After the closing of a certain club called Ministry of Sound, the night owls seemed to be doomful. When a close friend of Svetlana's left the city with a heartbreaking goodbye and a males name and number. Svetlana had promised she'd open a club to remember Aisling by. Only, Svetlana was a bit iffy on this man. A therian, the thought of it made her tremble since it was their kind with the Vampires and Phoenix who held her captive as a young child; all beacuse of her fathers personal Vendetta with the Therians, Phoenix and Vampires, due to him serving in the Russian army. And today, she was still mentally unstable. But she'd met Ais a long time ago when they too co-owned one of Svetlana's club, which happened to be a Russian club.
Lana got herself ready as the sky above settled to complete darkness, Giving herself a once over in the mirror, the Nephilim smirked, she thought she looked damn good. Grabbing her personal items such as her phone, keys, wallet and ipod, she shoved it all into her bag and headed out of the spacious home the Nephilim ambassador had given her in exchange for her spot in the Nephilim community. Being a Councillor had as many downfalls as it did it's perks. It was stressful at times, and always time consuming, but with going along with the plan to co-own a club named; Sinister Sounds, she knew she'd have her hands full.
It was a very worthy cause however. The only thing left to do was to get a hold of Dominic, Svetlana already knew him, but they'd bumped heads a lot due to the fact he was a Therian and trust was slim to none with them. At times, they got into supernatural altercations, both matching with their agility, speed, and strength.. so their altercations were ended usually due to exhausting themselves. But over the years, they became close; closer than close, and had made the mistake of sleeping together. But, now they were more like best friends and didn't let their mishap cripple their friendship. LAna could tell Dom anything, and the fact that she knew certain Therians, Vampires and other creatures were lurking around waiting to end her like they had her father, caused for a more protective side of Dominic.
She was rather excited to start co-owning with him if he agreed. As she sped off, humming along to Mine As she arrived, she pushed through the doors., smirking as she seen the beefy beast sitting at the bar. Taking a seat beside of him, she gazed to the decor, and this one was much better than MoS in her opinion. Dominic had put most of it together, and what he didn't do, his other Therians did, which conflicted her, as little as she trusted the species, she had to admit, they made this club something amazing. Today ws only the beginning. Lana pulled her clipboard from her bag, and slid it Dominics way. "So, how about some co-owning?" she asked, with a coy smirk dancing on her lips.
"I love it, this place looks amazing, thanks for everything you did" she stated waiting on him to sign the papers as she spoke again. "And, since your other Therians helped, you can add them as a security detail, if you wish. Or bartenders, unless we can come up with some sort of attraction that Ministry of Sound had, like the girls on skates" she finished, fixing them both a glass of Rum. "I'm really in awe here, how about you give me a tour?" she then asked, nudging his side playfully.
"Go go dancer booths and the pool was an amazing addition, and the Webetop LED Digital Interactive Led Starlit Lighted Floor Tiles is also amazing!" she shreeked in excitement" She couldn't wait to get a tour of the place, she already seen the VIP booth, also much better than the one in Minsitry of Sound. Sinister Sounds was basically created by Dominic, and it's where his true artistic side came out, She was happy that the VIP lounge would over-look the city, but she couldn't see the entire thing, so she waited for Dom to sign his part of the papers, and show her around.

As Dominic floored the truck along the highway, he continued making phone calls to ensure everything was still going smoothly at the club and nothing was out of the ordinary. He wasn't sure how long it would take for the other vampires to catch wind of their missing scout. If he had to guess, it would probably be until the next night which gave them some time to get far away and gather their thoughts. Vampires couldn't move freely in the day time so easily which gave them some time to breathe and figure out what to do next.
His eyes flickered over to the nephilim who had fallen asleep. Dominic imagined she was completely drained from all the excitement of the night. It had started out so well. They were opening a club which he knew was so important for her. She had wanted to move on with her life and have some type of normality from her past and he wanted to help her succeed in that dream. Lana deserved it more than just about anyone. Even after the two had stopped seeing each other romantically and became friends, he'd always wanted to ensure her safety and vowed to her that no matter what had happened between them, he'd still always be there for her.
Dominic had known the possibility of revenge was plausible with what happened between her and that vampire clan. It wasn't like they didn't all have it coming. There was something different in the angel though. A lingering darkness he couldn't quite put his finger on and it was changing her personality at times. He had tried to bring it up on a few occasions, but it seemed like she didn't want to talk about it. For now, all he cared about was keeping her safe.
He pulled off the road and continued through Therian Woods. The traffic lessened quickly and soon they were about the only vehicle on the road as the trees flew passed them in a blur of color. Turning down the dirt path, Dominic eyed the cabin he'd hadn't been in for over a year. A sudden pang hit him in the chest when he thought of the friend they both had in common that they hadn't seen in a long time.
Just as Lana stirred, he put the truck in park and got out. He pulled out the bag he brought with him that had a few more guns inside and daystar from the backseat before walking around to the passenger side door and opening it for her. His hazel eyes scanned the surrounding wood and everything was quiet except for the sounds of the birds and wind rustling softly in the trees. It was still dark out, but pushing his supernatural senses outward, Dom could tell there was no one else around. He glanced at his watch and saw it was 4am. Only a couple more hours till the sun rose and he would feel much better about their situation.
The key slid easily into the lock of the door and he pushed it open. Everything was still in order minus the light layer of dust that had gathered over everything inside. Memories of past slid into his mind as he tossed the bag down on the couch and walked over to the cabinet in the kitchen. He pulled the door open and there were still bottles of rum where they'd last left them. After unscrewing the top, Dom took along swig and then looked over to the nephilim at her words of Aisling. He was just going to respond to her about how he would never want her to be anyone else, when her cell rang.
Dominic hung his head and took another gulp of the alcohol when his extraordinary hearing picked up on words he had never wanted to hear. "What?!" He crossed the room again in a few steps just as Lana dropped the phone and began sobbing uncontrollably. His large arms went around her smaller frame as she collapsed onto the floor. The therian held the broken angel against his chest and picked up the phone, but the line went dead. He could feel the rage rising inside of him again. They'd killed his friend.
Lana pulled back slightly from him and began to blame herself. He put a hand on her face and tried to calm her. "Stop. This isn't your fault. No one is to blame but those sons of bitches that are trying to kill you, okay?" Dom pulled her against him again where she continue crying softly and waited until she had calmed down a bit. "Come on." He lifted her into his arms and carried her to the bathroom, sitting her down on the vanity. Turning the shower on, the pipes began to groan from the long time of no use before finally coming to life and pumping out water. Dominic moved back to her and moved a piece of hair from her face, leaning against the counter with an arm on either side of her. He felt his heart hurt for the pain that she was going through. "Listen... take a long shower. Get yourself cleaned up and then we'll get you to bed, okay? No arguing." Dom softly kissed her on the forehead and leaned on the frame of the doorway to look back at her. "I'll be right outside if you need me," he told her, before closing the door and quickly walking back for the bottle of rum and picking up his phone to see what the hell was going on at the club.
The drive over seemed to be much longer than it was, even with Dom driving pedal to the medal, full speed, due to the nightmare that'd consumed Svet's mind while she slept. As she breathed heavily, seeing the redheaded Phoenix who'd captured her, Svet's dreamed of the day they drug her father into the room that she had spent the majority of her life in. It seemed as though each time she had this nightmare, she woke just before they killed him, before they decapitated him right before her eyes. Sitting straight up, she gasped, but her features immediately softened when she seen Dominic.
Dominic had sacrificed his own safety the day he pretty much stepped up to the plate as her protector, and he'd given her so much that she hadn't ever had before. The chance at a normal life, happiness, and a sense of security; a friend, and a shoulder to lean on. And now, especially now, he was in the crossfire of everything from her past. She hated herself, absolutely loathed herself for thinking that one day, he would end up dead because of her. The rogue Vampires were now taking those whom she loved, away from her. It felt as though their mission was to make her lonely before taking her life, to make her feel as much pain as possible without touching her at all before they ended her.
First her father, now J. Svet sat in her seat silently, slumping back into the comfort of the car seat and he continued to drive. She knew Dominic had caught onto the darkness within her, it was scratching it's way out of the surface and she couldn't control it. Cornelia needed to know about this, but Svet had no idea how to even approach her ambassador and tell her that she didn't at all feel like a light Nephilim, which made her feel like she didn't belong sometimes. Deep down, Svet accepted who and what she was with pride, but the darkness was closing in on her like it did years ago when she and Zephyr slaughtered an organization of Vampires who caged and tortured Nephilim's. And her father, he had slaughtered the organization before that, which was what led to the situation Svet was put in, in the first place.
Svet couldn't help but feel anger. Why didn't her father come search for her, why didn't he warn her and her mother when he had the time, to tell them that he was doing something that could very well put them in danger too. Instead, he was so dedicated to the Nephilim's that he continued on with his work until it got Svet captured and him killed, and now they wanted Svet dead as well. The fact that he was that dedicated to their kind, at times made Svet question if she could even tolerate being around the rest of her kind without silently loathing all of them. Even though it wasn't their fault, it was still stuck in her head that if it wasn't for her father protecting them like he had, she would be living a normal life. Svet glanced to Dom as he eyed the cabin when they pulled up to it.She knew who he had in mind. "Aisling ... I miss her too" Svet said in a soft tone, frowning as she thought of the memories they'd made together.
"But, if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have met you, so yeah, she gave me a blow to the face when she up and left, but she also gave me a gift, .. you" she added, with a faint smile adorning her lips, but truly it was hard to smile with everything that was going on around them. Pushing all the negativity from her mind, Svet slid out of the truck when Dom put it in park, following behind him as he scanned their surroundings. The door soon opened, and Svet peered around, smirking as Dom pulled one of many bottles of rum from a cabinet. "Got the place stocked huh?" she questioned, and smiled even wider as she soon went to where the mantle was above the fire place, grabbing a framed picture of himself and Aisling in the very same club that she was now co-owning with him. Running her hand across it, to wipe the dust away, she swallowed harshly to keep the tears trapped in her eyes.
It was only moments later that a very small normal moment was turned upside down, and so were their lives. J being killed had to be the topping to the cake, it was the last thing to do Svet's mind completely in. This wasn't going to stop, not until they found and killed each and every rogue out there. She sobbed against the masculine frame who'd compassionately held her for comfort. She could only nod when Dom told her to stop blaming herself. It was so hard not to, almost impossible not to. Why were they doing this? "Why didn't he just kill me, he had the time, it's like they want to take everyone I love, before they take me, just the way they did when they captured me before killing ym father" she said, sniffling, and trying to regain control of her emotions. Nephilim's were one of the most emotional species on earth, so regaining that control was going to be impossible rright now.
Unexpectedly, Dominic had picked her up and carried her into the bathroom, she had no idea he was such a caring person, but then this very moment let her know why she did in fact love him. He had became her best friend long ago, even after romance had stopped between them, the friendship grew even stronger. And she would take that any day over romance, he had a special someone now, and so did she, and neither of them would have crossed the line to disrespect either relationship, and that, she could only admire him for, it made him very different from the average male. After he'd turned the water on and adjusted it so it wouldn't be to hot nor to cold, Svet watched as he moved back to her, her purple tinged eyes making contact with his hazel ones as he moved stray pieces of hair away from her face.
"Bu--" she was about to speak against the shower, before he'd kissed her forehead, only leaving it at a genuine smile, before standing to wrap her arms around him "thank you. for everything you do and for all that youve done" she whispered as the tears finally broke free from her eyes and poured down her cheeks. Svet returned a kiss on his cheek before Dom dismissed himself. "Ill yell if I need you" she then said, before slipping out of her clothes, what was left of them. The vampire who'd attacked her had ripped her shirt, and even her bottoms. She watched as the torn clothes fell to the floor before climbing into the shower, inhaling as hot water washed over every tense muscle in her body. She figured Dom was outside the door getting things in order so that they could handle what'd just happened at the club, in a safe manner. They didn't need no more friends dead, and she knew Dom like she did the back of her hand, he'd take care of this, but only in the right way.
Leaning against the shower wall, Svet finally relaxed a little, reaching down to grab the shampoo lathering her hair up before grabbing soap and washing her body off. After she was done, she stepped back underneath the stream of water to wash the shampoo from her hair, smiling as she realized it was what Dom used, since she'd always complimented him by saying he smelled edible.
Shaking thoughts away before they ventured to far, Svet turned the water off, hearing a loud thud and unsure where it'd came from. "Dom?" she called out but didn't hear him. "DOM!?" she yelled once more before bursting out of the bathroom in just her towel. "I caled for you.. what happened at the club? And i just heard a loud thud, what was that?" she questioned, but he wasn't doing anything to have caused it, she could only hope there wasn't no one outside the cabin. Looking down to the puddle of water forming under her, she chuckled. "I should get dressed, then we will figure out where to go from here" she stated, before walking over to a dresser. Aisling had apparently left a lot of her stuff here because everything a female would need, was right here before Svet's eyes.
"She always did have a great sense of style" Svet muttered as she grabbed one of the outfits and a few items from a makeup bag before sliding back into the bathroom, Svet quickly got herself ready though, because her nerves were on edge. And if the noise she'd heard while she was showering was in fact someone outside, she was prepared to fight. She had lost so much already, and now even Zephyr was in this crossfire, which, he'd been in it for a long time now, he was the man who had rescued her years ago from certain death, but there was no way in hell these bastards would take neither Zephyr nor Dom away. Svet was ready to fight, even if it was a fight to her own death. "Im finished" she said, as she walked back out and grabbed the bottle of rum in Dom's hand, chugging it until it was empty. After grabbing a new bottle from the cabinet she handed it to Dom with a concerned, fragile, broken expression. "Did you find out what happened?" she questioned and sparked up a cigarette while waiting for him to give her probably the worse news possible.
While waiting on Dom, Svet smiled as she walked to the stero system, knocking dust away from it "may as well play a memorable song, since you're sorta in a memorable cabin" she stated, trying to make light of what was about to be a very bad moment if Dom told her what she figured he was going to.
Dominic picked up his discarded phone and dialed in Brad's number. No one answered. He tried a few of the other guards at the club, but got nothing. The rage inside of him was building and he couldn't be confined to the cabin any longer. Pulling open the door, Dom stepped outside and began pacing in front of the house as he continued trying to get in contact with someone; Anyone. It was maddening not hearing what was happening and being met with nothing but the unknown.
"Goddammit!" he yelled out into the sky, closing his eyes. He took a few deep breaths and tried to calm himself down. Losing control and a cool head wouldn't help keep Lana safe. The cold air hit his face, helping to regain his focus as he looked down to the phone. He called Brad again and finally he picked up. "Brad?! What happened?" The background noise of the call sounded like they were somewhere on the highway.
"The vampires, they crashed the club, Dom. We.. we barely got out. Cops are swarming the club now, thinking it was some random human violence. They came through the back. Totally outnumbered. We just got out.. except for J-Roc. He..." His voice trailed off before he began speaking again. "They ripped his throat out, Dom."
His grip on the phone tightened. If it took the rest of his life, he would hunt down and kill all the vampires responsible for that young man's death. "Where are you?"
"We are regrouping at Dave's. What should we do?"
"Just stay there till I call you back. Get patched up. I'll talk to you soon." Dom ended the call and stared off into the still darkened woods. Glancing down at his watch, he noticed there was still about an hour left until the sun rose. He knew they weren't safe until then.
A noise suddenly made him turn his head slightly. The therian's heightened senses had heard movement behind the cabin. Dominic put his back against the house and cautiously moved towards the back of the property. Being out in the open wasn't the best advantage, especially since he knew if someone was coming for them, they would be in numbers. He peeked around the corner, but there was nothing. Lana was calling out to him from inside and he realized she must've heard the noise too.
He stepped back into the cabin and saw she had hurried out of the shower, still in a towel. "It's alright. No one is there." Grabbing the bottle of rum, the therian sat down on the couch and drank from the bottle. He didn't know what to do next. Keeping Lana safe was the most important, but in the end, they needed to deal with the problem so she wouldn't have to worry about being hunted for the rest of her life. One day, maybe somewhere down the road, she would be alone and vulnerable and that was when they would strike. He couldn't let that happen.
As the nephilim came back into the living space, taking the bottle from him, he sighed and looked up to her. He recalled everything Brad had told him over the phone to her. He felt a fresh new wave of emotion pass through him when he spoke about J-Roc as he put a hand through his hair and leaned back on the sofa. "I know you aren't going to want to hear this, but when the sun rises, I think you need to think about leaving the country. Let us deal with what's going on while you are far away from..."
Suddenly he stopped mid sentence as his powerful hearing picked up movement again outside. Despite the music playing in the cabin, he was certain he heard it. Dom put a finger to his lips and moved the curtain aside. Three cars had pulled up and blocked his truck on the dirt driveway. The wave of the familiar scent of vampires suddenly came through the cabin and he knew they had moved closer to the property. Their one advantage was they couldn't get in without the permission of the owner and she was far away from here. His gut told him that that wasn't going to keep them at bay for long.
Dominic grabbed Lana's wrist and pulled her behind him as he stared at the front door. A moment later it was kicked in and a handful of men stood there with guns drawn. He quickly pulled her into the adjacent bedroom as gunfire erupted towards them. His eyes scanned over her in concern, but neither of them had been hit.
When the bullets had stopped, a voice pierced the deafening quiet. "Here's the deal. We can't come in and we know you don't want to come out. I'll give you to the count of three to come out here or we burn the place to the ground and make you come out. What's it gonna be, dog? Is that filthy nephilim worth your life?" Dom let out some less than kind words back to the vampire in charge which made him laugh. "Fine. See you in a soon."
The windows began shattering throughout the cabin as molotov cocktails were being thrown in. It wasn't long before a few of them had hit their targets and set the furniture and curtains on fire. They were trapped and the smoke was quickly filling the cabin. If they didn't think of something fast, their chances to get out of this were becoming slimmer by the second.
Svet paced back and fourth, humming out the lyrics to the song to distract her mind from the very vivid images sge was seeing of Dom's friends, their security team at the club, being slaughtered. Svet's mind worked in a wicked way, most of what she seen in her head made her feel like she was falling over the edge, never getting a break from those kind of images and put a strain on her ever getting back to a normal mentality, She remained just a shell of a person and the rogues were gonna make sure she never got better. Inhaling, she gave a glance over towards the Therian who walked back and fourth trying to reach someone, even Svet could see anger and rage burning in his eyes. She didn't wanna see Dom snap, but she knew it was only a matter of time before he did. Everyone had their limits, and she knew his were being pressed.
Placing her face into the palm of her hands, Svet breathed in deeply and exhaled slowly, jumping as the door slamming had startled her, Svet walked to the window. Figuring a few inches of space was better for Dom than her hovering, she watched from the window, frowning as he paced, finally shouting to the sky angrily as he got a hold of no one. "Surely they're not all dead...." she stated in a whisper, trying to swallow a lump of fear forming in her throat, but she felt like she was choking on it by this point. While laying her face against the cold glass of the window, Svet tried to listen, but she couldn't hear anything Dom was saying when it appeared he'd finally gotten a hold of someone.
As Dom made his way back in, Svet looked down realizing she was still ina towel and quickly ran back to the bathroom to get dressed before joining him on the couch, siging as he assured her no one was out there. "I'm so sorry Dom, you shouldn't be dealing with this, nor should your friends.. I kind of let them grow on me as well, and it hurts..." she stated honestly, sniffing and shaking out of thought. If she was hurting she could only imagine that Dom was, she'd only met J-Roc, Brad and the rest of them through him, even though they were her friends, they were Dom's family / brothers.. at least that's how she'd always looked at them. Thinking that she was responsible for him losing any of them, would be what finally destroyed the Nephilim.
The words Dom spoke brought her back to the moment, but what he said had almost crippled her, how could she do that? How could she leave her mess on Dom and the rest of those who stood by Dom, those who helped keep her safe, but not only her, her and others like her who suffered the torture of the rogues. Tears filled her eyes, and even though she could barely get the words past the lump in her throat, Svet managed the best she could to say what she felt "Dom, I can't do that. There's been so many times ive wanted to throw my hands up and leave here, to get away from those who are making my life hell, but that's before i even had a reason to stay. I have you, and the club and for once I actually have friends.. and I never thought i'd be saying this but - - -" she cut off, ready to tell him she had Zephyr too, and even though he'd been helping to protect her, he was a Vampire, and right now, Svet didn't want to talk about any of them with Dom.
That, and the fact that she'd seen Dom stop in mid sentence "Dom?" she questioned, teary eyes beaming up at his own which were full of rage and anger, and a little fear that they weren't here at the cabin alone no more. Svet stood, but remained in her place, if they were at the cabin, her going to the window would just taunt them, and clearly her and Dom were outnumbered, she knew once they came for them, that they'd be in a large group. It was only a second later she felt Dom pulling her behind him, safely blurring both of them into the bedroom as gunfire filled the cabin's entrance room / living room. As a reflex, the Nephilim held her hands over her ears, ducking at each bullet they released. "Dom what- -" she started to ask, but once again cut off in mid sentence, after the Vampires finally hit their target, and left Svet and Dom to either come out and fight them, or burn to death, Svet grabbed Doms hand, giving it a tight squeeze.
Smoke was filling the cabin, and soon began making it's way into the room they stood in, as the Nephilim started coughing, she glanced around not knowing the cabin as well as Dom. "Is there anything here we can use against them? We either fight and take a chance on dying, or stay and definitely die.. I don't know what else to do, Im so sor---". Suddenly a few familiar voices echoed out. Surely Brad and the others weren't there to help them fight their way out of this, but if she hadn't done gone completely crazy, she could have sworn she heard Brad's voice echoing from afar.. perhaps they were luring the Vampires just away from the exit, enough for Dom and Svet to make their escape, and to get an upper hand on these bastards, or maybe Svet was just hearing things and had finally lost the rest of her mind. "Dom I swear, I think I just heard Brad. Where were they when you last talked to them on the phone?" she asked, a panicked look in her bright purple tinged eyes, and her hand gripping his even tighter now.
Svet didn't want to believe it though, she didn't want to think Brad and the others were out here to risk their lives for her, she felt okay with them doing it for Dom, but not for her, it was her fault that they were all caught up in this in the first place. But, if she never felt that she had family before this moment, she certainly seen them as family now. "Please tell me i'm wrong.." she finished off in a whisper, before glancing from the door way to Dom's eyes. She knew his hearing was far more powerful than her own. With their abilities combined, if the others had came out there, maybe .. just maybe they had a chance of all of them surviving this, all but the Vampires.
The smoke was beginning to fill the cabin quickly and soon the poisoned air was starting to fill their lungs. He couldn't help the natural reflex to cough the harsh fumes as his lungs began to burn. They were running out of options. It was either stay here and die from the consuming fire or walk into the very hands of the people who wanted them dead. Neither of which he was a fan of.
Despite the roaring of the flames that were running through the home, Dominic could hear tires squealing just outside on the road. More of their reinforcements seemed to be on the way or so he thought. In the distance he heard a familiar voice yelling on the driveway. Brad. They had not listened to him when he told them to regroup and were coming to their aid instead. It was the one time he was happy they didn't listen to him when he gave them specific instructions to follow.
Gunfire began erupting from outside and he knew the wolves were fighting back. Now it was time for them to save themselves while the distraction was to their advantage. Dominic looked around the space. His eyes landed on the fireplace tool set and he quickly crossed the room. His hand slid around the iron poker, pulling it from its home, and standing at the foot of the bed. Raising the tool above his head, Dominic slammed it down into the wooden floor. He did this over and over again until eventually it broke through to the foundation below. The therian raised his booted foot and smashed into the splintered hole he'd now created and pulled the broken boards away.
The smoke was now blurring his vision, but below he could see he'd reached through to the ground outside underneath the cabin. They were both coughing violently now as he reached out for Lana's hand. "Come on..." He grabbed her hand and helped to lower her to the dirt below before following down after.
There was chaos all around them as the gunfire and sounds of men shouting and fighting echoed through the woods. Dominic began to army crawl towards the back of the house and waited for the opportune moment. Reaching out, he grabbed the ankle of one of the vampires and yanked him to the ground, pulling him under the home where he quickly knocked him out. His hand wrapped around the handgun the vampire had held moments before to which he quickly returned fire at their assailants from their advantaged position.
Soon they had the upperhand as the lycans pushed back. Dominic laid out the last vampire before they had finally retreated to their vehicles and pulled off for safety. His gaze fell to the burning cabin as it was now fully consumed by fire. The wood crackling was the only sound in the silence of the woods as they all stood and watched the structure crumble. "We should go," Brad said quietly as he felt a hand on his shoulder, pulling him slightly back. Dominic nodded before finally tearing his eyes away from the cabin. He took Lana's hand, putting an arm around her shoulder, and lead them over to his truck. The sun was starting to rise finally and he knew they would be safe... at least until nightfall.
Svetlana knew they were in trouble when thick black smoke began filling the entirety of the cabin. For the longest, she held her breath, but even that became painful, and the second she inhaled, it set her lung ablaze, and she now found herself fighting for every breath after that but the smoke was much more dominant in that fight than she could be. Now that she and Dom had people to their rescue, it made Svet fight even harder to at least get out of here alive, even if she didn't make it once she got out of the cabin, if she and Dom didn't at least get out alive it meant that Brad and whoever was with him came over and risked their lives for nothing.
Watching the foggy shadow of Dom through the thick smoke, it'd given her a sliver of hope to see him busting the wooden floors down to nothingness, up until the point they'd reach the outside ground of the cabin. Svet gave the cabin one last final glance, it burned right through her to see so many memories burning down to nothing but a pile of ash and she knew that even if he didnt feel it right now, this would effect Dom just as much, if not more. Svetlana then gasped suddenly as the sound of gunfire ignited just inches away from where they stood this very second.
Scared, and hesitant, the distraught Nephilim reach for Dom's hand, squeezing it roughly as not to get left in the raging flames of what used to be a cabin. But if Svet had came to learn anything over the years, it was the extent of Dom's loyalty and for her it was pretty much limitless. Once the two of them finally began crawling through the dirt, Svetlana followed Dominic's lead, and crawled the opposite way, once she arrived to the edge where she could see Vampire's surrounding the place, the Nephilim's eyes raged a bright purple, and as she focused, she watched them start dropping one by one as she used the ability to inflict pain, and since she knew this wouldn't end them, Lana done just as Dom had, pulling one of the Vampire's under with her, she grabbed his gun while he struggled to maintain through the pain infliction she also used.
Had Svet not had someone as great as Dom, who knew exactly how to handle any situation, even life and death ones, she would have been dead long before now. Holding the gun that was probably larger than she was, the Nephilim aimed and began unloading. The kickback didn't even phase her, as small as she was compared to Dom, she could only be thankful for Nephilim strength. Svet's nerves were rattled though, she had no idea where Brad was out there and those with him, accidentally shooting the wrong person was the last thing she needed on top of everything else.
Soon, as Dom put the last blood sucker to rest, the two of them took their ground by Brad and the others, where sad eyes watched as the cabin soon turned into nothingness. Svet couldn't believe it was gone, all of those memories. She certainly felt the sting of the pain that came with losing something like that, but she was also grateful to be able to look around and see those that she cared about still alive, especially Dominic.
As she felt a strong arm gently wrap around her, Svet sniffled, trying to rid the tears from her cheeks that were now stained from the dirt they had just crawled through, and the smell of smoke being so dominant on hers and Dom's clothes and hair that anyone standing near would have probably choked a little. Smiling to Dom faintly, she walked along side him with her head rested against his shoulder until they reach the truck again. She knew that since the sun was rising, they had an upper hand on whatever Vampires were left, and whatever ones would be dumb enough to reform and regroup to come chasing them down again. For now they were safe.
"Where will we go from here?" she questioned, gazing to the street lights that passed in a blur "what will we do?" she then asked, but that last question, she whispered to herself. The club had been attacked, the cabin was gone. Was there any where in this city for them to be at peace in? She knew Dom always had a plan.. but right now Svet couldn't shake the sad feeling of the cabin being burnt down. "I'm so sorry Alpha..." she finished off before placing her head back against the window, exhausting finally taking over as she fell asleep. Svet didn't know where she'd wake up this time, but she knew that with Dom having the say so about where they went next, that it would likely be somewhere isolated, and safe.
The world around them was a blur to him as Dominic sped down the highway. He would gaze in his rearview mirror every few minutes to see if the others were keeping up with him, but everything else was nonexistent. Auto-pilot had taken over as he drove away from the lost cabin and away from the memories it held. All the thoughts that passed through his mind were fleeting as his emotions fluctuated. It was impossible to focus on one thing at a time when so much had happened in the hours since the attack at the club.
His hazel eyes fell on Svetlana as she rested in the passenger seat. She had been through more awful shit in her life than most people could even dream of. To think that her past was catching up with her made a fresh wave of anger boil inside his skin. His knuckles whitened on the steering wheel from gripping it so tightly as he could only imagine what had happened to her at the club before he had had the chance to get to her.
Suddenly, a blaring horn tore his eyes away from the resting nephilim. Dominic quickly swerved out of the way of the oncoming car that he nearly crashed into due to being distracted. Lana woke abruptly from her sleep and looked to him in confusion. "It's fine. We're okay. Sorry." His cell phone rang a second later and as expected, Brad had called to see what happened. Reassuring him that everything was alright, Dominic put a hand through his hair in frustration with an exasperated breath. Being a therian had meant his temper was quick to flair and it was certainly showing now.
After taking a few more steadied breaths, he pulled the truck over and waited while the other two cars followed suit. "Wait here," he said to Lana quietly as he stepped out before she had the chance to protest. The therians all stood in a circle, looking to Dominic for what to do next. Being in a pack was absolutely not his speed, but he would be stupid to believe that the men around him didn't look to him as their leader when they all gathered under the same roof. He folded his arms over his chest and looked at them for a moment before speaking. The words that were coming next were not going to be ones they wanted to hear. "Go back to the club. Find Jared and any of the others that didn't make it out."
"What?! No way, you need help, Dom." Brad was the first to chime in.
Dominic considered his words for a moment and knew he was right. "I know. Brad and Nick will roll with us. The rest of you need to get back to the club. Find any clues that can help. See if anyone else got out. Jared is still m.i.a... and J-Roc. We're going to that hotel the vamp told us about, but I have to get Lana somewhere safe."
Brad scoffed and nodded towards Dom's truck with a smirk. "You know there's no way in hell she's going to let you go without her."
Dominic's eyes briefly followed Brad's where the nephilim remained in the car. It was that very reason he told her to wait inside. He knew it was going to be a fight if he told her the truth of his plan. He still wasn't sure what he was going to tell her, but he'd lie if it meant keeping her safe and away from danger. "Yeah, I know," he responded lowly. "Call me when you get more info, good?" They nodded to him in response before getting back in their cars.
Setting out again, Dom led them further into the city to one of the many safe houses the Ailward Guards had set up around Evermore. Of course none of the bouncers knew this, including Svetlana. It was a secret he was meant to keep and he didn't plan on breaking the vow he'd sworn to hold if he didn't have to. It was a part of him he kept locked away from the rest of the world, but it was hard to keep something so monumental in his life away from a friend like Lana.
The truck rumbled to a stop at a brick apartment building in a middle class, downtown section of the city. It was an easy place to seem normal when the Guard needed to keep someone safe and in hiding. Dominic opened the door for Lana and met with the other two guards as they parked their car to head inside. His fingers moved over the ring of keys he held and found the correct one for the small, two bedroom apartment. Flicking on the light, the space was furnished as if someone occupied the place all year round. Dominic let his therian senses enhance as he waited for any signs of life, but he could tell no one had been there in a while. He crossed the room and pulled back the curtains of the large floor to ceiling windows to let the late morning sunlight inside. They were all silent as they moved further inside as if the events of the last several hours were finally weighing down on them. He wasn't a man of many words and wasn't sure what to say at that moment, but there was one thing he knew no one would disagree with. "Nick, order some food. I'm fucking starving."
As Dominic blurred down the road, giving Svet tunnel vision almost, it became hard for her to see that the others were still with them, but she knew Dom would have stopped if they'd been anywhere but right behind him and Svet. She felt a sense of grief taking over. Svet could tell that everything going on had taken over Dominic and he probably struggled with losing so much, which made her question if she was worth it all, but it brought joy to her heart knowing Dominic had always cared enough to stick by through it all, even now.
The rest on the way over had been the only thing to take her mind off of it all, but even with her eyes closed she could see his face, the face of the soulless bastard who tore away a few more shreads of her dignity before Dom and the other's had time to reach her back in the club. Jolting upward though as the horn blarred through her ears, Svetlana gasped, she thought for sure that he caught up to her again, but much to her gratitude she was still safe and sound in Dom's truck. Eyeing him, she shook her head as he apologized, giving him a faint grin "Its okay Alpha.. we're okay" she repeated, frowning though to see just how frustrated he was right now.
Once the truck pulled over, Dom was already one foot out when her lips parted to speak, and before she could say anything, he'd told her to stay there, and as much as she didn't want to, she wasn't about to add to his frustration. "What have I done..." she whispered, feeling tears forming in her eyes all over again, but she'd be quick to wipe them away before Dom got back to her. She felt so responsible and guilty for the things Dominic dealt with for her, but at the same time, she loved him to the moon and back for being such an amazing friend, and protector. A world without him, was a world Svetlana wanted no part of.
It wasn't long after he stepped away from the truck that the rest had joined him outside of their own vehicles and for a brief second, Svet smiled, seeing them look to Dom. Even if he didn't like the whole pack thing, he was one hell of a leader. They trusted him and respected him, Svetlana knew why all to well, because so did she. A few seconds into them talking, commotion began to alert her that they weren't all in agreement. Svetlana heard him then, clear as crystal. She eyed him bitterly while he couldn't see her doing so, anger boiling her blood to even think that Dom and the rest of the Therians were going to hunt a bunch of evil soulless Valkyr's down without her. She felt that this was her mess. If she was taken somewhere safe, and had to wait, and just hope that Dom and the rest made it back, she would have lost her mind.
Svet whipped her head around when she caught the others gazing her way, as she was giving Dom a bitter look, not wanting him to realize she heard the commotion. She didn't wanna fight with him, but she damn sure didn't wanna let him do this without her. God was this one hell of a fight. They both cared for each other's safety so much they wanted to risk their own, she guessed it came along with being as close as her and Dom were. Brad smirked, cause he'd caught her giving Dom that look that said no way in hell, but luckily she'd turned her face away quickly enough for Dominic to not have seen it.
When Dom got back in, they'd shared a look with one another that she was way to familiar with before her gaze averted back out the window, watching as they passed every secluded road she thought they would go into.. Dominic was way to smart to take her somewhere like that, she admired that about him. Her head rested against the window again, but this time, she was wide awake, with tons of different scenario's playing out in her head about how this would all finally end. Because Svet had done chalked it up to only two different versions. They would overpower the rogues, and finally Svet would be at peace and live the rest of her life the way she'd been longing to, or Svet would be left alone, by losing everyone she loved including Dom and the others, and she'd be recaptured again until they ended her too. That second thought sent her into a downward spiral.
She decided to play some (music) in hopes to relieve her mind of that heartbreak. They'd finally stopped at a small apartment building, where two guards followed them, and after Dom made his way to the door, Svet's eyes widened with how nice it actually was inside, and how Dom had shared this with her, to keep her safe and it meant so much to her. She looked back at him, and silence in this moment was much louder than anything she'd heard tonight, much to Dom's thoughts, the events of the evening had finally weighed them all down, leaving them all silent. Until Dom blurted out that he was starving, earning a few chuckles from the group of them, but Svet only gave a faint smile. Sitting down by the floor to ceiling window, Svet waited for Dom to join her, while the others talked in a group amongst themselves about their plans for what happens next.
"I'm not going with you am I?" she asked, knowing it's why the other guards came there. Her heart sank into the back of her chest, and that nagging painful lump formed in the back of her throat. "Dom ... I can't just do nothing.. if something happens to you..." she choked out those words the best she could. "This can't be the last thing we do together..." she added, as she looked around to the walls they had around them, she knew nothing would happen to him, at least she had to think that, but the pain ripped away at her anyways. Dropping her head, Svet glanced back out of the window, placing a dainty hand over his, shaking her head unable to get into a place where she thought everything might just be okay. "When we make it out of this, I promise you won't have to see this sappy ass version of me ever again" she promised, but still, she wasn't able to laugh .. the gut feeling she had, had her terrified.
Dominic opened the fridge and saw it was stocked with mostly alcohol. Just another clue that the safe house hadn't been used in a long. He pulled out his phone and texted the code word to the manor letting the guard there know that this place was currently being occupied. They weren't supposed to be using it for anything other than Ailward business, but what they didn't know wouldn't hurt them. After all, this was technically breaking protocol.
Grabbing the case of beer inside, he put it on the countertop of the island and ripped open the cardboard box. It was like a welcoming sound to the other two bouncers as they came over to take a refreshment, beginning to chat about ideas on what to do. His eyes fell over to Svetlana as she moved towards the window. Seeing her sit down, Dominic popped open the top to his beer and walked over to the nephilim. He sat down beside her and gazed out at the busy city below them. The words asking if she was to stay behind while the others went on ahead made him look down at his beer. He knew she wasn't going to be happy about not being a part of the fight, but she was the target after all. How was he to make sure she stayed safe while trying to fight? His concentration couldn't be pulled in two different directions, but the more he thought about it, the more he knew she wasn't going to take no for an answer.
"I'm just trying to make sure you're away from the danger, not full on confronting it." It didn't matter what he said and it wasn't like he could lock her away either. In the end, a nephilim could easily overpower a therian with their abilities. If she wanted to get away, she could. Her finality made him give a small sigh and he took a long drink from his beer. It didn't please him in the least, but he already knew he was defeated in the argument. At her lighthearted joke, his gaze turned to hers with a slight smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. He wrapped an arm around Lana's shoulder and pulled her closer to lean her head on his own shoulder. "I don't know. I sorta like sappy Svetlana. It's less threatening than sassy Lana who takes no shit."
They sat there quietly to their thoughts, both staring out the large window for a while. Despite the many things to look at like the buildings, to the crowded street, to the traffic, Dominic wasn't focused on anything but their next plan of action. It was hard to believe that only some hours ago they were having a great night at the club and to now be here in this life or death situation. "Food's here, guys." Nick's voice broke through his concentration and he brought himself to his feet, helping Lana up as well.
The four stood at the kitchen and island and divvied out the Chinese food that was ordered. The other two therians were quick to chow down, but Dominic found it a bit harder to eat with everything that was going on and what could possibly be the outcome. He tried to push the thoughts aside and nodded towards Lana to also do the same when their eyes met, knowing she was probably feeling the same way. He twirled around the lo mein and began to eat, but watching the nephilim to make sure she tried to get something in her stomach. It was strange to eat in the silence and he sighed, pulling his phone out. "Once we get word from the others back at the club to see who's with us, we'll regroup and make our way for that hotel." He wasn't going to say it out loud, but he was secretly thinking of a way to keep Svetlana out of the fight no matter how much she might be mad at him in the end.
More than anything, Svetlana just wanted this to e over. And to be frank, she absolutely didn't wanna be part of the fight. But that would have been an easier call to make had her dearest, closest friend not been part of it. Dominic had became one of the best things about the Nephilim, and she was hell bent on making sure he was just as safe as she was. Though she could tell it slightly wounded his pride to know he couldn't convince her that it was a better decision for her to stay behind. "I don't want to put you in this position, Alpha. Trust me, I see the look on your face, and it kind of kills me knowing i might be disappointing you.. but I wouldn't want to live another day if something happened to you.. I pretty much hate myself already because of what's happened to the others"
Hanging her head low, Svetlana radiated nothing but sadness, and had this been a party of some sort, she damn sure would have killed every ones vibe. It was only when Dom pulled her close, and her head rested on his shoulder that a faint smile was able to grace her features. Chuckling, she gave him a side glance, but continued resting on his shoulder, more so, being greedy with the moment, knowing this could be one of the last they'd spend this close. "Ill try to bring sappy Svet back soon, I promise. Maybe when this is all over, if it ever ends.. we can celebrate our victory and sappy Svet will make a guest appearance" she said playfully, grinning from ear to ear. Even in the darkest of times, as long as Svetlana had Dominic her best friend, and Zephyr, the love of her life, she felt she could get through anything that this cold ass world had to offer her.
While they shared a moment of silence, staring out of the large window lost in thought, Svetlana teared up, realizing that not long ago at all, her and Dominic had just been celebrating the success of their club opening. Together, they made an amazing team at Sinister Sounds and their club had only grew more popular with time. Incubus had been a great addition to that night, and at the very least, Svet could think back and know she had did something good for Dom. She'd just hoped that they would have plenty more time for things like that, and this not be the end for them. Suddenly, Svetlana's gaze averted to Nick who called for them to come eat. And, while Svetlana didn't have much of an apatite, she figured it was only poilite to join the others. Taking the hand that Dom had offered to help her up, Svet stood, glancing into his eyes before trailing over to the kitchen where a variety of Chinese food littered the counter.
Svetlana frowned though the moment she tried to take her first bite, only to glance over to Dominic, who also seemed to struggle to eat right now. But, the moment Dom gave her a nod, the Nephilim swallowed the painful lump that'd formed in her throat and began eating as well. The silence was deafening almost as they all ate together, and when Dominic pulled his phone out, the Nephilim couldn't help but find herself distracted as to what might be on that screen. As everyone finished, one by one the kitchen cleared out, leaving only Svet and Dom. Svet glanced at Dom, this whole situation caused her just a little more heartbreak than she'd felt even the day her father was killed right in front of her. Ready to speak and say what she needed to say while it was just them, she didn''t expect for it to turn out to be the exact opposite.
She knew all hell was about to break loose as her usual dark optics started glowing a bright purple. After closing her eyes to avoid Dom seeing what was going on with her, a dark voice crept into her head, luring Svet to the room that the other Therians had went into for some downtime, which probably only meant drinking and planning on what to do next. Being given the idea that she needed to temporarily knock them out and leave without them, seemed to make more sense than anything so far. At least this way, she wouldn't be the reason that anyone else died. That very same voice came to her again, only this time, much louder and much clearer "you'll leave them here and go to the Valkyr's willingly. No one else has to die" Clearing her throat, Svet looked to Dom, hoping she didn't seem to be acting stranger than usual, or give herself away that she was lying before speaking "Ill be right back... bathroom break" she stated nonchalantly. She couldn't give him any sign or any clue that she was about to wipe him and the rest of the Therians out, all she knew was that this was what she had to do.
The voice in her head was pretty damn convincing considering the Nephilim didn't even hesitate before walking away from Dom. Inhaling, Svet couldn't even look at them for what she was about to do, almost felt like betrayal on her behalf. But after closing her eyes, focusing just enough, the Nephilim used pain infliction, her heart crumbled as each of their bodies did. Breathing heavily, Svet looked around the corner to make sure Dominic hadn't heard any kind of commotion before closing the door quietly behind her after leaving the room. It was hard to even return to Dominic, who had bent over backwards to help her and keep her safe for as long as he had now. To do what she was about to do crushed her, and she knew she had a certain look on her features that would have told anyone to be weary of her in that very second.
Grabbing a pen and a piece of paper, which was actually a napkin from their Chinese food from earlier, Svet quickly wrote down an apologetic note Alpha, please know how sorry I am for what I did. I don't know why, I just know that I had to. before gazing back to Dominic with that crazy bright purple tinge back in her eyes. It took a lot more strength with Dom, than it did the others, and Svet chalked that up to their bond, and how close they were, making it harder for her to do this to him. But, she had to, or at least that's what the voice in her head had convinced her of. As a Nephilim, Svetlana could inflict pain in a few different ways, whether that's taking away someone's ability to breathe or making it seem like someone is losing their mind. Not wanting to stall any longer before he caught on, if he hadn't already, Svet glared deeply into his eyes, using the latter of this ability, which meant he'd feel as though he wasn't able to breathe until the point of passing out, which would give her just enough time to escape.
Walking out the door, the Nephilim's feet drug behind her with regret. She'd been manipulated into wiping out literally everyone who could have protected her. As much as she wanted it to end, just to end everyone elses suffering, she didn't wanna go out like this. Not with a whole pack of rogues killing her off like she was some kind of animal.
The voice from earlier returned. "Good girl. But I lied. I still want everyone you've ever loved, to die, I just knew you loved them so much that you'd do what needed to be done to keep them out of this, it makes it much easier for your life to be ended before they die as well". Svetlana's eyes now glowing more purple than they ever had, she screamed as loud as she could the word "No". If she wasn't fighting for herself, she still had just been given the will to fight for the people she loved.
Her feet had finally came to a halt, and with that, she figured she was exactly where she'd been lured to. Fear didn't consume her... but that same darkness from years ago did. The darkness she felt when she had slaughtered an entire group of these rogues, giving her an apatite that most Nephilim's would never in their lives experience. After that night, she craved it.. death. Killing those who did this to innocents was something she feigned for. It was dark where ever she was, barely able to see her own hand in front of her face. In the next instance, Svetlana was sent to her knees as a sharp pain burned her neck, and as she reach up, and pulled back away, her fingertips were wet with what she could only assume was blood. Being attacked from behind wasn't anything she expected, she at least figured they would face her before ending her.
Getting back to her feet with a slight stagger from the pain, Svetlana managed to grab onto one of them, using the very same trick she had used back in the safehouse on Dom and the others, easily sending the first one down to the ground crippled by pain. The second however, used that as an advantage, attacking her while she was distracted with the other rogue. She knew now that they weren't unarmed either, when a steel blade swiped across her face, creating a rather large slash in her face. Almost crippled herself, she knew this wouldn't end well for her. But to not fight, was something she would never be known for. Afterall, she didn't get the nickname little warrior for no reason from her Zephyr.
Dominic's phone suddenly vibrated on the countertop which sounded a hundred times louder when there was a complete silence in the room. He placed the fork down and picked up the cell, glancing quickly at the text message. 'Everyone else at the club is accounted for. We're just finishing up the rest of the police reports, but we'll meet up whenever you're ready.' A small sigh of relief passed his lips as the words sank in. No one else was hurt or worse and he was thankful for that. This wasn't the end though. The valkyr would pay for what they'd done.
He quickly responded back to the text and told them all to meet him and the others at Dave's as they had planned before. His saddened gaze fell over Lana quickly as he knew that he was going to have to lie to her. It was the only way to keep her from getting hurt. The appetite that was barely there before now vanished at the thought of having to withhold the truth, but it had to be done. It was for her own good. Sticking to the plan was the only option. The better option. They'd take two separate cars. Brad and Nick would take Svet in one car while he went in the other, telling them that he was going to pick up a few things from his house, including more daystar, and meet them back with the rest of the security team in another location. That would be the lie they would have to play off to her. She would be the only one left in the dark when in reality, the two therians would be bringing her somewhere else. Somewhere safe.
Dominic texted both therians separately so it would seem less suspicious if they both were checking their phones at different times. 'Follow my lead. Take her to another hotel. Any hotel. Keep her safe. Stall for as long as possible while we finish this thing.' He pushed the send button first to Brad and then waited a few minutes to forward the message to Nick. They casually all looked at each other and gave a quick nod of confirmation without tipping off Svetlana. This will work. It has to work.
So they waited. As soon as Dave would message him back that the team was ready to head out to the hotel, he would execute the plan. He watched as the other therians headed to the adjacent room and began cleaning up the food that was still set out on the island of the kitchen. "Don't worry, I got it," Dominic replied to Svetlana who seemed a bit out of it suddenly. "Why don't you get some rest? Relax for a bit." He wasn't even sure she had heard him as her features seemed to give off that she was far away in her thoughts, but as Svetlana turned to head to the bedroom the other men had gone to, he brushed it off and continued to tidy up the kitchen.
Dom pulled open the cabinets until he finally found a large garbage bag to dump the food out. It wasn't as if any of it could be saved since no one would be occupying the apartment again until it was required as a safe house. As he began dumping the styrofoam containers out, a sudden thudding noise made his extrasensory hearing perk up. Turning his head, his features scrunched up in confusion. "You guys alright?" On cue, Svetlana came back into view a moment later. "Oh, there you are. What the hell are they doing in there?" He casually began dumping the rest of the food in the plastic bag before tying it up and setting it down. When his gaze fell back onto the nephilim before him, he could tell something was off. "Are you okay?" Dominic could see she was just finishing writing something down on a napkin from their meal when all of a sudden he caught a glimpse of the familiar purple tint in her eyes that signaled the use of her powers. "What are y..." But before he could finish the question, Dominic suddenly felt the wind pulled from his lungs.
The therian staggered back slightly, gripping the island to keep himself standing. His hands instinctively went to his throat while the world began to spin. Back slamming against the refrigerator, his frenzied hues fell on hers as the Svetlana he knew seemed to be gone. It was like looking at an empty shell or as if someone else was controlling her. "Lala..." he choked out, trying to get through to her, but it was no use. Soon Dominic had fallen to both of his knees before the lightheadedness turned into the world going black and he collapsing to the floor.
"Lala..." those words cut through her like a knife, over and over again, the sound of his voice, and the way he grabbed his throat struggling to breathe just enough to get through to her, not even for his own safety, but for hers. Tears rushed down her cheeks, she didn't even care at this point if the Valkyr finally won. She had done something that harsh to one of the people she loved most. Svet couldn't think straight, because instead of focusng on the here and now, a very dangerous place; she thought about the opening of Sinister of Sounds. She remembered the smile on each of their faces, especially when she'd requested a personal shout out from Dom's favorite band to him, the way he lit up, was priceless. It was a night she had shared with him, that she'd never forget. She couldn't grasp how they had gone from that to this. "I'm so sorry Alpha" she sobbed, longing to feel his presence right now.
It was so dark, that she couldn't possibly see enough to call him even if she wanted to tell him where she went to. One thing she did count on, was Dom knowing that she'd only done what she done, to keep him and the others from fighting a battle with her, that they may very well lose in the end. It seemed that no matter how many they slaughtered, ten more took it's place. That's how it had happened with Svet's father. Svetlana's father had killed an entire organization of rogues, before she and Zephyr took care of the next one, and the one Svetlana was being hunted by now, was even bigger than that. Riddled in guilt and fear, Svet sat there for a moment, circled by Valkyr who seemed crippled by hunger, they wanted her blood, and tonight would be a feast. She’d finally given up.
Svet knew they wouldn't kill her quickly. After all the time they had spent hunting her why would they end it the moment they could? They had the opportunity to torture her first, and torture they did. Svet had been contemplating on running, she regretted all of this now that it was too late. The only thing she was happy about was knowing Dom and the others wouldn't get hurt now. From the shadows a petite yet tall figure began approaching with a cape and hood on, after the being releieved themselves of the hood, Svetlana couldn't believe her eyes. It was a red head who looked like a clone of the one that had captured Svetlana as a teen. She could wield fire when she wanted too, and she'd manipulated the flames to make Svetlana think she was consuming them and choking on fire, quite literally. Was this some sort of joke to them?
Svet watched the woman, almost paralyzed by de-ja-vu and fear as she came close enough to put the tip of her pointer finger under Svet's chin, rising her head to make sure Svet was looking right into her soulless eyes. Swalling harshly, Svet conjured up the fear to speak "Do what it is you camme to do. I'm here. Finish this!" she said, almost growling out the words she spoke, and that's when it hit her. Just like before, but this time, much sooner, and before they could strike against her. When her eyes lit up, glowing a bright purple, Svet's powers kicked in like a loose cannon; in this moment, she began losing control. With just a simple glance at the red head, she made her fall to her knees; and took no time in retrieving the sword from the woman's side where it sat waiting for what Svet figured was to be used for her head, instead, Svetlana grinned and threw it aside before quickly reaching down while the red head was crippled in pain from Svet's Nephilim powers, and grabbed her daggers that Zephyr had gotten her.
I a quick motion, Svetlana plunged each of them through each side of the Valkyrs neck. After that, she pulled them out just as fast, plunging one throuh the chest of another Valkyr who lunged for her, and the other in the next Valkyr. Three of them were down, she had plenty mor to go. She moved fearlessly, and flawlessly, as her eyes continued raging their dangerous purple until a Valkyr much more smart than those before him got the upper hand on Svetlanna. He had plunged a dagger of his own through her chest, barely missing her heart. A sharp gasp left the Nephilim's lips, and even though she felt herself going down, she continued fighting even on her knees in pain. Thankfully she healed quicker than she had last time this happened, she knew it was because the last times events had made her stronger. Pulling the dagger from her chest, when the Valkyr turned his back stupidly, Svetlana stuck it through the back of his neck, watching as he turned, grabbing his throat where the blade had went through each side.
“Doesn’t feel good does it?” she asked, grinning. This obviously wasn’t funny at all, but Svet’s sanity had left her the day her father had by beings just like these. “Tell me it hurts” she added, before focusing her gaze on just him for a moment watching as he went to his knees. Svet placed her boot on his leg, and pressed down with all the strength she had in her, “I said tell me it hurts” she repeated, pleased when the Valkyr began pleading for her to stop. “Very well” she then said before picking the red headed womans sword up, relieving the male of his head.
Svet then turned, in utter shock at what she seen. She stopped the sword before it reach Dom’s neck, seeing the others as she peered around him successfully taking down what Valkyr’s remained. Seeing Dom was something she hadn’t expected; and after dropping the sword, she immediately jumped in his arms, hugging him tightly. “Dom, i’m so so sorry” she said, broken. “I did the one thing I thought would keep you guys safe.. But - -”she trailed off, wanting to explain how she hadn’t even been in control of her decision in coming to the Valkyr’ willing. Swallowing harshly though, she just hugged him, almost in a way that made it seem like she was scared that if she let go, she’d lose him. “I just hope you know, I never wanted to hurt you” she added before falling quiet; watching in shock “We should help them finish this” she stated, as she watched those that Dom had gathered up, slay each of the rogues, but the more they slayed, the more that came around the corner from the shadows behind the trees. The clearing Svet, Dom and the rest of them stood in, was nothing but a huge field and big firey spot where they’d engraved the name ‘Vasilyev’ into the ground and sat on fire when she’d first arried.
“They wanted to end the Vasilyev line, it started with my father, and it won’t end until they kill me..” she said, obviously pained by her own words. Svet’s eyes still raged a bright purple as she watched the mayhem just ahead of them, ready to help the other Therians. “Thank you Alpha” she whispered “No matter what happens, you were the best part of my life” she added in case this didn’t ennd well for her or Dom for that matter, but Svet would have let herself die anytime before him, especially when it camme to a battle that was hers.Broken and bloody, the battered Nephilim hopped down, and reach out for Dom's hand. If this truly was the ending, she wanted to go into it with the very person that had been there all along.
