Raised to be the perfect assassin, Skylar found that it was impossible to completely leave that life behind her. She realised she yearned for the hunt---to infiltrate and procure. Sure, working at the gym was great and helped her find some kind of purpose, but it was being a mercenary that really made her feel whole. Most of the time, her reputation preceded her, and she usually take jobs that were sent to her personally. But once in a while, she'd check out the open jobs out in the community, just to see if any particular mark sparked her curiosity. Today was such a day, and the angel child found herself scanning through the hits. One picture caught at her attention: an Initia woman named Adaliya Cherone, but now went by the name of Charlie Kinzle. Usually, it would be the nature of the job that would tempt Sky to take it on, but that wasn't the case here: something about the hit seemed...off to the former assassin. She wasn't convinced to take on the hit, but Sky was now curious about "Charlie." What on earth could she had done to warrant a mark?

Procuring information about Charlie wasn't difficult. A couple of calls and a google search showed that Charlie was a forensics lab scientist in the ECPD, and also that she was an Initia master-in-training. Still, nothing gave a hint to why she was being hunted. Deciding to sate her curiosity, Sky was determined to find out on her own. She quickly tracked down Charlie's work schedule, and figured out her frequented places. It took just over a day for the East-Asian Nephilim to come up with the plan, and she knew for a fact that it would go well without a hitch. She knew exactly how to infiltrate and exactly to to extract the information she wanted. It wouldn't just happen over a day, but Sky was a patient woman---she knew how to play the game.

It was a weekday morning when the angel child made her way through the Nephilim territory in the south of Evermore. Garbed in a thick winter sweater and wool-lined leggings, her booted feet trudged through the blanket of snow that coated the pavement, heading towards a café not far from the precinct. The strap of her gym bag crossed her torso, something about it making it painfully obvious that it was used for gym needs. Her gloved hands pushed at the glass door, the comforting, hearty aroma of freshly baked goods and coffee beans rushing to her senses. She figured quickly why the Initia woman liked coming here so much.

Sky had timed this just right: as soon as the mercenary had got in line, who was next to come through to the door than Charlie herself. The Nephilim saw her take a place in the line behind her from her peripherals, nothing giving her a second glance as she focused on the menu in front. Once she'd reached the counter, she ordered herself a hot caramel latte and two blueberry muffins---Charlie's exact order. Sky had planned this so well that she new for a fact there were only two muffins left by the time she ordered, and that was going to be her opening.

She stepped aside after a paying, lingering near the collection counter, not too far from where Charlie made hers---just to be in earshot when the cashier informed the Initia woman that the muffins were sold out. Waiting more last moment to not rush the moment, she then turned to the woman, a small smile toying upon her rose-tinted lips. "I ordered two of those muffins---they're amazing, aren't they?" she started. "You can have one, on me." She let her smile linger for moment longer, only looking away once a barista passed her a doggie bag and the travel mug she'd given to them, now filled with the warm beverage. "I insist---it feels wrong for me to hoard two." A soft, musical laugh sounded from the Nephilim. "I'm Sky, by the way."
