Cassian grew up and had spent most of his childhood living on the Eastern cost of Canada. He had a scheduled upbringing by his parents Eadric and Florianne d’Evaliste, who had made sure that he stuck to his studies and never strayed away to go out to see and interact with other people. He had lived in a small town, where everyone knew each other and where not many secrets were not known by people. One of the reasons why Cassian’s parents were strict on his upbringing was because they were afraid of him exposing them and what that they were at an early age. It had always been Cassian and his parents; he had the occasional pet to keep himself occupied. He had spent a lot of his time by himself; he had no friends, his parents. When Cassian had finally reached the age of puberty his parents had finally agreed to let him into the world, to let him be around other people of his age and into society. Cassian had been a timid boy throughout his childhood; he was still keeping to himself within the years that he had spent at school. He preferred his school work. Reading books and other hobbies over having a social life. Over times, years even, his parents had taught him how to interact with others to be polite and courteous. In a few short years, his parents had done all they could and best to time him of what he had missed out on in his childhood. As much as he had despised his parents for their actions of serving him from the world during his childhood, he was happy that they were willing to try to make up for it.
What his parents hadn’t realized nor noticed about Cassian what the he had a hidden dark side that was hiding underneath all of the amicable, the kind and polite layers. All of those years that he had lived in almost complete solitude had done a number of him, changing him. One of the other things that had triggered it, setting it off was betrayal. People who he thought and considered were his friends and allies had spread rumours about him, which had turned people against him and had even purposely called fights with him. Unable to hold it in for any longer, Cassian had murdered three of his friends who had travelled to the nearby lake for the summer. He drowned all three of them and totalled the boat that they were riding on. Unable to gather much evidence of what had happened on that day, the police had concluded for it to be a freak accident but Cassian’s parents had only but to glance at the crime scene to understand what had taken place and happened. One morning he had woken up after taking a shower noticing a tribal tattoo that had appeared on his back. Cassian had no idea, nor clue of why and how the tattoo had gotten on his skin. He had been feeling a burning and itching pain on his back for a couple of days although he had always thought none of it. After the appearance of the tattoo Cassian had found that he was now able to do things that he had thought wasn’t possible, he knew that it could have been the reasons behind what he had done, killing his friends. He had approached his parents about the tattoo; it was then when they knew that they could not keep lying to Cassian anymore. He had learnt of the reason why he had felt different; he was an initia, a supernatural creature who could control an element. Fearful that someone would somehow link the deaths to their son, Cassian’s parents had decided to escape and leave before someone found out. They hurriedly packed all of their belongings and what they could, leave the small and once peaceful town behind.
For at least a year, the d’Evaliste family had been on the move around North America, having no permanent home and were just living without motels and B&BS since what had happened. Evermore city was a place where a few supernatural friends of Cassian’s’ parents had lived, they had mentioned as the place of a type of sanctuary. Eadric and Florianne had never thought of permanently living there or at least just pass by it. Having nowhere else to go and sick of moving from place to place, the d'Evaliste Family had agreed to stay, meeting others of their kind and even many other species; friendly and hostile. Evermore is a sanctuary, to connect with other Initia. The d'Evalistes couldn't be happier to be a part of Evermore's Initia tribe.
