BIOGRAPHY
Born as Verzella Cherone, in a small town known as Stonehenge, located somewhere in Australia. It was on a very hot day, Her parents were known as Odina and Alo Cherone. Their father, Alo was a strong warrior and their mother, Odina who is a French native was more spiritual than others, as many did not believe in her beliefs. She believed that things like medicine were not good for the human body. Whereas she was one with the earth and believing that earth itself had special healing powers.
Verzella was a drunken mistake. Her parents weren't expecting to have another child. He knew his wife's fragile body wouldn't withstand another birthing of a child. Her mother became very ill months before she was born, causing her to die after Verzella was born. She wasn't the only child in the family, as she had an older sister by the name of Adaliya who was five years older than her. For days, Alo couldn't look at Verzella as he thought he was being punished. He lost the love of his life to a child he barely knew. Yet as Verzella grew stronger, Alo couldn't keep himself from being mad at her any longer as it wasn't her fault at all.
Verzella grew up to be a very witty, wiseass-y sort of child. She was blunt when she spoke and very honest. Her whole life she felt like Adaliya didn't like her. That it was her fault their mother died. She was at the dinner table when her sister was told she had to go to the tribe to learn more about her water element. Their mother wanted her to go, Adaliya was more than eager to go. Verzella felt hard broken, believing she left because of her. Yet she knew how nerdy she was with her books. Although their relationship was on the rocks, Verzella hoped one day they would be sisters. It wasn't long until Adaliya was sent off to the tribe for classes, Verzella was left home with Alo.
While her sister was gone, she grew closer with her father over the past few years. They knew everything about each other and grew into a very loving father-daughter relationship. They were inseparable, her father being her best friend. They understood each other well. As Alo knew how Verzella missed her sister. He wanted them to do some father-daughter bonding. He told her that her mother and himself thought she was destined for greatness. He picked up a old large book their mother had and every night, read each element for her to hear. Hoping of getting some sort of expression for her. He knew just wanted to get her into their species. She seemed to eye the book when he mentioned the 'fire' and 'earth' elements in the book. Verzella began to get talkative and playful talk back to her father. She was the type of little girl to always tell you what was wrong. She was very honest and blunt for her age, causing her to be grown into that.
As Verzella got older and allowed to read the book herself. She still liked how the fire and earth sounded. Wanting to find which one called to her the most. So he decided to travel to other places around Australia to look at all the different tribes. Their father was well known everywhere. Allowing everyone from the two tribes to tell their story and how their element was the best. Yet, their father never visited Adaliya's tribe. Due to the fact that he didn't want to disturb her classes. As Verzella was deciding on what element she wanted. She thanked everyone for their help and off they went home. Verzella spent the next few days in her room, trying to get the concept of both elements. Weighing out the good and the bad. At that point, she didn't care what element took her. She just wanted the anticipation to stop.
Verzella was already at the age of seven, not having gotten the mark on her birthday like her sister. Which only set more worriedness in her mind. What if she wasn’t an inita like her sister? Just another reason for Adaylia to dislike her. One early morning, she woke up as she did her daily routine. Brushing her teeth, taking a shower (etc) only to look at herself in the mirror as she was taking her clothes off for the shower. Witnessing right before her very own eyes. A tattoo forming for the fire element. A high pitched squeal escaped her lips. Alo rushing as fast as he could to check on Verzella as he noticed the tattoo on her lower back. He grinned so wide. Alo was very proud of his daughter. It was finally time to start her training.
Years later, their father received a very interesting phone call as he was helping Verzella train with her element. Before she knew it, they were on the road to her sister's tribe. The female on the phone had informed Alo that there were rumors of Adaliya murdering the grandmaster, but after a few days of interrogating her. She was set free. She says she’s not the killer, yet many people would think she was. Considering she was found with his body and the weapon in her hand. Very suspicious. She sat in the front of Alo as her older sister was in the backseat. As they drove home in silence. Verzella couldn't take the silence and simply asked what everyone wanted to know. 'Did you really do? Did you really kill the Grand Master?' Verzella turned her head to look at her, curiously. Alo, their father gave a quick glare to Verzella which caused her to shrug her shoulders and sling back into her seat. She knew her sister didn't kill that man. She was just too small to kill an older man.
Later that night, Verzella was in the shower when Adaliya and their father had a secret conversation. She only heard the last part. She knew their father believed them and was glad to have her older sister back. However, that wasn’t the only reason why she was excited. It was her 12th birthday. Needless to say, she was wide awake throughout the whole night. Not only was it her birthday, but it was also her ceremony day. Verzella had decided to go back to the tribe she felt connected to. It was a little bit away, but it was worth it to feel like she belonged somewhere.
The day of the ceremony, her older sister decided to stay home. For safety reasons. Before leaving, Adaylia had prepared a cake and some candles with her own present to give. An apology letter as to why she couldn’t go on the journey. Verzella, of course understood.
It took a few days to journey back to the tribe where her ceremony happened. It was the most beautiful thing she had witnessed. It finally felt like she belonged somewhere. To finally stand in her sisters shoes and to know how she felt. The tribe offered for her to stay, as it was all she could talk about. However, Alo was too worried to allow her to stay in a tribe that was a little bit aways, as anything could happen. As it did Adaylia. So Alo decided to train his daughter at home. The journey back, Verzella was unhappy. Things were different with this tribe. No one was out to kill each other, but their father didn't want to hear any of it. Verzella sat with arms crossed with a big pout on her face, the whole way home.
Finally reaching home. Alo decided they needed much family time together. Demanding both girls go grocery shopping with. Verzella was still pouting. Adaylia understood why, but she wasn’t going to press the issue. Later that night as they had gotten home. A letter was taped to their door. It was being addressed to her sister. A sting of jealousy hit. Adaylia had] the cool stuff and now all the sudden, people were leaving her letters. Although, it just wasn’t any letter. The next thing she knew. Their father was packing their bags. This was the last time they would have seen their father as he explained what was going on and how it wasn’t safe for them here anymore. Verzella wasn’t too happy that her sister was now in charge.
It was in the middle of the night when they had left. Their father sent them to a close friend's house, by the name of Kinzle. They had arrived. Kinzle gave them the tour as he showed them the room they’d be staying in. Verzella felt oddly connected to him after she had learned he was their mother's older brother. She never got the chance to meet her mother. It was something she regretted from the day she was born. Finally understanding why she felt as if her sister hated her. Not that she would ever bring that up with her. It wasn’t a conversation that she didn’t want to have. It would have only brought her more pain.
She didn't want this to strain their relationship and hoped it wasn't strange for them to get along. They were put into the same room. Their beds on either side of the room. It didn't take long for Kinzle to pull them into training with their elements. They versed each other and had solos with him to learn new techniques and strategies. Verzella grew to be stubborn and headstrong as she learned how to control her element. It only made her want to know more about it. While Kinzle took a small journey for food and supplies. The two girls roamed about the house in search of any photos or information pertaining to their mother. They had finally found some old photographs of their mother and Kinzle when they were younger. Verzella thought her mother looked so beautiful and looked exactly like Adaliya yet they both had her eyes. She finally found a few books her mother wrote herself when she was a little girl of her Earth elements and information about the other species.
As Adaliya slept. Verzella spent the night reading her mother's journals. She could understand why her father fell in love with her; she believed her mother was a smart woman and wished she could have met her. Just things didn't work out that way. The next night while Adaliya trained by herself. Kinzle brought Verzella into the next room to have a conversation about her first. He could see how she was trying to foreshadow her sister, move the way she moved and he wanted to show her that she had to be her own person. Figure out her own way of learning techniques and strategies to better herself with training. Verzella began to study more on her own element, fire. With all the information on the fire element. She became impatient on how much she had to learn. This aggravated her, yet her stubbornness wouldn't stop her from putting the book down. Every day, Kinzle would take her and Adaliya to a spot near their house to train. Each of them learning each technique and having several days in between to train. He could see how frustrated Verzella was with hers as Adaliya went with the flow. As she learned more, the powers to her element became easier to manipulate. It took several months for her to gain more control of each power.
Ever since Verzella learned that Kinzle was her mother's brother so she wanted to speak with him about her and how she was a spunky young woman. She learned how her mother was born in Paris, their father was an earth element dweller as well. He wanted Verzella to be more connected with her mother as she thought she wasn't. They were getting closer with the stories of her mother. She was a very known woman of their tribe before she was born. Verzella finally confessed and vented to Kinzle on the thought of Adaliya not liking her because of their mother's death. Kinzle sat her down and spoke to her about it. He believed, yes, she was probably upset at first but knew as she got older it wasn't her fault. It just happened. Verzella decided it was long past due for her to write Alo a letter. By telling him how she knew why dad chose her and remembered the story they told them about how they met. They had received his letters by mail once a month. It was always the best day for her when she got his letters. Missing her father, yet it allowed the two sisters to grow their bond with the help of Kinzle. Always supporting them along the way. He was like a father to him as well, always making sure the two of them were safe. Strongly making a bond between the two girls. After a while, the two of them started to form a bond that was developing over time. Allowing Verzella to get what she always wanted, an older sister.
Kinzle soon brought Verzella into the next room to go over the types of titles an Initia can have. Explaining how master-in-training only allowed you to learn one element. As Diverse allowed you to learn more than one. He placed his hand onto his heart and told her, he was indeed a Diverse. After long hours of asking questions about each title, Verzella had plenty of time to think of where she wanted to go. After months of deciding on her own path. She chose to be diverse. Allowing herself to only want to learn two elements. The next one becoming Earth, just like her mother. Although, she never even met the woman. All her journals made her feel like they would have gotten along so well.
It was finally time where her sister had her ceremony on which path she would take. A friend of Kinzle's by the name of Fanner came to visit. He had been a German soldier, Kinzel met at a war he was in. After the war, he became a master. He couldn't stay long as he only came for an overdue favor to Kinzle. Verzella felt mad with envy as she wanted to be older and choose her own path already as well. She thought her years of a teenager had been played out and that she wanted to be an adult just like her sister. To do whatever she wanted and not have to answer to anyone. Adaliya finally chose the path to be a master in training. Her sister never wanted to learn another element.
Just as she finally felt connected to the only person who was like her mother had just announced that he had an incurable sickness. He had been to the doctors many times and had said he only had a few years to live and that time was slowly coming to an end. It wasn't long until Kinzle grew sicker and more weary as the girls knew he didn't have much to live. Verzella as if she was losing a very important family member in their family. The last person who knew all about their mother. Verzella soon locked herself in their bedroom, she just couldn't believe the news she received. Everyone she had grown to love was dying, causing Verzella to become depressed. Kinzel had died peacefully in his sleep.
The very next day. They kissed his cheeks as they were saying goodbye. Verzella was a blubbering mess as the girls had put a small ceremony together where they rested his body on some wood. Flower petals laying against his frame as Adaylia used her water powers to gently glide him across the lake into a fare well passing as she flicked a light onto his body. As they watched the boat light up with the flames, the two hugged each other and cried. He was like a second father to him. It stung. Everything stung to the point where it felt like everyone and everything was dying around the two sisters.
Years passed, for it was time Verzella had her own ceremony. Fanner arrived back to the house for her to receive her title within the Initia tribe. He also told them of the great news he heard. The person who stalked her sister was long gone but not captured. Allowing them to go home if she ever wanted. As the ceremony was being taken place. She chose to dedicate the ceremony to Kinzle. Choosing to be a Diverse just like him and picking her second element to be Earth. After the ceremony, she wrote her father a long letter which told him what she decided on and how thankful she was to have him as a father. Her sister was proud of her in choosing her path. Fanner offered them a ride home but simply declined the offer as Kinzle's place was their home.
It was the worst few days the two had experienced in their lives. They both stayed in their rooms. The house was just too quiet, they missed his yelling voice echoing throughout the house. All this waiting like something was going to happen started to make them even more depressed so they decided to clean the house. It didn't take long for the two of them to start cleaning out the house to make them better. They finally put up the courage to clean out his room as it was the hardest thing to do. They made their way to his bedroom and began to clean out his closet when they noticed a false wall in the closet. Curious as they were, they pushed the false wall away that opened to a small room, only room for a coffin-like suitcase they found. The words 'open' me was typewritten on a piece of paper. Kinzle leaving a note for the girls, Adaliya pulle the letter from the suitcase and read it. Knowing that he was sick for so long, he decided to save as much money as he could for them to live a peaceful life. They were the daughters he never had. He had also left them a key pertaining to a cheat for everything in the house. It was all theirs. They had a place to call home, permanently. Although she missed Kinzle, they were very grateful for his generosity. As they pulled it out, they released there were thousands of dollars in it.
Verzella felt like everything was finally falling into place. They had so much money to themselves and over the next few years of their life were set into stone. Over the following years to come, they invited their father over as much as they can as he was their missing key in their life. The next few years, Adaylia had some renovations done on the house, in order for it to be up to date. However, as soon as the renovations were done. Something was itching inside her sister. Verzella sat down with her sister as her sister suggested they should travel to Paris where some of her mother’s family was located. It was finally time they met the rest of the family.
It wasn't long before the two of them received their monthly letter from their father. Except this time, it was different. Verzella was in the next room as Adaliya read the letter first without her sister. That next night, Adaloya sat her sister down and told her the news of their father. Adaliya hugged her sister tight and told her it was going to be okay. She explained to her how their father passed away peacefully in his sleep. They gave him a ceremony he deserved as pictures were attached. It also states in the letter in his wife, that the house was left to them and a handful of money. Not to be worried about the house as their father knew they were ready to come home. The house had been left to a housekeeper in charge to keep up the house chores. Her sister packed their bags as they overstayed their welcome in Paris and decided they needed a place of their own to settle down and start their lives together. Their mother’s family told them about a ship docking off the ocean within the next twenty-four hours if they wanted a safe trip. Their best bet was to get to the United States with much haste. They knew they could always come back to their two homes. It was just too hurtful to stay there at the time.
Placing everything they had such as letters and pictures within their bags as they were off to meet the boat. The Port wasn't too far off as they said their goodbyes to their mother's family. It was just her sister and her sister now. Off on a new adventure. As Adaliya held Verzella close, she could see how nervous yet excited she had become. Curious to see how the United States were.
The ship had finally arrived. A young man with brunette hair soon made an appearance, his eyes instantly looking at her sister. He asked how he could help them and Adaliya did all the talking, telling him they needed to catch a ride to America. That they also had the money if it were needed. With a smile, he shook his head and told her they didn't need any. Once he asked for their names, Verzella began to open her name to tell hers until she was stopped by Adaliya. By Adaliya giving them completely different names, Verzella just turned to look at her sister in such an odd way. The male finally introduced himself as Sirius. Adaliya simply nudged her to be quiet. Verzella asked why she changed their names and Adaliya told her it was simply for the best. The two had a crazy childhood and if they wanted a new life somewhere else, they would need new names. After that, Verzella became Laine and the two waited for the ship to sail to America. There was not much for them in Australia as everyone they knew were dead besides the house that were left for them but it wasn't home anymore.
It didn't take long for them to hear a knock on their door, the same brunette male came into their room and apologized for eavesdropping but told them of a place called Evermore City in Colorado where a lot of people were finding their own forever safe haven. Verzella glanced at Adaliya as her face lit up. It was like Adaliya had heard of the place before he believed it were a perfect place to live. She went on to tell Verzella that her and Kinzle spoke of this place when he was alive. There had been rumors that a few supernatural creatures found their homes there in the territories they were assigned to. Everyone had their own community and more people like them. This intrigued Verzella into going. The two agreed that this place were perfect for them. They both agreed to go with him. Verzella rolled her eyes as she thought they were awkwardly flirting with one another. As he left the room, Verzella teased Adaliya by telling her the guy known as Sirius, liked her. Adaliya gave her another nudge and told her to shut up which caused Verzella to laugh at her.
It took a few weeks to arrive to America. As they finally docked, Verzella practically flew onto the dock with the help of Sirius' lending a hand. Their bags were soon placed upon the dock beside them. As Adaliya thanked Sirius for everything, Verzella nodded her head in agreement. Also thanking the male for his kindness and his help. Again, they offered him some money and again, he declined. He was simply appreciated on how kind he was, thinking if no one was kind to him. He was just a sweet guy. As the two spoke, Verzella noticed a 1965 Pontiac, two door coupe that been waiting for a few minutes before the ship docked. Sirius finally noticing the car. The male stepped out and helped the two of them out their bags in the trunk and the backseat of the car. They had so much luggage. Sirius said his farewell and wished them safe on their trip to Evermore City. Adaliya slipped into the driver's seat and Verzella sat on the passenger side. They gave a final wave of goodbye and soon took off to Evermore City. It only took a few hours to get there, Verzella thinking it was more. America was such a different place compared to where they came from. Verzella helped Adaliya pull the map from the glovebox to see where they were so they could become the right route to Evermord City. Before they knew it, the sign that said 'Welcome to Evermore City!' was seen several yards away. They were finally home as they could finally start a new life and not look back to their old sad ones.
It wasn't long until they found their paths within the initia tribe. As a few years passed, Adaliya found her as a master in training for the water element. She was always off busy studying to later take the position if it were presented to her. Verzella was off doing her own thing by refreshing her fire powers on her own by studying and practicing as well as learning the way of the Earth element and all it had to offer. With living with her sister in their own house near the initia tribe territory, She knew Evermore City was where she needed to be.
