and she honestly really enjoyed doing so.

“I mean you’re going to scold me” she responded with a wry grin because she had clearly hit a nerve when she said she was a tough love type which made her amused, she didn’t mean it in a bad way, just the kind of person who didn’t listen to excuses and didn’t care much for them. “I think I’ll pass, eye candy is fun for about the first minute and then they usually out themselves as a huge asshole and I’m completely over it” she was definitely someone who valued personality and charm much more than looks, in fact, she didn’t really notice people’s attractiveness when she first met them “Wild huh?” she raised her brows “One time when me and my friends got drunk we dressed up as comic book characters and proceeded to help people who didn’t need our help, cross a bridge which was not hard to cross” which was definitely funny now she remembered it but she felt sorry for the poor people who happened to come across them that night.

"I won't say no to one bottle" she reported dryly, when she needs a drink, she really does need one. "But yes, I should probably find something else that makes me happy, the last thing I wanted to do is have a drunk competition with my former roommate and do something crazy just because I can." If they were going to reevaluate that on Sofi's grounds, she may actually be able to do that. "Ugh, I want a good night's rest and sleep my way through a few hours" she grumbled, sometimes Sofi forgot to switch it off and could still hear people's thoughts. "I can tell you, you do not want to hear what people dream about… it's… so weird. One time my neighbor was hugging a camel in his dream. I have no idea what that was supposed to mean but hey… can't judge, right?" Did she spend the next hour trying her best not to laugh? Yes.

The blonde hummed in affirmation to the human's words, there's wisdom accentuating her words and she wasn't surprised, Sariah was known to be quite wise and smart. "Can't they just say no while sitting in their seats instead of chucking something else to the other person in their disagreement saga" she exclaimed haughtily, Sofi obviously didn't have a good experience from the sound of it. "Try putting elemental masters in one room and get them in a disagreement, you'd hate to be in the middle of it." No wonder she went as far as robbing their senses for a brief while. "You sure have quite the number on you, I kinda admire how you take it. I know sometimes we can be a handful, us supernaturals, but you've been able to handle us this far and it's a feat." Sariah is still young and surely had more to look in front but the fact that she decided to stay and sit in that position, says a lot.

"I know it won't only be once… but I hope they won't try to destroy the conference room next time." Disagreements with the masters can be overwhelming. She wasn't used to leadership at the scale she was given, being a Master is a different kind of authority compared to being a Grand Master. Though Sofi was still confident she could get things under her belt soon. Once she is a bit more used to it, of course. "Maybe… they didn't reject me, not outrightly, I'm not sure if they could do that give our spirit… connection to the tribe but, I'll take that as a good thing." Or else there wouldn't be any ideas of Lone Initia right? Everyone seemed fine with the replacement. "They're a bit quiet but it's probably because some were still mourning over the previous Grand Master, spirit connection does that" It's how she felt a bit empty when she decided to leave her tribe to learn more about the Psychic element.

"A badass who knows where she stands though? Look at you going with all those positive words, Miss Ambassador" she teased playfully, receiving a compliment feels good at times like this. "Mhmm… I had my fair share of being traumatized, trust me." Once she got them, she usually blew them off because she couldn't bear to hear anymore. Understandable. "I don't specifically search for a relationship because I'm lonely, I guess. I just like the feeling of being able to make their day good, small things like that. I won't die without a boyfriend or girlfriend though" she giggled sheepishly, if the time wasn't right, then she wouldn't find them even if she wanted one, anyway. "My last relationship was about 5 years ago."

Her grin grew when Riah basically outed herself to be someone who values personality above all, "Can't say you're wrong there. But I can appreciate a few eye candies amidst this sad single life, who knows if they end up being good in bed" Sofi didn't let herself pass on winking before downing herself with another glass. The thought of picturing Riah in a cosplay while behaving erratically to strangers who probably wanted to curse at them made her laugh, "That's wild. Mine… if I could remember, I think I promised to marry someone and almost signed the marriage contract."

Sariah raised her brows in surprise when Sofi mentioned being able to hear what people are dreaming about and suddenly the human’s mind was all the weird things she had dreamed about in the past and how she would feel if someone else had managed to hear them “That sounds like a switch you wish you could permanently turn off” she commented while pulling a face because she couldn’t even imagine how annoying that must be, especially when you were trying to sleep yourself and all you could hear was someone else thinking about something “So you neighbor has a secret love for camels? Fascinating” she was sure Sofi knew things about people most of the world didn’t and she wouldn’t even need to know them.

“You’d think right but it all gets a little crazy when people get passionate or defensive over something” that was her experience anyway, if you let people get into the realm where they are being stubborn then pretty much all bets were off because no one wanted to back down and they all ended up fighting amongst themselves. She winced a little when Sofi mentioned adding the possibility of supernatural powers to those disagreements, Sariah shook her head a little “I think I’ll steer as clear as I can from that situation, us humans are easily broken you know” she snickered slightly because of course, she was tougher than she looked but that didn’t mean that one of her people could get really hurt but some supernatural’s temper. “Well someone has to make the effort to keep everyone in check huh?” she grinned slightly and shrugged “I actually like the work, it feels meaningful” she nodded slightly, that was how she felt about it.

“Everyone feels some resistance to change and they’ve faced a lot lately, give them credit for not throwing all their toys and having a tantrum immediately” she felt like that gave the impression that they were willing to hear Sofi out which was pretty much all you could ask for when you were coming into this as an outsider and trying to fit yourself into an existing community “You know a lot of people opposed me stepping up to the head of the organization?” she shrugged slightly “They said I was under experienced and too young but that didn’t stop me from continuing to prove my worth” there was always going to be naysayers but you couldn’t let them stop you.

It was kinda sweet, the way that Sofi talked about what she wanted from a relationship and how she didn’t need one nor particularly search for one but definitely seemed to have a lot of love to give and no one to receive it “I do believe that the world has a certain way of bringing things around with time, don’t write anything off just yet” Sariah had been in the same mindset when she met Orion and that had turned out to be one of the best turns in her past few years. “Well that is one of the perks of being single I’ll admit, free rein to look and enjoy wherever you want” from her experience one night stands weren’t the way to find anything more serious but they did help to temporarily fulfill needs. Sariah’s jaw dropped in surprise when Sofi talked about the craziest thing she had done while drunk “You what?” she raised her brows “How did that even happen and like...what stopped you?” she widened her eyes surprised by what she had done.

It wasn’t the first time she had to endure all the noises a person could make in their head, but as time passes by, it was something she needed to live with since that’s just how things go for her. Thankfully, Sofi found a way to block it when she’s sleeping, a way to make sure her subconscious could hold the wall for her while she’s in her slumber. It wasn’t easy but it was definitely worth it. “I found a way around it, it’s not permanently off but after a few rigorous training here and there with my mental, I found a way to leave a wall up when I’m sleeping because that’s the only way I can leave my conscious to sleep and replenish myself” Annoying was another word she could use to describe those, especially people who had weird dreams, “I was thinking he probably had a mysterious deep meaning dream that still has yet to unveil itself but who knows, maybe he just really likes camels…” Weird, but nothing new.

Sofi nodded knowingly, she knew how crazy things could get when people get defensive, sometimes when she tries to calm them down, she’s usually the one who gets hurt. People’s egos can sometimes be too high for her to reach. A snicker escaped her when she mentioned how humans are breakable, “Please, I’d rather have those council of humans any day… At least they’re not threatening to suck the air in the room because they were butthurt” she grumbled, she loves her Masters, there was no doubt in that but gosh, some people can be quite the pain. Since she was considerably new to the city and to the whole leadership party, Sofi still has yet to take in everything into account before doing something. Thankfully, for the Psychic Master, she usually tends to think about what would come next before making her decisions.

“I’m glad you feel so… you’ve been in this position for years, right? I’ve only been here for a few months only, I have plenty that I haven’t gotten my head around.” She bowed her head playfully, saying how she may need Riah to teach her a few things in how to manage her faction. The human ambassador was right, she was more than thankful to know that at least ¾ of them were willing to hear her out. Before long, they may even aid her in making the dreams she had envisioned, come to life. That’s not impossible. “It will take time, I agree. I’m just glad they haven’t… tried to pull me off yet” Most people don’t take new leaderships lightly, especially for an Initia tribe where the Grand Master was given the special ability to mend their spirits. Literally. “Really? What happened?” She could have a few ideas on why some may oppose Riah to her succession but it was just a few assumptions that she had no idea if it was true or not. “Let me guess, people think you’re not up to what it takes to lead a faction of humans?” Against the others who were supernatural, that is quite the feat. Even more so when the blonde across her even unified them under one roof. It was impressive.

Sofi wasn’t too desperate to find someone, but perhaps she had a lot of love she could give, or maybe she just wanted to talk to someone on an intimate level, who knows? Not even the Initia herself knew what she wanted from that. The look on Sariah’s face when she said she nearly got married had Sofi chuckling, it was a wild memory indeed. “I was really drunk and my abilities kinda spiraled out… somehow I managed to give the induction that the entire bar was about to be our witnesses in marriage” Whilst she couldn’t control a person’s mind, she could very well be persuasive in coercion which probably led to that. “I remember we somehow got ourselves a marriage contract and actually head over to find an officiant. I was also dressed in a wedding dress… It was wild. The only reason why I didn’t pull it off was that my friend found me and knocked me out before taking me back home.”

Sariah nodded a few times as she listened to Sofi explain how she handled the whole mind-reading thing “Well at least it’ll let you sleep in peace one in a while, I can’t imagine how crazy it must be to have other people’s thoughts crashing in with your own” she imagined it could be quite confusing and misleading at times, making you wonder where it was coming from “I mean I guess there’s worse things to really like than camels” she commented and chuckled slightly, she wasn’t sure she would ever really want to know what other people were thinking. She nodded her head slightly “Well clearly you have never been around a millionaire who isn’t getting their way, you might prefer the air sucking” she gave a roll of her eyes, it was definitely a challenge every day but someone had to do it.

“A few yeah, and before that I was an advisor to the previous ambassador” the speed she had moved up through the organization had been faster than most but that was simply because the gaps happened to open at the right time, Sariah had never really expected to find herself in the leader spot but when they were left without an ambassador she was the one willing to step up. “Well I’d hope not, they have to give you a chance to at least prove yourself, either way, right?” she lived to believe people were understanding enough that they wouldn’t count someone out without letting them even try first. “Well the human faction isn’t small, some people thought that it should be a promotion based on election rather than the board selection” which she could understand but there really hadn’t been time or resource to put that into place “Plus yeah...given how sudden it was, a lot of people hadn’t had the chance to see what I’m like as a leader” which she could again understand, fear of the unknown and all.

Hearing her drunk story about how she had gotten completely blackout drunk, ended up getting a marriage certificate, making people witness the wedding and then eventually being knocked out and dragged home was extremely amusing to Sariah who was laughing the whole time she was telling the story, pressing her hand to her stomach because it was hurting from how much she had laughed “Well whoever that friend was, I hope you bought them like a box of chocolates and a thank you card” she teased laughing softly, she had never done something quite as crazy as that while drunk “I swear alcohol makes you feel like you can do anything for a while and then when you wake up in the morning you realize how very wrong it was” she shook her head in an amused manner.

“So what do you actually do for fun when you’re not pushing yourself to go out and have fun at the club” she had already determined by now that it wasn’t really the kind of place either of them tended to go for fun, it just so happened that they had both been here tonight “Me I wouldn’t come here if it wasn’t for my friend dragging me but” she waved to the bartender and called for another drink which before long he had made and placed in front of her.

“It’s a crazy thing to endure, I’m surprised I wasn’t convinced I was crazy back then. When you automatically hear people’s thoughts without any warning, it’s weird shit” she shook her head, but then again, she actually thought she was dying the first time because she had been having plenty of nosebleeds around then. What a weird triggering situation. “People have weird fantasies, can’t really judge” she chuckled, but that camel dream was a really weird one, so much Sofi wondered if it was just a metaphor for something else. A premonition? Who knows. Sofi grimaced slightly when Riah mentioned a millionaire with an attitude, “Oh, I can almost picture that already. I work as a neuropsychologist so I have had a few… questionable clients over the years.” There were times when she wished she could really just have them clamp their mouths shut. “But I guess, you’re right. Better to deal with pissed off elementals.” That’s more of her forte.

“Definitely a story that would inspire a lot of people, I could see why I’ve heard good things about you” Sariah was still young and yet she was already exposed to a lot of things, no wonder the Organization remained the way it is, today. She needed those words, honestly, she was new to this leadership position and hearing from a leader, it helped Sofi feel a lot better, “I just hope I won’t let them down.” The blonde would be doing everything she could to make the tribe a better home and community for the Initia. They could start slowly but eventually, all those efforts wouldn’t go to waste. “I can understand why people think it’s slightly unfair to leave the decision to the ones who had a seat at the table rather than putting it out to others too, but I think we all want the best for our faction, no? Considering what you’ve done ever since you were elected, it’s probably wise to do it that way. I didn’t get my position because of the council either, nobody even knew anything except the previous Grand Master. It’s no wonder people feel suspicious about me.” Understandable too.

“Maybe you can teach me a few things about leadership” she teased, after tonight, she would’ve added another person in her contacts list. Having a friend she could learn more from is basically a cherry on top. “You certainly found that story amusing” she chuckled, she couldn’t blame her, when she woke up with a grade A pain on her muscles and a throbbing headache to boot, Sofi almost had a heart attack when she heard the story from her friend. “Please, I gave her a big thank you. Ugh, I still can’t believe I did that. I’m never going to get that drunk again” She could still drink, but moderately. The last thing Sofi wanted to do was recreate that again. “But it’s so good” she murmured, she did like to drink every time she’s done with work.

When asked what she does when she’s not here, she cleared her throat and placed both her elbows on the table while humming to herself, “I like to do yoga a lot. So there were times when I joined classes just for fun. I was thinking of joining a pilates class too but I never had the time. What do you do?” Maybe she could make some time. “I didn’t see you as the type to venture here a lot either, Sariah Holloway doesn’t seem like she had much free time, handling this and that must’ve been harsh. Why don’t you join me for pilates or yoga? It’ll be fun. And I’ll have a friend to do it with.”

“I’ll bet” she responded with a slight nod of her head, she couldn’t even imagine what must have gone through Sofi’s head when she heard voices all around her but had zero understanding to what they were or why, she supposed eventually she would realize that the people around her matched to the things she was hearing and it wasn’t just some crazy personality in her head. “I guess that’s what makes everyone unique” she responded laughing a little, the funny part is that was probably one of the lesser strange things to want in life. She raised a brow when she talked about her questionable clients, of course she didn’t ask any further because of patient confidentiality and all “Sometimes it feels like they’re not even in the same world as everyone else, they don’t even seem to see some of the struggles right in front of them” she shook her head a little, it was difficult to wrangle all those backgrounds and personalities that was for sure.

Sariah smiled softly when it came to her work, she was proud of what she had achieved, there had been times in her life where she was worried if she would ever feel happy when it came to her future, after everything she worked for had been taken from her but now she was older and gone through college, she realized that perhaps it was all pushing her towards this role. A role that let her do good things. “That fact you feel like that means you won’t” she spoke softly, reaching out to squeeze her shoulder slightly “People will often say intention doesn’t matter but I think it does a whole lot” she assured it with a nod of her head, wanting to be a good leader didn’t make you a good one no, but wanting to do the best for your people did. “I’m not sure how you would even practically put out a vote, considering most people in the city don’t even know a secret supernatural organization even exists?” she shrugged slightly, it was complicated for sure.

Sariah laughed when she said she could teach her some things about leadership “That ranks pretty high in the list of things I thought I’d never hear” she admitted with a shake of her head, she didn’t know what she was doing really, she didn’t have it down to an art or anything like that, she just tried to make the best decision she could each time she was faced with one. Sariah scrunched her nose in an amused manner when Sofi said she was never going to let herself get that drunk again “After drinking so much gin that I pretty much put myself off of it for life back in college, I’m right there with you” she laughed slightly “A glass of wine after work is about enough for me nowadays” enough to wind down but not take it too far.

Sariah nodded a few times when she said she liked doing yoga and pilates, she had to admit a part of her wanted to turn her nose up at the idea because they seemed like the kind of thing you didn’t do until you reached your ‘I’m officially no longer a kid’ phase. Perhaps she was still trying to hold onto her youth a little. “Making websites and software mostly” she laughed and shook her head “I know when I’m not working I’m still basically working” she chuckled, she enjoyed the problem solving and the creating though, it was a good outlet for her. When she invited her to come to a class with her she widened her eyes though “Are you sure? I have no idea what I’m doing, I never learned any of those crazy pose names” she giggled under her breath.
