Sage’s early years of life were filled with happiness and fond memories. Her father Dennis worked for the military, a Navy officer which meant they traveled around the world constantly. Her mother Tansy was a school teacher with a flair for science and technology. Her other brother Jake was a rambunctious troublemaker and her hero being nearly 6 years older than her. They were a tight knit family that stuck together, their home was one another and their stability was their love.

Sage’s mother tried to instill a love for science in both of her children but it became apparent that neither cared for the subject much. Jake was more interesting in military things like his father and Sage was fascinated by History and culture. Everywhere they went she was watching, listening, asking questions, and reading; her thirst for learning insatiable. Her father added fuel to the fire bringing her back books from all corners of the world when he was away from his family.

Tragedy struck as it sometimes does while they were living in Venezuela, breaking up the family unit. Jake had just turned 16 making him legal to drive and the family went out for ice cream to celebrate, her brother at the wheel. It was raining hard as it sometimes does in that area and a flash flood hit the bridge as they were going over. The water surged up over the sides pushing the cars into the river like they were little toys. Sage remembers feeling panicked and scared as they hung upside down, water steadily gushing into the confines of the car. Other cars came crashing into theirs only adding more problems to the situation. Jake managed to get himself free and at the urging of his father grabbed Sage and fought free of the car. Together the siblings fought through the raging waters to the shore where they both passed out.

Sage woke up days later in a hospital bed completely alone save for the nurses that were looking after her. She learned that her parents never made it out of the car though their bodies had been recovered for burial and her brother Jake had disappeared leaving her abandoned and alone. She never saw her brother again, though she heard rumors that he had gone and joined the military like he had always talked about. Where he was or what branch he was in she didn’t know or care to know, her anger and hurt too strong for her to get past.

After burying her parents, Sage went to live with her Aunt in Italy. It took a few years but Sage finally came out of her shell and started living again. In order to combat her sadness and anger she picked up a pencil and started sketching, an added talent to her repertoire. She passed through primary and secondary school at the top of her class, graduating with honors. From then on her life was one big adventure.

Sage went on to Columbia University where she studied Archeology and history earning her doctorate in both. She became a leading expert in ancient cultures, lost civilizations, and mythologies across the globe. She’s traveled to all corners of the world leading digs and excavations, cataloging finds, giving lectures, and setting up displays in museums everywhere. To get herself through college Sage further extended her artistic abilities shifting from paper & pencil to ink & skin; working nights at a tattoo parlor. Her pieces made her a name within that community allowing her to find work where ever she went.

In her spare time Sage can be found outdoors as she loves adventure and exploring new places. A bit of an adrenaline junkie, she indulges in anything that reaches high speeds or gets her blood pumping. She has a passion for photography and art, often being seen behind the lens of her camera. Sage loves to run and is a parkour enthusiast as well as a yoga nut. Furthermore, her frequent insomnia pushes her to trying new things in order to occupy her mind.

Sage has recently been in Egypt, researching a small sect of an ancient civilization when the ground gave out beneath her and she fell some 100 ft. While relatively unharmed she ended up breaking two of her ribs and needed to take a few weeks off to recover. She received an invitation to restore and oversee an exhibit that was opening at the Museum of Natural History in Evermore, Colorado.

Upon her arrival Sage was walking through the terminals when a burning sensation started in her left wrist. It wasn’t incredibly painful but it was noticeable and when it eased there was tattoo there of a sun and moon with the moon shaded in. For a week after her body itched and she felt strange, like something was moving beneath her skin. Dreams invaded her sleep, visions of people she had never met before though one or two of her brother and Aunt creeped in. Confused but reserved Sage went about her business of getting settled into the city and what would be her home for the undetermined future.

Sage had been in Evermore for about two weeks when the comet came overhead, a heat suffusing her body along with a barely manageable pain. She shifted that night for the first time only able to shift back the next morning feeling thoroughly confused and scared. Now she plans on finding someone who has some answers and to find out what she is.
