It had been a long time since Arcadia had become an Aurazin. She preferred to refer to it like that than to think of it as her death, that gave it negative connotations and became a painful memory she would rather forget. Still, memories of what happened that night never left her, remembering how she was waiting for Ce so that they could finally leave and be together and then feeling the pain in her next. She didn't know what hurt more, the process of dying and feeling the life drain out of her or knowing she was going to leave the person she loved most and that would break her heart into so many pieces.

At first, she had been angry, because it seemed like the most natural response to waking up in another realm after her soul got entirely lost. She was confused and upset, she remembered the male's voice and how he sounded sincere when he said he was sorry. It had made her curious. When she was finally able to process the reality of her death, she had become an empath, heading out into the world and helping those around here. But she hadn't been able to resist peering into the life she left behind. She was curious she supposed, she wanted to make sure those she left behind were going to be okay without her.

But she was also curious about the valkyr who killed her. She knew she shouldn't but she had managed to find his name. He was blond, with bright expressive blue eyes and his life was a mess. It didn't take her long to find out he was new to being a valkyr and he didn't have it under control. The guilt of those he had hurt was weighing on him hard. It was hard to be angry with her killer when they showed such remorse and grief. He seemed to be doing everything he could to hold things together but how could you hold things together when that happened.

She'd known he was in Evermore for a while now. He seemed to have turned his life around, gotten his bloodlust under control, he had friends and people he cared about. She knew it was better not to see him but now she was here and people couldn't tell her that she wasn't allowed. Maybe, just maybe, she wanted to meet him. She knew from watching him before that he would walk around the park in the evenings and every day, without fail he would come to the fountain and stop there a while. So while it was incredibly bad of her and she knew she shouldn't, she wanted one conversation with him. To understand. And then she would take his memories away of it all and he would be free of the guilt he had gone through.

So here she was, sitting on the edge of the stone which surrounded the fountain and waiting for him to show up, rehearsing what she was going to say her head even though she suspected she'd forget it the  moment he came into view.

He couldn't change what has happened, but he does intend to make up for at least a quarter of it. He wanted to do anything that could help her, if he could. "You sound fearless" he mumbled, she was probably braver than he is, which was honestly not much coming from a coward like him, but he did want to acknowledge that. At least she didn't feel like she was afraid in the dark, it made him feel slightly relieved to know she didn't have to suffer alone in the dark even after being killed unfairly like that. "Someone came to save you?" At first, it didn't make sense to him, until he remembered that she was actually real and is of another species from another realm, "Does this happen to everyone else?" Or was there a specific criteria that an individual has to pass? To be honest, the idea of another realm like that interests him, since he's a Valkyr, he never had the chance to think much about the other side. Only that he died and came back as another thing entirely. The complete opposite of what he used to be.

Even then, it was hard to process what had happened. "Aurazin…" he repeated that word a few more times until it felt right on his tongue, "sounds like a pretty name to call yourselves. How long have you been roaming around? Have you, I mean have you been here on Earth before this?" He was curious to know that, had she been tracking him down and couldn't manage to find a way to speak to him before this? Or was this the first time she sought him out? "Did you try finding me before this?" If the world is a big place, Adriel felt like he just grew tinier before her. Bloodlust and Valkyr don't mix well, not a lot could manage to get themselves out of that issue that would later continue to plague and chain them down, leaving them to revel in their primal instincts. "It's not easy to win over it… I know someone who first experienced it and honestly my case is mild compared to hers" At least he didn't have a hard time trying to digest blood from any source, if he wasn't mistaken, Cecilia first encountered her bloodlust with her own Volakiri, which made everything worse.

"Does that mean… will I forget you were ever here when you have to go back?" There was a certain lump he couldn't forgo, he didn't want to forget. Though it might seem selfish, Adriel didn't want to run himself down with the guilt again. "Despite the minimal time you might spend with her… I think she would've wanted to spend even a few minutes with you" if that happened to him, he would've taken the chance. "Especially when she has lived countless lives… immortality seeps in and you realize waiting forever isn't everything after all." The blond swore when he heard the name uttered, everything stopped. That name sounded too familiar and the fact that it belongs to a Valkyr most of them knew very well didn't sit well with him. "Cecilia? Do you mean… Cecilia Laterza?" He tried his best to not sound shaky as he tried to confirm his suspicions. Celia had a reputation to herself and suffice to say, Adriel knew of it personally. Was there another Cecilia?

“No one is fearless” she insisted in response to his words but nodded her head “But it can be a useful skill to be able to fake confidence” of course she had been scared and angry and every other combination of negative emotion that came with dying. It wasn’t a pleasant experience and she didn’t enjoy reminiscing back to it. “Yeah, someone like me, who could sense that I was lost and needed help” she was always grateful for being saved and that was exactly why she chose to become like them and help others too “Not everyone, only those who get lost on the way to the final realm, everyone else finds peace” she nodded, and most people they found in the void, passed forward to there too.

She nodded slightly when he said that Aurazin was a pretty name “They call us that because we can sense someone’s aura when we’re around them...we can tell someone’s nature just some seeing them, that’s how I knew it was safe to be around you” his colors were quite laid back honestly, though the hints of purple there definitely showed some anxiety and uncertainty about his life. “On and off since it happened, we come here on assignments, we’re given someone to help and we search them out and guide them as needed” usually with comfort in a painful time in their life. “I’ve seen you before...from a distance” she admitted as she nodded “I wanted to see how your life unfolded after things happened” and she was glad to see that he’d managed to get himself together honestly.

“I know that... I think that’s how I came to accept my reality in time...I don’t think there was anything you could have done that night to change what happened” he was out of control and there was no one else there to stop him. She was unfortunate enough to be the one in the way of his blood-stained path. She bit her lip when he asked her if he was going to have to forget about her if she had to go back “Yes...though the memories will be gone, the feelings you found behind them will stay...you’ll know somewhere in the back of your mind that I forgive you” he hoped he could find enough peace in that. Her expression showed sadness when he pointed out that she should take the chance to be with the one she loved, even if it had a deadline “I know I give the impression of strength, but I’m not sure my heart could handle another goodbye” he commented in a soft voice, hoping he would understand.

She widened her eyes when he mentioned Ce’s full name and she shifted on the spot “You know Ce?” she asked in a soft voice, pressing her lips together, well she wasn’t expecting that.

Adriel was sure that was probably a skill he would never be able to replicate without turning red, "Not something I'm particularly going to be good at, for sure" he wasn't a bad liar, in fact the blond could lie pretty well given the circumstances and the seriousness of said lie but he couldn't fake confidence. "That sounds like a really cool job" he murmured, her being able to reach out to people who died wrongfully and was able to help the people who needed that. At least she brought her kindness with her. Adriel obviously learned who he killed afterwards and all he had to hear about Arcadia's former self was that she was this kind person who didn't deserve to get her life robbed like that. "Everyone else found peace…" he muttered to himself, "I never actually thought that kind of option existed" he would've thought supernaturals had their own limbo or something. "I imagined supernaturals have a different place for them but I guess not, so many mysteries of the world that have yet to be encoded."

Just because there wasn't anything else he could've done, doesn't mean Adriel was able to forget that he did, and killed someone. It continues to haunt him until today and keeps him away from direct feeding. Which was somewhat a good thing for the blond. But he was glad that she could sense people's auras and therefore knew it was perfectly safe to be around him considering he would never think of hurting someone. "Do all aurazin do that too? They help and comfort people like guardians?" He never really understood why people like them existed but it was a good thing to have naturally good parties to come and spread some good in this world where it was often ridden by the darkness. Upon confirming that she had, indeed, kept an eye out for him, Adriel felt another wave of relief washing over him, "That… is a relief to know this isn't your first time wanting to see me." It meant she really did forgive him. The idea of having his memories wiped was honestly scary because who wouldn't freak out knowing someone is going to tamper with your head?

Adriel was not excluded from the bunch either, despite Arcadia reassuring him it wouldn't change much. "I hope you won't have to… I want to remember this meeting we shared between us" he mumbled. Maybe it was to ease the guilt he still felt or maybe it was nice to see her again. He knew his entire world quite literally fell into shambles before his eyes upon finding out that the woman she meant is no other than Cecilia Laterza herself. That's… trouble. Adriel has already had a rough patch with her a few centuries ago and now? If she found out he was the reason Arcadia was robbed away from her, she would not spare him. "I… I mean, to be honest, what valkyr wouldn't know Cecilia Laterza… she's quite the name around us" her reputation really did precede her. "She's going to kill me if she finds out I took you away from her… oh my god how am I going to escape her" because the easy answer is, no one does.

She laughed dryly when he said he wasn’t very good at faking confidence “It’s not so hard, you’d be surprised how much a smile can sell” she spoke softly before allowing a natural smile to cross her lips as she stared back at him. She nodded in agreement when he pointed out that the job she did was cool “It feels important, like I’m actually making a difference and helping people, perhaps even in some cases, saving them” she had managed to talk a few people off a ledge before after all. “It’s honestly quite beautiful, I’ve never been there but I know it’s warm and...happy” she nodded her head thoughtfully and it comforted her knowing eventually she could go there “Are supernaturals any less worthy of happiness?” she questioned wondering what he thought of it.

It seemed like he had found some peace in knowing that when people passed they weren’t in pain and found some sort of purpose “Not all of them, others choose to go down the Shepherd route, they stay away from earth but help other people like us, lost in the void and show them the way to get to where they need to go” each job was equally important in her mind. She raised a curious brow when he said it was relieving to know that it wasn’t the first time she wanted to see him “I’m a curious person” she confessed and shifted slightly on the spot “You’re not the monster the world tried to paint you to be” she observed, nodding her head slightly.

“Me too” she agreed with him, she hated having to take people’s memories away and fade into the background in their lives, it made her sad knowing she would lose touch with everyone around her “It’s one of the hardest parts of being who I am, knowing the marks I make on the world have to stay hidden...but I find healing...it stays” she gave a small smile hoping it would comfort him knowing that forgiveness would last. She gave a curious raise of her brow when Adriel seemed visibly concerned by the mention of Ce’s names “Hey...calm down” she reassured him before putting her hand on his shoulder “She doesn’t have to know okay, nothing good is gonna come out of that” knowing Ce she would be furious but what good did that bring anyone?
