What the hell is she even doing now.

There, Malva could be seen wrecking her entire room, searching for god knows what. Surrounding her was a few crumpled sheets of paper that had been previously scribbled on. Her books were lying on the carpeted floor not so neatly and so was her pillows and blanket. Even her clothes were lying just about the door. She was even pulling out stuff from under her bed, which was boxes of her enchanted stuff that she didn't find the need to decorate her room with. Not long after, she peeked her head out from underneath the bed as she leaned against the wall of her room with both her hands over her face. "I must've misplaced it.. Where did I put it.." That was the same question she has been asking herself for the past 3 hours.

Yes, she has been doing that for over 3 hours ago.

Whatever she was searching for, it was important or at least significant enough to the Aspect of Magic, especially seeing as how distressed she was upon finding out that she could not pinpoint the location of it. Fluttering her eyes open once again, her sapphire hues scanned her entire room, which was a bit spacious when given, and got up from her seating position. Mumbling a few words, it was no doubt that she was casting a tracking spell. Well, she was desperate to find it and what's the harm in casting a small tracking spell to find the very thing she sought out for, in the first place?

A few seconds later, a wind blew towards one direction, her other extended room where she kept all her potions and enchanted items in. She walked as fast as her legs could carry her and unlocked the door, stepping inside as her right hand made a swift movement to take the thing she has been searching for the entire 3 hours. It was a small trinket. Her red ruby pendant. The pendant that glowed so malevolently as the energy that was contained in it. Since it was a given that the Russian born Aspect was not a fan of dark magic, she made sure she never needed to summon the energy to cast it whenever she was called to do so. In return, after she had created such a powerful vessel to hold in the dark energy, she would only need to tap in it as her source. She knew witches and wizards liked to be unique and creative, and she was not excluded from the lot.

Malva has been busy, and thought it was only possible for her to clear her head if she had went somewhere that offers her tranquility and serenity. The closest place that offers her all of that would be near the river bank, which holds as the residency of the diviners. She couldn't remember the last time she had went there. It's been a while. Truly. Shoving her spell journal and a few papers in her bag, she wrapped herself in a scarf and made a swift movement for the room to be tidied up. What's the use of having magic under your sleeves if you can't make use of it to your advantage at times? Closing the door as she locked in, she made her way downstairs and passed the guards that were coming in and out from the entrance door. By now, she was sure everyone knew their preferences and being one of the most temperamental sibling from the lot aside from her elder brother, Erythreus, they know not to dwell within her company if she does not ask for one.

After a while of not getting used to her dragon transformation, she decided to retest it out, just for the sake of rekindling the fires that needed to be rekindled. In an instance, the slightly flaxen haired Aspect had transformed into her purple dragon form as she soared through the skies and found the river bank not far off from where she was at. Taking her place to land in between the trees, she was grateful their dragon forms were invisible to the eyes, since it would've been weird to see a dragon flying around. Even for supernaturals. Slowly reverting back to her human form, she made sure to trace her amethyst pendant that gave her the ability to transform into one. She missed the times where she would just fly around for the sake of peace in her own mind. Coming out from the trees, she took a seat by the boulders near the river stream and placed her bag next to her.

Malva took out her spell journal and skimmed through a few pages until she stopped at one that was half way written, undoubtedly unfinished. She grabbed a quill and began writing something down, probably finishing it. The wind blew through her long locks, those she only bothered to braid half way. It was weird that she was using a quill and not a pen, but despite living in the modern days, she wasn't accustomed to it as easily her younger sister, Cora, did. Besides, she had enchanted it.

Wyatt sat there in dumb amazement for more than a few silent moments as he stared at the woman across from him. The Aspect of Magic. Her confirmation was still not enough for him to really let the information sink in properly as if he was waiting for Malva to start laughing hysterically at the joke she had firmly twisted him into almost believing. The ticks on the clock went a few more times around its face before he finally let out a breathless few choice words when she didn't confirm his fears. "Holy shit."

Was he surprised? You're damn right he was surprised! This was one of the most fortunatus things that he could have ever expected in his lifetime and beyond. Wyatt jumped to his feet and couldn't help the excitement that began running through him which had his breath slightly shaky as he spoke. "Wow. This is... wow." It was like a child meeting Santa Claus. "You're beautiful, actually." That came out so wrong. "I mean, yes, I wasn't expecting you to look like.. you." 'Yeah, keep digging that hole to bury yourself in, idiot.' Wyatt closed his eyes and opened them again feeling rather embarrassed before he could meet her eyes. "I'm sorry. That's not at all how I wanted that to come out." He laughed a bit nervously and shook his head. "This is just a bit crazy for me."

The diviner sat down again and he let his eyes linger on the tapestry they had just used for a spell before looking back to her with even more wonderment than before he knew who she really was. "So many questions." Wyatt smirked and ran a hand through his hair as the first thoughts began to pour from his mind. "How long have you been the Aspect of Magic?" Wyatt couldn't help but wonder if perhaps he had run into any of the writings she had done before as he knew the notes she had in her journal could no doubt be turned into scrolls for others to learn. It then occurred to him that there was no way she didn't know much of their coven here in Evermore. He wondered how much Malva might be keeping from him which of course, he wasn't about to have a full interrogation. He would pretty much do anything to get into her good graces at this point.

Surprisingly, Malva didn’t like to let it be known that she is indeed, the Aspect of Magic. Mostly because once people find out, they wouldn’t really take their eyes off her, pun intended. And it was all because it’s like meeting your imaginary friend when you were a kid. Or Santa Claus, yeah that works too. Her identity wasn’t something Mal could give out freely without thinking of the consequences that would follow suit, some people are good, the others? Not so much in the chivalry department. So once she revealed herself, the first thing that she paid attention to was his reaction, then his body language, and then his response. It’s always the same three stages, it’s almost endearing as it was interesting. “I have to say, I’ve met a few who were jumping to the moon when they found out who I was, but not quite like you” Interesting.

It was quite literally humorous to see him behaving as if she just made his biggest wish come true, “Please, I’m not a genie but you’re acting as if I just gave you 3 fulfilling wishes.” Admittedly, she was intrigued by him so the offer to take him as her new apprentice wasn’t that far off the line too. When he complimented her, Mal couldn’t help but to snicker at it, “Why thank you, it’s not everyday I get to come across a compliment that’s not layered with snark.” Ah, the 21st century, what an enigma. A rather troublesome one but, enigmatic still. “I didn’t expect you to ask me that as your first question but it’s not as if I’m only giving you 3 questions to ask so… I guess that’s fine” she shrugged absentmindedly and tried to count the years, “I’m 1290 this year, so about 1270 years? Give or take. I think I record them annually to remember enough.”

She recalled being particularly young when she was executed. “I’ve been one long enough to witness kings make stupid decisions and empires rise and fall.” It’s funny when you thought about it because half of those ‘famous’ people were supernaturals too. “I left a few scrolls lying around every century in… places. If you’re as passionate as you say you are, you probably found one or two already, that held a particular resemblance. I like to engrave my signature mark on every single one of them” she beamed, “Then there’s the Archives Hall… But you already know about that, don’t you?” Hey, she checks in every once in a while, Penny likes to keep her updated and though she didn’t know Wyatt personally from her stories, a prodigy like him surely must’ve known of its existence when it’s rooted here in Evermore.

Wyatt stayed quiet as she relayed her answer back to him. The amazement of having thee Aspect of Magic in his house was still throwing him for a loop and even though he was intently listening, his focus was just on her actual physical presence. He really couldn't get over it. Sure, Wyatt had met many powerful beings over his long life, and beings as old if not older than her, but never had he ever come this close to someone with this kind of experience in the magical world. All of the knowledge of those years on Earth; All of the spells she must've come across and could perform, not to mention that she's been creating some of her own.

"The Archives? Of course," he replied enthusiastically. "That place is like a second home. I was helping Winston there before..." he trailed off, giving a soft smile. It still hurt Wyatt greatly that Winston was gone, having died the way he did. That man didn't deserve the end he received and Wyatt was still trying to make peace with his death. Winston was like a father to him. Anger had filled him for weeks afterwards and he had taken residence in the Archives once Winston was missing, having been the only other person who could gain access into it in order to keep its endless amounts of books and artifacts safe. Wyatt had become the permanent caretaker for the short while until of course his long lost daughter came into the picture. They were hesitant of each other at first, her far more than him, but when the Archives accepted Penny's blood to gain access to its secrets, Wyatt knew she was meant to be the next caretaker. It didn't surprise him in the least that Malva knew of the Archives. Winston had always teased that the Aspect of Magic was no stranger to the Hall and Wyatt could've passed Malva on any random day never knowing who she was among the other diviners researching in the space.

"You speak so nonchalantly of your time being alive," he continued. "Like the blink of an eye. I guess that makes sense when you are immortal though." Wyatt couldn't help himself. He absolutely had to ask. "I've heard and read some things on the Aspects, but I'd rather hear it from the source itself if it's not too personal." Despite his growing curiosity, Wyatt was fully aware that all his questions might not come without some pain and he wanted to be as delicate as he could. "What is keeping the Aspects immortal? Is it through magic or something unseen? I know some of the lore has said Aspects are chosen after they've died."

Some diviners could sense a certain energy emitting from a person, no they couldn't see the auras in color schemes like her sister, Argent, could. But diviners were humans who were born with magic in their blood. As normal and corporeal they are, the magic flowing through their veins allowed them to access a few abilities many wouldn't even dare to dream of. Which is what makes them different from one another. In all her lifetime, Malva has never met a diviner that held resemblance to another. No matter how familiar and similar one can be, even if they're twins, it's not 99% as it is 100%. She knew Wyatt must've had plenty of questions he wanted to ask her and any other day, Mal would've dismissed him without another thought, not because she was being particularly stingy with her knowledge but more to the fact that she needed to be mindful of who she picked. One may never know the kind of person one could turn out to be once they were offered power. It's all the same cycle all over again, anyway.

"Ah yes, Winston… lovely man. Such a waste of his life to die in such a way though… he could have achieved so much more," but alas, when death comes to knock on your door, you can't exactly escape from it unless you are presented with a loophole. Death is, after all, inevitable. "I imagine you've also come to know that it is now under the ownership of someone else, his daughter." When she first found out about her, the Aspect of Magic was quite skeptical because she came out of nowhere. But a blood test was hardly anything so eventually, she came to trust the female librarian. Enough to let her guard the secrets behind the doors. Should anyone take over the Archives Hall under their own selfish reasons, it's going to be messy. "I speak so nonchalantly because it's nothing new to me, Wyatt" she mused wryly, "There are others who are older than me, sure. But I've been around walking the soils of earth long enough in this domain. You of all people should know that magic is not meant for everyone."

That's why there were also cases of diviners going crazy when they succumbed to the madness of the magic they tested out, most of them were people playing with dark magic though, so there was that. "Rumors spread around fast.  Sometimes they're the truth but often times they are not. At least, not fully. You know how easy people can distort the truth nowadays by only adding a pinch of truth and twist the rest." It was just the cycle of life to keep lying, maybe. "Most days I wouldn't even think about entertaining your request, much less divulge in you with such information but… most days I don't get to meet my potential apprentice so I'll give you a little something to go with it." Trust is the first key, after all. If she wanted him to trust her, then she needed to give the same amount back to him, respect goes both ways.

"Well earth isn't the only realm to exist, for one. We died, yes we were actually dead before we were resurrected to be Aspects. The Gods bestowed us gifts to aid us in our mission, which is to protect the balance of the world. Now before you go ahead to wrap your head around this complex concept of balancing the peace, it's simple… we're not saints. Sometimes a little bad to the eyes of others had to be done to keep them… balanced." Which was also another reason why Mal was regretful for being the cause of the Celestials' pain for a century but she would do it again if it meant keeping the scale balanced. "Magic is magic. Everything is magically induced, Wyatt. Even the Gods being their divine selves. So yes, in a way… it's another energy but it's still magic. Just not the kind anyone else could practice."

His eyes were focused as he listened to her speak. In all the research he had done over his lifetime and believing that he'd really figured out some of the answers to those very truths and lies out there she spoke of, it was still strange to get the actual confirmation he was looking for from someone who he'd casually met during a walk in the woods. Never had he truly believed he would find the answers he was looking for to the many aspects of the magical world no matter how many hours he'd be pining over the research, grimoires, and scrolls and he couldn't help but scoff slightly as his gaze moved from her and to many of those very things that littered his house. It all seemed to be a complete waste of time now that Malva sat a mere few feet or so away.

Wyatt could tell she was being very specific in her words when she explained the Aspects' positions in the world. He didn't want to pry so much of course, but he knew better than most how important balance was in the world. Hell, it was the reason their kind was broken into the light and dark versions of themselves. They were the yin and yang that made the one magical whole. He couldn't imagine the types of choices Malva and her fellow Aspects must've had to make in the years they'd been brought back on Earth to fulfill the tasks these Gods had given them. Gods. That alone was completely blowing his mind.

He realized he had started to drift far away in these concepts and smiled softly, giving a small shake of his head. "Sorry, I'm just trying to process all of this still." Wyatt reached for his beer and took a sip, possibly to swallow all the thoughts that seemed to never stop; More and more questions he wanted to ask her. His fingers moved towards his amulet in habit as they always did when he was far away in his head before his brow furrowed in sudden curiosity as another thought passed. "Why me?" he asked simply, meeting her gaze. "Was it just coincidence I happened upon you or was it something else?" Wyatt wondered if there was some other magical doings that might've brought them together. "Not that I'm complaining," he quickly added with a chuckle. "I just... I don't know. Me out of the many?" Sure, he'd been around longer than most of the diviners in the coven now and was pretty learned, but still, to be worthy of a possible apprenticeship was completely beyond anything he'd ever imagined for himself. "What happens now?"

First timers can be overwhelmed by the kind of information she gives to them. In this case, Mal was sure she has barely scraped the surface of it. There were, of course, more to it. But she couldn't share everything she knew to her apprentice, no matter how prodigal they were. She made the mistake of doing that with one of them, once upon a time. Never again. The last thing she wanted was another diviner who kept digging too deep and didn't know when to stop because there was simply nothing wrong with wanting to expand one's knowledge. Unfortunately, everything has a limit. Even for her. Wyatt was clearly a man who has done plenty of research in his lifetime, from the looks of things laying around in his humble abode was more than enough proof to present itself to her. He did seem promising and Mal was always one who loved to share her experience and knowledge with others, that's the whole reason why she picked them as her apprentice.

"Take your time processing everything" she chuckled, "You're not the first nor will you be the last to gape at this kind of information so don't worry, it's not as if I'm going to completely poof." If she wants him to find her then it's inevitable. From what she knows, he doesn't seem to be someone who was willing to give up so easily either. The tenacity was there and honestly, she likes those the most. Being stubborn can actually get you somewhere when you have enough context. "I mean… if we're being honest, it was an accident. You stumbled across me and things just happen. But I do like to think there's always a way of making things connected. Besides, you coincidentally have a strong lineage and connection to what might be… for the better future of our political side. Your cousin is the ambassador here in Evermore, I want you to help her silently… indirectly, if you may. I wish to keep Evermore balanced between both sides of magic, while the other side of the world is fighting their dominance."

She needed someone level-headed but still impulsive enough to do things when needed. "Aside from that, it's a waste of good talent to just dismiss you like this. You obviously have potential and it's a waste to curb it." He had the room to flourish and she wanted to help him do exactly that. "But who knows? Fate is a hard thing to talk about, most of the time it happens without you realizing." When he asked what then, Mal shrugged absentmindedly, "If you agree to be my apprentice, then I should be getting you ready for the induction. And no, it's not any fancy ceremony, that stopped happened since two centuries ago. Too much effort. Naturally, you would be trained to understand Old Latin better if you're going to have even the tiniest access of my grimoire. We can start there."

Wyatt wasn't one to necessarily believe in destiny. He was level-headed and believed everything that came someone's way was partly to do with their hard work or lack their of. The rest was just a case of unfortunate timing and what some would call bad luck. However, a part of him still liked to think that maybe the cosmic forces of the world pushed the two together for a reason that he still hadn't come to see yet. Maybe the Gods really did intervene if things were swaying in a way that was proving to be good or bad... Or maybe he just wanted to believe that everything he ever did in his life, all the research and need to better his species, was actually meant for something. That might've been the little bit of cockiness built in his blood.

He chuckled slightly, grinning wide at hearing there had been some type of specific induction involved with becoming a student of Malva's. "Oh, Latin is no problem at all. I'm fairly decent with it already, but I'm a little disappointed in the no big hurrah for the ceremony." He was joking of course, but was serious about knowing the language that was written for some of the best bits of history that he ever found. Old Latin was used countless amounts of times in the most early texts in magic and beyond. He'd been honing his skills on the language for some time now, but it took quite a lot to even translate simple texts. The things she would show him would probably require a lot more diligence. "I was really hoping for a parade and feast in my honor."

Wyatt smirked from his quip, but then it faded to show that he was indeed serious and incredibly grateful for the opportunity. He would do anything to help his cousin in her new role and always look out for the coven no matter what as he always did since the beginning. "I will of course accept being your apprentice. It's honestly a great honor to even be considered and I can't thank you enough for seeing whatever it was in me that seemed worthy of your time." His green hues moved about his home for a moment and then back to Malva. "I'm guessing, despite my many works here, that we won't be training at my place. Is there somewhere else that we will be working together? Somewhere where you have more of your works or the Archives perhaps?" What he wouldn't give to get his hands on some of the old texts in the Archives that Winston kept locked away from the world.

He was excited. That much she could see clearly in his green hues, the prospect of getting to learn more than possible was there and he loved the idea of it. Who wouldn't? Mal wasn't one to brag 24/7 but there was a reason why she didn't always take an apprentice on her own. Sometimes she finds a few prodigal people over the centuries but she would often direct them to someone else rather than being directly under her. This was going to be something she hasn't done for a while now. As far as she knew, Wyatt proved to be a trustworthy person, someone who wanted to help his cousin lead to the best of her ability while also being a good acquaintance of the current librarian of the Archives. And she didn't appoint just anyone to take care of a place she cherished dearly on whim. Though, knowing the Aspect of Magic, she still wanted to test him a bit more as they embark on this journey, perhaps a new chapter in his book would prove to do her some good too.

She hasn't been practicing all that much as of late. This would give her a chance to hone her skills even more. "So you got Latin under your belt, I see. Good. But I'm afraid the Old Latin from the texts you might be deciphering would prove to be a challenge" she quipped wryly, she remembered having a hard time understanding the hidden translations even though she started off learning Old Latin as part of her daily routine as a child. She was born a thousand years ago, after all. But one can't simply steal another diviner's work without going through a hard process of decrypting those things. "But that should be fine for you, no? You like challenges, I presume." There was a mischievous look on her, she was looking forward to seeing how he completes his tasks in the near future. Every individual had their own way of completing their work, after all.

Mal noticed the slight teasing tone underlying his words and chuckled, "I'm afraid not. Unless you would like to take a trip to a crypt and do some blood sacrifice for your ancestors" she pointed out bluntly, "I remember some covens have their own rituals… and a few of the Romanian covens actually do that. They visited their ancestors' family crypts and had a whole ceremony there. No feast though. I don't think you'd like that gesture very much." Two can play at this game. When he asked her where they would be training, Malva realized she didn't even think about that, which had her pondering for a while before answering, "Now that you've said it… I didn't even think about it. But surely not here, no. I don't like to be out in the open when revealing things I shouldn't to others" she shook her head dismissively, she had a lot of things that most people would love to snatch out of her hands.

"The Archives is a good suggestion. I don't imagine you wanted to go there for reasons unstated, hm?" It was clear that Mal was teasing him, she didn't have any problem with it. Usually she would keep things under wraps and shield it from the outside world but since he was one the road to be her apprentice anyway, there was no reason to hide it from him. It's not as if he could smuggle those books out. "Is there anything you would like to learn? Like… specifically? Any type of magic?"

"Me? Wanting to go to one of the most important places for diviner knowledge on the planet that has rooms locked full of important texts with one of the most powerful beings in existence who could essentially help me read them? Pssh, no. Of course there's no want for that at all," Wyatt joked, smiling wide. To say that his eyes didn't linger on the doors of those locked rooms several times while he was at the Archives would be an absolute lie. He knew of course why people weren't allowed to just meander in there whenever they wanted. It was a restricted area which was only meant for Winston to keep guarded, even if that meant losing his life to do so. Wyatt understood and respected the need to have those rooms barred. He had plenty of things himself that shouldn't be in the hands of anyone, let alone a diviner. Still, the curiosity of what could be behind those doors was always an itch he could never scratch, but now...

He thought about the question Malva posed to him. Anything specific that he wanted to learn? Just everything. Of course that wasn't exactly feasible and in the end, he imagined that despite his longer life, even the remaining years left to him would still prove not enough time to know it all. Wyatt couldn't help but think of the one thing that plagued him most of all and that was the key to an immortal life. It had started with just wanting to have his mother a little longer in this world; Defying the natural part of human existence. Now he just wanted more time himself. What he wouldn't give to keep on the journey of gaining magical knowledge forever. How he could continue helping his kind. Maybe in time Malva could guide him in that direction as well. Maybe. "No, nothing specific," he replied, which wasn't necessarily a lie. "I'm open to any and everything. I want to learn it all. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I feel like nothing, no magic, could ever be insignificant. You never know when the simplest or most complex of spells could come in handy."

Wyatt realized he was getting that excited twinkle that must show in his eye when the idea of learning something new was possible. He scoffed slightly at himself and looked over to her, absentmindedly playing with his amulet like he always did. "Does that make sense?" He reached for his beer then and stared at it thoughtfully as he spoke. "Honestly, I'm just worried this is a dream and I'm bound to wake up still in the middle of the woods having been knocked out by a falling tree limb or something. If this is a coma though, I'd say it's a good one." He smiled to the Aspect and downed the rest of the drink. "So, when do we start?"

It was funny and honestly cute, it was like she was witnessing someone who just got a candy with his eyes lighting up at the sudden mention on a visit to the Archives. She could understand why he would be excited and happy to hear that, it's not a place just anyone could walk into, much less have full access into some of the aisles. For a promising diviner like Wyatt, he would want to scour the entire place and gain new knowledge. That alone was enough to tell Malva that she didn't make the wrong decision this time, and while she has her own fair share of making mistakes and questionable decisions, choosing her apprentices are not one of them. The Aspect of Magic is extremely meticulous and picky when it comes to things like these. "I wonder what else you thought lies behind those barred entrances" she mused softly, it was interesting to hear another's perspective and she was curious to know what they thought she was keeping in there, away from other people's reach.

The Archives were hidden in plain sight? Still, it wasn't easy to get an access there, only few people knew how to get in and even so, 97% would need to use the same entrance that is guarded by the family that protects it. She had generations of them continuing said legacy. Suffice to say, Mal never felt the need to question or doubt them. She raised her eyebrows questioningly when he told her he didn't have anything specific he wanted to know about it, that was not the turn she thought she would receive but still, she was curious to see if that's really there was to it. He wasn't lying to her though, that much she could sense. "You are not wrong, no form of magic is useless. Every single one of them can be as powerful as you picture them to be once given thoughts and put some work into them. After all, that's what makes the diviners different from each other no? There's a reason why our energy signature are different from one another despite practicing the same form. A simple levitation spell can turn out from levitating small things to levitating the ground's mana itself."

It was always a shocker to what one can do. That's the best thing about having apprentices for the Aspect of Magic, she gets to gauge their potential and each is always different from the other. Never the same. "I'll contact you, I can't promise you when exactly because… Well, I'm a busy woman as you very well know" she pondered for a bit and tried to think of her schedule, it might be sooner rather than later but she didn't exactly have a date. "But don't worry, I won't con you" she teased and got up from her position, she should probably get back before anyone else noticed she's been out, "I know where to find you so don't worry. I'll probably text you and before you ask me where I would get your number, it's no use. It's like the easiest thing to get these days, especially with technology." Before she exited his place, Mal turned around to face him with a grin, "You best prepare yourself though, I don't go easy on my apprentices, not even if they are new."
