To be born into a relatively normal, but also incredibly happy supernatural family was something to behold; after a long time of trying to conceive, Maximillian and Louise Scott finally welcomed their first born into the world. The Scott family were very low key, they much preferred to keep to themselves than dive into any political drama - in fact, they found it easier that way and thus, chose to live in a human and very mundane society. It was strange for both parents who were both brought up in a very traditional Nephilim community to choose this for their own family, but they believed it would be safer than the threat that a Nephilim community could bring. After all, three Nephilim would barely attract any dark magic or species compared to a whole town populated by their kind. Of course, the rest of their family were not pleased that at their decision, and despite loving the pair very much - the family decided to cut all ties with them; partly out of spite, but also for the protection of the newborn babe.

The moment that Zachary Scott opened his eyes, he was shown nothing but love from those who surrounded him; Louise in all her best efforts to try and find work after his birth eventually gave up and decided to become a stay at home Mother, which Max was supportive of; he understood just how important family was to his wife, and how hard they tried to conceive. For a very long time, it was just Zach and his Mother at home especially when Max was at work, thus the two became inseparable - where there was one, the other was bound to be around. They were best friends, and when the day came when Zach needed to attend school, he found it incredibly difficult; hours without his Mother being by his side was nothing but torturous for the both of them. However, with the encouragement of his Father, he went along to school surprisingly happy after being told of the concept of making more friends than just those who lived on his road.

Zach excelled in school, his grades were always above average for his age group which gave his family even more reason to dote on his every move yet that soon changed when Louise announced that she was pregnant once again and that Zachary would be an older brother. It was a strange concept for the young Nephilim, he was so used to his Mother’s attention, that he didn’t know what to do with himself besides study away in his room. It was during this period of uncertainty when Zach ached the age of eight that he found a mark appear upon his flesh; at first he freaked out and a loud bellowing scream rumbled through the house. It was a relief to his parents to find that the scream was nothing life threatening, but a time for celebration; Zachary had finally earned his Nephilim Rune.

Of course, neither parent understood what the mark meant but informed Zach that it would be his mark if he ever lost direction in life; it would be there as a guide for him if they were not around. It was important, they stressed, that he did not show the mark off to other children at school as it was so oddly shaped that he could not pull it off as a birthmark. Zach found his new mark to be the best thing, and it soon comforted him when his baby brother, Noah was born. Their family was now complete, and not once had they run into trouble in the community, who were, in fact incredibly supportive of the growing family; however, neither Louise or Max were aware that their secret had escaped - the community knew that they were not human. Therefore, when Zach came to his parents flustered and traumatised by the sight of a black hooded man in the garden, they quickly dismissed it to his over imagination and that he had been reading too much into the world of crime; after all, their community was safe - ever since they moved to the town over ten years ago, not one ounce of crime had happened near them.

Yet, Zach continued to see this figure over the course of 12-months and each time his parents found a new excuse; their favourite being it happened in his dreams. This of course frustrated Zach because he knew what he was seeing and it terrified him but there was very little he could do; as it seemed the figure would only appear when he was alone at the back of the house and never when his parents were around him. It took an additional month for the hooded figure to make his move; at the age of 10 years old, Zachary was awoken by his Mother screaming, and quickly grabbed his younger brother in his arms to see why. The young Nephilim watched in horror as the exact hooded figure loomed over his Mother with a butchers knife which repeatedly wounded his Mother. There was not much he could do before Noah awoke with many grumbles, and with that, he had no choice but to run away; run from the man who haunted him for days on end. He had to leave his Mother.

The two boys ran deep into the woods to a small man-made den which they were always told to go to if anything went wrong and if they had nowhere else to go. He had no idea how long he waited there with his brother until their Father appeared; he could read his Father’s expression like a book and silently obeyed every order which was given, and the family of three moved silently through the night until they came across a City named Evermore. It was once they were settled there, that Max began to explain to his boys what had occurred that evening; he knew they were young, but they had every right to know. The community which they had lived in had discovered that they were Nephilim and unbeknown to them, the community was very anti-supernatural and had trained many young men into becoming hunters. Thus, the man that Zach had seen for over a year was a hunter in training, watching the Scott family to gather information on their routines and the best time to strike; which consequently was at night, when Max was away on business.

Max apologised wholeheartedly to Zach for not believing him about the hooded man and promised him that things would get better in Evermore; a city where supernatural and humans lived amongst each other happily. It took many years for the family to overcome the death of Louise, but they did so together - both Noah and Zach continued throughout school and achieved wonderful marks which gained them access to excellent Universities; Zach himself decided to remain in Evermore, he was concerned for the health of his Father if he lost yet another family member. Throughout the years, Zach remembered what his Mother told him about his mark; how it was his calling and his guide in life if he was ever lost - and lost he was. Being part of the faction, he soon sought out the longer standing members of his new found community, and hoped that they would be able to help him.

The Nephilim Faction unfortunately could not give him much detail to his mark, other than it was the Angelic Rune of Protection, and how each mark is down to the individual to interpret. Zach needed more information but was thankful for what they had managed to locate for him; the mark itself confused him, solely due to the fact that he was unable to protect his Mother from the human community all those years ago - but it was his Father who offered another opinion. Zachary had indeed protected his baby brother Noah that evening, so he did fulfil his duty. It was a hard pill to swallow, but he finally accepted that it was not possible to save or protect everyone, but he would try to; thus, Zach went back to school to become a Social Worker, to protect those who are in constant threat of what lurks in the shadows.
