The Aldridge have long since been known in Paris as one of the most powerful and strong Dhampir families. Their main occupation was to be a Vampire protector and they had successfully protected many of the most well-known Vampires in the world. Theron Aldridge the first vampire protector of the clan and was known by everyone as the Pillar of the Aldridge family. He was well-trained and an expert in the art of handling weapons. He was extremely well-known and many would ask for him to be their protector. One of those who approached him was a man called Gonzales Barques, a very wealthy and influential vampire. Theron agreed to work for him and that was how he met Gonzales’ business partner Edward Bishop, the father of a beautiful girl called Charlotte.

Though Gonzales tried to hide the fact well, Theron noticed that he was quite enamoured with the girl but never had the courage to approach her and Theron would try to encourage him. Just as Gonzalez was building up the courage, Charlotte was claimed to be betrothed by one of the most powerful and egotistical Dhampirs that ever existed; Alexander Salvano VI. Gonzalez’s rage was beyond description but he couldn’t do anything about it in the fear of hurting Charlotte.

From that time both Barques and the Aldridge held mutual hatred for the Salvano family. They didn’t harm them, but just intensely disliked the way Alexander carried himself in his boorish ways. Both Gonzalez and Theron were in a fit of rage, especially on seeing who Charlotte was becoming and would think about just destroying the man, but they of course did not carry out such actions.

As the years went by, Theron married the cousin of his dear friend Barques. With her, he had four children- three sons and one daughter. They continued their fathers occupation of being Vampire protectors and soon the family were known as the Iron-willed Aldridge. They would attend social functions and be on the top of their game, but their dislike towards the Salvano family still continued. As time progressed. it got transferred from Alexander to his son Raymond and later to Jonathan. They made sure that none of their family or friends had any contact with either of the Salvano heirs.

The Aldridge continued building their empire, adding more family and friends to their circle but the memory of their hatred towards the Salvanos was diminishing. As the years went by the Salvano name was almost ancient history and the feud forgotten. It was now the four generations of Aldridge later after Theron and the head of the family was the one and only Warren Aldridge. In his travels around Europe, he met a woman by the name of Esmeralda, the daughter of a local bookstore owner. It was love at first sight. They married three months later and after four years of marriage they had two children, a girl and a boy, twins by the names of  Valeria and Florentin.

However, Esmeralda’s ex-boyfriend Mateo, who was envious of Warren hatched a plot to kidnap the babies. When they were two years of age, he hired despicable people like himself to capture them from a park Esmeralda used to visit everyday. But the plan was not entirely successful for he could only get hold of the younger child Florentin and not Valeria. Initially Mateo had planned on killing Florentin, but at the advice of his brother decided to change his mind. He arranged for Warren to be deceived by the rumor of his son’s death. He kept Floren for himself and fed him false tales of Warren’s cruelty, making him believe that Warren was responsible for his family’s death.

Being hardly two at the time of his kidnapping, Florentin hardly remembered his childhood before coming to Mateo and grew up in an atmosphere of hatred and revenge towards Warren and his family. From a very young age he was trained with the sole intention of destroying Warren. He was a quick learner and driven with a purpose, his skills developed rapidly. Mateo also told him how they were different from the humans and taught him all there was to know about the Dhampirs, a species that protected those that couldn’t protect themselves.

Apart from training, during his teen years Florentin was also interested in skateboarding and art, especially in the artistry of tattoos. The fact of gaining the ability and skill to etch something permanent and meaningful on someone was something that impressed the young Dhampir. He began assisting the local tattoo artist while learning the artistry as his apprentice.

In his free time, the young Dhampir would spend time in the nearby skate rink perfecting tricks like ollies and grinding rails on his skateboard. It was here where he would spray paint and test out designs of future tattoos on the free non-tagged space of the surrounding walls. His signature while tagging the walls was always the words ‘lost boy’ with a small question mark. As everything about his life was always a question with no concrete answer.

Though Mateo provided for all the basic needs and busted him out of overnight stays in police stations, they were never really a family and Florentin found himself going back again and again, staring and studying the only clue he ever had of finding his bloodline and  his roots; the rattle which he had since childhood.

According to Mateo, Warren Aldridge had made sure that his family were dead and that Mateo and his brother had come upon the scene by chance, where they managed to rescue him, but that was all he could offer about his past. Anytime he brought it up, Floren also got the distinct impression that Mateo was furious with his constant questioning regarding his family and hence learned to keep his curiosity to himself as the years went by.

All he knew of his past was the initials F.J.B.A carved beautifully on the rattle within the design of a tree and though he did not know how he would find more about a family that was already dead, it served as a reminder to take revenge on the man who had caused it all, all his pain and sufferings, a man who was still very much alive.

On his eighteenth birthday, as was the custom, his weapon claiming ceremony took place in the garden shed with just Mateo present. He picked up all the weapons there one by one but even after his expert handling none would claim him. Angry and dejected he stormed out, when his movements disturbed a box of tools and farming equipment. As soon as he picked up the sickle, it glowed a bright purple shade and the runes appeared. Florentin was surprised but content that he had finally found his weapon, and a really unusual one at that.

Deciding on pursuing his passion for tattoo artistry as a side hobby, he enrolled in the local community college and studied to become an Orderly in the hospital. His graduation ceremony was the thing that cemented his burning desire for revenge; the sight of every one of his friends and fellow graduates, except him, being surrounded by their own family drove home, the hatred he had been harbouring towards Warren and his family escalated. It was then that he approached Mateo and demanded to know about them. Seeing the anger and determination of the young Dhampir, with hidden delight Mateo gave him all the details about them that he too had been secretly collecting over the years.

Florentin’s first instinct was to go after Warren but he knew if he killed him, his suffering would only be momentary. He wanted the man to suffer, as he had, without his family and decided to go after the people he cared about the most. First, starting with his daughter Valeria. Armed with all the required information and with a resolute purpose, Florentin left for Evermore. This is where he heard she had made her residence and he knew that no matter what, he wouldn’t allow anything to hinder him from achieving the retribution he had been craving for all these years.
