Cash. She needed cash. She needed alcohol to numb this pain that was vibrating through every bone in her body. As she dug through the things Dom had said were hers she paused pulling out a ruby necklace. It was breathtakingly beautiful. Something she felt didn’t belong to her. She was sure it had to be someone else's so obviously Dominic wouldn’t notice it missing. She pocketed and quickly made her way out of the cabin. Dominic was with the guard so she had enough time to sell it and get some alcohol to hide for after he passed out.

After she made it into the city using the uber account that was left on her phone she wasn’t sure whose it was all she knew is she wasn’t paying for the ride. Once in the city she walked down the streets looking at the different shops until she saw a pawn shop. Pulling open the door she walked into the shop and looked around. She moved to the door and pulled out the necklace.

“I would like to speak to someone about pawning this fine piece. I sadly am short on rent this month and have to sell my grandmother's necklace.” She so easily laid as if she even remembered who her grandmother was. For all she knew, she never met her grandmother. She didn’t pay attention to the ding of the door opening behind her. After all no one she could remember would be able to find her that quickly. Or so she convinced herself. Not remembering that more people in this city knew her then she remembered.

For her she felt that lately she was all over the place. Both physically and mentally. Not knowing really if she was coming or going. It was just paranoia setting in. The reality of facing the fact knowing she had her psycho-ex lover after her. It was the normal craziness that comes with living in a city like this. With the ghosts of your past coming back to haunt you from being able to be happy. For her she was trying to be this good leader to her people and being herself at the same time. Wanting to have a fresh start and all but it seemed she wasn’t allowed to be happy. Now she has a target on her back with the troubles and memoirs of her past that she tried so long to put behind her were now back in full force.  Nothing was ever so simple. Years back when it all happened she thought that she managed to escape, to put it all behind her. Getting away with the crimes she commited. To escape the person who she thought she knew but when she did she didn’t like what she saw. Thinking she had escaped in the process, but it seemed like she hadn’t done so well in doing so as she so long thought she did. Having believed for decades that he was human and be long dead by now whilst it was the opposite, he was very much alive and supernatural at that. Who was still holding a grudge for what she had done a revenge now she knew he was out to get his.

Leaving her right now being over paranoid with him being out to get her. All of the countless blackmails and messages aimed at her and those who she cares for. The only person who was helping to keep her grounded and sane these days was her cousin Wyatt. In the last few years they’ve become close, more like siblings and cousins. Kaelyn could see how protective Wyatt was for her with all that was happening to her, she could see how determined he was to figure out how to find the person who was out to get her. Yet it hadn’t been so easy for them. With it proving to be more difficult than they first thought. Lately it seemed that all she and Wyatt had been doing lately was going through their own personal collections of grimoires, along with the ones in the archives trying to find something that could yet them out. Neither of them were having much luck at the moment. Making her the evermore frustrated wanting for her life to get back to normal so she wouldn’t have to be worrying any more. She’s already lost one relationship because of it, she didn't keep on being stopped from living her life for any longer.

To help to keep her mind off it all she had been doing things that she loves and that was conning. She loves going to odd pawn shops in hopes of finding something valuable or to flog something from her collection that she had stolen over the years. There was one in the city that she visited often, she was even on a first name basis with the owner but she gave them a fake alias of course. Managing to get the best offers too. The Redhead Diviner was looking around the shops at all of the different objects that were all on different shelves and bookcases. Then she heard a familiar voice speaking to Albert at the desk, someone who she hadn’t seen or heard from in a while. Siobohan Leslie, one of the lost souls who came to her looking for help. Listening in she heard Sio talking about a necklace making the Diviner curious. Stepping from the bookshelf so she could get a better look at the front desk she saw a ruby necklace glistening in the light shining through showing it for all it’s beauty. It was her own ruby necklace, one she had loaned to the Nephilim.

“Wait, what are you doing!” Kaelyn shouted almost heading over to the desk. “It’s my necklace, I told you to look after it so that you don't get rid of it” She assisted the blonde by breaking the promise the two had made to each other. Back then she insisted to Siobhan that it’s only for loan and not to get into the wrong hands not to sell it for money. “Albert, don’t listen to her. It's my necklace that I had loaned her a few years back. It’s not for sale” Looking over to the salesman making it clear that he’s not to accept it, then she went to turn back to look at Siobhan. “Where have you been? I haven’t seen you in ages. It was like you disappeared from the face of the earth” She went on saying not noticing that difference from the blonde Nephilim she had last seen till now. She was still annoyed over the fact that one of her favorite necklaces that was one of a kind was nearly sold and put into the hands of greedy hoarders if she hadn’t stopped and intervened.

Siobhan jumped as the voice front he redheaded woman screamed out. She stared at her dumbfounded at the words that spewed from her plump lips. “Excuse me miss I have no idea who you are and why you are claiming this necklace to be yours.” Siobhan shot back towards her yet it was no use.

“Ma’am this item has questions of ownership and without papers we can’t take it. I’m sorry.” Albert said as he took a step back after handing the necklace back. Albert gave a nod to Kae since he knew her presence in the shop far more than Sio’s.

Siobhan took the necklace and shoved it in her bag and turned looking to Kae with annoyance over her features. “Well thanks to you, I will not get my fix tonight.” She moved towards the door as she paused digging in the bag and tossed the necklace to the red haired woman. “And where I have been is no one's business.” She shot back to her. “Enjoy the necklace you claimed.” She pushed the door open to make her way down the road. If Kae looked closely at Sio she would have noticed she looked sickly, sunk in eyes as if she hadn’t slept in days. The weight of the world on her shoulder.

Sio looked to her watch and wondered if she could manage to escape with a bottle or two of booze from a store without being caught. She started making her way down the sidewalk looking for a shop that wasn’t overly secure.

The whole situation was very confusing to say the least. The Diviner was confused by what was happening. Confused by the fact it was like Siobhan didn’t recognise her, with how the Nephilim was speaking and interacting to her. Even the tone of her voice was different, not warm and weclcoming instead it was more pissed off. Kaelyn knew it was Siobhan, that’s for sure but it seemed like the Nephilim didn’t recognise her at all. The Diviner was once a mentor to the young Nephilm. They were like mentors and students not too long ago. Now it was like Siobhan it never happened. All confused her. Kaelyn knew for sure the last time they had seen each other was on good terms. That there was never any bad blood between them. Kaelyn felt a little bit hurt to see Siobhan talk to her like that after all she’s done for her and now she acts and speaks to her like this.

Kaelyn knew that it was very unlike her. The Siobhan she knew was friendly, warm and welcoming. Not this rude and stuck up person who seemed like she was on something. This wasn’t her, it’s not the Siobhan she knows. Kaelyn knew something had happened to her but she didn’t know what. Something was going on. Slipping the pendant into her pocket after it was basically chucked at her. Watching as Siobhan quickly ran out of the store. It was all very strange. Kaelyn knew she couldn’t leave her like this, knowing she had to go and help her friend that she was in need of. Quickly she hurried out of the shop after Siobhan hoping that she wasn’t too far away. Luckily the blonde wasn’t too far away. “Wait Siobhan! Hold up!” She shouted after her hoping that she’d stop. “What’s going on with you? This isn’t like you?” All this acting out wasn’t like her, that she was like another person.

Siobhan's eyes were scanning the store fronts, looking for one that a little old lady was running so she could slip in and out with a bottle of alcohol hopefully. So as she paused in front of a promising store she heard the red haired woman behind her calling her name. She turned to face her and let out an expressive sigh as she turned to start walking once again since the shopkeeper was now looking at her. With a few more stops she stopped tired of hearing the clicking of the heels from the woman behind her. She turned on her heel and gave a dark glare focusing on the red haired girl's dark eyes.

“Listen I get it, you knew the old me blah blah blah.” She held her hand up doing a mimicking motion. “This fucking Siobhan that was here two something years ago seems to be friends with everyone in this damn city.” She pulled at the strap of her backpack that was on her shoulder as she looked to the passing cars on the city streets before finally letting out a sad sigh. “Listen. The Siobhan you knew isn’t all here. She got cursed or something lost her memories. Me, I woke up on the streets of New York, almost got gutted and did what I needed to do to survive.”  She said flatly looking back at her with a far off gaze.

“So whatever relationship you think you have with me. I don’t remember it.” Siobhan muttered as she finally focused her gaze on the woman. “Now unless you are going to get me several bottles of alcohol so I sleep and defy Dominic's wishes to dry me out. I will be on my way.” She stared at her for a long moment before a smirk came to her lips. “Though the necklace being yours makes sense since you seem to like red.”  She chuckled lightly as she moved her hand through her hair not moving away as quickly as she had moments ago.

It was true that lately she’s been too wrapped up in her own problems. Forgetting about and losing in touch with others. In the past she’s been so good at juggling so many different things and people all at once. Back to when everything was so much simpler. Back when she was just a con artist and all she had to worry about being caught and then being arrested. Things like those. Now she felt that she had so many more things and people to worry about other than herself. Kaelyn knew that she’d completely forgotten about Siobhan. That it’s been a while since they had been in touch. It was stupid of her thinking that the Nephilim was all okay. When they last saw each other, Kaelyn knew that she was going good and that she was happy. Remembering how the Nephilim had found and was getting to know her brother. Now it was foolish of her to think that Siobhan was all okay. Seeing how it was like she was seeing a different person in front of her now with how she was acting.

Kaelyn was sure that she wasn’t going to let Siobhan leave and disappear. She wasn’t going to leave this place. It was proving to be a little bit more difficult as the blonde was already walking faster ahead. Thankfully Siobhan stopped and turned around but it wasn’t the most pleasant greeting she was being given. Kaelyn was all confused when listening to her like she’s been saying it to so many people. A gasp escaped her lips hearing that Siohan got cursed and all her memories were gone. “It all makes sense now” She spoke to herself almost to why she was acting out. “Why didn’t anyone tell me?” The Diviner felt frustrated, almost hurt that nobody had reached out to her, not even Dominic. Thinking that as Instar Diviner Coven leader she would have been an option for someone asking to help. Was Malva still figuring out a way around it?

She chooses to ignore this whole new attitude that Siohan has. Not giving into the new persona she’s taken on. It was like she was a whole new person, the opposite of who she is. “Well unlucky for you, I’m someone who will just ignore what you want and choose to take action for myself” The Redhead stated showing no emotion. Not caring for what this Siobhan cares, not letting her get away with it for much longer. “You’ll thank me later for this” Kaelyn took a step forward and took the blonde's wrist before she transported the two of them away. Seconds later they were inside of her appartment in the city but in the basement where she kept all of her spell books and other stuff but it was charming to help her in situations like these. Kaelyn could see that no one else by now had tried to sort Siobhan out, that she'd have to take it into her hands instead.

As the realization took over Kaelyn's features she finally thought she could leave to stew in her anger and be stoic about everything. Brood the best brood of her life but her next set of frustrated words caused the nephilim to raise a brow towards her. “Why didn’t anyone tell you? What are you someone important around here? Of course you are. The old Sio had plenty of connections it seems.” she crossed her arms and thought for a moment before looking away. “So many connections and yet no one ever came looking for her.” She said more to herself than to Kaelyn.

She raised a brow at the red haired female at her words. “What are you going to do? Kidnap me?” She growled at the woman and then her eyes widened when she was teleported. She looked around the dark space and then backed away from Kaelyn. “Fucking magic users.” The bitterness in her voice as she crossed her arms trying to keep space, her eyes scanning for an exit while she was trying to keep the darkness in her brain aside. “You know I am finding it hard to believe old Sio knew someone like you. In a good way.”  Her eyes moved back towards her. “So I doubt I will thank you if you plan on locking me up.”

She tried to keep the darkness that was swirling inside of her pushed back but it wasn’t going to hold off long. “So what do you plan to do? Lock me up and leave me to rot away?” She asked as the darkness swirled in her eyes, taking it over making her feel sick as the black started to leak from her tear ducts and a voice that was male and rough left her mouth. “Leave the little nephilim alone you witch.” As Siobhan's body took a step closer not under her own will anymore. “Or we will end you.”

Kaelyn only had herself to blame for what had happened to the young Nephilim. They were once mentors and students, she’d promised to be her teacher to help and look after. Steering her on the right path that seemed fit at the time. Billie had entrusted her to help Siobhan now seeing the blonde in front of her like this, The Diviner felt that she failed her old friend. Kaelyn should have done more. She should have been there. Instead after she helped her out they lost touch with one and another. Back then she was still all new to being an ambassador and all that entailed. Before the only person she cared for was herself, having lived the majority of her life by herself. Never having any family or close friends. It used to be just herself and nobody else. Believing that she couldn’t trust anyone. After meeting and getting to know her cousin Wyatt everything all changed for the better. For the first time she felt happy and settled. No more running away. With doing so she’d been forgetting those she left behind.

Still she was confused by Siobhan. She wasn’t making sense. None of it was making any sense. The bubbly blonde was replaced by someone totally different. It was no lie that Kaelyn felt hurt and taken aback by her words. Especially the last ones. That nobody came looking for her. It was all true. She could and should have done better. To be there more. Yet it was that she wasn’t there and she couldn’t change what happened. Feeling that she failed Siobhan. Now she felt that she owed it to her to try to do what she could do to helf. That this Siobhan standing in front of her wasn’t the one that everybody knew and loved. Who cared for everyone would put others first. This new version was the total opposite. Bipolar.

Kaelyn knew she had to do something but in truth she didn’t know how to help. “I’m going to try to help” Knowing that there would be a lot of fighting and disagreements. Her plan right now was to make sure that she wouldn’t lose her before she could do something to help.  Even if it meant taking Siobhan hostage against her will. “Siobhan would have known that I was only doing it for her own good” That is what she was hoping for. Kaelyn knew of the Nephilims. She wouldn’t be doing it if she had any other choice. Her mind wandered for a moment to Dominic. Kaelyn knew that he and Siobhan had a close connection, a strong bond. It all must be taking a toll on him that he would be trying his best to help. Watching the blonde closely she could see her once bright eyes turn dark, that she had no control over her body that someone else was controlling and speaking for her. “What the hell is going on?!” Something very wrong was happening.

Siobhan didn’t seem to have control when the darkness took over, it wanted to hurt Kaelyn as the blonde body moved not under her accord. “You think you can help?” the male voice still leaving her throat as the black goo was starting to run down her face slowly. “Not even that big idiot that was in love with her could help her. He didn’t come looking for her when she left, That other dark haired angel never came looking for her, even her own mother replaced her with a Diviner child. So why would you, another diviner want to offer help? I protected Siobhan, I killed for Siobhan, I am the only one to protect her ever.”

All of a sudden as Siobhan took another step forward she fell backwards. “Enough!” Siobhan's voice returned as she laid there on the sidewalk panting softly as pain radiated through her body slowly. “Fuck.” She muttered out as she slowly sat up wiping the black goo off her face with the back of her hand. “This is happening more often.” She mutters softly to herself before raising her body back to her feet looking drained in the face, tired. “Dom won’t let me drink. I was trying to sell the necklace to get money to get alcohol. I want to be blacked out, I am tired of this thing inside of me.” She said as she wiped her hand on the back of her jeans.

“Listen.” She managed to get out as she sighed looking to the sky for a moment. “I don’t know or care about your relation to me before, I don’t remember anyone.” She said before trying to straighten her jacket. “So how about we don’t pretend that you care, it's been made clear how much everyone actually cares about me.” She turned her back scanning for a store that may sell alcohol. “I just need to shut down for a bit.” She said she could steal a few bottles and get trashed back at the cabin. “So unless you are gonna get me a drink I don’t care to keep talking.” She started off in one direction to find a store to rob.

The person who was in front of her wasn’t the Siobhan that they all knew and loved. A shadow self. It was like there were others that it wasn’t just Siobhan. There was a male voice that came out of nowhere but Kaelyn knew that there were only two of them here in the room. She’d not told or communited with Wyatt yet. Meaning that she was right it wasn’t just Siobhan in there. “What the…” The Diviner was lost for words. This type of possession was one faced before. Ones that were written down in grimmiores. Dark magic. Seeing as black goo was starting to run down the blonde's face only worried her even more. There’s many things that she didn’t know about the Npeholim. Back then they were only teachers and students. They only shared with one another what they wanted to. Kaelyn knew Siobhan had a complicated past. It was the same for many of them.

Kaelyn was trying to piece together what this person was trying to tell her and who these people were. Dominic and Clarrissa. Those were two who were close to Siobhan. The sad part of it all was that she was somebody else who he could add to the list. Kaelyn didn’t know that she left or that something had happened to her. Only to find out that she was too late, the damage was already done. “We will protect and help her” Each of them were stubborn as one another. Some more than others. The Diviner was waiting for a snappy comeback from this person who was posing the Nephilm till it seemed like somebody else wanted to take change. Now she was back to the heartless Siobhan who didn’t know who she was. When she spoke of Domminc wouldn’t let her drink she couldn’t help but laugh. Everyone who knew of Dominic knew that he was one who liked a drink and now he was one to tell someone they couldn’t.

“The necklace isn’t something to be pawned off for money to get yourself drunk or high” She warned harshley still not happy that she nearly lost her Ruby necklace. It was one of her treasured possessions. “Wait a minute, don’t run away from me” She warned, already starting to get annoyed by her. She didn't make it easier for her to even try to be given the chance to help. “You can’t just rob a store you know. There’s rules we gotta follow” Kaelyn could already guess that if she was to robb a place she wouldn’t be so subtle about it. That Siobhan wouldn’t remember the training she’d once given her. “This girl is going to be the death of me” Muttering to herself, shaking her head in disbelief as she took off after the Nephilim. Trying to stop her before she couldn’t get into any more trubble than is already done.

✧ The Borrowed Necklace ✧
The darkness that was part of Siobhan had taken hold and did what it could to make its threat. It was clear that it confused Kaelyn as she looked around for where the voice was coming from. With a smirk on Siobhan's face it shook its head. “Try and I will consume the spark of Siobhan that is clinging on.” And like that the darkness swirled away and there was just the hollow version of Siobhan left. Every time the darkness took hold it felt like another chunk of her had been stripped away from inside of her. Watching Kaelyn laugh about how Dominic wouldn’t let her drink drove the Nephilim to be mad. The man had alcohol to last three years in an apocalypse and yet she couldn’t have anything to dull the pain that seemed to riddle her body daily.

“It’s a piece of jewelry, it can very much be pawned off and sold to get myself drunk or high.” Not overly caring to the lecture from yet another person who she didn’t remember. She tossed back a peace sign as she tried to make an escape from the red haired woman. “Pretty sure I am walking, not running.” She called over her shoulder towards Kaelyn. “Rules? Really? You a goodie two shoes also? This Siobhan was really a wet blanket it seems.” The tainted Nephilim gave a laugh into the air. “So what are you gonna call the cops on me if I go in and steal some alcohol? How about you just offer to buy it for me then, then you can talk at me all you want.” Siobhan turned on her heel to come face to face with the red haired woman.

Looking the diviner up and down slowly she gave a smirk towards her. “What is so damn special about her? Me? That makes you people chase? Yet not a single one of you bothered looking for me while I was on the streets, hungry, freezing, doing some of the most disgusting things I had to do to get through.” Her eyes glowed a dull purple to the vibrate lavender they once glowed. “Doesn’t matter much longer, these stupid ass wings will fall off and the darkness will consume.” She stepped back with a shrug. “I am sure I won’t be a problem much longer for you guys. So don’t bother Kae.” She said in a softer tone all of a sudden as sadness touched her face.

Siobhan being possessed was something she hadn’t expected. It was something she’d not seen or experienced before, she’s only read it in some books. Which makes it more difficult for her to figure out how to find her way around and help Siobhan. Kaelyn could sense who or whatever was possessing Siobhan was powerful and had a strong hold at that. She could feel the dark energy filling the air around them, and it wasn’t coming from herself. This was all making it more difficult. She knew she’d had to approach this carefully and tactically before acquiring the help of her cousin Wyatt or even Malva. “Who are you?  Or Better at that what are you?” The Diviner challenged, shooting one of her signature cold looks. Even if she most likely wouldn’t get an answer. it wouldn’t be that easy.

The necklace's value was a lot more than the real Siobhan knows that but right now the evil was taking over. “Not today it isn’t” She scowled watching as Siobhan made a peace sign at her. A scoff escaped her lips followed by a sigh knowing it was going to be a long night. A goodie two shoes was something she’s never been called before and would never want to. Yet she knows escape dangers. “I am only trying to look out for Siobhan even if I’m already too late” She was waiting for another snarky comeback to come that she’ll say she’s too late. It's never too late. Just that this would be more difficult than she first thought. Yet she loves a challenge. “I’ll buy you the alcohol but we’ll have to do this on my terms too” There’s a reason why Dominic wasn’t letting her have any alcohol but she’d have to find a tactical way around it.

She’d not known Siobhan for so long but in the time she’d formed a sort of attachment to the young nephilim. She reminded her of her younger self in many ways. Taking her under her wing being a sort of mentor when she needed someone. “She was everything good, and still is even if it’s still deep down” It hurt her knowing she wasn’t there to help her on the streets. “I’m here now” Her own eyes widened for a moment, Kaelyn knew when a Nephilim accepts complete darkness in their heart that their wings will fall off and there’s no coming back from it. She wasn’t going to let that happen to her. Something clicked in her as Siobhan spoke to her and touched her face. It was a small realisation of sorts she was still there somehow as she spoke her name. The person possessing her wiped and messed with her mind to forget others but she spoke her name. A small piece of her soul was still there.

✧ The Borrowed Necklace ✧
Siobhan struggled internally, feeling as if she were watching her own body from a distance, powerless to control it. She could hear Kaelyn’s voice, sharp and challenging, but couldn’t muster the strength to respond as herself. The dark presence within her sneered, controlling her actions, and making her say things she didn’t mean. Kaelyn's cold look and direct question cut through the haze causing Discord to speak as their own no reason to keep the facade up. She tried to push against the darkness, but it was like fighting a tide. The entity laughed through her, mocking Kaelyn's determination.

"Who am I? What am I?" the entity echoed, its voice dripping with contempt. "I'm the darkness that you fear, Diviner. I'm the shadow that lurks in every corner, waiting for a chance to consume the light. Starting with this little angel light." She didn’t want to hurt her friend, her mentor. But the darkness had a tight grip on her, twisting her intentions. The entity within her scoffed again. "Too late? You think you can save her now? Pathetic." But beneath that sneer, Siobhan felt Kaelyn’s words reach her, grounding her in a way that the darkness couldn’t completely sever.

Kaelyn’s offer of alcohol brought a derisive laugh from the entity. "Fine, whatever you want, just get it. Let’s make this night interesting," it said, but Siobhan could sense Kaelyn’s strategy. She was trying to reach her, to pull her back from the brink. Siobhan felt a tear slip down her cheek, betraying the facade of the entity. For a moment, her eyes met Kaelyn’s with a flicker of recognition, a small plea for help. When Kaelyn mentioned Nephilim accepting complete darkness and losing their wings, Siobhan felt a pang of fear. She couldn’t let that happen. She had to fight.

"Kaelyn," she whispered, her voice trembling but unmistakably her own. "Don’t give up on me." She felt the entity recoil, its hold weakening ever so slightly. Siobhan clung to that small piece of her soul that Kaelyn had helped her find. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to start fighting back. She wasn’t ready to be consumed by the darkness. Not yet. Not ever. She had people who cared about her, one of them standing here in the streets fighting to see that piece of her.
