Family: None.
Born on the 17th December 1994 at the stroke of midnight, Tristan James grew up into a fairly wealthy pureblood Nephilim family in the city of New York on the suburbs. Being the second eldest child, Tristan grew up with his older sister as well as his younger twin siblings, spending his time as any other usual child would. He would attend school from Monday to Friday and during his spare time, Tristan would either be found with his friends in the nearby parks or he would be found playing with his two younger twin brothers and keeping himself occupied.
From the age Tristan could talk and read, he learnt all about his family history and the history behind the Nephilims, from how they came to be in the first place and everything that had happened to the Nephilim species since then. He found it all fascinating, about how everything around them came to be and how he came to be from a line of Nephilims that dated back hundreds of years. Soon after Tristan had learned as much as he could about the Nephilim, he moved onto other species, researching and researching what they were also like and how they came to be in the world he knew today.
Also from a young age after Tristan was able to walk and run without any help from his parents, was when Tristan first started learning how to defend himself from any threats that he would face in the future. He started out easy before moving onto harder training exercises; taking up martial arts and karate to keep his strength up as well as running track at school to keep him fit and healthy. His father’s words always stuck with him whenever he was training, echoing through his mind on repeat as he trained and got stronger for whenever he would need it, knowing there could possibly be an enemy around every corner he turned.
When Tristan first started middle school, he was full of excitement at the fact that he could meet new people and learn more than he already did. Before he left for his first day of school, he got the lecture from his worried parents about how he shouldn’t tell anyone about himself being a Nephilim or even mentioning anything of the other species. When Tristan said he wouldn’t mention a thing about anything to do with being a Nephilim or anything Supernatural, his parents knew he was telling the truth and that they had nothing to worry about. He always had that nature around him, being a truthful person.
During Tristan’s time at school, he found a hobby in the three sciences, chemistry, biology and physics. It was one of the lessons he most enjoyed alongside gym class and english, still enjoying every other lesson he had but preferring those lessons the most. He had a general interest in it and it inspired him on what he would want to do when he was older which to him would be something like a Forensic Scientist or anything in general that involved him doing science and what he loved to do. Whenever he had time to spare, Tristan would always read ahead in the books they were learning from, taking in the knowledge from the book and learning about it more and more.
It was when Tristan was the age of thirteen before anything bad happened in his life. Sure he had those moments where he would break an arm or would have a fight but he would always heal from any physical injuries, though this accident was something that would change his life forever and would wound him permanently. It started out as any other usual day, going to school, meeting his friends and going through his lessons. It was his last lesson of the day when the news reached him. The news that his father, the person who encouraged and believed in him, was dying and wouldn’t have long to live. Just by hearing those words, sent Tristan into a state of shock and worry. Worry for his father, the man who helped him become the strong person he was. But now he was also the person who made him weak.
He had rushed to the hospital, to the room where his father was about to take his last breath, reaching him just in time for his father to tell Tristan that he will always believe in him, no matter what happened. This all left Tristan emotionally unstable. He acted normal in front of everyone else but when he was alone, it was as if he went back to the little boy who didn’t know what to do in life. It took a lot of time till Tristan was capable of moving on from the emotional and terrible disaster that happened. But he would always remember that his father died a hero; dying for an unknown pregnant woman who was only just starting to begin her life and Tristan knew he would always remember his father’s last words to him. That he would always believe in what Tristan did, no matter what happened.
After the incident, at first Tristan’s grades dropped from being so distracted and caught up in his own world. He had the right to mourn the loss of his father and he knew he would have to get over it, though he would always remember who his father was. Catching up, Tristan regained his spot at the top of the class and got his grades back up, knowing it would be what his father wanted him to do. For him to do his best and achieve everything Tristan ever wanted, getting the best grades he could before going off to college and completing his dreams in doing something related to Science. He focused his life on that and he was glad he did with the outcome he achieved.
Achieving the best grades Tristan ever got on a exam at the end of his high school life, he soon moved onto college where he took up majors in forensic science as well as chemistry and physics, set on becoming a forensic scientist as soon as he was finished with his schooling. Beginning at Columbia University in New York, Tristan started out perfectly fine, doing as he did when he was in high school. He excelled and kept up with every lesson he took, taking his time to read and study everything he needed to know for the syllabus they were doing.
A year after starting at Columbia University, Tristan decided he wanted a change from the usual sight of New York City and what they had to offer, instead he wanted a smaller city where he could settle down and live his life how he wanted to. Although he had that all in New York, his home held too many memories and feeling like a change, Tristan decided to pack up his things and transfer to Colorado College where he would resume his majors in forensic science, chemistry and physics. He’d heard about a city within Colorado named Evermore. He’d heard rumours about the supernatural living amongst each other with the humans and being curious about it being true or not, Tristan decided to use the money he had earned and collected to buy a reasonable sized apartment he could live in when he wasn’t away at college within Evermore City.
Having moved and started out his new life in Evermore City, Tristan kept to his schooling and applied for a part time job as the forensic scientist at the Evermore City Police Department, where he would work anytime when he finished college early or at the weekends when he had nothing else to do. Tristan had been living there for just over a year when he’d heard about the comet passing over the city. He could remember reading about the comet when he was younger before he officially started his training.
After the comet had passed over head, all Tristan could remember was looking out of his window as the comet flew over before he passed out, unaware of what happened to him. When he next woke, he felt more different than he ever had though he didn’t know what it was. The next few days, the feeling never left him in what had changed about him until he suddenly felt the pain and agony that spread through his back from the two thick scars that lay upon his back. The next thing he knew, a pair of white wings were unfolding from his back as relief filled his body from not having to bear the pain he had been through as he discovered what had changed about him as well as every other Nephilim in the city.
