Evermore city had become something else entirely for the immortal nephilim, what he expected to be just another stop on the eternal roundabout or live a life and move on had turned out to be the end of an era for Aeryn. Having finally been reunited with his sister and in a place where he didn't have to be so careful to hide what he was or the fact that he didn't age, Aeryn found himself with the scary prospect of being able to settle down for the first time in his long life. Normality now for Aeryn was 7pm til 3am shifts at the sundown bar in mid city Evermore.

Aeryn tended to dress casually for his work, dark t-shirt and jeans this particular evening and nearly all others, for the most part it was quiet given that he simply worked security and helped with serving at the bar when things got especially busy. Generally it was a lot of standing around and thinking but it paid pretty well and every so often he'd have to break up a fight or two or ask a drunken patron to leave. Thankfully, it was only a temporary step in Aeryn's plan, he had decided he quite liked the bar scene, it was casual and fun and for the most part the people he met through it were genuine. If it wasn't for his miserable manager Dave he wouldn't have minded sticking around, but the guy really was a buzz kill and so Aeryn had planned to save up enough money to start his own place, with less yelling at the staff and more living it up.

More of a dream than anything right now the nephilim pondered as he looked out into the night sky from the doorway of the entrance, he tended to stay around here for most of his shift so that he could stop any rowdy or suspicious seeming customers from entering, it also provided a much better view than the crampt back room he had to share with most of the bar stock. Amidst his zoning out Aeryn was brought back to reality by the sound of some sort of commotion in the back inside, furrowing his brow he turned back and headed through the corridor to where the familiar loud music was playing.

From behind Aeryn noticed a tall gentleman whom was having somewhat of a heated conversation with one of the bartenders, from listening he noted that it seemed he'd had over his limit and was being asked to reel himself back. Naturally the nephilim moved closer in case he needed to step in. Hearing the agitation in the man's voice he placed a gentle hand on his back as if to alert him that security for the bar was present and he needed to watch his step "Best not to make a scene" he commented as a warning in order to draw his attention away from the bartender.

Mikael loved his alcohol. It was a fact as clear as day and indicated by the large stocks of wine and whiskey and all other sorts of concoction he had stored in his penthouse apartment. He never needed a particular reason to drink, just that he enjoyed the strong burning sensation the liquid provided on its way down his throat, and tonight the male decided to step out of his penthouse and venture into an unknown bar to try out their supply.

Obviously that idea didn't go as well as planned as Mikael found himself denied of a refill when he had not even begun to feel tipsy. The angel-children were bestowed with natural healing, and on top of that 500 years of life had helped build up a strong tolerance. There was no easy way for Mikael to get drunk - not that he had intended to, just wanting to get a few drinks and a buzz for the night. The bartender, clearly a human, obviously did not understand the male's situation, cutting off his alcohol supply even after he agreed to pay triple the price of each drink. Stubborn as he was, however, the warrior refused to give in and leave the bar, knowing that they had no grounds to kick him out if he wasn't drunk or creating a commotion, and he had intended to do neither, simply wanting to drink away the rest of the night so he could get back to his life in the morning.

The conversation between him and the bartender turned heated however, without Mikael realising and reeling himself back. His impulsiveness was slowly getting the best of him. He was about to question why the bartender was refusing him another drink if he saw he wasn't even in the least bit drunk, when he felt a hand at his back. His warrior instincts kicked in as Mikael turned his head sharply, narrowing his steely gaze at the other male as he spoke firmly, "Don't touch me." His words were edgy as he continued, "And I didn't have cause for making a scene until your bartender began refusing me a drink."

Aeryn didn't care much for the male's explanation of what was happening, he had argued the decisions of the bartenders in the past only to find himself on the receiving end of Dave's 'wrath' which mostly consisted of first being yelled at and then frozen out, as much as he knew he could fight back against it, it wasn't like Aeryn particularly wanted to be fired, work wasn't exactly easy to come by when you were an immortal who knew very little about the modern world. Grin and bear he must. The immortal flicked his eyes over to the bartender who looked a little afraid of the male and nodded a little. Well whatever was happening it was clear the last thing this particular customer was going to be getting was another drink.

Noting the threatening stance the man took as he turned around and spoke his words in short bursts Aeryn sighed moving around him to place himself between the bartender and the dark haired customer. "Alright tough guy, the man said no and since this is a private establishment your protests mean jack" he answered in the same tone that the blue eyed gentleman had spoken to him. After a moment when the man refused to budge Aeryn shook his head placing his hand on the man's shoulder once again so that he could push him to escort him towards the door. As Aeryn pushed however he instantly noted the level of resistance that came from the other male's frame and a cuss escaped his lips as he realized he may have just pissed off the wrong guy.

At this point, it was no longer about the drink for Mikael. His impulsiveness had finally taken full control of his mind, along with the fact that he was most definitely angry at the bartender for thinking of him as some alcoholic fool who needed an intervention. He was an immortal Nephilim, fully capable of holding himself back from the effects of alcohol when he needed to, after all. When the other male walked over to the two, Mikael assuming he was part of the security, he simply stood tall against the bar counter, eyeing him warningly.

The other male's tone however was not helping the situation, Mikael now furious at the lack of respect the bar had for individuals. While the warrior Guard had worked as security before and was known for his toughness, he had always been the kind of person who would be firm, yet polite knowing every individual deserved to be treated with respect and showing that you're better than them while trying to sort a situation like these only made matters worse. In fact, the only time he would use force was if they were going nowhere with politeness. Rudeness was never a trait he cherished in himself or others.

The moment he felt the man's hand on his shoulder once again, Mikael instantly turned around to face him, holding his ground as if it required no effort as he tried pushing him towards the door. "You know I would have actually left but now that you've done that." He let his gaze move from the man's face to the hand that was so audaciously placed on his shoulder, barely registering the cuss that left his lips as he drew back his eyes onto him and threw a punch, his fist hitting the man's jaw, hoping to send him staggering back.

It wasn't exactly that Aeryn agreed with everything that was said and done here so much as he knew speaking out would probably get him fired and while sometimes that seemed like a good thing, he knew he needed money if he needed to make a run for it or even eventually settle himself down somewhere personally and consider that this particular bartender was the rather obnoxious son of the owner, he knew better than to ask questions. Aeryn also wasn't the most tactful of people, he tended to say it like it is and he had little time for people in general, except for those he particularly cared for, sure that might come across as rude sometimes but he figured he was unlikely to see most people again anyway.

As soon as he pushed the other male however the realization had set in of the mistake he had made, this man was undoubtedly a nephilim, he could tell from the level of strength that returned his force, one which was unparalleled by other species, even ones with supernatural strength and the moment the dark haired male turned, Aeryn could see the very same purple glint in the man's eyes that the supernatural could see in his own. Not that had had much time to ponder that thought as he felt the other male's fist connect cleanly with his jaw and from the sheer force of the blow Aeryn was thrown off his balance taking a few steps backwards and turning his head away in a jagged movement.

The male locked his jaw to the side before spitting the blood out of his mouth as the anger started to take him over, Aeryn was a stubborn person, not the kind of guy who took a punch and walked away at least and so forgetting where he was and what role he was supposed to be playing "You really didn't want to do that" he stated as he looked back at the other man not caring that half the resturaunt had turned to look at the situation that was breaking out,  he lunged towards the other male angrily with enough speed to send himself flying as he reached attempting to grab the blue eyes nephilim but the collar of his shirt.

Stupid. Stupid mistake. By the time Mikael realised he had just let his anger take control and deliver a punch that would definitely bite him in the back, it was a little too late and the man looked back threateningly at him. The glimmer in his hues was hard to notice for humans, but the purple glint was far too similar to his own and in that moment, the Warrior Guard knew he had picked a wrong fight.

Nephilims were known to be tough warriors, their strength superior to all other beings. His strength had been one of his special suits in combat, and now that the male in front of him shared in his superiority, Mikael only hoped that his age had honed his skills far more than the male he had assumed to be younger.

Though one to never back down, he stood his ground as the male launched forward, sending both of them flying across the room before hitting the ground with a loud thud, Mikael choked out a breath at the impact, hearing an unnerving sound of his bones. Flinching, he brought his hands up to grip the male's, fingers wrapping tightly around his wrist that was holding onto his collar. He struggled to bring his leg up before finally kicking forward, in an attempt to roll them over. "Funny thing, I was thinking the same." He spoke before raising his hand to deliver another punch.

Normally Aeryn was a calculated warrior, he knew smart plays and he knew when to back down but in that moment Aeryn lost it for just a split second, letting his anger get the better of him as he launched himself at the other male. He knew it was over something petty but truth be told it wasn’t about that, it was about letting out the anger he had at the world for every hand he had been dealt. He was a warrior of the angels and yet here he was answering to a sleazy bar owner who barely paid him enough to live on.

This male however was far more than he bargained for as he lost his grip on the other male and found himself rolling under hitting hard against the floor as he did so with a loud bang. By now there was a commotion in the crowd around them, though no one dared to try and come between the two of them after seeing the hits both of them had landed. The nephilim warrior had never encountered another nephilim that had been immortal before the comment but from the sheer strength he was getting from the other male he suspected he was much older than he looked.

Taking another hit Aeryn let out an annoyed grunt before he leaned up to headbutt the other male as an attempt to affect his balance and get him off of him. The sound was loud and caused one of the spectators to gasp out loudly in shock but Aeryn was too dizzy to really notice what was going on. Placing his hands flat behind him he attempted to ground himself before the other nephilim tried to take another hit ready to dodge this time if he needed to.

Mikael was so caught up in the moment that he didn't even realise what was going on until it was too late - he was fighting with a man, of equal strength and by the looks of his pattern, similar length of experience. He channeled all his energy into the first blow and from then on, it was a rough match between the two, the males toppling over one another on the floor as they fought for dominance and continued to throw punches at each other.

Mikael groaned as he was headbutted, feeling his temples ring loudly at the action, his vision blurring only for a few moments, but enough to lose his balance and fall over. He fell on his back once again and the newly healed bones made another unnerving sound which caused the Warrior Guard to let out a deep exhale filled with pain. He could vaguely hear the whispers around him, someone calling out a name that echoed in his mind. "Aeryn! Constantine stop!" He could make out the couple of voices that were probably from his security guard friends.

Mikael knew the name was familiar but couldn't quite pin down why and so he forced himself back on his feet and grabbed the man by his collar, crouching down to hit him once again when it finally clicked. "Wait." He said, quickly retracting his hand, "Aeryn Constantine? The lad Marianna helped?" He asked, more to himself than the Nephilim in front of him, but now everything made perfect sense.

It was clear from the way the male fought that he was highly trained, likely a pure family and trained from birth he imagined. Every blow that Aeryn dealt was matched with one of equal measure or a similarly generated block. It quickly became obvious that this was about as fair as fights probably got which was a little frustrating considering that Aeryn had initially thought this was simply a human who had one too many drinks. Groaning as another hit landed and blood started streaming from his nose Aeryn rolled away at the sound of shouting.

At first his mind was too shaken to even hear the words that rang through the air but after the rage he had been feeling settled for a moment he realized exactly what was happen and who’s voice was calling for him to stop. His lapse in movement however gave the other nephilim opportunity to seize hold of Aeryn’s collar and drag him closer. Off balance he was sure another hit was going to land when suddenly everything stopped.

The moment he let go Aeryn retreated backwards knowing better than to stay in punching distance of this man. Reaching a hand up he wiped some of the blood from his face attempting to ignore all the other’s speaking as he made out the reason why the other male had stopped fighting. Aeryn’s eyes showed confusion for a moment, his brow furrowing a little, of course he knew Marianna, she had been the one who had lead him to Evermore city and then it snapped and it all made sense, of course he was well trained, he was part of the damn Ailward Guard of all things. “God” he grumbled shaking his head “Don't tell me you're the brother she never shuts up about” of course he already knew the answer as a coy smile crossed his lips, now he had his mind about him, he could see the resemblance as clear as day, their recognition however was quickly interrupted by the booming voice of the bar manager, who had come out of his den.

The male thought he had an upperhand being a Nephilim with centuries of experience along with heightened strength, but seeing the security guard with his purplish hues had him regretting picking up a petty bar fight. However, still not backing down, the two continued to fight - brutally throwing punches and tackling each other to the ground with no regard for their surroundings. Mikael was pretty sure he had broken a few tables in the process and once his back had fallen through the pool table.

However, as soon as realisation hit that the man was not just any other Nephilim with proper training, but one he had a mutual connection with, Mikael had to swallow all his anger, holding his punch mid-air, "Jesus." He muttered, releasing his grip over the man's collar as he gave him a light push. He ran his hand along his jaw, feeling blood trickle from the corner of his lips, wiping it with a distasteful groan. "And you're the newest friend she made." He nodded his head slightly as if acknowledging the male's presence finally.

Before he could say something more, even an apology, he heard the loud voice of another male clearly the size of both of them combined, and by the looks of it, without a gym membership. The man continued to curse at the two, even screaming at the other guards and the bartender authoritatively. Mikael raised a brow, realising he was probably the owner or manager of the place and turned his attention back to Aeryn, "Didn't think you'd be the type to work for assholes like that." He whispered, giving him a side-way glance as the manager went on to show his care for the furniture of the place rather than checking if anyone was hurt.

The fighting seemed petty the moment he knew who this man was and all of the rage aimed at him faded away as though it was never there, Aeryn was a hot head sure but he was also a reasonable and rational person and perhaps he had been a little quick to judge this guy considering being a nephilim meant his tolerance like Aeryn's was probably through the ceiling. "Well I don't think she'd call it a friendship" he answered with a chuckle "More like you saved my ass and now I feel like I owe you something" he laughed, she wasn't exactly the kind of person that seemed to want friends, bit of a lone spirit he supposed "I'm sure she doesn't hate me deep down somewhere".

Their conversation was however pretty short as the manager came storming out guns blazing without so much of a thought for all the people around them nor the customers who had already made their way for the door not wanting to get involved in all the drama, his bad somewhat he supposed but the guy was shouting like the world was going to end over a simple bar fight. Looking back over at the dark haired nephilim he chuckled in response to his whisper a wry smile gracing his lips "Desperate times call for desperate measures and such" he explained making it clear that he didn't agree with the way things were run, in fact if you wanted examples of how not to run a bar this was a pretty good example.

Sighing Aeryn followed the manager through the path back to the manager's office where he stomached another full minute of screaming before he snapped shaking his head. "Well since you put that so eloquently" he commented before slamming his hand down on the desk hard enough to break it in two, calmly he smiled and bowed "I quit" he responded to a widened eyed and for once silent manager as he turned and stormed out of the office and back the way he came. "You're right, it ain't worth bending everything I stand for, for peanuts" by the manager had snapped out of his daze and was chasing after Aeryn, jerking his chin at the other nephilim he started towards the door "I don't know about you but I'm getting out of here" he chuckled softly.

At the male's words regarding his relationship with his sister, Mikael eased his shoulders back in a shrug, "Well if that's the case, you got a pretty good deal." He chuckled, though light-heartedly. The d’Amécourt sister was probably the most sociable of the lot, but that was before the Isle fell. Since then, Mikael found his sister receding more and more into the shadows, keeping to herself which he understood as her way of dealing with the grief of losing so many of her friends, some she had probably had for centuries. It was a sad realisation, but the male knew there wasn't much he could do than giving Marianna the space she needed.

Snapping out of his trail of thoughts, Mikael turned to the manager who was screaming at every individual near his vicinity, causing Mikael to simply roll his eyes and shake his head at his immature behaviour. Sure, talking about immaturity what he did tonight wasn't exactly well thought-out either, but he would at least manage a bar better than this buffoon. A small idea crept up the corners of Mikael's mind at the thought, quickly discarding it for now as he focussed on the male's reasonings for working there. He nonchalantly shrugged once again, understanding his dilemma but at the same time not wishing to comment on it as he watched Aeryn stalk into the man's office.

Mikael took the tip to fix his fingers that were in an odd shape, the sound of bones cracking into place causing most around him to shiver. But he was used to it. He stretched the muscles of his neck and felt his broken back heal by the time the male was out of the office again. "Well that was quick." Mikael noted with a raise of an eyebrow, his steely orbs flickering between the manager and Aeryn. "Ah right." Quickly understanding the situation, Mikael couldn't help but give the manager a sickly sweet, completely sarcastic smile, before reaching forward and grabbing a bottle of bourbon from the counter that had managed to survive their bar fight. He placed a few crumpled notes on the counter that he was sure would be more than enough to cover the cost of the bottle as well as probably fix the broken bar counter and with a knowing smirk, headed out behind Aeryn.

Once they were out, Mikael breathed in the fresh evening air with a soft sigh and then looked to his counterpart. "What a dick." He blew out a breath, taking a swig from the bottle before passing it along to Aeryn.

Aeryn chuckled softly, him and Marianna probably were friends in the sense of it, enough so that they communicated decently often and he was sure if either of them needed the other they would come. “I suppose I did” he answered in an amused tone noting the similarities between her and her elder brother with ease. The stubborn trait being the most evident in them both, even in the very sort time he had known the other nephilim warrior. In a way Marianna had saved him from himself too, distracting him from the inner turmoil he had been going through and making sure the both of them got off the isle before it collapsed.

Aeryn could already tell that his jaw was going to be sore for at least a few days after the incident, his body would naturally heal things up pretty quickly but having taken two full blown punches in the same spot he could feel what was likely a break in the bone. Aeryn had given as good as he received however so it seemed only fair that he take his battle scars and deal with them. It frustrated him just a little that it had to be the face though, he found that all that scars that tended to come his way always ended up being on the most visible parts of his body such as his lower arms and his neck and head.

As Aeryn stalked away from the office there was an eerie calm on his expression which shifted to a smirk as he heard the manager start to follow him after what the nephilim had just done to the table he didn’t imagine he was going to come much closer. Eyeing his new partner in crime he shrugged as he watched the realization set in. Aeryn turned walking backwards as he observed the little show that Mikael put on and a gentle laugh escaped him as he walked out into the dark streets of Evermore city. The immortal shuddered a little as the crisp night chill hit him and he was reminded of the open wound on his lip which was still bleeding “Man did it have to be the face” he grumbled with a shake of his head.

Joined by his accomplice Aeryn went to speak but was quickly quietened by the other male speaking and a chuckle left the male’s lips “Took the words right out of my mouth” he mused and took the bottle raising it to his lips and knocking back a mouthful, well it stung like hell but it certainly dulled the blow that he now had to go through yet another job search.
