There was always a loophole in everything. Taealha first learnt that when she couldn't seem to get things her way during her experiments. She wasn't sure if she had experienced or before in her teen years considering the human still has yet to recall the small bits of her memories before her 17 year old self. Unfortunately, from the previous visit for her medical checkup today the doctor, she said the PTA could be permanent despite her therapies. Clearly, she wasn't happy to hear those news but said nothing about it. It wasn't as if she could actually express her upsetness, anyway. It was simply impossible for her to do that, so she gave a grateful nod and smile to her doctor before taking her leave. She decided then that there must be a way. A loophole.

That was two weeks ago, she was thinking of stopping her therapies but Arianna told her it's best to keep up with it, so she did. Her eyes landed on the picture of her posing in front of the beautiful sunset, she had set it as her lock screen picture. It reminded her of that cheat day she never wanted to end; the best cheat day in her entire life. She ended up befriending the one she requested to take the same picture. Ivory Blake. Taealha misses her. After spending hours talking to each other at the cafe, they were forced to go their separate ways once the cafe was closing, but not before promising each other to meet again later. Initially, they planned to meet again the next Saturday, they were supposed to go to the greenhouse Ivy told her about. Unfortunately, neither of their schedules seemed to line up. Ivy was busy with her work and so was Taealha. She couldn't exactly stop midway and sneak out, it wasn't Taealha.

Whenever Ivy is free, the human would be occupied with her thesis paper or the likes, and whenever she was free, Ivy would be somewhere outside of Evermore, doing her job. But finally, after a while, they were able to set a date to meet and spend the day. It was why she decided to clear everything on her day today, specifically for the Aussie girl. Taealha also made sure nobody would call her in. Today was just her and Ivy, as planned. As part of her New Year's look, the human decided to dye her hair, changing the dark shade of black to a brighter color that would definitely catch people's attention; red. She also sported that new blouse she got, a baby blue one with her usual skater skirt that stops just her knees, lower now because the weather was chilling. Her vibrant hair was curled naturally and left loose with a beret on top of it, her neck adorned with necklaces and all of her ear piercings present. The human still opted for heels, but settled for boots instead of pumps.

Was she all dressed up to meet Ivy? Yes. Taealha always dressed up prettily for herself but perhaps she wanted to show a certain look for a certain someone today. After petting her cat, she slung her bag around her and locked the doors before making her way downstairs. They had agreed to meet in front of the same cafe; the cafe Ivy led her to, that day. It was only a few miles away from her apartment complex and Taealha enjoys jogging every morning, anyway, her cardio levels were fine. By the time she got there, she saw a familiar silhouette standing in front of the entrance, just across her. In order to get there, she needed to cross, in which Taealha waved enthusiastically towards her before doing so. "Have you waited for long?"

Ivy had always had a complicated relationship with her mom who had always been overprotective of her when she was younger but then with time grew distant and found herself more interested in starting a new life than she was taking care of her daughter “My mom and I have somewhat of a complicated relationship” she admitted and pursed her lips for a moment “My dad...he left when I was pretty young and I think she never really got past it” she had married someone else and yet she still felt this sense of resentment from her mother like she was a reminder of the man who left her and the freedom she gave up. Perhaps Ivy just expected most people to abandon her now, considering both her parents basically had.

Ivy laughed when she read Taealha’s message about having an expressive face “I think that was a compliment?” she responded and smiled, purposely pouting and pulling a few funny faces to make her point as she watched the other girl. “Yeah it wasn’t the best” she responded and nodded “But I put up with it because I needed the money to keep living my life and eventually it paid off” thank god she didn’t still have to work in those awful places. Ivy tilted her head slightly when Taealha mentioned watching movies and how she would prefer to do so “Honestly staying home is the far superior option and if you saw my couch you would understand why” she laughed as she hit send, she was sure Taealha’s eyes would widen so greatly when she realized how massive it was “But I did say I don’t like being distracted when I watch movies” she grinned, purposely eyeing Taealha up and down as though to imply she could distract her quite easily.

She shrugged slightly when Taealha said she had given up on the idea of dating guys “Well then I feel very lucky not to be a guy right now” she responded and grinned slightly, she felt like the date was going well so far, they’d seen some really amazing animals and butterflies, taken some Instagram worthy photos, they were chatting away happily. She definitely felt a lot of chemistry with Taealha much like she did the first day they met “Bold of you to assume they could steal my attention away” she typed back, looking up at Taealha for a moment and then smiling softly, if this was what flirting was like she enjoyed it a lot. She was adorable, her reactions to everything were adorable and she couldn’t help but feel a certain kind of elation while they were together. She bit her lip slightly, her eyes meeting Taealha’s dark ones and then dropping to her lips for a moment, she had to snap herself out of it and force herself to look away “Uh..” she spoke softly as she lifted her phone to type again “You said you wanted a picnic so I brought some food for us” she sent the message and then pointed to the sign which said lunch area.

Taealha knew not everyone would have a good relationship with their parents, she could not remember it directly but she remembered Ariana telling her how her parents sent her away to a foreign country when she was younger even when they told her they love her. Whether it was true or not, the human decided to believe in what she wanted to believe; that they really did. "I'm sorry to hear that" she typed, it must've been hard to deal with the abandonment part, some people grieve like this and others like that. Everyone was bound to grieve differently but perhaps Ivy's mother never moved quite past it. She was tempted to ask if it was better now between the two of them but she also didn't want to impose and it honestly felt like a little too personal of a question towards Ivy. She couldn't put her through that kind of uncomfortableness. Nodding in affirmation to her earlier comment, she even included a nodding gif to the messenger, "Of course it's a compliment, that's talent right there."

Scientifically, they would rebuke it and said it was all because of the facial construction of one's face but Ivy definitely proved to be the opposite, which made Taealha stare a little bit longer than she probably should. It didn't help when the lady in question is pretty too. Ivy always made it easy for her to laugh, like now. A few funny faces were more than enough to get the redhead holding her stomach. "I'm glad you never had to do it again" It really didn't sound like the kind you want to work forever. She was grateful she didn't have to do that, her tuition fees were all fully waived by her scholarship and she's worked as a research assistant to get a few extra pocket money. "Okay now I'm curious about your couch" the way she made it sound, it was as if it's the best thing that Ivy ever owned. "You're gonna have to bring me home if you want me to know what you mean by your couch" she teased and felt her cheeks growing hotter when she noticed Ivy eyeing her up and down, sure it was more of a playful gesture but still.

"If I can distract you then it'll be boo hoo if you can't distract me as we've agreed on" she reminded, and grinned bashfully. "Maybe I just like ladies better…" she trailed and put a thinking emoji, "or maybe it's just you." It could be just Ivy. The day went on pretty well for them, there wasn't a moment she didn't enjoy. She didn't know why, but somehow, they always seem to find a way to get back to staring at each other. Taealha's eyes would often gaze into Ivy's green ones or her lips, and Ivy seemed to pay equal attention to hers too. She wondered, how would it be like to kiss a girl? "You brought food for us? Why didn't I know this, Ivy if I knew I would've brought something with me... " But nonetheless, she did still have her arm slung with Ivy's as they walked towards the lunch area. "You're enjoying this so far, right? I'm not the only one?"

Ivy wasn’t used to opening up about herself, most people didn’t want to know about the real her and those who did only wanted to know about her so they could share her secrets with the world. It was public knowledge that Tessa Blake was a very private person, she had to be in order to keep her head afloat in the industry, she created a separation between the person she was in the public eye and the person she really was. She wasn’t as confident or bold as the world saw her, she wasn’t always as happy as the face she showed to the world either. “Thanks” she responded with a smiling emoji at the end “I haven’t seen her in person for a long time, she remarried and she seems happy with him and my half-sister” she nodded slightly as she sent the message. Part of her still couldn't forgive her mother for the way she responded when Ivy told her she was gay “I hope one day we can figure things out” though as usual, things were easier said than done.

She enjoyed how easy it was to be around Taealha and to tell her the truth, she didn’t seem to judge or want her to be any different from the person she really was. Part of her wondered if maybe she should tell her that she was a celebrity but every time the thought popped into her mind she changed her mind because she didn’t want her to see her any differently. She liked just being a regular girl on a regular date with a beautiful girl “I would hope that wasn’t anyone’s endgame, you know?” she responded, sending the message and pressing her lips together “There’s no shame in working in places like that but I really hope for everyone it’s a stepping stone” thankfully that was exactly what it was for her. Ivy giggled softly when she read the message about her being curious about her couch “Guess you will have to come and see it for yourself some time” she responded and smiled, they definitely seemed eager to make more plans together.

She laughed softly shaking her head in amusement when she real Taealha’s comment about distractions. When she said she liked ladies better Ivy grinned slightly “Who could blame you for that?” she responded but then the second message made her pause for a moment before letting a smile cross her lips “Well don’t I feel special” she typed back with a blushing emoji, this date honestly was going better than she ever imagined it would and she felt so happy and excited to be here. The two of them kept having these moments where they would stare at one another, eyes dropping to one another’s lips. Ivy definitely wanted to lean in and close the gap between them a few times but she kept holding back or breaking the moment because she was nervous, it was her first kiss and while she wanted it to be with Taealha, she also wanted it to feel special.

She shook her head when Taealha said she would have brought something for lunch if she knew “I wanted to treat you” she responded, letting a soft smile cross her lips and she laughed when Taealha’s arm slung around her, returning the gesture she wrapped her arm around the other girl’s shoulders “Yes” she responded when she asked if she was enjoying herself “I thought I’d be really nervous and mess up but...you’re really easy to be around” now they were at the lunch table she sat down and then opened the her bag to take out the Tupperware she brought with her, she’d gotten her cook to make them some nice pastries and snacks “Before you ask, I didn’t make it, I thought about making it but I didn’t want to scare you off on the first date with my cooking” she laughed as she nudged it towards her to try anyway.

She’s never felt this excited ever since the day she was accepted to Evermore University on a full scholarship road. Even then, her stomach did not have butterflies running around like it was doing to her right now. One stare at Ivy was all that it took for her swoon, and she had no idea how to keep hiding her own attraction towards the Initia. Was it even possible to hide that? Their relationship, or rather, friendship has been flourishing and blooming for a while now, Taealha didn’t know if she could move to another step without making it seem like she was being too forward on this. But they were currently on a date, right? That must mean they’re heading to another phase or step in the way, no?

She pressed her lips together to form a thin line and frowned before replacing that frown look with a small smile, “At least… you’re happy now, right? I mean, I can’t say much about family, I don’t really have one” she chuckled and paused halfway typing them, “What’s important is to feel good with what you’re doing. Like you’ve achieved something.” She hopes that one day, Ivy would be able to make up with her mother too. It was moments like that, that actually makes her feel a bit envious, she wanted to have parents too. It was just that small part of her that really felt lonely. She realized that when she graduated, she wouldn’t exactly have anyone to celebrate it with her. Aside from maybe her friend, Jae. Or Ivy, if she’s free. “Well we all need to start somewhere to get somewhere, right? There’s no shame in working odd jobs to make do, we all have responsibilities we need to saddle up on and sometimes, we’re not offered the opportunities we deserve.”

If she thought about the times she got rejected due to her disability up until she actually went to their interview in person, she’d remember how they all paid attention to her physical appearance and wanted her to serve as a mannequin rather than a real worker. It sucks. She could feel her cheeks flushing considerably when she said she should come there and see for herself, “I’m really getting an invitation to your humble abode on our first date. This must mean I’m doing exceptionally well hm?” she teased and nudged her playfully. Indeed, how could one fault her for liking the ladies better? Ivy is practically a big example right there, compared to the sorority boys she couldn’t believe she actually wasted a portion of her college years with. If she had a dollar for every time she thought about closing the gap between them and finally pressing her lips against Ivy’s lush ones, she would probably have a decent amount by the end of the day and the day is hardly even over for them.

The human really wanted to kiss her and she had a hint that Ivy may want to do the same. But she held herself back because Ivy seemed to be doing the same. Maybe at the end of the date. Yeah. The way she reciprocated her gesture by also slinging her arm around her made the butterflies return, “I’m glad to hear that. The last thing I wanted to do is to make you uncomfortable” she admitted. Taealha took a seat across Ivy and eyed the Tupperware she brought out, her eyes were gleaming in excitement, “Don’t worry, next time I can cook for you” she giggled and tried one of the pastries, her dark hues fell on her favorite pastry; strudels. She quickly took one bite from it and closed her eyes, grinning brightly because it felt like it was just out of the oven.

Ivy pressed her lips together and shrugged, Taealha was right, she had managed to find happiness on her own and she didn’t rely on others to find it. That was healthy and something she had taken a long time to achieve “Sometimes, sometimes not” she responded honestly, her life could be very lonely and she wished she could have more people in her life she trusted. But working the job she did, there was always this question in the back of her mind about whether she could trust someone or if they were only using her for their own gain. “Do you wish you knew yours better?” she responded, wondering if Taealha missed the idea of having a family or if never remembering having one meant she could move on pretty easily “I mean are there any specific moments you just wish you had...someone?” Ivy definitely had those moments for sure.

She nodded thoughtfully “Exactly, the important part is to always keep pushing anyway though, the world isn’t going to hand you your future on a silver platter” she did believe there was a fine balance between luck and hard work and you needed both to be able to make it in the world “And not be scared when the opportunities finally do come” when the door finally opened you had to be ready to reach for it and not settle for what you have. Ivy noticed the way Taealha seemed nervous and was even blushing when she suggested she was welcome to come see her home and the Initia widened her eyes realizing how she might have taken it “No ulterior motives other than wanting to spend more time with you, promise” she added an angel emoji to the end and giggled softly. She had to wonder what Taealha’s dating life was in the past, how did this compare to the others, would this one be a special one she remembered or just another to add to the list? Ivy didn’t think she would ever be able to forget it.

There had been a few moments today where she had felt herself drawn to the other girl, it would have been easy to close the gap between them and finally experience her first kiss but she held back every time because she wanted the moment to be special and honestly, she wanted it to be private. It worried her that she might be bad at it or disappointing, especially because Taealha had kissed someone before and she hadn’t. She bit her lip before leading the way to the lunch area, they were sitting opposite one another on the bench and the sunlight was shining against Taealha’s hair a little making it look bright red and almost like it was glowing “You cook?” she responded to the message and grinned “What’s your favorite thing to make?” she reached into the box and grabbed a sausage roll for herself before taking a bite “Amazing right?” she spoke it softly out loud because she didn’t want to interrupt her eating, she definitely highly recommended her cooking.

If there was one thing she never wanted for her life, aside from using her name alone to get herself the things she wanted or in other sense; privilege, she didn’t want to spend her life being alone. Taealha thought that was a horrible way to live her life and decided that she would try her best to stray away from that path. So when Ivy said it depended on the situation, she tilted her head to the side and stared at the other female, how was life like that? “I don’t have many friends, I mean not the ones that I could just ring up and ask them to come over… do some girl’s night or something, but I wouldn’t want to be alone by myself, how do you deal with that?” Of course, she would love a me time every once in a while, but Taealha was the type of person who enjoyed being around others, people she could befriend. When Ivy asked her if she wished she had the chance to know hers better, the human shrugged and pressed her lips into a small smile, it was a lot easier to pretend that it didn’t hurt than to accept that it did hurt, but she couldn’t lie to her face. Not Ivy.

“I do. I wished that I could also remember more about them. I feel like I don’t even know anything about them or remember that I do, aside from their names. From what I know, my life would’ve been extremely different than now if I was back in Korea, my sister was against telling me anything about my family, saying they weren’t worth it because they abandoned me, they threw me away because I was an obstacle” but family is family, at the end of the day, and for Taealha, she yearned for that, which she finds pathetic considering they didn’t want her, “I wouldn’t trade this life for anything, of course. I just wished that I knew what they were like, how people thought of them, you know?” Did she wish she had someone to lean on when she just couldn’t handle the pressure of the world? “Mhmm… I wished I had someone. I had my sister but she’s always busy with the orphanage and I didn’t want to bother her.”

She was hoping that with Ivy here, maybe she could be that person for her. “I think we both understood that things aren’t always going to be easy and that’s okay. Just don’t give up, right?” If she had given up before this, then she wouldn’t be where she is today. Admittedly, she was wondering what could escalate when she’s inside Ivy’s home but she didn’t think about that, doesn’t mean she couldn’t find the amusement in Ivy’s reaction to it though. She was hilarious and her reaction was priceless, which sent the redhead laughing because it made the Initia cute, “Of course, Ivy. I would love to spend more time with you, the feeling is mutual, don’t you worry about that” she reassured lightly. Before she met Ivy, she hadn't even thought about dating, she told herself that while she longed to have a romantic dating life, she was just too busy with her working commitment.

That was a lie, obviously. Taealha was trying to save herself the heartbreak when the time came. With Ivy’s presence in her life, maybe she could give it a try. She’s here today, isn’t she? She nodded enthusiastically when she was asked if she cooks, “Sometimes. After I graduated high school, I moved out of the orphanage since I was already legal then. Had to live by myself when I was in college, remember? Save the roommates and all, of course. I had to look out for myself. And now I am working and have a place of my own, it’s essential for me. Though I’m not the best cook though so don’t take my word for it, I may end up poisoning you with cyanide” she giggled and covered her mouth because that joke was morbid, “N-Not that I will try to do that… forget I ever said that.” At that point, her cheeks were red with blush. That was embarrassing. “Do you have a favorite pastry?"

Ivy watched Taealha with a serene look on her face, the Initia could often feel angry at the world for dealing her the cards she had but meeting the human, it was definitely a highlight and she had to wonder if this was her something good that she finally got to experience “I guess I’ve never actually had to be alone, if I wanted to then I could go to parties or spend time with colleagues but” she paused before she continued typing “I guess I just don’t want to be around people who are fake or who I don’t feel want to spend time with me...for me” she hoped that made some sort of sense to her.

She wondered for a moment if she overstepped when she asked Taealha about her family but she figured the two of them were getting to know one another and nothing had been off the table so far, she liked to think Taealha would feel free to say so if she didn’t want to talk about. She read her messages one at a time as she talked about how she barely felt like she knew her family but what she did know was that she had been told she wasn’t wanted. Ivy pressed her lips together “I’m sorry they let you down” she responded, nodding as he hit the send button. It wasn’t Taealha’s fault and she hoped her response reflected the fact she believed that “I get it, you can’t help but feel curious about them, especially because all you know about them is what other people tell you” which meant it could be hearsay or wrong.

“Me too” she responded when Taealha expressed that she wished she had someone who could be there for her important moments. Ivy remembered attending her very first premiere alone, that didn’t feel like an especially good experience. “If we give up then everyone who let us down or told us we wouldn’t make it, it proves them right” would she keep pushing in life just so she could spite the people who told her she couldn’t do it? Yes. She was glad that Taealha seemed to be so casual and just laughed off her accidentally suggestive offers “Okay” she responded and smiled, it felt nice to be wanted, for someone to want to be around you, that was for sure. She grinned as Taealha talked about her experiences and how she had ended up learning to cook and she ended up laughing out loud when Taealha said she might end up poisoning her “You have quite a morbid sense of humor” she jested putting a shocked emoji at the end and grinned because she liked how Taealha felt like she could share a more real version of herself with her.

“I’m biased to apple turnovers” she responded laughing softly because that seemed like such a random pastry to choose as her favorite but she really liked how the sharp apples tasted with the dusted sugar they put on them “So would you say you’re a sweets over savoury girl?” she was curious.

She was used to receiving criticisms on her actions, even when she hasn't done anything wrong but the world has a system where the strong preys on the weak. Taealha, for a while, was considered the weak, the prey on the food chain. They didn't care what she had inside, whatever resolve she had built up inside the small stature of hers. They only cared what they could see. So while she was positive minded to keep her head for endless possibilities, she also knew that not everyone will be able to get through her good graces. Ivy, however, was different than any other person she has met which was saying a lot considering how many new people the human constantly meet. There was a mysterious aura surrounding her and she couldn't help but lean in closer so she could see more. So far? The Initia still has yet to disappoint her. Maybe this was going better than she expected. "How often do you find yourself being… fake, as you word it? When are you being real and when are you not? Do you have a specific switch for it or something?"

The emoji she included after that implied that she was teasing her but Taealha also wanted to know if the person in front of her right now is the real Ivy. She did have 98% of hopes betting that she is though. But a precaution never hurts. She will never be able to get rid of this empty void in her heart when talking about her family, specifically her parents. But those things can't stay with her forever if she wanted to move forward with her life. That's why she made a habit to normalize talking about her feelings and it helped a bit. Besides, Ivy was someone she could willingly trust. "Don't be" she grinned softly, shaking her head slightly as if to tell her it's all fine, "I accepted it a while ago. Not everyone can have a happy family, right? I figured… if I couldn't have a good one in the past, I should at least attempt to create my own happy family, get my hands off the things I cannot control and start getting my hands on the things that I can change."

She didn't mind it at all, life was bound to have her dealing with a few… disparities. "Now you don't have to feel like you're alone anymore. I know it's not much but I think you can start by having one person to be there for you, no?" It was a work in progress, slow and indefinite, but progress in progress. Both her cheeks were a flushing mess, she even slapped her hand over her mouth a few times because she was embarrassed over the joke she cracked earlier, "Not always, I promise" she beamed sheepishly, "I hope I haven't scared you off with it. In my defense, I do keep a bottle of cyanide… for experimental purposes." She's a scientist, a chemist specifically, she probably had plenty of substances brought back home because sleeping at the laboratory every day didn't seem ideal.

When she told her what her favorite pastry was, Taealha parted her lips in awe, "They do sound like they'd be delicious" was she a sweet over savoury girl? "Savoury. I like sweets but there's only so much I could take. You? I mean I don't peg you as the diabetic type aside from your smile, but who knows? Don't judge a book by its cover, right?" she jested teasingly, quickly finishing her strudel from before. "I'm going to be very honest with you, I've never done a date longer than an hour. Unless you'd count the movies. So if I… end up being awkward, that's just me being uh… me."

Ivy widened her eyes for a moment when Taealha quite directly asked her whether she found herself being fake often, she bit her lip for a moment and then shrugged before she started typing “Most of the time” she responded and sighed slightly before she went to explain “I quickly learned in the industry I work in, no one is really interested in knowing who your really are, they want you to project an image they like” which as an actor was something easy for her to do “And then there’s my family...it became evident pretty quickly they weren’t interested in knowing me for me, they wanted me to be this perfect daughter” which she wasn’t honestly. “I told my mom I was gay and she told me it was a phase, so I never spoke about it again” she hoped she could prove to Taealha this was her real self by telling her these things though.

Taealha was such a strong person, she could sense that from the way she responded to the hard things she had been through and honestly, Ivy was a little envious that she couldn’t move on the way she had done. “Not everyone can no, but I hope you know that no one should have to accept something like that” she responded, she wanted to make it clear that she thought what they did to her was wrong. Abandoning her after she lost her memory and had no idea what she was supposed to do, it must have been so scary for her. “Though I did really admire your drive, it takes someone really strong to be able to move past it” but then she also wasn’t surprised because Taealha was this incredibly positive and forward-thinking person and she didn’t seem like the type to dwell on things she couldn’t change.

Ivy couldn’t help but smile when Taealha said she could have at least one person to be there for her and she lifted her gaze and pointed towards the red-headed beauty and smiled before she picked her phone to type “I feel really lucky to have met someone who felt...so real to me” she confessed nodding as she hit the send button. Ivy hadn’t really known what to expect from this date but she honestly felt like she had a real connection with Taealha, she felt herself drawn to her and she liked who she was. She liked her positivity and how she was so honest and upfront, even if it worried her that she would get herself hurt. She was laughed and shaking her head when she said she did have a bottle of cyanide “If you hadn’t already told me you were a scientist I might be a little afraid” she responded and grinned, she didn’t think Taealha had it in her to hurt someone if she was honest.

She grinned slightly when she confessed she preferred savory “Me too, I’m a sucker for a cheese fondue” she grinned sheepishly, Ivy definitely loved cheese a whole lot and she would try and put it with nearly everything she ate “I love cheese biscuits too...I swear I could eat a whole pack of those in one sitting and not even be sorry about it” she grinned as she looked up at her from reading her message and shook her head playfully “You’re not awkward” she responded “Or even if you think you are...it’s cute to me” by now it was getting later into the afternoon, she ate a few more bites of the food and sipped at a juice carton “So what was the single worst date experience you had?” she teased with a laugh.

She had hoped that she didn’t offend him, the last thing she wanted to do was that. But Taealha has a way of speaking her mind, though admittedly they were filtered to be… less harsh than most. By the time she read her messages about what the industry wanted, a frown was creasing on her forehead, she clearly didn’t understand the appeal in wanting to see the worst in people or simply not caring about them until it has any monetary value to boot. “That’s bad of them… I know we work better when we’re passionate. That’s what I do and from what I’ve seen, you’re very passionate about your job, Ivy. I mean, you look happy talking about it and I can see the way your eyes light up whenever we talk anything remotely about it. It’s refreshing to see that and I hate that others don’t see that” she shook her head, people really needed to be involved but of course, the entertainment industry has always sounded like a cutthroat business to be in.

“Being gay is not a phase” she huffed, “I don’t get why people can be so… mean about it. I can't find another word to say aside from calling them homophobes honestly. I know not everything can be anyone’s cup of tea but the very least they could do is… offer respect, you know?” Even if it’s her own mother. Taealha couldn’t recall not being proud of her own sexuality, even though she had nothing going for labels in general. “Well, if it makes you feel any better, I think you’re cute” she really is. In general. And the redhead was clearly smitten by how she portrayed herself. It’s nice to see that Ivy didn’t see her as another person she needed to be a front with. Words of reassurance never quite escaped her attention, even after all these years but hearing them from someone she really cares about? It hits differently. “You think I’m strong?” She could feel her heart fluttering. Was it because she secretly wanted to hear someone tell her that? Or was it something else?

Right now, all she did was stare at the female across her with a newfound fondness. “I hope I can stay this real to you, I don’t like lying and I don’t like hiding myself away from others. It feels so tiring to do that” she accepted the kind of person she was so long ago, it took her some time to adjust to the changes but it helped her see past the differences. Growing is all about building your own character, no? “Well, that does mean you should be very mindful on what you touch when you come over” she teased, “Admittedly, I do have the vials stocked away in my other room, which served me as my work room since I live alone but, I would be careful and cautious if I were you. Having a precaution like that never hurts, right?” Taealha did love it especially when people offer her good words on the work she does, it makes her feel like an accomplished individual.

“God, I think I just fell in love with you again, I love cheese” she obviously didn’t read it twice because she was halfway gushing over the variety of cheese by the time she sent that. Technically, she wasn’t lying, she did fell for her. Countless times over. “Mozzarella or Parmigiano-Reggiano?” She blanked out for a few seconds before quickly typing another, “Sorry I mean Parmesan, yes. That.” Being a scientist meant she loved terminologies, on pretty much everything. When Ivy called her cute, Taealha could feel her cheeks warming up but said nothing as she smiled shyly before typing her response to her other question, “Uh… when I was evidently screwed up? He was my junior, our first date was when he took me to dinner but he didn’t make any reservations so we ended up having to wait for 4 hours. Then he got sick and I ended up having instant noodles for dinner. I mean, it was a bad date but we agreed to a second one after that but he never showed up. I think he was just… afraid because I met him in class after he stood me up on our second date but he ran off… it was really funny.”

Ivy shrugged slightly, she had learned from a very young age that no one really wanted to know you for who you are, they wanted you to fill a role in their life and fill that role exactly how they wanted it, no one wanted to see and understand someone’s struggles, they just wanted them to act happy and move on with their life “It’s okay” she spoke softly and smiled “If I can play the part and it keeps other people happy then I might as well right?” but maybe sometimes she wished someone would like her for the goofy, silly, sometimes messy person that she was. And Taealha had definitely seen a glimpse into her real self as that seemed to be who she connected with that first day when they met in the park. Ivy remembered thinking how adorable she was and that had only been affirmed since then.

She agreed with Taealha wholeheartedly, being gay wasn’t a phase for her, it was something that she felt at her core, she had always felt different when she was young and when she got older she realized all her friends were having crushes and their first boyfriends and she had no interest in dating boys whatsoever. “Yeah...well I think back then my mom cared more for her image than she did caring about her daughter” she sighed softly as she hit send on the message, she really wished that part of her life never happened because it caused her so much insecurity with her own sexuality which was the reason she still fake dating someone just to keep up appearances. She blushed softly when Taealha called her cute “I don’t think anyone calls me cute” she admitted with an amused shake of her head “It’s nice” though she wouldn’t want everyone in the world to consider her cute she supposed.

“Of course I do” she responded without pause, typing the words without hesitation “You’ve been through so much and yet look at you...anyone can see you came out stronger for it” it was really impressive because she knew from experience how you could allow bad things happening in life to crush you and limit you from doing the things you wanted to do and so she really admired the way that Taealha seemed to have pushed through her own hardships, it was inspiring. “It is tiring” she responded and nodded “But you’re doing great at being you” she laughed as she reread that message realizing how cheesy it sounded “Are you this open with everyone?” she questioned, suspecting the answer was yes because of how Taealha just seemed to be.

Ivy widened her eyes wondering what other kinds of dangerous chemicals Taealha kept at her home “What am I picturing some secret lab you have hidden away behind a bookcase or something” she laughed as she sent th message, she sure it wasn’t actually like that but who knew. She grinned when she mentioned her own love for cheese but the undertone behind the message made Ivy widen her eyes but brush it off, there was no way she would fall in love this quickly, it was only their first date after all. Still, it was cute how expressive she was “Mozzarella, every time” she responded in a firm statement “Though it has to be the fresh stuff, once you’ve had fresh mozzarella from Italy you really can’t ever go back” she closed her eyes remembering the taste for just a moment.

Hearing her date story, Ivy leaned with her elbows on the table propping her chin up as she read each message Taealha sent and giggled between eating her food “He forgot to book a table? I might be super unorganized but even I know that if you have a date you make the damn booking ahead” she sighed shaking her head “I can’t believe you agreed to another one after that” she wrinkled her nose and smiled “Do you wanna go see some more? I heard they have a room with cocoons for the new butterflies due to come” she smiled softly as she packed away the leftovers back into the Tupperware.

She didn't want Ivy to squeeze herself to fit the community's expectations, or anyone else's for that matter and she definitely showed her upsetness with how the frown creased her features after the Initia uttered those words. "I wish you didn't have to" she typed, she likes the person Ivy is, the girl in front of her today, and if there was more to her then she would like to see those sides too. "Well, you and I both know there's no need to put up an exterior in front of each other. It's basically useless, I like to think that we like each other's real selves… at least I know I do. The person I met that night that took me to the cute little cafe and treated me to strawberry shortcake" Taealha believes that Ivy had so much more to offer. It seemed like forever ago when they first met each other. Now here they are, on their first date no less. And Taealha enjoyed every second of it. It's sad to hear that Ivy's mother cared more about her own self than that of her daughter's.

But she didn't say another word about it because it wasn't her place to pry. All she could do is offer some sort of comfort and solace to Ivy, to reassure her that she has someone to turn to, whenever. "Are you more in tune with your… sexuality, now?" she had paused for a brief while before hitting the send button, she didn't want to make it seem like she was trying to tell Ivy that she is attracted to her romantically but the inner teenager inside Taealha couldn't stop beaming in happiness upon finding someone she could easily resonate with. Someone who actually made when laugh genuinely. Maybe she just really wanted to show the other female that she likes her a lot. Nothing wrong with that, right? "You are" she affirmed softly, "I mean I find you to be more endearingly pretty than cute most of the time but… who said you can only be one, right? Categories are so overrated" she chuckled, only a blind person would say Ivy wasn't pretty. Beauty is certainly subjective but the Aussie is very pretty.

"I try my best to be better, life is too short for me to dwell on the past and what I can't do, if I focus too much on the bad, then I would not be able to move onto the best aspect of my livelihood. I'm still young, I don't want to spend the rest of my twenties worrying over something I cannot control anyway" Live your life to the fullest, that's what she told herself. It's nice to be able to tell her overview on things though. Without hesitation. When asked if she was this open to everyone else, Taealha grinned softly and shrugged, "Yes? I mean I like to think I'm a social butterfly who likes to mingle. I don't have a lot of things I have to hide or want to hide. But… I don't tell them half the things I told you so… there's that" she wished Ivy can see how special that makes her.

She couldn't stop herself from doubling over when Ivy said something about her having a secret lab in her own home, "That's cute. No, unfortunately, I'm not in the position to have a secret lab in my own place. A, I will never get out of there and B? I will knock over a lot of things and end up melting the house. I can be quite excited and that tends to get me knocking a few things over recklessly." Taealha let our a small moan of excitement when she answered mozzarella. "I knew you had exquisite taste" she exclaimed enthusiastically. "He was actually cute so I thought why not give him another try. My bad I guess… hard to think good things abt dates because of it though" Though Ivy was clearly changing that game now. "Oooh yes please, it's gonna be cute to see those baby caterpillars turn into pupa and you know the likes" it was clear that the human was enjoying the date a lot. Once they have packed the Tupperware, she quickly linked her arm with Ivy's, pressing herself to her side endearingly, "Are you this sweet with others?" she asked curiously.
