Amia Grace Vertex was born and raised in Boston to initia parents Tamsin and Rupert. From a young age it had always been clear to both her parents and their initia tribe that Amia was out of the ordinary but not quite like the way they had been themselves. For the young blonde could always be found by the waters edge nearby either swimming or attempting to befriend the creatures of the sea.

But life would never be as perfect as it seemed to the outside world. After becoming of age for the initia tribe at the tender age of 13 it was clear too all that the youngster was a late bloomer, but somehow something seemed off with her as she grew distant to all and spent most of her time longing for the water. It was three days before her 15th birthday when the miracle happened. Sitting along the rock face glaring into her reflection alone she came to notice a strange glow surfacing in the ripples. Curiously she would stand up and decide to take a chance to touch the strange lighting. Feeling what felt like electricity pulse through her body as she placed her hand into the light she found the urge to find the source of the glow.

Inhaling deeply she dove underneath the water, leaving the world she knew behind her. Following the light underneath the surface for little more than what seemed like and hour she would come across the image of an underwater kingdom. As people say curiousity killed the cat and with curiousity setting in more than she hoped she decided to swim closer bumping into a tall brunette male figure ahead of her. Exhaling suddenly in shock her life would never be the same again for the once initia female.

Staying beside the leader of the Naiad tribe learning all there was to know about the species history and abilities after her calling, she would spend the next three years studying the way of Naiad life all until the fateful day. It was just before her 18th birthday when a group of humans would stumble across their humble abode causing chaos for all whom lived there. Being forced to leave for her own safety she would come across the supernatural city of Evermore. And after a comet struck the local dam she would find a new home in the local crater alongside her fellow tribe members.
