BIOGRAPHY

A man who lost everything and everyone he loved on one dreadful, fateful day.

Vincent Blackwell, was a Land Surveyor prior to his death. This change in lifestyle that suddenly grasped him. Not that he mourned being murdered. However, he did mourn the result of being alive. At least at first.

Strolling through his usual hiking trail, Venny was trying to get some exercise in after his surgery. Normally he'd go on this adventure with his dog, Pinny. However, with it being late, and the kids soon leaving for their summer trip to their grandparents, they wanted to spend as much time with the dog before they'd be on their way to Florida. Owls hooed, and crickets sang in the quiet night. It wasn't too cold or hot truth be told, it was fairly comfortable. Venny was heading down the side of the small mountain back to his neighborhood at the base. That's when a hooded figure stepped out onto the path. With his walking stick in his left hand, Venny huffed, and looked down at the person. "Can I help you?" The person didn't speak. This unsettled, Venny. While the man stands 6'10, he's not in the mood or physique to get into trouble. Two pale hands glinted in the moonlight as they gripped the hood and pulled it back. Revealing a stunning woman with blue eyes and platinum blonde hair.

"Remier- this is him." A towering figure stepped from behind a tree and Venny's heart sank. "Listen, I don't know what you want or how you know me, but I don't want any problems." The woman giggled and covered her mouth.

"Venny, the last thing I want, is a problem with you. You're going to be my prized possession. Tall, strong, intelligent, you're a walking force of power and you don't even utilize it. I've been watching you for a very long time Venny. And the longer I've watched you, the more I've wanted you. And you will- give me what I want."

Venny stepped back with hesitance. "What do you mean you've been watching me?" The man beside her chuckled deeply.

"Your wife is such a pretty little thing isn't she? What- a strawberry redhead yes? Two beautiful little children. Your puppy...." The woman continued on. He has to call the police, but there's little to no service, and what if they have weapons? "It would be ashame if something happened to then."

"You touch my family, and I'll make sure you regret it within every inch of your last breath." The woman smiled large, flashing fangs at him. What is this, some Halloween gimic? People going through the woods trying to stir up problems?

"I'd love to see the revenge you have in mind for me Vincent." Before he knew it the man ran up to him like a flashing shadow and punched him in his jaw. While Venny was tall, and strong, this man hit him with a force he'd never recieved in his life. He tumbled to the ground and his vision blurred. He couldn't get up fast even if he wanted to given his left knee procedure. Groaning, and coughing, he tried to sit up.

The woman sat on his chest, straddling him with her hands on his shoulders. "Such a handsome addition you'll make to my clan." She grabbed his neck and started choking him. He attempted to push her off of him but she wouldn't budge; not even an inch. Without a chance to comprehend any of this strange encounter, he felt a piercing sharp in at the base of his neck. Was she biting him?! He gripped her shoulders and dug into her flesh with his nails. As he felt some relief come along, the man walked up and struck his wounded knee. The pain was enough to make Venny suddenly nauseous. His veins were on fire, his body was on fire, and his ears started ringing.

Suddenly he could move freely and breathe. He turned onto his side and crawled to a nearby tree to help pull himself from the ground. All he felt was something warm coursing down his neck. He stood and saw a pillar of smoke and red in the sky coming from the base of the mountain. "Stay out of the sun. It'll drain you. If you survive- I'm sure we'll meet again; in Eternal City." And like that, the pair disappeared into the night. Venny grabbed his stick and stumbled down the long windy path. Staring up at the flickering lights. Hoping, praying that this isn't what he fears it to be. Praying and hoping that if anything, his family is okay.

He finally made it to the pavement and quickened pace home. He needed to see his family. But what he saw next would be the last nail in his coffin.

August, 5th, 2009, 8:47pm, Venny's life went up in flames. Quite literally. Standing on the pavement as firefighters tried to fight the flames engulfing his home. Venny could only watch helplessly. Tears swelled in his eyes as it sunk in, burning into his soul, seering itself into my memory. His wife, his son, his daughter, their home...everything. Hours passed, and as daylight rose, body bags were carried out. The man fell to his knees in despair, heaving and unable to breathe. As his family was hauled off to the morgue, his world spun, his heart pounding in his ears, he passed out.

The next time he opened his eyes, he was in the hospital. Informed that his family succumed to smoke inhalation. And that his home will be deemed unlivable. He lied there in silence with nothing to show of his emotion save for the tears seeping from his eyes and down his cheeks. That's when he remembered them. The two. He reported the individuals to the police as potential arsonists. But he had no idea who would want to hurt him or his family.

With the ongoing time, Venny found himself feeling drained in the sun. Sleeping for most of the days. After his first month in recovery, he decided to look into Eternal City. A place he couldn't find on any map. How is that possible? He put out a blog on Reddit about it hoping maybe someone would know something. After a time of silence an anonymous account gave him coordinates via inbox for Eternal City. Venny packed his bags and journeyed to this foggy yet lively city. It's huge, and he has no idea how it was unmarked. However, the trail there did take months for him to find. He found a building named 'Resources for New Residents.' Inside a woman named Martha assisted him in obtaining low cost living, and a base paying job as a Library assistant. She handed him a thick yellow envelope and sent him on his way.

Sitting on the side of his new bed, it was starting to sink in. Why he's here, and all that has happened. He's here to find those responsible for killing his family- meanwhile, he has no idea what this place represents. Opening the envelope, the welcome letter title read 'Welcome Valkyr." His brows furrowed and he read throughout all the information given to him. Is thise real or some lucid dream? This was how he found out- that he'd died.
