Day turned to night, and yet Hangar 6 at the west side of the base was still opened. Inside the spacious hangar was Julian, who's occupying his time working on the circuits. The wiring system malfunctioned for the third time this week and they needed to fix it as soon as possible or there would be plenty of wrathful ends to come down to the field directly. He had no idea why the system kept failing though, since he was sure two days ago he had already rewired the entire thing. His junior told him that the jet fuel tanked and and damaged the internal components but it made no sense that it would tank deliberately like that without anyone else messing with it.

No one came upfront to admit anything. Not one soul. The nephilim had no proof to say either one of them did it so he clamped his mouth shut and ignored it. It wasn't his problem anyways, but what is his problem is the fact that the fuel tank kept leaking since morning no matter how many times he patches it up. He was slowly getting frustrated and it didn't help that his emotions are driven a lot more than any average human. It remained as one thing he never quite comprehend. With great power comes great responsibilities, they say. This was perhaps it. In exchange for his wings and nephilim abilities, he had to control the downside of it; struggling with attempting to keep his emotions drafted.

Julian spent three days at the base, fixing the wiring and changed the default systems to a more upgraded version of it while doing so. As he finished his last jet, he glanced over to the clock that was hung across the room. His hazel hues widened slightly before pushing himself out from underneath the jet and set his equipments aside. He was supposed to have an appointment with this photographer because the airline he also worked on was in need for a few promotional pictures. The appointment was supposedly at 2 pm at the Scenery cafe in the city center, but now the clock said it's already 1 45. How could he forget he had such appointment, especially when the secretary kept reminding him over and over again for the past week.

He'd blame the last minute call from his juniors to help them with the faulty wiring system that could very well jeopardize a pilot's life, but it wouldn't be right so he only had himself to blame. He was their senior, he had to take responsibility either way. He took off the military printed jacket and tossed it at his office and grabbed the car keys and his stuff before rushing to where he parked his car. Thank god for cardio training. Even the journey back into the city by car would take him at least 20-30 minutes tops. If he's fast and there's no traffic, he might be able to get there in 15 or so. During the entire car ride, Julian kept grumbling to himself how he should've put an alarm to alert him because when he's doing his job, he's pretty much in another dimension. Unless you threw something at him to get his attention, he's a literal vessel only. Not that anyone else had the guts to actually try.

By the time he got there, he was fumbling with his jacket that he threw on last minute as soon as he got out from his car and head towards the cafe just around the block. What he didn't notice was that he didn't even have his sights in front, which was just reckless in his case. His hair was a tousled mess and the next thing he knew, he bumped against someone. Thankfully his reflexes were quick enough to grab the person's hand before she could crash and fall face first to the pavement. “I'm so sorry about that, I wasn't looking where I was going..” Usually he wasn't that kind of guy who just rambled his way but today has been a tiring day and it's only 2 pm. Well, he did spend 3 days at the hangar. Surely the amount of sleep deprivation should kick in any moment now.

The longer Julian watched her; the more the Celestial began to feel his gaze on her. Almost like an x-ray vision, trying to see deep within her. Like he was searching for something. The intensity of his gaze boring into her. And the young looking woman, took note of his purple hues seemed to get more brighter, more intense the longer he stared. A slight confused, and concerned expression crossing her face. “Is everything alright, Julian?” Artemis breathed out softly. “You look….” Trailing off; Artemitra couldn’t even find the right word, to describe his expression. It looked like, if he concentrated any harder...a vessel might be popping.

Even though she barely knew him; The Celestial felt some sort of concern for the male in front of her. Especially what had him looking so...puzzled? Annoyed? Or whatever it is was, that had his face scowled up in concentration so hard. The Celestial was a very compassionate person, at times she cared a little bit too much; which proved to be a mistake in the past. But on the most part, she couldn’t help it really; it was always in her nature to care. Even if sometimes, she had regretted caring about the wrong people.

Artemitra had never really revealed her identity-at least not on purpose. But a lot of Supernaturals always spotted her with more ease. Especially if they had more knowledge than the Nephilim before her. Otherwise, it was something she kept to herself-unless she felt ready to share the ‘truth’ with someone, she was getting close to. No matter how hard, she tried to lead a normal life; sometimes her own supernatural being always caught up with her-sooner or later. It was inevitable, especially with that faint glow. The glow, that always seemed to make her kind a target.

As she lifted up her cup of coffee, she took a few more sips. Listening to him speak. It seemed like he indeed was taking on the responsibility because he was the leader. His explanation was making sense, the Celestial couldn’t argue with that. Finding herself, nodding slightly in acknowledgement. As he seemed to own up, to taking this on when he first took over the team; that was a bit responsibility on his shoulders. But it was noble, that he owned up to it. Most people, she had met wouldn’t have owned up...at least not easily.

His words about Evermore, struck her by surprise. Perhaps he was the first person, whom spoke so outwardly like that. But, did he have a point? Were they all too lenient? There were so many...if not too many Supernaturals living in the same City. Something was bound to happen eventually-even with the treaty of peace in place. “Mhh, maybe you do have a good point.” Artemis muttered; deep in thought. As she took another sip of her coffee.

The mention of a tattoo, at first didn’t register with her fully. Even though she heard him speak. It didn’t click with her, he assumed her natural markings was a tattoo. As she seemed deep in thought, she muttered softly. “Huh? I don’t have a tattoo.” As she seemed to snap back to reality...she noticed his gaze was on her wrist. Glancing down towards her right wrist; she saw that her constellation markings were making their way out into the open. No wonder that had brought up the questions from the Nephilim. “Oh...that….urgh….it’s...” Instantly the Celestial’s mind was ticking. Trying to find the words to say. ‘It’s not a real Tattoo….it’s a fake one?’ Artemis tried to think off; how to explain the markings on her wrist. But nothing seemed to come to mind. ‘Oh god...I am digging myself a grave, with this mishap.’ Maybe the truth, is what needed to be said. Since she practically put herself on the spot-light, with the words; I don’t have a tattoo.

Looking at the constellation markings on her wrist. Julian was spot on as to what it was. “Yes...it’s a Constellation of Canis Major.” She admitted after a few seconds. “It’s known as the Greater Dog. Leapas.” The young woman, had no idea how far his knowledge of stars and constellations stretched. Hopefully, some of what she had said-he knew. Otherwise, she might have to give him bit more of a background on astrology and her constellation in particular.

“The advice, is with good intentions.” She said with a soft smile. Hoping, that somehow they might drop the conversation about her markings; but it might not happen. He seemed rather curious about her.

It was hard not to stare at her, the glow she emitted, it was striking. Nowhere near blinding the nephilim but there was no doubt that she could even do that if she wanted to. Julian has never met anyone who radiated that kind of glow and energy alike, not once in his journeys, and believe him, he has been to plenty of places due to his line of work. The longer he stared, albeit not being maintaining a leveled stance of subtlety too, the more Artemis noticed and that was when Julian dropped his gaze altogether, blushing profusely for being caught doing such an act. He was never really one to pry much into other people’s matters since it doesn’t concern him but something about her screams enigma to him. Was it the glow? Or was it really her in general?

When she asked him if everything was fine, the raven-haired male cleared his throat a few times before nodding faintly. “Yeah, everything’s fine. I just got too much sidetracked in my head is all.”  Oh yeah sure, Julian, ‘sidetracked’, whatever you say, boy. Even though he’s been in this profession for at least 5 years of his life, he’s not exactly the best when it comes to concealing his emotions, and he could blame that coming from the heritage he is in. Secretly, he knew it was him too, but Julian being Julian, who are sometimes driven by his own pride and ego, would never admit to that. His older sister always chided him about him, to which he turned a deaf ear. He knew whenever he’s focused on one thing, or someone, he’d turn into a whole magnifying glass if he was being real and honest.

In all honesty, Julian had nothing against the faction system that they run in the eternal city, he heard the peace treaty they joined hands in agreement kept it stabilized for the very least and that prospect is very intriguing and interesting. The idea of peace, who wouldn’t wish for that? Especially coming from a species that is also a lot more focused on warriors and whatnot, all he’s known was fighting. Maybe that’s for the best. He only ever became a studious guy when it comes to academics because it brought a smile on his parents’ face and what child wouldn’t want to witness that? The angel child was in luck that he found interest in engineering, to which he pursued after his graduation and evolved better into the world after he left England.

Meeting new people and environments, it changed him for the better. He was able to learn more about the world they live in and how everyone was not what they posed to be. Though he would give credit to his ‘judging’ self to Cora, someone he knew to be Aspect of Darkness, who served him as a friend, sister, and mentor. Following the flustered state the female in front of him brought herself in, he quirked a questioning eyebrow and wondered why all the panic and fuss over a simple tattoo? Or is it really just a tattoo? It’s easy to spot that it wasn’t as ‘casual’ as it appeared to be. He’s seen tribal marks and the likes, and even though that could pass off easily as an ink, something about it doesn’t sit right with him and seeing the reaction elicited from Artemis only confirmed his suspicions all along.

It seemed like she was contemplating whether to tell him the truth or just went along with it. Unfortunately for the celestial, the nephilim already noted the whole ‘I don’t have a tattoo’ escaping her, earlier. There was definitely no way she can lie and expect him to believe, though if that is what she wishes, he’d comply since it doesn’t concern him on a bigger scale. Artemis is a client, just one of the many he met over the past few months. A constellation of Canis Major? That’s new.

“Yes, I know what it’s scientifically called and the casual name, but a mark of it, that does put you out to be nowhere near mundane, doesn’t it? And I wasn’t just tired to note all the glow around you…” Thank god, he couldn’t handle his eyesight being ruined. It’s one of his best features and he used it a lot in work. Seeing is believing they say. “Question is, why do you have it etched on your wrist?” Leaning closer in front, he squinted his eyes slightly and had an unwavering gaze on her. “What are you, Miss Bluemoon?” he enquired.

The Celestial slightly furrowed her eyebrows, hearing what Julian said. Side-tracked? She wasn’t entirely too sure, if there was an element of truth to his words. Considering, the hard few days he’s been having. But it’s the way, his eyes kept lingering on her. As tempting as it was; The Celestial was trying not to stare back, because of his purple hues. Unlike him, she tried to go about; as if they were both mundane. But clearly, they both knew better than that. It was just a matter, of whom would be asking questions first. And judging by the looks of things; Artemitra was not the first one to crack under that thought.

She wasn’t usually so panicky; but the Nephilim had caught her off guard. And given her imprisonment for 100 or so odd years; it made her kind very jittery, especially if people started to ask questions about their existence and what they were. But, it’s not like Julian meant her any harm right? So far, there seemed nothing dangerous about the young man in front of her. Mainly just curious...maybe too curious for his own good. But Dangerous? That could also be debatable-depending how good of a liar one could be. He genuinely, seemed to kind, to be a trickster like that. But she had only known him for a few moments. However, the Celestial was just trying to tell her, it was his curiosity getting the better of him.

Clearly, there was no way to weasel her way out of this one. It wasn’t the best way, to admit what she was either. But, the Celestial didn’t see, that she had any other choice right now.

‘It’s always the glow. Can’t me and my kind for once, have a normal life?’ Artemis wondered to herself. The thought, always creeping back into her mind. Anytime, someone noticed the glow around her, or her fellow Celestial friends. It was hard, trying to fit in and be mundane. When, the odds seemed against them. His words, made her raise a slight eyebrow. “That’s a little bit too bold, wouldn’t you say?” Artemitra asked. Her voice still remained soft and pleasant towards the male in front of her. “Considering, you yourself...are nowhere near Mundane either,...but I am not pressing questions.” Then again, with him. It was much easier to suss out; what he was. Even if her own curiosity was bubbling, to find out a bit more about Nephilims. It wasn’t her right, to pry.

Between glancing between the markings on her wrist, and back towards his face. The Celestial wondered how to best explain everything to Julian. “It’s not exactly, a matter of choice.” Artemis breathed out, as he asked about the markings on her wrist. The markings were on her wrist, from the first day that she had fallen out of the sky. If she would have chosen otherwise; they wouldn’t be on there, in attempts to hide what she was bit better. Her hues fixated on his, as he leaned bit closer. “Are you, sure you want to know?” The Celestial breathed out softly. Her tone of voice bit quieter-in case anyone else around them might be eavesdropping. His unwavering gaze, seemed to answer that question, by itself. He was intent on finding out, about what she was.

A slight, sigh escaped her lips. It seemed; like he wouldn’t drop the subject any time soon. “Not here….there’s too many people around.” Artemis shook her head softly. It was a matter, she felt better about speaking, in private. Not in a very public place. “Look, If I promise to tell you...what I am. You need to promise me, this will stay between us….you can’t go around, and tell others about it!” Before, she would proceed to tell him, the truth about her species and existence. She needed to make sure, that he knew how to keep a secret. And she in return, would keep his secret too. “But, just think about it all...a Constellation...and I glow. What glows?” she said softly, trying to give him some sort of a hint; before they’d be somewhere private enough to talk about it, properly. But, there were clues in her words all along. Julian was smart-he’d figure it out. And what, would still confuse him. She’d tell him, or confirm whatever questions he might have.

He knew he wasn’t exactly the most subtle person there was to exist, it wasn’t easy to keep that cover on him when it’s never existed in the first place. Even if his initial intention wasn’t to pry into what she is and who she is, it’s hard to keep his curiosity down when he’s been that kid since a child. Curiosity kills the cat, they say. But what they forgot to embed was that satisfaction brought it back. His hazel hues never left her, he was way too deep and invested in this to turn away now. Sometimes, that’s exactly what got Julian in trouble. Had he kept his mouth shut and sealed, he probably would be able to lead a normal and mundane life after all. But no, the Nephilim just had to spout things out because his emotions won’t allow him to place a wedge above it.

Julian is a soldier, he may not be a full one due to his current occupation, but the reason why he was in this field was due to his upcoming background from the military itself. His father had been an air marshall, and here he is today, a pilot of his own right and an engineer to help him work the sides. It was a good mix of both to keep him balanced. The angel child saw the way Artemis was being quite jittery, he could see the way she tapped her feet and the way her eyes tried to wander around trying to find another topic to talk about. However, knowing how persistent Julian could be, the chances of that happening is close to none. Perhaps he was being petty, but he couldn’t find it easy to trust someone who couldn’t offer him the same amount back. It’s a give and take situation, and right now, he wanted to see just how determined she is.

It didn’t ease the guilt off his chest seeing the situation he placed her in, but he wished that she would tell him the truth so that this entire thing can be resolved without any further misunderstandings and the likes. Julian scoffed and chuckled dryly at her remark about him not being mundane. “Well, you are not wrong about that part. I’m not fully mundane. But that’s where the trick sets in, Miss Bluemoon,” he leaned closer with his arms still crossed, and stare at her straight in the eyes, “I’m actually half mundane. Half human, so that makes me a lot more mundane than you can be. In a technical and literal concept, of course.” With that, he leaned back into his seat with a twinkle of mischievousness in his purple-tinted hazel hues.

“There’s something about you that I couldn’t fully pinpoint, but what I know is that you don’t reek of much human, no offense, you still look as humanly as possible,” he pursed his lips lightly and shrugged absentmindedly, “I just want to see how far our trust goes, that’s all. I’m not pushing you to tell me what you are because I would still like to continue this professional working relationship between us, but a little bit of that would be fine too, you tell me and I tell you.” If only things were always as easy as it was said. His eyebrows furrowed in question when she said the tattoo wasn’t a matter of choice, so she’s getting somewhere. “I wouldn’t ask if I didn’t wish to know, Artemis, but if it’s too much, you don’t have to, I don’t mean to pry” his tone turned softer as his eyes did too, putting a young lady like her in an uncomfortable and tough predicament, that wasn’t the road he was opting for, not with someone he would probably develop a friendship with.

But seeing as her voice had turned one volume down and timider, he was getting there. Glancing around to see the state they were in, she wasn’t wrong, it’s a public place and to divulge in such things there, would be a bad and reckless move. “I promise.” He finished his coffee, and got up from his seat, brushing the helm of his shirt and beckoned for her to follow him. “Come on, I know a place, kinda” wasn’t exactly a cheery place, but it’s quiet and offers them privacy better than most. A walk around that alley filled with paintings all around had always offered him serenity. Julian placed a few dollar bills on top of the table and guided her outside, making his own way to the said place just a few blocks over. “Who’s there to tell, as you may recall, I’m not exactly in the place where I can be potty mouth about supernatural existence when I too, am one. The question is, what are you,” he recalled what she said before leaving earlier.

Something that glows and associated with constellations? “In general? I’d say stars? But they’re not.. Actual living beings, right?” He’s beginning to see the irony in this already. Soon, they reached the destination, where he could already spot frames of paintings hung by the corner. No one was there at this time of the day. Good.

The Celestial wondered, if Julian was always so curious about other Supernaturals; and so blunt about it. Or was she, some special case, that made him extra curious? It was a bit of a tricky question, to say the least. Even if the Celestial avoided eye-contact slightly, under his slightly intense gaze; Artemis could feel his eyes on her. Unwavering. Almost like staring at her, would make the answer jump up at him. Artemis couldn’t keep quiet. “Are you always this curious, about everyone you meet? And bluntly asking questions?” Unable to stop, herself from pointing out, his not so subtle technique.

You’d think that after her many centuries of being alive, that Artemitra would have been used to awkward situations right now. But nope...the Celestial still felt awkward, in situations like this. Knowing those two, would be spending quite a lot of time together. There needed to be an element of trust between them. But, the matter at hand, it would probably require a bit more trust. And that was something that didn’t always come easily. As far as the Celestial could tell; Julian didn’t have alternative motives. He could be trusted. She just hoped, it wasn’t a wrong guess.

As he leaned across the table; Artemis took the last few sips of her coffee. Her chocolate hues, fixated on his once more as he spoke. “Touche, you make a good point.” Artemis breathed out, as he somewhat corrected her, saying that he was half mundane. The young looking woman pursed her lips, looking deep in thought. Seeing the mischievous twinkle in her eyes. And Mitra though, she was the one that attracted trouble. But his persistent attitude, could no doubt attract trouble too. “It’s been a while since I met someone as curious as you.”

Hearing him, use the word reek made the Celestial scrunch up her face slightly. Not the best term to use. “Gee, couldn’t think of a better term?” she asked teasingly. That was probably quite tricky, unlike a few Supernaturals. Celestials looked more mundane, yet unique in their own way. Making  it hard to pin-point what they were; unless people knew the legends. “I appreciate that. Sometimes, trust just comes a little harder for me.” she told him honestly. It was something, few people were helping her get past. “How far, trust between us grows...it might take a little more time.” If Julian wasn’t her temporary boss; she could see herself being a friend of his. Maybe that professionalism will grow into a friendship. He was a nice guy. “And as little, as I know you. I feel like I can trust you...I just hope,  it won’t come and bite me in the ass, if I am wrong.” And she hoped, she wasn’t. A part of her wondered, if putting her faith in him, to keep her secret was a wise choice.

Even if she was much older than she looked; Artemis made her fair share of mistakes. Like everyone. She’s wasn’t perfect. Everyone had their flaws. As his gaze softened, it made her feel slightly more at ease. Nodding, at his promise. Artemis would take his word for it. Since they were both finished with the coffee. Artemis gathered up her things, before putting her bag over her shoulder. Following him out of the cafe. Artemis was following his lead, wondering what place he had in mind. “Honestly, I’d be surprised if you had the audacity to do such a thing, when you share in the Supernatural world.” Curious and Blunt; yes. Those words could describe Julian well. But for him to Potty mouth, other Supernaturals? Nah, she didn’t think so.

Stars. Spot on. His question, made her smile slightly. “You tell me Julian. We live in a world of Nephilims, Valkyrs, Dhampirs, Diviners, Phoenix’s, Lycans, Niveis and goodness knows what else. If all those exist...who’s to say,  that Fallen Stars can’t exist either?” The Celestial spoke softly, putting the emphasis on the Fallen. “You’re not wrong, with that guess.” Taking notice of the place, he had led them too. Artemis looked curious, at the paintings; that were visible on the first corner. “You like art?” The Celestial asked him, with a soft smile. It seemed, bit of an interesting place, to have this discussion. But it would do.

Returning to the subject at hand. Artemis looked towards the Nephilim; whom seemed to tower over her, by a few good inches. “I was a Star in the skies once….before I fell. The correct term, for my kind is a Celestial.  We are the human embodiment, of fallen stars. In some respect, quiet rare species. There’s not many of us around, we’ve always been easily hunted down.” Their glow, made them vulnerable. And one of the reasons, why Celestials were hunted. Artemis gathered, this new found information would probably give Julian more questions.

“Feel free to toss any questions at me if you wish. I am sure, you probably have plenty more.” The Celestial gave him a soft smile. Now that they were in a private place and he knew what she was. Artemis was willing to answer them. It seemed, like the trust she was placing in the young angel child, was bigger than she first thought. And maybe a good test, to see how much she could actually trust him.

Artemis reminds him of someone. Someone very particular in his life, someone that gave him hope when he thought there was none. Little did Julian know, she's an actual star, this one. All his life, Julian knew things as how lightly he perceived them from his own point of view. He had spent more time cooped up in the boarding school, living his entire childhood in a dormitory rather than being surrounded by his own family and bask in the affection they always showed each other, especially his older sister’s. JaneAnn knew what always troubled her baby brother, the only male in the sibling, her responsibility despite their age differences only being 4 years apart. Julian is very close to his sister, always FaceTiming her whenever he could and the two of them would spend the entire night calling each other, due to different time zones. They hailed from Kensington but JaneAnn is a marine biologist who’s situated in Melbourne, Australia.

That's who Artemis reminded him of; his older sister that he dearly missed. They had the same charm. No matter how much they struggled to get through each other using the dent of timezone, they would always be able to call, at the end of the day. He was willing to wake up 3 in the morning for her, boldly assuming if he ever slept since the Nephilim is also known for his strictness over his field of work. Being both a pilot and aeronautical engineer wasn’t easy, there were no permanent nor actual shifts to go by. He goes here and there, there’s no saying when he would be dismissed or if he even wished to be dismissed. But due to a few current circumstances on weather-wise, they were told to lay off the flying schedule until everything clears up, allowing them to fly in a much safer condition and surrounding. Doing what he does best, which was rewiring and creating new systems that go around in the jets and planes alike, provided him as a distraction.

Regardless of his well-off upbringing, surrounded by a cherishable family that loves him, a sister who dotes on him, and his co-workers respect him, Julian always found it harder to control his emotions. It was the only thing about being an angel child that he frowned upon. It was one of the reasons why he was so piqued with the mysterious air she exuded. "I'm always curious," he shrugged, clasping his hands underneath the table as if it were the most normal thing a person would say, "but no, I don't ask everything to everyone I met, but they also don't radiate a mysterious energy. Can you blame me for going full self-preservation mode? You're living in Evermore, miss. Anyone if not everyone knows," he paused momentarily and took a sip of his coffee with a slight curvature to his lips, "nothing is ordinary here." The moment she pointed out his lack of subtlety and sense of curiosity, Julian knew he hit the jackpot in this. "Well, now you have. I'm Julian Lockhart, most people say my tactless self will get me in trouble and maybe they're right but that's on me and the effects in the future will also be on me." Who cares if all they're going to do is keep living in a robotic life?

Shaking his head at his tactless remark on calling her someone weird, especially the part about reeking, Julian stifled a small laugh and snickered instead, "Sometimes I can be the most polite guy you'll ever meet or the opposite. Forgive me for my tactless behavior." That's one way to phrase it. "Take your time, Artemis. I'm not gonna pounce and threaten you into divulging, don't worry, I don't bite" he winked playfully and resumed fiddling with his fingers under the table. His tics are unusually hard to get rid off. They do say old habits die hard anyway. People don't usually put trust so easily on someone, and that made Julian a bit confused and weirded out that Artemis would trust him on first time basis, but he wasn't a bad guy so he wasn't about to complain either. Fallen Stars? The Nephilim stopped everything else that was gearing his head and all operations halted accordingly, what the hell? Stars are real? They fell from the sky?

The look on his face was either hilarious or amusing. He was truly trying to rethink his own life, had they been existing this entire time? "Yeah… I like them. My sister has a soft spot for photography…" he murmured faintly, he was still trying to figure out what the hell this meant. Rewinding everything again, he stared at the stone pavement before them and huffed, "stars are real?" His voice was so timid and low, it was as if he was trying to comprehend things. "A bit ironic for the Celestial name… because you guys are literally… celestial beings so…" Of course, he would say that. He's been interested in astronomy and space since high school, why else would he further his education and studies into something that manufactures something that could fly? "How… did you guys fell? Did something happen?"

Being a star. Family was much different for Artemitra. Generally, stars from the same Constellations were regarded as siblings of sorts. But over the years, she had lived on earth. Artemis hadn’t crossed paths with Fallen Stars from her constellations. So she had no idea if any ‘siblings’ per say did or had existed. The Young woman, usually considered the other Celestial’s as family...or few close friends, she had been the closest to since living in Evermore, as ‘siblings’. Therefore, her idea of siblings and family was much different. To some, it’d probably sound a little unconventional, to say the least.

As the Angel child, claimed to be always curious. It made Artemis smile. “You sound a little like me.” Expect, Artemis tried to be more subtle, about her curiosity when it regarded other species. But half the time, it was her own curiosity and reckless nature, that had gotten her into trouble numerous of times. It was always nice, to meet someone whom shared in some similar qualities to herself.

The comment about self preservation mode, made the Celestial think. For a few moments, she thought back on what happened at the Isle of Skye, all those years ago. And how she was still struggling, internally. “No, honestly….I can’t blame you.”she said honestly. Julian did have a good point. Nothing was ordinary here. Nothing. As he spoke about his tactless self getting him into trouble. “You make yourself, sound nearly as bad as my reckless self.” Artemis said with a slight giggle.  Clearly, they both had a knack for getting into trouble. That seemed to be clear in the last few moments of their conversation.

His reaction, made her lips curve up into a slight smile. “Looks like, I met the tactless you then.” The Celestial said in a light joking tone. But smiled softly, to show him; it was alright. “It’s alright. It could have been worse.” It wasn’t the most odd situation, and he definetly, could have been a lot more rude, than making that reeking comment. But he didn’t...so it was all good. His comment about not biting, made the Celestial giggle. “Well thanks for the head’s up.” she shook her head, amused.

Seeing his face scrunched up, he looked deep in thought. Almost like he was trying to put the pieces together. Artemis tried not to giggle at his expression; no matter how amusing it was. As he mentioned his sister, her lips curved up into a soft smile. “Well, I am sure your sister has good taste in Photography and Art.” Artemis said softly. His question though, was to be expected. The Celestial nodded. “Yes, stars are real….you’re looking at one, after all.” No doubt, it probably wasn’t something someone heard every day. But no matter what way they’d ask or put it, it was true. His comment about Irony, caused the Celestial to laugh lightly, shaking her head. “That’s not the first time, someone’s said that...and I am sure, not the last either.”  But there was truth to that statement. As he asked about stars falling. Now, that was a different matter. Every story was different. “Well...I personally can’t speak on everyone’s behalf. But usually, something like a comet, tends to knock us out of our different constellations and sometimes, the force is so strong, that we end up falling to earth.” But since every star was different, different ages, falling in different places. No one story was exactly the same, even if some aspects were very similar.

Today was actually his first day outside of the usual field he surrounds himself with, and Artemis was the first person, much less a female, that he's met for the past month. Time flies by so quickly that even the angel child wasn't aware of the calendars ripping away so soon, marking his residency in the eternal city a little closer to permanent base. He supposed it wasn't entirely a bad thing, things were weird here which was something given for a supernatural infested city, but it does feel homey. In a sense of way. "Curiosity is something everyone else is equipped with, some say it's actually a vital role in survival skills. I can't say I disagree but you know what they say, everything goes. This saying had been said so many times but it actually serves a good reminder. Curiosity killed the cat" his lips curved itself into a small smile, "but satisfaction brought it back." Being different isn't something to frown over, but being the same doesn't warrant the same reaction either. So long as you keep your identity and originality, who can really judge you?

A weird philosophy of his that he no doubt, got from his older sister that influenced a lot of choices in his life. "Hey, being reckless is a human nature, okay. A way of life. It's only natural to actually act that way, we're not supposed to be perfect" he defended, it was funny to see how quickly his demeanor changed around the fallen star as soon as they reacquainted themselves. Julian found Artemis to be quite the company and that was saying something considering he's met plenty of different people who came from various backgrounds. "Since I'm half human, it's only right if I even act like my human counterpart" he shrugged casually, pushing both hands into his pockets, the mundane life became colloquial to the angel child who knew no more than the life he's led in his 27 years of living. Nodding in confirmation, he chuckled, "Yeah, looks like it. Not many had the chance to meet tactless me, believe it or not. I'm not usually like…" he gestured to himself awkwardly with an impish grin, "this."

The sudden information about the existence of celestial beings other than themselves and literally out of the world fascinated Julian, he's always been a fan of astronomy and knowing that this woman in front of him is literally a star he probably was fond over since a child, made him beam in delight. The whole detailed history of how the fallen stars came to be and how Artemis, one of them was standing directly in front of him, made him gape in awe. This is all so new to him, even in a supernatural sense of ways, it was. "One, that is cool of you to he a literal star. Two, I assume you miss being home? Three, are fairies real then? The pixie kind…" It was childish of him, but hey let the man live.

Over her time on earth, and time in Evermore in general. Artemis has come to meet many people. Some were more interesting than others. Others, made her feel more at ease to be around than others. No two people were the same. Knowing the pair, seemed to be similar in a few ways; made her feel more at ease around the Angel Child. But the Nephilim did bring up a rather good point. “Well, I can’t disagree...you have a valid point.” Artemis nodded her head in agreement. But curiosity, wasn’t always good. As he qouted the ever famous saying, Artemis smiled. Amusement across her expression “If I had a penny, for everytime someone said that...I’d be a millionaire by now.” she said in a teasing manner. Maybe it was a slight exaggeration, but granted; the female celestial heard that stories too many times to count over the centuries she’s lived. “But let’s avoid the death part, shall we?” Despite the many life and death situations; that Artemis managed to wriggle out of in the past; wasn’t entirely something she could shake off. Celestials were drawn to trouble.  Or was trouble drawn to them? Either way it worked...and Artemis knew not every specie, could exactly rise from the dead; if something happened to them. So she’d rather avoid it, as best possible.

Him jumping to defend her reckless self-came as a bit of a surprise. “I think, you might possibly be the first, to defend my reckless nature, with that statement..” True, no one was perfect. Not even Celestial beings. “You know, if I get us both in trouble, you’ll prove to be quiet the bad influence.” The Celestial playfully nudged him, but had a smile on her face. Of course, she didn’t think he’d be a bad influence. He just seemed like the type of person, that she could get into plenty of mischief with. Who knows, maybe this was a start of a growing friendship, not just a work relationship.

For the Nephilim, Artemitra assumed; it was much easier to lead a normal life. No need to uproot and be on the run, every few weeks/months due to hunters and all sorts of different trouble. Even though, Artemis wasn’t ordinary, she tried to lead a normal life, where possible. So she wasn’t at an entire loss. His impish grin, made the Celestial giggle slightly, shaking her head. “It’s not that….bad.” she told him, before she thought back to the ‘stench’ comment. “Okay, maybe the stench comment, wasn’t that...subtle...but hey.”

Artemis watched, how Julian processed the new information. The way he beamed; like an excited child at Christmas. Artemitra never known someone to be so intrigued and excited to find out, someone was a Celestial Being; a Star. Like he was right this moment. “Well...that’s not the usual, reaction I get, but thank you.” she smiled at him softly. Hearing Julian mention her home, Artemis bit her bottom lip slightly. That was always mixed feelings. “Sometimes, I do. Watching the stars twinkle at night, makes me miss being so high up. But, I have a reminder of home right here.” she gestured to the marking on her wrist. “Plus, with being down on earth for so long...earth, is my home now.” It took her a long time, to get used to being among mortals and Supernaturals, to consider it a home. But she got there.

Hearing his question, about fairies. The Celestial couldn’t help the laugh that escaped her. Maybe she laughed a little too hard. She didn’t expect such a question,to come from anyone. Let alone a grown man, like Julian. Which made it a bit comical. “I am really sorry, but wow…” The Celestial giggled, shaking her head. Smiling in amusement. The Celestial managed to shake her head slightly. “I am sorry to burst that bubble...but I haven’t, met a Pixie Dust Fairy, so I can’t say if they’re real or not.” She spoke between giggles. “If, I run into Tinkerbell, I’ll send her in your direction.” She patted his back gently. It seemed like she needed a moment of good laughter. And that question, certainly was the cause of it. “Oh boy.” she wiped at her slightly teary eyes...as her laughter, caused her eyes to well up with tears from laughing so much.

Julian never had any discrimination or prejudice over any of the supernaturals, since it wasn't right. His sister taught him that, however, his family were all pretty much, consisted of pure-blooded Nephilim here and there, there was bound to have several altercation right there. His sister gave him a lot of insight in life, he didn't always look up to her given that Jane-Ann was very strict on him while growing up but that didn't mean Julian didn't hold a certain amount of respect for her. She wasn't that doting elder sister for sure, she was stuck in her own ways and hard-headed so much their own parents and family couldn't even tell her off on anything. It was… scary but admirable. Perhaps he just loves his sister too much because he couldn't see anything more than Jane Ann Lockhart.

Artemis was an interesting soul, she definitely piqued his interest when they first met, albeit it wasn't the most graceful and respectful meeting at all since their actual first encounter was over bumping into one another. But there was no formality on their talk in the cafe just as well which meant it was very likely and possible that the two of them would then form a friendship outside this professional setting. Adding another friend in his list wouldn't hurt, right? "Yeah well that phrase and quote didn't get famous and overused for no reason, it's iconic. Golden, even." At least, he thinks so. "Noted, no talking about possible gruesome end or really, any parts of permanent end at all. God it" he grinned sheepishly, Julian doesn't really smile as much as people thought he would. Wait, scratch that. He smiled more than what people thought they'd see out of him. The angel child was often misunderstood due to his cool demeanor and introverted self.

Upon hearing her statement about her reckless nature, the Nephilim shrugged absentmindedly at it, it shouldn't be something others should frown over honestly, "Why should you feel bad about being reckless or careless in any way? It's only natural to be that way… nobody is supposed to be perfect. Yes, even Celestials… or celestial beings like you. You have a human vessel no? So you're still a part of that and being imperfect can sometimes show you the evidence of being someone real. Someone, people want to see." It could be just him but the raven-haired male usually gets triggered whenever people commented on those things. Winking playfully at the female, he chuckled softly, "Don't worry, people already blamed me enough for those, you wouldn't be the first so I'll just add you to the list for future references" Interesting, indeed. Despite his knack for getting himself into trouble more than he could afford to, Julian had never been called a bad influence. Not once in his entire lifetime. Not that Artemis meant that in a literal sense but nevertheless, it could be that he is still young compared to most, he's only 27 anyway.

He quirked his eyebrows in wonder, "Then what kind of reaction do you usually get? People freaking out on you and looking at you like you just grew three heads?" He was genuinely curious to know what others would've done had they been in his current shoes but he was positive his reaction was surprising. But in a good way. "I guess having a home somewhere else… it's a good reminded of yourself then. Mine is not even that far… well still couple of hours on flight back to Kensington, but England is England. The last time I was back home was before I got enlisted… now that I've said it I don't think I even went back for Thanksgiving or Christmas." It was a sad reality, he loves his family but they can be quite condescending. Kind to him, but still. Not to his sister.

The laugh that escaped her made him narrow his hazel hues at her in a scrutinizing manner, "Laugh all you want but everyone has been wanting to ask questions like that. I'm only taking one for the team. An honorable pride sacrifice right there" he huffed, shaking his head at Artemis with a small smile still gracing his lips. "Are you legit crying because you kept laughing? Unbelievable. I am offended, Shooting Star."

Artemis tried to not judge a book by it’s cover. The same went for people. Even if there were some species out there, that were to be feared. It didn’t automatically, make someone a bad person; just because they were of a certain race/specie and had dangerous powers. Right? The Celestial took time to get to know people. Albeit, the more dangerous of species, if there was good among them, took her longer to trust and befriend.

Over the centuries she’s lived. Artemis run into variety of people. Some first meetings were good, some bad, some slightly more awkward. But such was life. “That’s true...I probably like that saying, more than I should. It has a certain ring to it.” Even if it applied to her, very often. The Celestial found herself using it, on other people too. It was like a circle. If she didn’t hear it, she was the one saying it. Visa Versa. Considering how the awkwardly, two had run into each other, they seemed to be more at ease around each other now. “Good, probably best to avoid trouble, if possible.” The Celestial had found herself in plenty. And with the current on goings in the city, they probably didn’t need to find themselves in something sticky and dangerous.

His question made the Celestial pause. “If you knew, half the sticky and dangerous situations, I’ve been over the years….you’d know.” No matter, how much trouble she was attracted to, or willing to help those in need. A part of her knew better than to keep getting herself in those situations; but she couldn’t shake it off. It was just whom, she was. Although, Artemitra had to give it to Julian. He did raise quiet good point. Imperfection was part of everyone. Supernatural, or not. “Sometimes, I think I’ve become wiser over the years...other times, think to myself. I been alive for so long, but none-the-wiser, when it comes to certain situations.” It was a 50/50 with her.

The Celestial was amused, by his reply. “Mhh, well thanks for putting me on your list.” Artemis smiled. “How flattering.” she teased. Julian was probably the first person, besides her Best-friend Ridley, and former close friend Cora that had a knack for getting into troublesome situations, such as herself. She hadn’t met someone like that in a while.

“Something like that.” Artemis breathed out, as he asked about the usual reaction people gave her. “Quite a lot, in the past looked at me; like I am insane. It’s not every day you hear someone’s a fallen star.” Artemis said honestly. “Or there’s just those, that wish my kind harm and been trying to hunt us down. They normally act, more sneaky, suspicious around people like me. We might be Immortal, but still an easy target, for hunters.” Artemis mused, more to herself than anything. But also letting him know, how most people reacted. Listening to Julian speak about his own home. The Celestial had a slight feeling he missed it. Not that she could blame him. He had family back in England. “I didn’t think British people celebrate Thanksgiving?” she said softly. As far as she knew, it was a predominantly American tradition. Unless of course, England adopted that holiday, she hadn’t been in England in a long time, so she wouldn’t know.

Julian’s reaction, probably amused the Celestial even more. Even with that Scrutinizing look, she kept giggling. Trying to catch her breathe, another giggle escaped her, at his question about her crying. “Well, they aren’t tears of sadness.” she joked. The Celestial rose an eyebrow as he said he was offended. “You look amused, Angel Boy.” she pointed out, but smiled at the Nephilim. “Your question, just surprised me. I mean...I never expected a grown man, such as yourself to ask me about fairies. That’s what amused me so much.” Artemis said honestly. “I needed a good laugh though.” Artemis admitted. As much as she meant no harm with her laughing, it was an amusing situation. Her words holding no harm. “But, I can’t blame you for being curious, about such things either. As funny as the question sounded few moments ago.”

When he first met Artemis, albeit the first time he did was by bumping into her just before the cafe around the block, he didn't expect her to be so warm yet so witty. There was a certain energy to her that the female exuded, one the Nephilim unfortunately, could not pinpoint as easily. Whatever it was though, Julian knew one thing for sure; he definitely likes it. Something about her calms him down and it wasn't everyday he could get those kind of solace, peace and quiet. It was enough for the angel child to even daydream about serenity itself. "Yeah, it does have a certain ring to it but let's also not forget how much trouble people often get when they use that saying every time, to justify their acts. There's the good and the bad, of course… just like everything else in this world" To Julian, the world isn't so black and white, there were too many complexities layering every corner.

However, some areas can be described such as that occasionally, like what's right or wrong. You don't see people condemning the rights for the wrongs all the time, after all. "I guess I have to agree with you on that, it's best to lead a life without any trouble… god knows how mundane we should be just to be sure that we are actually avoiding that kind of route." Unfortunately, for the likes of him who wished to lead a normal and mundane life for a half human half angel guy, it hasn't been too good lately. He always seemed to find himself walking into trouble. Perhaps he's a trouble magnet and trouble itself as a whole just loves to attach itself on him. Could be. Upon hearing her response to his question earlier, he chuckled softly and rubbed the back of his neck instinctively, "I won't judge. Sometimes you don't want to get yourself in trouble but somehow, just somehow… you manage to get yourself in one all the same. It's an inevitable thing, really." He reassured her it was perfectly normal to feel that way.

"For example, you would want to help people who are in dire need of one but it also meant exposing yourself to the others who probably also held a profound amount of hatred towards us supernaturals… guess it really couldn't be helped if you had to leave that person to fend for themselves." Sometimes he could empathize with people but Julian could also choose to take the hard road and be contemptuous. It's a survival instinct he learned from Jane Ann, his sister. When she said she's lived for a while, Julian wondered how old she was, she never actually stated how old in numbers specifically, "If you don't mind me asking, how old are you, actually?" he tried to cover his curiosity with a nervous laugh, "I mean I know my parents taught me we shouldn't ask a woman her age but this is really an interesting question I'd love to get an answer for." The angel child couldn't relate, sure his kind are immortals now, but even as wise as the people he's met, he's never met someone old other than his close friend a few years back, Cora, who he also just actually found out is over 1200 years old.

"I mean, I can understand that sentiment and where it comes from, I guess… you try telling people you are half human half angel" he snickered at the irony because at times, even he guffawed at the idea of being a half angel which was even more elevated at the angelic middle name every pureblood Nephilim has, "That angel part struck everyone into laughing fit." He had a solemn look while heading Artemis talk about how people would hunt them down solely for their species and energy that they generate. "Greedy people will continue to be greedy" he murmured faintly, "That's just how the world works like...very unfortunate. The powerful oppresses the weak."

Being an immortal seems like a chore for most, Julian couldn't say much for himself because he had no idea what to make of it. When asked if they celebrated Thanksgiving, Julian shook his head with a smile, "No, we don't. Even for any holidays, I don't get to go back home. I don't work shift hours that much, either way I'd bring my paperwork home." Angel Boy? Now that's the first, "Hey, in my defense, no question is considered funny."
