Alexandria Lynd was born into the high born life, her parents were never around, busy with their own lives. Her nanny, Angelica, raised the baby girl as soon as the newborn left her mothers womb naming her Rosetta a couple weeks later since the young infant become Angelica's own. Taking care of the baby for the rest of her childhood until Alexandria was old enough to fend for herself. But even then Angelica still took care of the young girl, fortunate to have some one raising her, helping her and teaching her everything she needed to know growing up. But when Rosetta's real parents came to town it was like a fresh hell a young Rosetta never knew before, at such a young age Rosetta had to grow up and learn how to carry herself in front of big name people.
Rosetta's life had to be picture perfect at every second, she had to learn hobbies, speak languages, play instruments and get the highest grade point average at the fanciest school money could buy. Rosetta excelled at everything she did, her parents wrath fueling her to study and do her homework everyday including the weekends, she had no life. The only peace the young girl had was playing the cello and guitar, two instruments she actually like playing. Angelica was the only fun the young girl ever had, always planning fun baking recipes, camping out in the backyard, teaching Rosetta dances from her country. Angelica did anything to make the child smile and lose the stress that held Rosetta down. But it was all short lived when the girls actual mother came rolling into that afternoon when the pair were baking a birthday cake for Rosetta's thirteenth birthday. Angelica knew her pride and joy's mother forgot another birthday and the look in little Rosetta's eyes, as they watered made the nanny furious.
It was night fall when Rosetta was sitting in her tent reading a book for school, a small record player was softly playing when she heard shouting from inside the mansion, Rosetta turned up her record player to drown out the yelling. Shortly after her tent bursted open and her mother, Susan grabbed her and pulled her inside and dragged the kicking and screaming child into her room locking the door from the outside. Sobbing Rosetta looked out the window staring into the full moon, until the door to her room was unlocked and Angelica came in carefully holding her cake with lit candles singing 'Happy Birthday' in french. Rosetta had a smile ear to ear and made a wish for herself, to have a new life someday. The duo stayed up for the majority of the night telling scary stories, Angelica always told the ones of a wolf so large in a village somewhere, it was her way of telling the young girl whom she adored so much and loved with every bit of her heart what she truly was. Rosetta was never scared of the stories, it fascinated her and made her wonder if all the horror stories were true.
And soon enough she did learn they were, Her father Martin came home the next morning, saying a small hello, giving his daughter a gift, a charm bracelet with her name on it. A happy Rosetta thanked her father who grabbed the paper to then head upstairs, there was silence while Rosetta went about eating her breakfast until her father yelled in agony, Rosetta ran to her father's aide only to see her mother curled up in a ball covered in blood rocking back and forth with slashes down her arm and chest. The police arrived and everyone was questioned, Rosetta looked to Angelica who looked worried, the young girl's mind raced as she walked to the cop car looking to her mother being taken to the hospital by ambulance. When the officer asked what happened Rosetta gave a run down of what happened up until this morning, lying about her mother locking her in her room. Rosetta looked to her nanny feeling eyes burning into the back of her head.
When the officer asked what Angelica and her mother fought about Rosetta lied again, claiming she didn't know and that she wasn't home, that she was at the library and when she came home the two stopped arguing for Rosetta's sake. Being dismissed Rosetta went with her father to the hospital, the whole way there gave Rosetta anxiety wondering if her mother would be alright and most of all what happened? When her father and Rosetta got there, the went straight to the Emergency room and had to wait for the doctor her mother was assigned. The wait was awful, Rosetta felt guilty for wondering what happened and all she could think of was the folk tales Angelica would tell her all the time. Did her nanny do this?
Rosetta saw her mother's doctor come out, there was no apologetic tone in the man's eyes and when he spoke that her mother was put in ICU and was sedated Rosetta sighed in relief, her father was pulled away by the doctor and Rosetta ran to the phone calling home in hopes Angelica would pick up. And she did. Rosetta asked many questions and Angelica answered with a simple sentence, that made Rosetta's heart drop and the phone slip out of her hands, as she felt the room spin. Never in a million years did Rosetta think her nanny the woman who raised her would do such a thing to her mother. Yes the woman was vile to Rosetta her whole life and chose to not raise or bother with the girl unless it was for appearances, but this made Rosetta collapse in a black out.
When she woke, she was in a hospital bed with Angelica sat at her side, the heart monitor started beeping rapidly exposing her racing heart. The nanny frowned and took the girls hand, Angelica explained how she was going to leave, how sorry she was and that she attacked her mother. Rosetta was lost and confused, scared and sad all at once. Young Rosetta didn't want her nanny to go, but angelica gave her address for a place in Colorado where she would be as well as letter explaining what really happened. Angelica left that day and from then on Rosetta was at her parents disposal. When her mother was better Rosetta's father began having strings of affairs and taking business trips, Rosetta needed to know what was going on. She snuck into her father's study and snooped around, and as careless as his actions were to his wife and child he left everything out in the open. A small black book was kept in the drawer of his desk, names and numbers, calling the one with the star Rosetta waited and when high pitched woman answered. Asking for her father the woman asked Rosetta why she needed to speak with her Fiancee, Rosetta hung up feeling bile rise up in her throat.
Within a few years Rosetta grew up and began high school where she found her love for writing short stories and journalism, while still playing the cello and the guitar, Rosetta had her little bits of happiness. Despite her father 's adultery, her mothers addiction to alcohol and prescription pills, and depression, Rosetta managed. She made friends and even had a little fling with a boy she met, Dylan, the two were inseparable and he made her parents happy since he was Rosetta's father biggest investors son. All was well in her life for the time being, but she felt odd most of the time like something was wrong and she couldn't pin point it but Rosetta would just get this feeling. And sure enough Dylan was sneaking around with Rosetta's friend Allison, but Rosetta was so numb to things. Dylan didn't want his parents to know so the two painted smiles on their faces for months. While her senior year went on Rosetta looked for colleges everywhere, her parents pushed Columbia til they were blue in the face, but Rosetta looked at The University of Colorado. The idea of seeing Angelica once more rang in the back of her mind for years.
Over the summer after Rosetta graduated from high school with honors, she went to Evermore, Colorado for a couple of weeks during the summer to see the University and possibly find Angelica. When Rosetta arrived in Colorado the first thing she did was take a tour of the campus and when it was over Rosetta took out the piece of paper that held the address Angelica gave to her all those years ago after her mother's injury happened. Finding the small home Rosetta went to the door and took a few deep breaths before she knocked, when the door open a young man answered. Rosetta asked for Angelica but the young man came out on the front porch and shut the door.
" So you're the infamous Rosetta... " The young man spoke looking her over.
" Uh, yes I am... Angelica was my- " Rosetta went to contiue on but the young man interupted.
" Nanny. I know, i'm Angelica's nephew Raphael. She use to speak of you a lot in her letters and phone calls. " The newely named man spoke.
Rosetta was confused by him and when she questioned why Raphael spoke in past tense of Angelica, she grew worried. Raphael told Rosetta what happened to his aunt and the woman who raised her, it was an accident when they went back to their home in Cannes. A group of hunters were waiting for the family of wolves when they landed, only Raphael and his younger brother made it out of their and onto the next plane back to the states. Rosetta cried silently and shook her head frantically trying to rid Angelica's nephews words from her mind but they were branded in her mind now. He invited her inside and he told her stories of Angelica, what they were and how they survived, how there were different types of wolves who followed order and who killed for sport. Rosetta learned a lot and was introduced to Angelica's family who lived in the States, and she fit in perfectly despite being human.
There was one thing Rosetta had to know while helping Raphael clean up from dinner was what did Angelica do to her mother, Raphael explained that the night of their argument Angelica finally confronted Susan about the way she treated Rosetta. And when Susan showed no real remorse Angelica lost her temper, and was to terrified to say anything and didn't want Rosetta to look at her any different. The story broke Rosetta's heart, Raphael left for a moment and came back with a gold necklace giving it to Rosetta. Rosetta smiled despite the tears falling down her cheeks, she remembered that golden crescent moon medallion and put it on and never took it off.
When Rosetta was back home in her hometown, she was out with friends having some drinks, when they all departed a figure was leaned upon her car. Stopping her movements Rosetta looked around, and turned the other and walked towards the bar she just left from. But steps echoed behind her, moving quicker was not a option for Rosetta because when she looked over her shoulder the front of her collided with a hard figure. Looking up at the man Rosetta went to scream, blacking out was all she remembered until she woke up in an alley, with no recollection of what happened Rosetta went home in panic with the hairs on the back of her neck sticking up every second, with each little noise making her jump. The dried blood on her clothes and the marks on her body, she covered up, she was good at covering up things just like when she was little. A week later, Rosetta had a break in and all her things were turned upside down, things missing like her journals, camera, notebooks from her school bag.
Within a month, Rosetta moved from home to Evermore Colorado, checking into a hotel for the time being, she went to Angelica's home only to see a for sale sign in the yard and no sign of life living there anymore. Rosetta stood in the yard in disbelief, she called her bank taking her college fund out and buying the home, she put college on hold and got a job waiting tables. She stayed under the radar for a while until some young guy just a few years older then her kept showing up asking her questions, recruiting her for some Organization and even though she denied and denied it, he kept coming back. Rosetta finally joined, putting her writing to good use as well as painting a happy picture with her cover up skills for Evermore Daily. But she still kept to herself, not giving anyone much information on who she was or what happened to her, keeping people at a arms length even when though she was lonely.
