The Rivera family were a pure blood family of Initia’s. So it was no surprise when Simon and Sky were born that their lives would already be written out for them. Born on July 14, 1984 Simon was the first born child, and he was known to be the golden child in his mother’s eyes. However each of the family members loved him in their own way and he returned the love back to them in his very own way; it was from a young age that Simon seemed to have a mixed feeling about his species, and also showed hardly any interest in the wealth their family had. It was from a young age that his family began to teach him about the Initia’s, what their elements are and what they could do.
They even began to teach him how to defend himself and make sure that he would be able to handle himself, when he set out into the world on his own. This was something which Simon knew could come in very handy; but his parents also didn’t want him to be brainwashed into believing that the whole world was nothing but danger, they wanted him to know that there were both good and evil in the world. So it seemed only fair that they allowed him to experience that himself, and let him make his own choices. However all he could do is prepare himself for the different things that he would see as he grew up and also the different things that would creep into his life.
It wasn’t that long after that Simon was able to see both good and evil at work; however he never allowed this to affect who he was, he was a kind hearted, loyal person who stuck by his family, and of course he stuck by his twin sister who was 5 minutes younger than him. Even if they did like different things, they always stuck by one another from the moment they were born. However where Sky learned to accept both sides, Simon at first was the complete opposite that was until he learned that there would always be good and evil in the world. This was something which was not too surprising to his family; that Simon didn’t approve of the evil at first but then grew into accepting the both sides, it only shown that he was willing to give things a try and willing to take risks in his life.
They also allowed him to go out into the world and do his own thing and never let anything hold him back. This was choice both his parents had made when he and his sister were just little babies, since they didn’t want him to be hidden away afraid to leave the house fearing that he may lose his life. They were also proud to see that he had made the choice which suited him and how he felt. He also never allowed his choice to affect his life or his education as he grew up, which was also something which made him very happy. That his parents didn’t over protect him and wrap him up as if he was something that was easily broken.
They let him explore the world and live his life as he pleased; as long as he knew that he couldn’t tell people about their family being supernatural, and that he attended school like a normal child. Which he was more than happy to do since he wanted to prepare himself for the future. He even managed to make friends along the way but one thing that he never that never left his sight was his sister. Sky was someone Simon was very close to even in school; they would be placed in the same classes and near enough do everything together, that was until they found something else which seemed to catch their eyes. Simon soon became attached to sports, playing football and baseball, he soon became apart of the sports team at school.
But no matter even if he and his sister were doing their own thing, they would always be there to support each other through any game or performance they were doing. Which at first a cross a little weird to the students; but the pair just didn’t care or give a single bother on what the students thought about them, they were twins so it was obvious that they would close to one another even if they weren’t identical. They still were able to feel what the other was feeling, and tell if there was something going on with one another. It didn’t bother them being close to one another; nor did it bother them when they had to stay apart, because they always knew that they would see each other again in the long run. This was something that they grew up with living in a close family who respected one another, and were always there to back each other up no matter what.
But they also knew that with that in mind they weren’t perfect, in fact they were far from perfect they did make mistakes and they did manage to always make up for it. So it didn’t really bother them having to adjust to life as they lived in Australia. However, it was only when Simon turned 14 that his parents began to notice a number of changes within him and his sister, which for them was something they both were unsure of if it would be a good thing or a bad thing. So after discussing on the matter Garrison and Narissa decided it would be best for the family to leave their Australian home, and move to Evermore City, Colorado. But Simon at first wasn’t pleased that he was being forced to leave his friends, and his life here in Australia and he didn’t want to just up and leave because his parents thought it would be best.
However, none like his sister who lashed out and ran away from the house, Simon listened to what his parents were saying about seeing their grandparents. He agreed to move without a single problem even though he would have to make new friends and start his life over again. Simon was more understanding, and understood that his parents were only thinking of them and their safety. Plus he also knew that he would be able to meet some of the other supernatural species, and that was something Simon was looking forward to quite a good bit. But he could also see where his sister was coming from; it would be hard to adjust especially after living in Australia most of their lives, and now they would have to give it all up just so they could live among more of their own species and others.
However it was only after a few days of agreeing the whole family would be moving. The Rivera family packed up their belongings and left Australia; traveling that many thousands of miles to America, the family were in no rush to go to Evermore City so they decided to take a little road trip. Traveling around America Simon and his sister got to see that America had a lot to offer; they have celebrations here which they didn’t have in Australia, they had many other cool things where which could soon turn into something they enjoyed. America had already seemed to stun with all the beautiful things here and all the amazing places, and it was after about 3 months of traveling around America that the family agreed it was time to go and see their new home. It was only a few days later that they finally arrived in Evermore City, and drove into the Initia Community and seen their new home.
Which Simon was as a little iffy at first about his new home but soon enough settled in, and right away made friends with a few of the local Initia’s who also ended up helping him settle into his new school to. This was where Simon soon began to take a strong interest in the sports team there, and soon enough he tried out for both the football and baseball team there. Which thankfully he was accepted easy enough and he settled in even more to his new school, and it was about a year after that Simon soon became the captain however he wasn’t like the normal football Captains. Who wanted all the best looking girls on his arm; in fact he was the complete opposite he just wanted to focus on his sports as well as his education, so it was no surprise that his parents hardly seen a girl attached to his arm.
However when he turned 17 years old that was when his whole life soon began to change, he started to notice serious changes within him and his sister. His needs and wants were changing and he was growing more and more interested in the elements of the Initia, however he never did show his sister that he was feeling bothered by the changes. As he didn’t want her to worry too much since she couldn’t handle it too much or the feelings of the species, because he knew that she didn’t want to become some kind of Initia monster. Which of course Simon did laugh at first but soon enough being a brother, Simon put his own feelings of the changes last and helped his little sister through her hard time.
Reassuring her that everything would be okay and that they would be going through the change at the same time, and together nothing was going to stop them from being there for each other. And thankfully he was right. It was only as the year went on and they grew closer to graduation and their 18th birthday, the pair soon began to worry even more and that was when Simon's feelings finally shown. As Simon knew that he didn’t want their elements to just randomly spark while they were in the middle of their graduation from Evermore High School. But sadly this was something that he knew he wouldn’t have a single piece of control over and neither would his sister.
It was July 14 both their birthday and the day of their graduation, and it all just happened to fall on that one day the pair didn’t want it to. Simon watched as his sister threw her cap up into their with the rest of the year, when her hands went on fire her element had sparked before his. So he rushed after his little sister and protected her; thankfully the school believed that the little accident was some kind of prank, and thankfully they had managed to forget about it within the matter of minutes. However it was later that very same day while getting ready to go out for a family meal, that Simon’s element finally sparked the flames covering his hands like some mutant out of x-men.
Of course already remembering his sisters flames Simon quickly got his under control, and he went downstairs and told his family about him having the fire element. It was clear that the twins were not going to change, they both had the same birthday and now the same element and they also both had a bad first experience with fire. However it was only with the help of the Initia Community and of course their family and grandparents, they were able to settle into their element and soon began college like normal people again.
Where his sister Paige had already picked out what future she wanted to live. Simon was unsure of what he wanted; but he soon made his choice up to go into the law section as well as being a personal trainer, of course that would keep him busy but he enjoyed being able to do things he liked. It was then the pair soon left their family home and moved out into the world, and got their own places however the pair remained close. Attending college together but obviously doing different things with their lives; they still were able to enjoy being together and helping each other study, being twins like they were was easy and nothing was going to take that bond away. However their happiness living out on their own and in college was soon turned upside down, when the massacre began to rip through Evermore City like lot of knives. Claiming the lives of many including their parents who had gave their lives to protect them, Garrison and Narissa both died on the scene.
Which only turned Simon’s college dreams with his sister upside down; he dropped out and soon took over the family business even though he didn’t really know all that much about it, while his sister had decided to take a year out from college and then return when she was feeling happier. But thankfully he was able to run both the family business and then return to college as well. It had now been a year since the death of his parents, and all he was looking forward to was getting his life back on track and doing something which would be a benefit to the city. He’s now started college once again while he runs the family business.
