Holiday shopping wasn’t exactly something Sirius looked forward to at the end of every year. He refused to do so anytime before the month of December began, as he was one of those people who rolled his eyes at Christmas decorations in November. Still, when he found out about the Christmas market happening in the city center’s park, the Greek Celestial he might as well save time and energy now rather than go out later, when the prices were so obviously hiked up for the season. Spending money excessively was the only thing he hated more than Christmas in November.

The Christmas market was as festive as one could imagine. The snowfall from the night before set the perfect cinematic ambience, combined with the many stalls that lined the pavement. The smell of roasted chestnuts, cinnamon, and peppermint floated through the air, mixed with the undertones of pine. The sounds of chatter didn’t drown out the Christmas carollers, who stood in their little spot in the market, decked in the attire appropriate to the season. In the distance, he could spot an ice rink, filled with all sorts of people. If Arte was here with him at that moment, Sirius probably would have remarked that the place looked as if Santa had puked everywhere.

Empty shopping bags were slung on his arm as his boots sank into the snow, mittened hands tucked into the warm pockets of his black pea coat. Amber hues flickered from one stall to the next, looking at the items for sale and deciding whether or not he’d really need them. Along that leisurely stroll, his gaze then rested on a familiar figure--an Initia woman he’d recently come to discover was also in Evermore. A smirk began to toy at corners of his thin lips as he quickened his pace, quickly coming within earshot of his new-ish acquaintance.

“Charlie!” he would call out brightly, and once he’d gotten her attention, his smirk would spread into a wide grin as he reached her. “Well, I certainly didn’t have you pegged for the festive type,” he would tease lightly, a mischievous glint sparkling in his narrowed hues. "How's it going?"

The corners of his eyes crinkles as he grinned, booted feet crunching against the blanket of snow strewn across the park as he quickly made his way over to the Initia woman. He raises his eyebrows at her statement, a low chuckle sounding from him. "Well, I'm actually not a Christmas market kinda guy, so you'd be right," he admitted, his lips twisting into his signature sly smirk. "I just figured I might as well get everything over and done with, you know?" A cool shrug then rolled from his shoulder, his amber hues sparkling in the midday winter sun's light. "Before things get too ridiculously expensive, as it does every middle of December." He took in a deep, chilly breath through his parted lips, and raised an eyebrow in question as he tucked his gloved hands into the pockets of his coat. "How about you? What brings you here?"

When Charlie said she meant to call him, he could feel his thick eyebrows push together, creasing forming across his brow as his head subconsciously tilted his head to a side. "Oh? Whatever for?" he questioned, Greek undertones lacing his accented words. At her response, understanding sparkled in his hues, his features relaxing as a warm smile pulled upon his lips. "I'm glad I could help with that situation," Sirius responded, nodding his head once as he spoke. "I take it your testing went rather well, in that case?" His curiosity had the better of him there, as the Celestial was rather curious if the drug in question did in fact have different effects on the various species of the supernatural. He hoped that she'd keep him in the loop about her findings, but he wasn't exactly the type to push for information if he sensed the other party wasn't so inclined to share.

At her apology, the smile that had formed on Sirius's face moulded back into his signature smirk, his gaze falling to rest on the tops of his leather boots before meeting the pale gaze of the Initia's through his dark lashes. "Aye, you did come in all heated up, didn't you?" he teased, his hues shimmering with a mischievous glint. He then gave an airy wave of his hand, and a shake of his head. "It's water under the bridge, love, so try not to overthink that. We're all good," he assured, through his tone was laced with some humour. He wasn't the type to hold a grudge, especially the Kinzle sisters. There was probably nothing either of them could do that would warrant his ill-feelings, and he wished that they were aware of that as they were back in the 90's.

"So," he'd say, narrowing his eyes as he looked away from the Initia and scanned their surroundings. "Are you looking for anything in particular? Or just a good 'Christmassy' time?" Siri asked, his hues then resting on the cup clasped in her heads. An inhale brought the comforting, chocolatey aroma to his senses, the male letting his hues fluttered to a close for a moment. "That actually smells amazing, I might just get one for myself," he decided, starting to move towards the back of the line. "If you're not in any sort of rush anywhere, join me?" He hoped that Charlie would say yes, mostly for selfish reasons. He'd heard from the other Celestials that the memories of others from their past came back over time. He only hoped that by spending enough with Charlie, she'd remember. There were still some yearning from his side, as if they were a chapter that was never closed, and would never be closed until she'd remembered him. However, Siri was a patient man, and he would wait patiently until Charlie came up to him, saying that she remembered. "Oh, how is Laine doing?" he's asked with another raise of his eyebrow, turning his head to have a better look at the brunette.

Sirius nodded as she spoke, pressing his lips together in a thin smile. "Oh no, it's not silly at all,"  he quickly assured her, his amber hues crinkling slightly as the corners of his lips twitched. "Everyone has their little traditions." He let a shrug roll through his shoulders, a carefree demeanour washing over his lean frame. "Traditions can be comforting, so who really gives a shit why we do them." His smile moulded into his signature smirk, eyebrow rising teasingly before a chuckle parted his lips, eyes looking over the snow at his boots before meeting the Initia's gaze once more.

Upon her statements about the drug and testing, Sirius remained quiet, absorbing every word and taking it into memory. His brow creased slightly in concentration, the glimmer in his narrowed hues a clear sign to Charlie that the Celestial had his full attention. "Well, if anyone can figure out that drug, I'd put my bet on you," he commented once she'd finished, flashing her an impish grin. He tilted his head to a side then, noting the slight change in her posture. Something about the look in her eyes hinted that work wasn't something she wanted to talk about---from what Laine had told him, Charlie was quite the workaholic. It'd make sense that she'd want a little escape from all that, and what was better than a Christmas market to whisk you away to another world? Unless one was a certain smuggling Celestial, that is.

His eyes lit up with glee when Charlie said she'd accompany, but he hid bu bring a hand up to tousle his moussey-brown waves. Once they'd stood in line, he raised an eyebrow at her query, following her gaze to realise it rested on the bag in his hands. He smiled then, shaking his head. "No one special," he admitted, "just gifts for close friends, decorations for the nightclub, snacks for home..." he trailed off as he took a step forwards in the line. "Holiday cheer isn't really my jam, but people love events at the club, especially when the correspond with celebratory dates." Another shrug rolled off his shoulders. "Whatever pays the bills, y'know?"

Sirius wasn't surprised at how Charlie spoke of her sister--he knew she was the type to want to steer Laine on track, and he was also aware of Laine's attitude. However, as those qualities were things he wanted in his staff at The Siren's Cove, he was more than happy to take on the younger Kinzle. "It's my pleasure," he said with a soft nod of his head. "Like i said before, I like my staff being able to stand up for themselves and not take any bullshit---it makes it easier for the bouncers to spot and take the sleezebags out of my establishment." He took another step forward, an easy-going smile forming upon his thin lips. "She's fitting in rather well, from what I've seen and heard."

"Oh," he sounded, his brows pushing together when she asked about his work. Sirius didn't really want to put Charlie in a position where she felt she was going against her own morals by knowing more about his dealings. "Work is...good," was all he'd offer, knowing that details may not be too pleasant to the ears of someone working with the ECPD. "We'll be having a New Year's Eve party though, and the end of the month," he quickly added, wanting to keep the conversation going. "Between us, i've invited Laine to come as my guest--mostly because she'd not ready to hand an event as crazy at NYE," he admitted to Charile, "but you should definitely come with her! It'll be plenty fun."

At last, they reached the end of the line, Sirius getting a cup of hot chocolate for himself. Stepping away from the counter, he inhaled deeply, the smoothing aroma of the chocolate washing over his senses. He look a sip, his eyes fluttering to a close as his features gave away his pleasant reaction towards the drink. "That's even more delicious that it smells," he commented before taking another long sip of the creamy beverage. His brow then creased some, his hues dancing over their surroundings before meeting the Initia's gaze once more. "Do you have a list or anything of what you want to do here?"  he asked as they walked past a booth with numerous festive hats. Those caught the eye of his female companion, as she then put on a Santa hat upon her head. The sight combined with her words brought forth a chuckle from the Celestial. He wished he could hold her like he used to all those years back, but all he did now was shake his head slightly. "Almost, but your outfit ruins the whole vibe," Sirius teased, taking another sip of his hot chocolate. At her exclamation, he followed her gaze, an audible grown sounding from him when his amber hues rested on the pair of antlers. "Really?" he uttered, shaking his head as an expression of mock-dread washed over his angular features. With a defeated shake of his head, he set down his cup and put on the headband, raising an eyebrow in question. "What do you think?" he asked, angling his head from side to side for Charlie to get a good look. His eyes squinted some as his gaze scanned over what else the booth had for sale. "I think it's missing... There we go!" he announced, reaching for a red round nose and putting it on himself. He then turned to Charlie once more, grinning impish down at her. "Good luck trying to get this off me now," he announced, reaching for his wallet to pay for his. "Do you want that hat?"  he asked, his vision still focussed on pulling out the right amount of cash.

An impish grin spread from ear to ear on the Celestial's face when Charlie said that she would attend the New Year's Eve party at the club. He frankly enjoyed spending time with her, and he hoped with every passing moment that she'd look at him different, maybe remembering the time they spent together. The more time he was around her, the more likely he figured something would be triggered. "Great!" he responded, wetting his lips with a drag of his tongue before continuing, "I look forward to seeing you there." He then took another sip of his chocolate, his grin moulding into a coy smirk at her response, laughing some at the list she pulled out. "Let's get them done, in that case," he mused as he walked, amusement still glinting in his amber hues.

"Reindeer-ish?" he repeated, raising an eyebrow at her as he narrowed his eyes, an alluring glint in his optics as the corners of his lips twitched. "A+ on creativity, love," Sirius teased, shaking his head as he attached the red nose. Waggling his eyebrows, a small laugh escaped his lips as he reached for his wallet. "Thanks, that's exactly what I was going for," he commented, before arching an eyebrow at her question. A part of him wanted to chuckle and tease her snort, but not yet--this was just their "second" time meeting. "Why wouldn't I wear it around?" he asked. "'Tis the season and all that jazz." Another chuckle sounded from him at his compliment, the male looking up at her briefly as he pulled out the money from his wallet. "Why thank you," he said with a wink, paying for both his and her things and thanking the boot-owner. He then took his hot chocolate once more in the gentle grasp of his hand, and brought it to his lips for another long, creamy sip. Sirius then looked over at Charlie at her statement, smirking as he realised her tone left no room for argument. "That's fine with me," he agreed.

When he finally turned from the cashier, the first thing he noticed was the ice rink. The Greek man glanced towards Charlie, noticing how she seemed enticed by what lay before her. A thought flashed in his mind as he directed his line of vision forwards once more, eyes narrowing and lip pursing as he started to form a plan in his mind. Personally, seeing all those children out on the ice didn't really make him want to skate--to him, they were a safety hazard, and accident waiting to happen. But he saw how Charlie seemed more and more tempted to get on the ice, his smirk growing as he walked to her side. "Yes," he answered her query, looking from her to the ice rink, memories flashing through his mind from his travels with his fellow Celestials. "I've gone skating a few times over the years. It's actually quite fun," he commented after a moment, a small smile curling upon his lips as he looked back at her. "Have you?" he asked, turning the question back on her, an eyebrow rising in question.

He tilted his head towards the ice rink in a small nod, mentioning wordlessly for the Initia to accompany him. He steered them towards the skate-rental booth, thankful that there wasn't much of a line. "We might as well go for a spin, for the stake of the holiday spirit and all," Siri suggested, his tone convincing. "It'll be plenty fun, even with slightly crowd." The two reached the front of the line just then, and he didn't give the Initia a chance to protest as he propped his elbows upon the counter, requesting a pair of skates in his size. Amber hues darted back towards the woman, his smile turning sly. "What's your shoe size?" he asked, nodding towards the waiting attendant.

"You nervous?" he'd ask once the attendant had turn to get their skates, bringing up the hot chocolate to his lips to take a long draught, awaiting the Initia's response. His brow creased slightly as he looked towards the ice once more. "Well, we'll stay on the outer part of the rink for now--the more experienced skaters usually take the middle." The attendant then returned with their skates, and with a word of thanks and paying the deposit, Sirius then made his way to a nearby bench to slip them on, gesturing for Charlie to follow suit. He swiftly removed his boots before finishing off his hot chocolate then tossing the paper cup into a nearby bin and passing his winter boots to the attendant. He then carefully made his way onto the ice, swivelling around to face Charlie. His smirk was back upon his lips as he extended his arm out to the Initia, excitement glinting in his vibrant hues. "C'mon, I won't let you fall," he assured her in a light, teasing tone.

A chuckle sounded from the Greek at her assumption, followed by the raise of an eyebrow. "As a matter of fact, Charlie, I'm actually a well travelled man. I also have a motto to try everything once," he informed her, "and ice skating is, admittedly, rather fun." A shrug rolled off his broad shoulders, a coy smile playing upon his lips as he looked down at her. "You'll find that I'm not just an open book," he teased, hoping that one day, she'd know exactly what he meant. When he asked her to skate with him, he couldn't conceal the impish grin that spread from ear to ear from his angular features at the obvious surprise on her face. "Yes, I'm Sirius," the Celestial couldn't help but tease with a mischievous glint in his bright eyes, "and I'm very serious about this. Come--it'll be fun!"

Once his skates were on, the man expertly slid unto the ice, turning gracefully to look at his companion. His hand extended, he hoped that the Initia would trust him enough to not let her fall--although falling was just half the fun of skating, in his opinion. A soft smile moulded upon his thin lips when her hand reached for his, Sirius holding her securely as she slid towards him. She's too tense, he thought to himself, amber hues narrowed. He knew she was about to fall before her legs gave out--it was common for new skaters, and in a flash he reached for her, catching her before she could catch the ice. Their bodies were pressed together, and the Celestial was reminded of the many times they were unabashedly this close all those years ago, and a smile almost spread across his lips. However, he caught himself then--Charlie had no recollection yet of what had happened, and he couldn't push his luck. His signature smirk was back upon his lips now, about to tease the woman about her clumsiness, when a jaded look glossed over her bright blue hues. His brow creased in worries, lips pressed into a thin line as he guided her back to balance unto her too feet, though he yearned to hold her lithe form close to his for a moment longer; to take in another deep inhale of her sweet scent. His fingers moved to clasp her shoulders, his eyes now wide as he leaned down towards her, his features conveying the extent of his concern. "Hey, Charlie?" he called softly, his tone anxious. "You all good there?"

It took her a moment to snap back to reality, to which he let out a sigh of relief. Her hat had fallen, and he quickly took the chance to bend down to pick up, recollecting his emotions and setting his features back into their teasing expression. Upon standing up to pass her the hat, Sirius let himself look rather amused. "Here ya go," he slurred, setting the santa hat back on top of her head, adjusting the white fluffy rim to sit just right. "Where did you go then?" he asked, raising an eyebrow in question. "You looked a thousand miles away then." At her mention of deja vu, he could feel his heart flutter in his chest. Was she finally remembering the past they shared together? Daring not to hope, the Celestial hid his excitement, and instead raised an eyebrow in question towards the woman. "Oh?" he sounded. "I thought that you've never skated before," he queried, gesturing with a tilt of his head towards the ice rink. He relaxed his features, letting a smile rest upon his lips as he extended both his hand, letting her fingers rest on the heels of his palm as he held her securely, but not too tight. "Tell me about what felt weird about it as we skate--it gets easier, I promise," he assured her, Sirius beginning to skate backwards as he guided her forwards.

"So," he started once more, eyes still set upon her vibrant blue gaze as he expertly guided her around the ring, "how come you've never skated before? Where are you from where there isn't an ice rink? Or just ice, for that matter?" he asked, although he already knew the answer. Hell, he was the one who brought them away from home in the first place by their request, but he couldn't just say he knew they were from the land down under. "Laine mentioned you both were from Australia, but I find it odd that there's no ice rinks around those parts." After a moment, he let go of just once hand, and move to skate by her side. One of his hands still kept a firm grip on her as he guided her towards the edge of the rink, just in case she lost balance. "You're not doing too bad, you know--for a first timer," Sirius teased, shooting her a cheeky grin.

A hint of worry still lingered in his vibrant blue hues as he looked down at the woman, his arms still holding her up to ensure she wouldn't fall. She assured him that she was fine, but something about the smile that started to form along her lips told him that she'd rather not talk about it. This made Sirius all the more curious, but he wasn't the type to push for answers when the other party wasn't ready to talk. He'd been like that when he'd smuggled the Kinzle's over to the Americas, when he'd overheard them say their real identities---he never confronted them about it. Everyone has their reasons, he'd commonly say, and here was no exception. So, he left it, focussing instead on getting the Initia woman around the rink.

He listened as she explained why she hadn't been ice skating before, the man nodding here and there to show his understanding. "Fair enough," he mused once she was done, steadying her as he released one hand. "I take it lakes or ponds never froze over where you're from?" Siri knew from his own experiences that the southern part of the continent did have their bodies of water freeze over, though it would make sense of Charlie was from up north based on her expressions. At her admission, a low, hearty chuckle rumbled through his chest, a sparkle in his hues as he found himself wanting to stare forever at the smile that formed upon her soft features, along with the need to never have it leave her face. "Well, of course---I'm an incredible teacher," he teased cockily, winking at her as a smirk pulled at the corners of her lips. "I have lightning fast reflexes, you see. There's no way you'd never fall with me around."

He could sense that Charlie wanted to try skating on her own, so slowly, he removed his hand, but kept it hovering nearby, just in case she felt unsteady. At her query, a nostalgic look washed over his face, a small smile moulding from the smirk as the memories fluttered through his mind. "Yes, I do remember," he admitted, his mind drifting further way, but still paying some attention to Charlie as they spoke. "See, I'm a Celestial, so I don't have any actual family. I quite literally fell out of the sky," he slurred in amusement. "There was one man who took me in---another Celestial. He was a seafarer, and he basically asked me to join him on his voyages once I'd gotten my strength back. Needless to say, I agreed. We travelled the wide world together, and that included the colder parts. He was the one who taught me to skate, so if you want an amusing picture, imagine two, six-foot tall men, holding on to dear life as they skid off-balance around a frozen pond." Another chuckle sounded from the Greek as he recollected himself, meeting her blue hues. "Nah, I didn't fall---I'm born to be a figure skater, see? I was a prodigy right from the start," he joked, his smirk turning to form upon his lips as his eyes narrowed slyly.

Another hearty laugh sounded from the man at Charlie's mention of Laine. He could definitely see that---Laine was quite out-there and did some pretty impulsive things, while Charlie was your typical 'stick-to-the-plan' kind of person. Both sisters were fun to be with in their own way, and Sirius always enjoyed spending time with them either on their own or together. "Maybe we should bring her along, before the lake thaws out," he suggested. "I think she'd rather enjoy that." Lost in thought for a moment about the two, he barely noticed Charlie push away to try skating on her own, only realising when she was quite past him. He saw her slip and fall, a laugh sounding from the man as he expertly skated over, whisking around to stand over her with an extend hand. "It happens," he consoled, an impish grin spreading fro ear to ear as he helped her up. "Something to remember: when you fall, always form a fist. Some nasty accidents can happens with your fingers when other skaters are around," he advised.

Once he steadied her, he guided her the same way as before: two hands holding her, then one hand, and then no hands, but hovering near her to make sure she didn't fall again. "See? You can already skate on your own," Sirius told her, gesturing to how she was moving now. "It's all in your head, so don't freak out or lean back." Once more--this time with his attention completely on her, he moved from instead skating backwards in front of her, but instead moved to her side, letting her be on the outer edge of the rink. "Just keep moving forward," he assured, "and don't think about it as walking." A smile etched upon his face as he watched as she slowly got the hang of it, but even more so at the fact that he knew that she was slowly letting go and stepping out of her comfort zone. It was something that was a regular occurrence for the two when Sirius brought her to the Americas, and it was nice to know that their dynamic didn't change, despite the amnesia.

"So," he started, deciding to ask a question that had been preying at his mind for years, "Laine never told me why you two left Australia. It sounds as if you and your dad were really close, but I know he's not in Evermore with you. Is there a reason you guys settled an ocean away from home?" He hoped he wasn't prying too hard, or approaching an uncomfortable topic for Charlie. Leaving home couldn't have been easy, but he'd always wondered why instead of getting a plane, the two chose to travel by boat. It was far slower and rather uncomfortable compared to flying. Sirius deduced that the only reason for them opting for a plane was to not be tracked by anyone---especially considering that back then, his boat was how he smuggled things, or people for this matter. "I apologise for prying---you don't have to answer if it's out of line and you don't want to," he quickly added. The last thing he wanted was for Charlie to close up to him.

A chuckle parted his lips at the Initia's remark on how he planned spending this day, and a smile toyed on his lips as his gaze lowered, and slowly he shook his head. "True, I did think that today was going to be a regular day in my books," he admitted, an amusing glint in his eyes as he looked down at her, "but this is a far better way of spending it, rather than finding gifts." A shrugged rolled off his shoulders as he skated by her side, listening to how she described her life in Australia. Her demeanour alone told him that she didn't want to delve into too much details, and so stopped himself from asking why she said she had to leave. Siriys instead just nodded, lips pressed firmly together as the two skated around the ring. "Well, I'm glad that you two chose the Americas," he commented once Charlie had finished. "It gave me the chance to meet you both, and it's made my life considerably more interesting."

He sensed that Charlie was holding things back, but the Celestial wasn't the type to pry or ask more questions when prior ones went unanswered. A look of surprise however flashed over his features when she admitted that he was the first person he'd ever told abut this. It'd been over twenty years since he'd dropped the two off at a west-coast harbour, and which would have meant that Charlie didn't talk about her past for that log duration. His eyebrows were raised, eyes slightly wider than usual, but then he left an easy smile tug on his lips as the surprise washed away. "I'm honoured to have been the first," he said simply. "You're the first person I've ever talked to about my past as well." That was true on a technical sense---true, he'd opened up about his early life with Artemitra and the other Celestials, but Charlie was the first person he'd ever opened up to, on their voyage to the Americas. She wouldn't remember that, of course, but he did.

The Greek male chuckled to himself as he watched Charlie make her way towards the ramp, clumsily clambering out into the snow and towards the bench. Sirius followed suit in a more graceful manner, smooth movements carrying his muscular form across the ice, and he exited with the same amount of poise he had on the ice. "You're very welcome," he responded as he sat by her side, the same easy smile upon his lips as he removed his skates. His smile only grew at her mention of wanting to do this more often, some amount of satisfaction warming his chest as he reached for his boots. "I would love to," he agreed simply, letting his blue hues meet hers for a moment before he slipped on the leather. footwear. "What else is outside your comfort zone? Rock-climbing? Hiking? I'd offer to teach you how to sail, but the sea is far too far from here for it to be a day trip," he offered, hinting a little to his passion. Maybe the mention of him knowing how to sail might just spark something in the Initia's memory. Another chuckle parted his lips at her unsureness, the man shaking his head as he got to his feet. "Of course I want to, Charlie---do you think I'd teach just anyone to skate?"

A smirk flashed across his features for a moment before he then bent down, picking up both his skates and hers. "Are you in a rush to go anywhere after this?" he found himself asking, then making his way back to the booth and giving them back the skates. Just as he was about to turn back to her after, however, his smartwatch vibrated and cerulean blue hues flickered down to scan the illuminated screen. "Ah shit," he muttered under his breath, annoyance clear as day upon his face as he looked back at the Australian. "I'm so sorry, but there's an emergency at the club that really needs me there." His lips pursed, fingers running through his dark locks as he shook his head. A hand then reached out, touching the woman gently on her bicep as he tried to bring the smile back on his lips. "We'll do this soon?" The sentence came out more of a question or an offer, hoping that she would say yes. "Please do drop by the club anytime. I'd love to see you there." And with one last hesitant glance, the man said, "I'll see you around, Miss Kinzle," and took off into the crowd, heading straight to the city centre and to his establishment.
