Day turned to night, and yet Hangar 6 at the west side of the base was still opened. Inside the spacious hangar was Julian, who's occupying his time working on the circuits. The wiring system malfunctioned for the third time this week and they needed to fix it as soon as possible or there would be plenty of wrathful ends to come down to the field directly. He had no idea why the system kept failing though, since he was sure two days ago he had already rewired the entire thing. His junior told him that the jet fuel tanked and and damaged the internal components but it made no sense that it would tank deliberately like that without anyone else messing with it.

No one came upfront to admit anything. Not one soul. The nephilim had no proof to say either one of them did it so he clamped his mouth shut and ignored it. It wasn't his problem anyways, but what is his problem is the fact that the fuel tank kept leaking since morning no matter how many times he patches it up. He was slowly getting frustrated and it didn't help that his emotions are driven a lot more than any average human. It remained as one thing he never quite comprehend. With great power comes great responsibilities, they say. This was perhaps it. In exchange for his wings and nephilim abilities, he had to control the downside of it; struggling with attempting to keep his emotions drafted.

Julian spent three days at the base, fixing the wiring and changed the default systems to a more upgraded version of it while doing so. As he finished his last jet, he glanced over to the clock that was hung across the room. His hazel hues widened slightly before pushing himself out from underneath the jet and set his equipments aside. He was supposed to have an appointment with this photographer because the airline he also worked on was in need for a few promotional pictures. The appointment was supposedly at 2 pm at the Scenery cafe in the city center, but now the clock said it's already 1 45. How could he forget he had such appointment, especially when the secretary kept reminding him over and over again for the past week.

He'd blame the last minute call from his juniors to help them with the faulty wiring system that could very well jeopardize a pilot's life, but it wouldn't be right so he only had himself to blame. He was their senior, he had to take responsibility either way. He took off the military printed jacket and tossed it at his office and grabbed the car keys and his stuff before rushing to where he parked his car. Thank god for cardio training. Even the journey back into the city by car would take him at least 20-30 minutes tops. If he's fast and there's no traffic, he might be able to get there in 15 or so. During the entire car ride, Julian kept grumbling to himself how he should've put an alarm to alert him because when he's doing his job, he's pretty much in another dimension. Unless you threw something at him to get his attention, he's a literal vessel only. Not that anyone else had the guts to actually try.

By the time he got there, he was fumbling with his jacket that he threw on last minute as soon as he got out from his car and head towards the cafe just around the block. What he didn't notice was that he didn't even have his sights in front, which was just reckless in his case. His hair was a tousled mess and the next thing he knew, he bumped against someone. Thankfully his reflexes were quick enough to grab the person's hand before she could crash and fall face first to the pavement. “I'm so sorry about that, I wasn't looking where I was going..” Usually he wasn't that kind of guy who just rambled his way but today has been a tiring day and it's only 2 pm. Well, he did spend 3 days at the hangar. Surely the amount of sleep deprivation should kick in any moment now.

The Nephilim brought up a good point, about the saying. One that she maybe, hadn’t noticed before. “Yeah, everything in moderation, I suppose.” It could even apply to that saying. Using it all the time, wasn’t good. And it certainly couldn’t wiggle people out of the situations, they found themselves in. Everyone was different, some people were on the side of the good, some on the bad. Others were more complex. Neither completely on one or side or the other.

“Yeah, it would make things bit easier sometimes...but maybe, also a little dull, if there was no excitement, in our lives.” But sometimes, too much excitement was not the best. At least there was no judgement, on her reckless side, that got her into trouble so many times. “Yeah, in my life it seems to be a pattern. It’s not like I mean to seek trouble out on purpose...sometimes, I can’t help myself...my curiosity gets the better of me...and shit hits the fan, as they say.” She admitted. Julian brought up a rather good example. One she had been familiar with. “I think, you guessed that one correctly. It’s happened a few times.” she admitted. More than she cared to count. “Not everyone ends up thankful...and sometimes trying to help, causes more of a pickle than it solves issues.” But she still couldn’t help herself, when it came to wanting to help people.

As he asked for her age. The Celestial’s eyebrows creased slightly. “Your parents would be right.” she said with a soft laugh, at his nervous statement. Artemitra wasn’t as old, as some Supernaturals out there...granted, she’s known many many older one’s than her. But she was still older, compared to him. Artemis was half tempted, to ask him to guess. But that might prove to be a long and amusing game. So she’d spare him the attempts. “Since you seem so curious, I am 371.” she told him softly. “I know, I am not as old as some Supernaturals out there...but well, I am not getting any younger myself.” She joked.

It seemed like Julian could relate. No matter what Supernatural specie you were. It’d probably would sound crazy to the mortals. “Guess, every Supernatural has that struggle. Unless people believe in the Supernatural and are open to such things, then yeah...they’d probably think half the city is crazy if they come out with such things.” Was it really about oppression through? Artemis couldn’t help but wonder. Or fearing the unknown and wanting to eliminate it? Either way...the Celestials had been hunted down, for a long time and on the vulnerable list. “Guess so...either way, it sucks being on the list of doom and having to look over your shoulder, more so than others.”

Artemis nodded, her head as he mentioned him not going home for any holidays. And confirming her curiosity about Thanksgiving. “Do you miss home?” she asked curious. “I mean, you have family there..” Artemis didn’t know, if they were close or not. But he had a family to go home too, that was for sure. “Bringing work home, doesn’t sound like much fun. Not unless you love what you do...then it wouldn’t feel like work.” Or, that’s at least how she viewed it. She was fortunate to do something, she had a passion for. And didn’t mind doing it at home. “Okay...I’ll give you that one.” The Celestial spoke, as he defended himself. Giving him a smile.

Julian is the epitome of searching for trouble when one shouldn't and getting that specifically as the result of things when he least expects it. Though he was sure he couldn't say much because he decided to take this on his own, his curiosity doesn't have a limit but his conscience does, which does account for everything else, he supposed. "It does feel a bit controlled when you try to do everything in moderation though. I guess it is just me but I feel like a person should have a certain portion of being free-spirited, you know? Live your life to the fullest and all those things. You never know when you would spend your last day so why not be reckless for once and just… loosen up?" At least that's what Julian has been trying to tell himself for so long, to loosen up for once before everything ends and god knows how much he'd begin to regret all the things he could've done.

"So there you have if for a little spice of excitement in our lives" he pointed, chuckling softly at his own allegations. It does feel like the angel child was slowly becoming quite carefree with the Celestial in a few ways more than one as a new friend he just met almost two hours ago. "Being curious is nothing a human should fault themselves for feeling, like I said, it's a basic human nature and instinct to feel that way and whilst you may not be a 'human', your vessel is still one and I'm pretty sure you still eat and drink and sleep like any normal human being" he murmured, to him, that pretty much outlines the human in Artemis and sometimes, they don't even need to be a human physically to feel humane which does break the irony for the said humans to be projecting kindness by spreading it all across the globe. Guess being a preacher isn't an easy work. But then again, what is?

"But to be curious and reckless, we need to equip ourselves with proper self-preservation and survival skills so to say, to last us in a long run, no?" Either that was the military setting in his head engulfing every parts of his working body into it or it was just plain Julian Lockhart saying that. It doesn't matter at the end of the day though seeing as Julian would end up being the same. That's what he'd like to keep telling himself anyway. He rubbed the back of his head with a sheepish grin and chuckled, "Yeah, not such a proper question to be asking a lady, I know" he had a shy smile adorning his lips and was careful not to let the blush play on his cheeks too much, darn emotions. His eyes widened a bit upon hearing Artemis' answer to his question, "Oh wow, 371? That's like late 18th century? 17th? 371 may not be as long as others but that is still so long ago. I mean not to say you're old or something."

He pointed to himself and snickered because compared to most, he is younger than his peers, much less her; a supernatural who roamed the earth for long, "I'm only a raw age of 26. Younger than most people too" But then again Nephilim didn't attain immortality until 3 years ago unless they used immortality amulets that he knew only Ailward Guards are granted by. "Well then we're all crazy that way, right? Supernaturals… humans… can't all be black and white too." He couldn't fathom how it would've been for one to run her entire life, it would've been no less than miserable.

Did he miss home? That was a hard question for Julian, he didn't know what to say truthfully but he did miss his family and he loves them dearly, every single one of them. "I do miss home, it would be a lie if I said I didn't… I think it's been a while since I came back. The last time I was back in England was on my wedding" it felt like something just struck his heart and he had to swallow hard, "Well… a wedding that didn't quite happen." The memory of Maleah Savaryn was still fresh in his head.

Julian seemed to have a good outlook on the reckless scenario. He was right, you only lived once right? Unless of course you were a Phoenix or an Ailward Aspect, which were reborn. The Celestial wasn’t aware of other species, that had the ability to regenerate/be reborn...unless someone brought them back from the dead. But being resurrected, didn’t seem so fun in her own mind. The memory loss, learning everything again. She’d rather have the one life she had, and know it was well spent; had memories, made a difference...even if she was reckless from time to time. “You might have a point...just don’t get yourself into trouble, that you can’t get out of.” Sometimes being reckless had it’s downfalls too.

His words caused a slight giggle to escape. “I think, I’ve had plenty.” And more spice and excitement in her life, kept popping up every once in a while. “How is it, you know how to bring up such good points all the time?” It made it bit harder to find the opposing view to his words. Finding herself agreeing with him more and more. He was right about Celestials eating, sleeping, drinking. “Celestial’s are also prone to getting ill..like common flues and colds. So yeah...we are in that aspect, every bit human. Expect we don’t age.” But certain things could kill them, like heavy injuries, poison and such. But old age, could not physically kill them; that was one thing they were immune to.

There he goes again. “Okay, okay you win on the debate of recklessness.” She said, playfully but also truthfully. She knew a little of that; self defence, power development, preservation of one's self; came far along in her survival over the centuries; when she was moving from place to place, trying to stay away from hunters.

His reaction to her age, and that shy smile, along with that smile was adorable. The young Nephilim was endearing. Artemis just shook her head, smiling at Julian. His cuteness was something to behold. “Mid 17th century ...Exact year was 1649.” The Celestial rose a slight eyebrow at his words, about it not being old, but still long ago. Sometimes, she did feel old; for having lived so long. Other Times, she was regarded as a spring chicken, in comparison to how old some of the other Supernaturals were.

When her new found friend, stated his age. Artemis let out a slight whine. “Now, I feel old.” 26. Julian was still a baby in that aspect. It felt like forever ago, since Artemis was 26 herself. It was still early years for her and self discovery really. At that time, she was learning as much as she could about her own abilities/and how to control them. Celestial Energy was powerful, and during her prime years; she was quite skilled and crafty with it. But after 100 years of being prisoner; she was slowly tapping back into her magic/not being so afraid to use it again, like she was for a while. “You’re still so young, have so much ahead of you.” There was her wisdom talking, and maybe slight nostalgia. As sometimes she missed her younger days.

“I am not sure, if crazy is the right word? We’re all unique...mind you, I am sure some Supernaturals lose their sanity...so crazy, can describe just those...maybe” To put it lightly. Of course, she didn’t mean to pick on those, that lost their sanity. It was just a comparison.

Listening to him talk about England. The Celestial didn’t expect what he was about to say next. Wedding..He got married? Or...almost? She wasn’t sure what to say to that. Mainly because she didn’t know the circumstances of the situation. Did his bride leave him at the alter? Or something else? She didn’t want to pry. “I...I am sorry. Weddings are supposed to be happy occasions...not…” she didn’t know the right word to use, but anyways. Compassion and sympathy was in her eyes. She didn’t blame him, if he didn’t come back home, because of that situation. It must have had bad memories for him.

"I get that older sister outlook from you, no wonder you remind me of my own sister, your words could correlate the same with hers, it would be creepy if it was someone else" he pointed out teasingly, Jane Ann always said the same thing to him, to always be keeping himself out of trouble, fearing that one day, his curiosity and recklessness may get him into a type of trouble he could not walk away from. "I'll be sure to keep myself safe from those things, don't worry. I'm not that… bad, yet." One can never know what the future holds, right? His curiosity often got him hooked, but there were also times when Julian knew when enough is enough. The Nephilim crossed his arms as he grinned triumphantly, "Can't help it, you know. Sometimes when a person is naturally talented in one area, they just flourish. I can't help it if I'm charming or optimistic, or that I am right when I am right" he shot playfully, it was rare to see him being so outgoing like this, especially with someone he had only just met a while ago, but Artemis gave him a breath of fresh air, she seemed determined and passionate, the two things he could appreciate from a person.

Perhaps, a laugh one or two wouldn't hurt. Not when it's with someone who could give it back all the same. "So, the same as most immortals then. You just don't age. Did you really get into this vessel age the moment you fell or do your growth spurt stop at a certain age?" Don't mind his curiosity, it wasn't every day you get to find out a friend of yours is a Celestial; a fallen star. For someone who never knew they had people like that, Julian was bound to be curious. "Oh wow, 17th century huh? I wonder how different things were back then" The brunette wasn't a big fan of history in general but everyone was curious about how different things were, once upon a time, not just him. And for a supernatural to be roaming around at that time period, how hard was it? Especially for a species that wasn't even known by many such as Artemis' own? How many of them were there?

"Hey, you're not that old. I mean, not old in comparison to other supernaturals? Come on, at 26, people still have yet to treat me like a proper adult even though I literally tower over them most of the time. My team even refused to acknowledge I was no longer 23" he grumbled, it was the same team he had worked with over 4 years ago and their friendships were solid gold. "Okay now that you've said all those stuff about having so much ahead of me, now you sound old." He purposely shook his head as he scrunched his nose teasingly at the Celestial. "Okay then, perhaps not crazy. Unique, as you so uniquely placed it, Miss Bluemoon" he narrowed his eyes playfully as he stared at the artistry displayed at the walls, some of it brought nostalgic memories but it was better to forget about them and only take the good from it, such as it was when Artemis asked him about his wedding.

"You don't need to feel sorry for me, Artemis. It's all been done for. It's in… The past" He couldn't say it didn't hurt him still because that's a lie, but what was the point in all of that? "You know I don't mean to keep you for long, I still have to check in my shift for today and I'm sure you have other things to do as well, I really look forward to working with you, maybe we'll see each other the next time? Who knows, perhaps you'll get to meet me again once you stop by the headquarters."

The elder sister outlook? Artemitra rose a slight eyebrow at Julian. “Please tell me, it’s not some teasing quip about my age.” She could probably pass for his sister; if the people saw their playful banter and didn’t know any different. Shaking her head in slight amusement. But in a way, maybe he was partially right. Artemis did have a tendency to look out for those that were younger than herself/even some of the elder friends in her life; despite her impulsive ways. The look of amusement grew on her face, as Julian went on to tease her some more; especially about his qualities. Shaking her head, with a soft laugh. Talented in one area? Huh? She thought to herself. “Don’t let it get to your head.” she poked his side playfully. Whilst Artemis got on with people quite well; it’s been a while since she instantly clicked with someone so smoothly like she did with Julian.

It seemed like her new Nephilim friend was indeed curious. It also felt refreshing that he didn’t think of her as some freak of nature; or claim she was toying with him; like some people would. “I looked like this...when I first fell….well minus the modern day clothes of course, back then, my clothes were more...in tune with the Era I first came to know.” The prospect of stars aging was a confusing one; as Stars did age; well to a certain point; before they each fell. “A start tends to look the age; they reached before they fell. If a star was in their 20’s...they would be in a human form of a 20 year old, if a star was older, like 40..then they’d look as such.” But most fallen stars were pretty young, around her age, teenagers. Only few she had known were older like Atticus.

“Much different...sometimes, things felt a bit simpler. People knew how to survive off of simple things; make more use of them. I wasn’t surrounded by luxury, so what little I came to have, was a gift really.” Now-a-days, Luxury was indeed everywhere. Like people could not live without it. They lived and breathed it. The Celestial was sure, it wasn’t exactly that healthy. “But then again, things were also dangerous; if people asked too many questions; you would become the center of attention and Hunters would be after you.” There were many up’s and many down’s, in all different era’s. Medicine was probably more trickier in much much older days then hers;  Hence why a lot of Celestials did not survive in some ages when illness struck, as they did not get the proper treatment; they would get now-a-days. “But I have to admit, seeing the world change...grow...and be aware, of how many Kings and Queens ruled over the time, quiet interesting.” Politics wasn’t much her favorite subject, but when it came to History of royalty; politics in that seemed a bit more intriguing.

Yep, there he was again. Pointing out the obvious. “No, but in comparison to you...I am old.” she said teasingly. “You’re practically a spring chicken.” But the Celestial did know plenty of Supernaturals that were in fact, a lot older than she was. So next to them, she was still young. But with Julian being so tall; he would probably tower over a lot of people. Not just his fellow colleagues and team-mates. “Well, maybe that’s not such a bad thing for you. I mean, better than them calling you old, for being 26.” But it was probably also it frustrating, given the level of authority he held over his group. When Julian proceeded to tease her about being old, about the comment she made. Her nose scrunched up slightly, with a giggle. “What can I say? Sometimes the wisdom of my years comes out, through comments like that.” Catching the way his eyes playfully narrowed. Throwing him a teasing look back. Herself continuing to glance around at the art; that was displayed on the walls.

The moment of playfulness seemed to end quickly, with the subject of his almost wedding. Artemis was the sort of person, that would apologise a lot. Julian would come to know that about her; just like any of her friends did. “I can’t help, that I am….It’s just...sad.” Artemis said softly. The Celestial could tell, he had been hurt by it. Whatever had happened; it would take a while to fully heal from something like that.

“Oh don’t worry. I quite enjoyed your company.” Artemis said honestly, giving him a soft smile. Artemitra didn’t mind the little detour of the alleyway art. “You should probably get some rest, god knows you need it.” Reminding him; of the fact he didn’t sleep in the last few days. The Celestial smiled softly, giving the Nephilim a soft nod. “I look forward to working with you too. Indeed...if you see a girl wandering around with a camera...it’s probably me.” Artemis would make sure to visit the head-qaurters in the next few days; to begin her work for the project. Now that the contract was pretty signed/agreed to. All that was left was for the work to commence.

A chuckle escaped him when she worried herself over the teasing, "Don't worry, it's not. My older sister is not that much older than me. If it makes you feel any better, you definitely look more youthful than I am" he reassured lightly. Talking about sister made him miss his own, who was probably off working in the shores somewhere in Australia. She didn't give a few calls back which does make him worry. But she could take care of himself, he knows that too, which was why he didn't concern himself over it. Artemis, however, well, she's doing a pretty good job at occupying his mindspace right now, she reminds him a lot of Jane Ann. Headstrong and daring all the same, while also having that vulnerability glass bead to them. It was something refreshing. "I can't promise you that" he quipped playfully when he told him he shouldn't let it get to his head. Generally, the Nephilim wasn't hard to mingle around with people, but there were times when others decided to take the leap or not, he's just there as the mediator.

When she told him she fell looking like that still, Julian's mouth parted in awe, that was something he never thought he would get the chance to hear about. Immortals are one thing, even the Nephilim attained immortality shortly after the comet and most of the supernatural species are either immortals or they possess extended life expectancy. But to fall looking like an adult already, that definitely piqued his interest. He had plenty of questions running around his head, most of which he was sure would probably overwhelm the Celestial more than anything. That subsequently made the raven-haired male back down and keep it to himself. Perhaps at another time. "I assume most stars are young in physicality then." After all, Artemis did look quite youthful in comparison to her actually age that was close to four centuries of worth. "To me, luxury and privilege are two different things. Not that much different probably but I still choose to see it that way." One may call him naive while the other may as well call him visionary. He didn't give up hope that the world is all bad though, that's one step at a time.

Considering how much he's been disappointed by countless people who come and go in his life, that was saying a lot. Julian had a frown etched on his features, so they had enemies to look out for too, much like any of them. "Selfish people are always there, huh." It didn't take a genius to know that the Celestials possess a wide range of energy that could be used in about anything, it was no wonder hunters would come after them. After all, some people can be violent and selfish to the core. It's always there. "I imagine being an immortal who lived your life seeing how things change from bit by bit must've been fascinating. In a sense." They could observe just how different the ages would have gone by and it's a beauty. "Probably should've seen how much they babied me. It gets insufferable attitude times but they're lucky I love them or I would've shoved them into the lockers before locking in up for the next shift until someone realizes there are people inside" he huffed, yeah he could use a break in that.

Teasing had never been much of his forte, not that he would know considering it's not as if he interacted with many people to begin with, but he knows one thing for sure; he strives at what he does, so if he wants to tease, he'll tease. He did block out the part regarding his wedding though, it wasn't worth remembering all the details that never left his head since that day. He could not afford to break down in the middle of the day so he kept it inside, as usual. Thankfully, he didn't need to stand for it long since he needed to get back to the base and he was sure Artemis had somewhere else to be at. "Well, let's hope next time we'll meet without having us bumping into each other, falling to the ground doesn't seem to be the better option of the two, have a good day, Miss Bluemoon" he cooed playfully and waved before exiting the alley, his silhouette slowly disappearing as he wrapped up his distance from the Celestial.
