It hadn’t escaped the wayfinder’s notice that the celestials both in the castle and outside of it were under experienced. She couldn’t blame them for that considering everything that had gone through, she couldn’t even begin to understand the fear or anger they must feel when they think about the 100 years they had been trapped. She had been one of the only stars to never experience that treatment and she did her best not to downplay it.

Truthfully she did feel like it was her fault, she was the one who had told them they could trust in the Ailward and in the end it was her word that had been broken and it was her people who paid the price. That was why she had always been so relentless on her quest to save them all, she couldn’t live with the fact that she had caused it any other way. It had made her obsessive and at times ruthless when it came for what was best for her colony. And Ophelia still doubted herself even now, she didn’t think she was an especially good leader, every decision she seemed to make ended up spitting in her face. But it wasn’t like she could quit either, she was the wayfinder, it was her supernatural duty to do this.

The thing that made her saddest however, was seeing there be stars that were afraid to shine, afraid to be who they were at their core. There were several members of the faction who had never used their celestial energy and she intended to change that, she was probably the most experienced celestial there was when it came to energy control. So she had sent out word to each of them, offered to train them so to speak. The raven-haired female didn’t expect them all to take her up on it, she knew there was a certain amount of fear you had to face.

But the mirrored room she’d had built in the castle, it was a start. Ophelia was dressed in workout gear, leggings and a sports bra paired with a loose sweater she wore over the top to keep her warm thanks to how chilly this room seemed to get. She was standing in the center of the room and she could see herself in every direction. The beauty of a mirrored room was that it reflected the light celestial energy caused, bouncing it around and preventing it from becoming visible through the walls. It was a safe space.

After about 10 minutes, however, it became evident that she hadn’t been able to convince anyone in the castle to change their minds on facing their fears. Ophelia sighed softly, it frustrated her no end to see people afraid of what they were. Closing her eyes the wayfinder tapped into that part of her which controlled her celestial energy and a bright ball appeared around her. She stepped to the side and it moved with her, she manipulated its shape and direction and smiled, she felt most herself when she was doing this, shining as a star should.

She hadn’t heard the footsteps enter the room until someone cleared their throat and she quickly retracted the light back inside of her as she turned around to see who was standing in the doorway.

Today was the day he was supposed to challenge himself and step out of the boundaries that was placed on him. It was what he's been training himself to do for a while now, yet the red haired celestial could not even muster up the strength nor the will in him to take another step outside his room. So here he was, sprawled on his bed where Yeontan snuggled his left side and Byul sleeping on the carpeted floor. The barks from the Pomeranian didn't went unnoticed by the star, who only stared at the puppy with a conflicted look. He heard about his wayfinder going out her way telling others that she would help them control their abilities. Whilst the prospect was tempting, Hanseol was still fighting with himself internally at what the training would entail, and what of the results? There was plenty of conflicting thoughts playing with his head.

“What am I going to do, Tannie.” he sighed and covered his face with a pillow that muffled his frustrated yells. Don't get him wrong, he wanted to attend the session desperately. It was clear that Hanseol held Ophelia at high regards, putting her up on a pedestal, admiring her bravery and strength. He always applauded her for taking up the title and job as their leader, which could have never been easy at all, especially with the pent up tension lying around everywhere. She found them a home, Evermore. She even freed them from their century long captivity. Ophelia gave them a reason to believe again, but the celestial in him still wasn't sure what to go with this direction. He wanted to embrace himself but at the same time, the dilemma of wanting to forget he's even one, was still there somewhere.

After a couple of minutes later, he made up his mind. He was going to come to this session that was held by her, and see what it unlocks inside him. Whilst he wanted to lead a normal life as normal as he could, he still wished to be in control of his abilities moderately so he wouldn't be fully helpless. Sure he showcased a few stuff but it was nowhere, it was just the few lucky moments when Jae unlocked the emotion and motivation that was needed to kindle the fires in him. He couldn't cling to him forever now, could he? Ophelia was experienced, the most powerful out of them, so this would most likely bring a promising outcome.

Throwing on a hooded winter coat and a black cap matching his outwear, he made sure he was dressed properly and brought extra clothes in his bag just in case. Tucking his phone inside his pocket, he waved a small goodbye to his pups and exited his residency. Thankfully, the hike up the celestial mansion wasn't far off from the neighbourhood he lived at, since there wasn't that much in the west side of the city to begin with. The winter however, was somewhat challenging him as he felt a few gushes of wind flying his way. It only fueled him up instead.

A few minutes later, he arrived at the entrance gate of the mansion. The door was unlocked, probably to allow the others who received the same invitation to join easily. The timid celestial pushed the doors open slowly and closed them afterwards as he searched for the place Ophelia had told them. It didn't take him long to find the mirrored room, because he could sense a light energy emerging from within. Peeking from the door left ajar, his dark hues automatically went straight to the blinding ball of light the wayfinder was wielding. They way she rounded them seemed like it should fall under the category of sophisticated sense. He was fascinated by it, because it was bright, brighter than his own the first time he tried, which was obviously a given due to her status.

Clearing his throat a few times, he pushed away the shy front so things would be easier. It wasn't easy, but he needed to try. “I heard your message..”

For Ophelia, coming to Evermore was about many things, firstly it was a statement, it was a way of her and her people telling the Ailward faction that they weren’t going to run scared from them and that they would face up to who they were. The second thing it had been was a new start for them, a chance to build a life. For her, that was more about watching over the rest of them and guiding them to where they needed to be, so she was happy that Hanseol had decided to move out of the castle and to find his own life in the city, though she did appreciate the fact that he stayed close.

There were parts of her life that she was content with and there were others that she tended to hide from others, but she had always been an advocate for her people not just hiding in the shadows. They had tried that for years on end and yet still ended up being captured and murdered. Ophelia was very much of the opinion that the only way the cycle ended was by the celestials getting stronger and that was the idea behind these sessions. There were older celestials such as her and William who were pretty apt in their energy control, she could generate at will and had learned some pretty powerful ways to use it, but she knew there were also some celestials she had never even seen a light from and Hanseol was included on that list.

She had to admit, of all the people she expected to be standing in the doorway, she was actually pretty surprised it was him. She tilted her head a little but she wasn’t going to complain, Hanseol had told her what happened clinic and she had been doing her best to keep an eye out for him since then. The wayfinder had, of course, warned him off getting any deeper into it but she also knew if it was her who had been attacked she wouldn’t have been able to let it go and so she didn’t press much further. What she could help him with, however, was being able to defend himself.

“I’m glad someone did” she commented a little disappointed and she gestured for him to close the door behind him, well at least a one on one session would probably achieve more overall. The raven-haired female dropped down to sit in a crossed legged position on the floor and waited for him to decide where he wanted to settle before she started to talk “How're the repairs going?” she asked curiously, if she was going to train him she needed to get into his headspace, after all, figure out his motivations so that she could suggest ways to make use of them. She had her own way of generating energy but that was her way, everyone’s was different. Whilst they were talking she generated a small ball of light and tossed it from one hand to the other a few times.

Hanseol still had doubts coming here, he never thought he'd come back again after the last time. That was when Ophelia was introducing him, well somewhat introduce, to a valkyr who would end up becoming one of the most important people in his life from there on. He was being jittery, which was completely understandable considering the young celestial knew he had no control over this abilities, he didn't know how to conjure this or that just because he wanted to. There were times when he would tap into it accidentally, thanks to his emotions playing around with enough motivation. But if you'd ask him to conjure a ball of light just like what the wayfinder just did, on the spot? He'd probably shy himself in struggling.

Insecurity was not a foreign subject to him unfortunately. Though he might show it to people, he is incredibly insecure on a lot of things, if not everything. All of the confidence was a mask that was occasionally utilized in his daily interactions. But he wasn't entirely hopeless since he's slowly getting ahold of sincerity and genuine feelings altogether lately. Han never tapped into his celestial abilities before, not before this year. He wasn't sure if that was just him choosing to push his identity away or he's just afraid he wouldn't be able to live up to it. Perhaps both.

When he peeked inside the mirrored room, he couldn't see anyone else being present except Ophelia. Was he really the only one that came? Or was he just early? Or the opposite? “Uh, am I late? Did everyone else left already?” His voice often betray his physical appearance, with his decent tall stature, his doe-like eyes and boyish facial features that could easily look mature sometimes. But his timidness matched his voice thankfully. It gave a likely innocent vibe about him. Rarely deep but functioned on a mellow and soft tone that was warm enough to comfort people. It was one of the things he favored about himself, something he could feel confident on.

He was slightly taken aback when the raven haired celestial asked him about his clinic renovation. Things were slowly being reconstructed too. “It's going well. There were plenty of damages being done, a lot of broken things that required some reconstruction in the end instead of simple renovation. But it should be finished at the end of the month or so.” Right, he had told her regarding that incident. Truthfully, Hanseol was shy around her. She had this aura that could command the air alone, and he'll be truthful that it intimidated him sometimes. But then, she also had this breeze around her that speaks softly much volume into the warm person she is. Maybe if he knew her just a little bit better as Ophelia instead of his wayfinder, he would be more comfortable.

Placing the duffle bag against the mirror in front of them, he took a seat in front of her. His eyes paid great attention when she generated a ball of light and played around like it was a literally ball. It looked so solid yet so featherless at the same time, it was amazing. “I apologize for my previous meeting. I was being inconsiderate.” he murmured softly, casting his eyes downwards, implying the rather impulsive turn of events in his emotions when Ophelia told her about the volakiri. He knew she was just trying to keep an eye out for him, to which he is immensely grateful for.

It wasn’t a secret that the wayfinder was quite a bold person, she had no shame in what she was. After Ophelia had crashed to the earth it had taken a while for her to figure who she was and what she was supposed to do but from that moment she had always embraced herself, she figured if this was what the world wanted her to be then she would be it. Unfortunately, the nature of who they were forced others to shy away from their abilities because using them exposed them and considering most celestials had spent most of their time running, exposing themselves was the last thing they wanted. She understood it, but she also hated that it was the reality.

The raven-haired celestial shook her head when he asked if he was late, the one thing that Ophelia would never do was mess with the free will of her people, if any of them told her they didn’t want to do something she wouldn’t force them. She liked to think she was making decisions in their best interest but she knew it wasn’t her place to tell people how to live their lives “No, I think the others decided against coming” she stated matter of factly, there was a hint of disappointment in her voice but she didn’t let it affect her too much “But hey you’re here so that means I’m not completely alone” she gave a hint of a smile, she knew she was a little intimidating to the other celestials but she hoped they knew she was there for them.

The wayfinder had a really good memory, especially when it came to her people, she worried about them and cared about them, even the ones she wouldn’t consider especially close to her, part of being their leader she supposed “Good to hear” she affirmed when he spoke about the repairs taking place, she imagined it had been a bit of a nightmare for him having to handle all the animals while the building was being repaired “And you?” she asked with an arch of her dark brow “Still feeling shaken by it all?” she couldn’t blame him if he was, being attacked in your own business was pretty scary and it was the first major incident they’d had since coming to Evermore too.

Her dark hues showed amusement when he apologized for the whole argument they had before he met his now volakiri “I was expecting it” she answered with a shrug of her shoulders “The timings weren’t exactly in our favor and I’d be pissed if something was thrown on me like that too” she tilted her head a little and then once she managed to catch his attention she smiled “Hey catch” she spoke softly and then tossed the ball of light she had in her hand toward him. Celestial energy was very volatile magic, it was difficult to generate but once you had it, it was easy for any celestial to control and she trusted Hanseol could handle it, if he couldn’t, it would simply just absorb into him.

And that was where you began with controlling celestial energy, by handling it until you understood how to generate it “If we’re going to get into how we get you controlling your energy then I’m going to need to warn you that things are going to get pretty personal for you” she had taught this many times before and every single one was different, it took a certain level of personal understanding that a lot of people didn’t have “But we can work on it slowly, there’s no rush” really she was just glad someone had the guts to give it a try.

When Hanseol found out he wasn't late, he turned around to eye the entire room, it was spacious but the mirrors was a self-contradiction to him who wasn't in for vanity. Yeah, he looks for his reflection a few times in the mirror before going anywhere or before crashing face first into his pillow on his bed. But he was far from being vain, as far as his teasing around Jae went, that's all that it was. Teasing. Was he really the only one that came? Maybe he wasn't the only one who's afraid of being a celestial afterall, seeing as no one else took up Ophelia's offer to train.

He could relate not wanting to attend, honestly. But he did feel bad that they left their leader waiting like this. All he could do was muster up a small comforting smile when she said it's fine that he's here. Ophelia wasn't wrong to think Hanseol would be one of the least people who would take up such an offer, because no matter how capable he is physically, his mental had disabled him from thinking much as a celestial. This is what he needs, he's sure of that. Just a little motivation here and there, accompanied by inspiration, and he should be back to his feet. “I hope my company will keep you awake. I'm not the most interesting company to keep around.” The timidness returned and the star looked down to his finger fiddling with the helm of his hoodie jacket that was covering his clothes inside made equipped for physical training.

He made himself comfortable by sitting cross legged in front of the raven haired wayfinder and trained his dark hues on the ball of light that she conjured earlier with ease. The fallen star was in awe, it was unlike anything else he's seen. Sure he's seen a ball of light, he conjured one the last time but it was nowhere near up to participate to what she did. Hers were more solid and blinding, in a good way. “I wonder if we could ever get blind from being exposed to this much light.” It was just purely out of his curiosity to know, it itches him, prompting Han to ask her about it.

He had to pause for a while, letting his train of thoughts settle down slowly as he generated a few words to put into his sentences. “I would lie if I said my level of paranoia didn't went over the roof ever since. I became more cautious on my surroundings, always turning around to see if anyone was hawking me,” he mumbled sheepishly, scratching the back of his head awkwardly. “But I'm better now. When I resume our operations, things should be going back to normal, though I should probably think about getting a more advanced security detail for the premise.” It's not the damage he was worried on, rather on the threats he might be receiving in the near future. Who knows what would happen next? They had launched an attack so openly and publicly on him, one celestial, at his own workplace in Evermore, which is his current home. Who's to say they wouldn't try again? Maybe this time a lot bigger in scale?

Hanseol admitted he almost suffered a mini heart attack when she tossed the ball his way. Catching it gracefully yet leaving the panicked look creasing on his face, it was funny to see just how shook he was being. Surprisingly, it didn't absorb into him, it was still there in its solid form. It was very light, almost featherless. Once again, his attention pulled him back into a world of his own, where he gaped at the light in awe. “I don't think anything can get anymore personal for me, Phe,” he exclaimed, remembering the volakiri bond he initiated with Yeon, which allowed the other male and access inside his head and heart. “After finding my volakiri, I doubt anything can get personal with me again. Though I can't promise not blush occasionally.” He grinned childishly, shedding a youthful light on his facial features that looked more refined and mature these days.

“You're talking to the woman who literally lists reading books as her favorite thing to do for fun” she admitted in return when he spoke about not being interesting, Ophelia actually found him pretty remarkable considering that he was one of the only celestials who had been bold enough in what they wanted from their life to move out of the castle and chase it, she respected his will greatly and he was setting a great example for all of them. She could sense the nervousness from him though and she was doing her best to figure out whether it was her or the training which was making him nervous. Either way, he was here and she would do her best to prove he had very little to be afraid of.

She studied him as he sat opposite her, the younger celestial had always been one that kept his distance from her, she was never really sure if that was because he didn't like her or if he was just shy, regardless she never pushed it. The light she was playing with was a pretty standard one for her, she knew her light like the back of her hand nowadays and she was proud to be able to use it. When he asked if they could be blinded by the light she shook her head “No, our eyes are specially designed with a mirrored layer that protects them from light, we could stare at the sun constantly and it wouldn't affect us” which was for the best really considering how bright a star could glow “Its also why most all of us have perfect vision, the degree of light is almost always perfect” she nodded, though it wasn't impossible for a celestial to go blind if their eyes were physically damaged.

“We all feel the paranoia” she assured him with an understanding nod, she'd spent almost all of her life on the run too so she understood the lack of trust you had in others and how it always felt like someone was out to get you “the important thing is not to let it paralyze you” she added as she met his gaze with an assuring look “you get paralyzed and they win” Ophelia was a very resilient person, she always fought, no matter how hopeless she felt, she would fight for those she cared about. She was glad to hear that he felt like things were better though, it gave her assurance she needed that he was going to be able to recover for it “In the future you should know that I'm one blast of celestial energy away though, I didn't know anything was wrong until I felt you knock down that figure” she didn't get the specifics but she had been aware of a celestial using their energy which had put her on edge considering how rarely it happens “Protecting all of you, that's my purpose” which probably sounded a little pathetic but it was the truth all the same.

She let out a soft but impressed laugh as she saw his shock at her tossing the light his way but he did manage to catch it and the light stayed comfortably in his fingertips “Just like that” she commended with a nod of her head, she generated another ball, her eyes focusing on her hand until the light started swirling around and then slowed when it was in a ball form “Once you have energy in your hand it's much like putty, if you can imagine it then it can do it” she explained and then closed her eyes for a moment, she imagined a bright flower which opened it's petals and then they fell to the ground and dissipated. When she opened her eyes the light did as it was asked and mimicked her thoughts “Your turn” she spoke softly as she watched him, controlling celestial energy was a skill you needed before you should look at making your own, it was harmless to them but to dark aligned species it could do some serious damage.

When he agreed that he could deal with personal conversation she nodded a little “I just knew we never really did the getting to know one another part but just” she shrugged a little “Know you can tell me anything, it won’t be something that shocks me or makes me think any less of you, I just need the truth from you” it was always easier said than done but she hoped he could agree to be open-minded. “Okay so first things first, have you managed to generate your own light before?” she questioned with a raised brow.

Hanseol chuckled softly at her answer, though it was clear that the two introverts were better off kept away from that road. “I don't think reading books is boring. There's like plenty of extraordinary and interesting books lying around in the world, why do people think taking the time to read them is considered boring?” he mumbled, disliking the tag on reading very much, afterall, you are talking to someone who studies most of what he knew today all thanks to the books. That, and that his boyfriend is a literal literature major, working his way to be an aspiring author. Truthfully, he was still contemplating internally if coming here today was a good choice, obviously he's feeling very conflicting about it alone. With good reasons, of course.

Now that he's finally sitting in front of her, he could see her more clearly, and notice the details he had missed out completely before today. Her hair was always looking neat despite everything, and her voice was a lot more melodic and calming than he first perceived them to be. For once, Ophelia did not look that intimidating, which was either a mode she shifts in between or it was just Hanseol being extremely paranoid, so much that he closes every other options away while choosing that. His mouth gaped slightly at the revelation, it was an interesting one that would make a good addition to his ‘celestial encyclopedia’. He's been a celestial all his life but even he had a hard time understanding what they are other than the fact that they are literal fallen stars that somehow crashed on earth one fateful night.

“Interesting. I never thought it that way until as of late” when he glowed, he noticed how he didn't bother to close his eyes while the others around him had to. The celestial had minimal control over what he does sometimes, so to see how calmly and moderate he's taking this, it was surprising. Perhaps, he only ever thought the worse to come whenever he taps into them without even giving a chance to try. Perfect vision, it only adds up to his previous encounter with Jae and how the red-haired celestial always had good vision whenever he chose to draw at night without any assistance, may it be lights or anything else. He remembered how the dhampir tripped on him while he was busy staring into the clearing at the park, tracing every sketch on a Pomeranian puppy.

Staring down to the floorboards, he desperately wanted to say it never wore him down but knew it was a big lie and he couldn't lie to her. It just doesn't feel right, and it wasn't as if Han enjoyed lying to anyone at all, even if it is a white lie. “Paranoia was the reason for my downfall. No matter how thorough I told myself so am with self-preservation, all it takes was that one thought inserted in here and everything goes boom” he murmured silently as he pointed to his head and tapped against the skull a few times. “But I'm trying my very best to get back up to my feet. The only thing that got me going is that I wanted to have a better world to look out for.. Which means even if I get knocked out again, it wouldn't be half as hard to get up again now” and he had a few people to thank for that.

Reaching out wasn't something he was accommodated to, it was a foreign concept still for the celestial. He didn't like to be dependent but he's slowly threading around it, maybe the day would come a lot sooner rather than later. “I'll keep that in mind. I'm not used to having friends or people looking out for me, so it's a relatively new thing that I still have yet to get wrapping my head around” It didn't mean he didn't appreciate the gesture and sentiment though. Hanseol was glad he had someone to look out for him as he's trying to do for the others. “I appreciate all that you've done for us and will continue to do for us. I can't fathom the weight on your shoulders. And if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm also a reach away. Like literally just down the hills at the other neighborhood” he grinned sheepishly. He's not much of a speaker, but he make an excellent listener for sure.

The light brightened a lot more once he switched his hands, making sure not to lose his grip on it which overall really made a funny expression to come masking his features. It was like a child who was given a lollipop candy trying to keep the lollipop candy from falling to the ground. However, that didn't stop him from wandering his eyes to the second ball of light she generated in her hands. The description sounded highly vague even when it seemed so solid, that Hanseol was having a hard time comprehending until he resorted to emulating them to how he would paint. The walls of emotions that comes into his view to color them intriguing their respective hue. It was as if the light he held earlier was no longer overpowering his state of mind because all he saw was how prettily the light molded into a flower. “That's beautiful..” he was truly in awe, his eyes displaying every attention he's given to it solely.

He was slightly taken aback by her telling him it's his turn to showcase his. First of all, that was sudden. Second of all, what is he going to show anyways? Going back inside his head, he tried to search for anything moderate that he could possibly shed light to. His head is a literal mess though, much like the kind you saw people splashing random paints on the canvas and allowed it to take whatever path it wants. It's a whole case of ambiguity to say the least. The ball he held earlier was no more as he allowed himself to absorb it instead. Tilting his head slightly to the side, small trickles of light started to come out from his fingertips and it slowly swirled around like a mini tornado in front of them, until it eventually morphed into a bunny hopping around. “Not quite what I expected but close enough I guess” he furrowed his eyebrows into a small frown but smiled at the outcome nonetheless.

He paused briefly to find the right answer to give to her question. “I have. I just don't have the control over it before… about a month ago, I conjured up a shield unknowingly by accident and believe me, I had to spend like half an hour to try and find out how to close them. Isn't there an off switch or something?” Of course he would ask that.

Ophelia nodded, finally someone who understood her obsession with reading, the Wayfinder cracked a genuine smile in response to his words, she didn’t think herself to be a very adventurous person, her life forced enough of it on her without her permission for her to feel the need to seek out any more “I guess a lot of people don’t know how to appreciate things that aren’t considered extraordinary” she answered candidly, though some of the books she had read she would describe that way, she loved the way that people were able to tell such beautiful stories with their words.

Ophelia tried her best to stay in touch with all of her people but it proved to be difficult, especially because most of them had spent the best part of 100 years together and to a fair number of them she was a stranger. The raven-haired female wanted to turn that around, her role as the Wayfinder was to make sure that each and every one of them was protected and cared for. They were stronger together but they were also stronger when they were content. Phe was also working on the picture she painted around others, she was actually quite a kind person, though very formal and reserved around most, the right people could bring out her playful side too. Hanseol fell in the category of people she didn’t feel like she had made enough of an effort with, never really gotten to know him the way she knew many of the others but she wanted to change that.

“It would hardly make sense for us to be blinded by our own power” she admitted with a slight laugh, her eyes were still studying him as they talked, the way he spoke and acted gave her the impression that he was relatively comfortable, or at least he didn’t intend on bolting out the door within the next minute anyway. “I’ve found that my eyesight also helps me with my aim” she commented figuring she may as well share some things about herself considering how deep the conversation about him may get later “Not sure if that counts as cheating in archery but my arrows rarely miss their target nowadays” nor did the celestial energy she could throw.

The brunette watched as he attempted to stare a hole in the floor below them and she sucked in a breath, she knew that feeling well, the feeling of hopelessness that often came with being who they were, she had tackled that by diving into the power she had and perfecting her control over it, perhaps a little obsessively but it was what she felt like she needed to do “The problem with paranoia is that it becomes so easy to get caught up in it, so much so that you let the very thing that you’re paranoid by, catch up to you in the process” she wasn’t an advocate for making good decisions under pressure, she had made some arguably questionable ones throughout her long life “The only thing that will surprise them at this point is fighting back” she admitted with a shrug, not necessarily in the physical sense but also in the emotional one, refusing to be seen as any less than another species, that was a good place to start.

Ophelia didn’t expect all the celestials to come flocking to her of course, she was their leader by birthright but most of them didn’t really know her and some of them even avoided her. She couldn’t blame them, she knew it was hard to accept what you were when the reality was someone who would constantly live with the fear of death “I look out for my own always” Ophelia insisted with a gentle nod “Even when they don’t want me to, it’s like a switch that never turns off” she chuckled softly, Wayfinder instincts for you, total pain at times, lifesaver at others. She appreciated his offer to talk in return and she nodded gently “It’s enough for me to see all of you getting to live the lives you want to” she assured with a polite smile, she always put others before herself, she probably always would “But I’ll let you know if I ever do” she added with a thankful nod towards him.

Ophelia watched him as he handled the celestial energy that was tethered to her, it was an especially good tool for teaching because she got a sense of the way that Hanseol approached the situation which in turn would help her to tailor the way she taught him to control his own power. It was different for everyone because everyone was different, everyone was motivated and lead by different things. Her power came from her determination and will, she could now generate energy just by thinking about her need to protect her people. She could do a lot with energy now, she experimented with her powers a lot, trying out different movements and thoughts to see how the magic reacted, it really was fascinating and the best part was knowing that they were the only species in the world who could truly control the most powerful magic earth has ever seen “Why thank you” she responded as she lifted her finger, swirling it around the pile of fallen ‘petals’ which lifted and formed a halo of flowers around her head before the energy absorbed back into her and she laughed.

She did wonder if what she was asking him to do was too much, for some celestials they didn’t even know where to start with control but she had a good feeling about Hanseol. Considering how short a life he had lived outside of captivity he was very diligent and intelligent and appeared to be a very fast learner. She leaned forward a little as she watched him, waiting to see what his imagination may manage to conjure. And she wasn’t disappointed, her eyes lighting up in wonder as she watched the spinning tunnel of light cascade across the floor and then turn into the form of what was undeniably a bunny rabbit. She clasped her hands together and smiled wide mouth, impressed. “Looks like you have a bit of playful energy going on there” she mused as she held her hand out towards the light and the little bunny-like ball of light hopped into her hand and then absorbed it’s way back into her.

Ophelia laughed softly when he told her about the problems he’d had with trying to let go of his energy “Your energy is a very personal thing but there’s always one thing that’s a common denominator, that it reacts to the way you’re feeling in that moment” she nodded “A shield is typically generated when you’re overwhelmed with a desire to protect something, though it could equally be something theoretical rather than physical” she pursed her lips “To turn it off you have to find a way to move past that feeling” to tell yourself that whatever you were protecting was now safe.

She wondered what his motivations were, a shield was a very powerful energy manipulation after all and not something that just appeared out of nowhere “Can you name a single emotion you think you felt each time that you successfully generated energy?” there were usually a handful that could tap into it, but it was wise to find one that works best and use that rather than muddle with different feelings. Anger, especially, was a dangerous feeling to begin manipulation with, it made the magic volatile.

Hanseol considered himself to be quite old-fashioned at some parts, where he remained oblivious to the changes around him. He still struggled with the technology surrounding the world today, and was a bit taken aback at how artificial intelligence took over most part of what paid labor was supposed to do, and found it unnerving. It also didn't help that he is a homebody, who really preferred staying indoors comfortably rather than go outside and attempt to socialize. You heard him, attempt. It's a luck to see him even going to the supermarket to do some grocery shopping to say the least, which was why he always buys them in bulk so he can stock it without having any worries on it running out again. He's that bad. So believe him when he said he's one of the most boring person there is, though it wasn't as if he wasn't trying to join the community, he just couldn't find it in him to do so.

“Authors should be praised for their imagination though, I imagine it couldn't have been easy to pull out such words so intricately and mesh them up together to create a masterpiece. It would've taken them months for one chapter. Appreciation and credit should be given when due, but some people just couldn't find it in themselves to do that. Then there's me, who can't even form a proper sentence without winding myself back with a few more tries only to fail halfway.” His shyness could be seen to be cute at times, but the celestial really found it frustrating when it intervened in his progress. Ophelia didn't strike him as someone who was overly strict and uptight, in fact she seemed quite carefree and outgoing now that he's given her a chance. When he first heard about her, he couldn't help but to wonder what kind of a person she was, because all he's heard about her originated from stories and rumors flying around. And who knows just how much of it were authentic.

The raven haired wayfinder oozed a certain calming aura that pulls him in enigmatically. It made him feel guilty that he wasn't able to offer her the same thing today, 2 years ago when they first settled in Evermore. Instead of leaning towards her, he pushed her and everyone else away, to the point where he even chose to move out because he couldn't avoid everyone forever. His mind tends to overpower him sometimes. The idea of being a celestial scares him, even after then, he still didn't want to be one. Han didn't want to be the cause of people's suffering. But after today, maybe he'll learn to think differently about his species as a whole and himself too. It does seem like the star was slowly getting a hold of how far his abilities could go slowly. Maybe if he was able to control them a lot better, things would finally change. Then, he wouldn't have to be so afraid anymore. The fear will stay somewhere embedded inside him, but it didn't have to overpower him, and to him, that's an improvement.

“I think we'll just take perfect eyesight as one of our extra abilities then. Having a good aim does sound pretty convenient” he mused, thinking back to how he's never had trouble in eyesight alone, in fact he could see a lot better at night than day. Which was an irony, since they're stars who only came around when night falls. “I was hit with this kind of information that I was not human so soon after my mother's death. I didn't even know what I am, much less how to control what I have. All I know was that I needed to keep running because somehow people kept chasing me down like being a celestial is a crime. It eventually formed a habit that I couldn't shake off. You know what they say, old habits die hard.” Very unfortunate it is. The degree of fear incited in them would turn to be one of their biggest weaknesses in the future. And since it's themselves, how could they ever fathom to throw it off the rails?

However, he admit that hearing all the positive reactions and advices from people all around really shaped his judgement better. He didn't feel so hopeless now. A surprise attack delivered to his core is all that's possible now. “Thank you for looking out for us. We can be a handful, I know. But knowing someone will always be there for you, it really helps even when you don't see it” he assured, it was precisely the reason why he chose to trust his instincts into attending today–because Hanseol trusted Ophelia despite not knowing her personally. For someone who's sacrificed a lot for them, it's the least they were able to give back. If once he was afraid of his light, now he's fascinated by it. The glow, the energy, every single detail about it made the celestial in him jumped up enthusiastically. Who knew.

When flower petals formed a halo around her before dissolving afterwards, he gaped and followed with a soft giggle. “That's awesome.” He was surprised he was able to generate a light strong enough to morph into a corporeal form. His eyes lit up in fascination as his gaze wavered when the bunny kept slipping and hopping around them. “Someone told me my spirit animal is a bunny. Said I resembled one. I wish he was here to see just how right he is.” Even now, it was clear that Hanseol never once lose thought about Jae, who became a lot more significant to him as time passes by. He didn't know what fueled his abilities, but every time he tried to conjure anything lately, he would eventually associate it with the feelings he felt for the dhampir. And let's just say, he had a lot of emotions out for the male.

He heard every word intently, pursing his lips slightly and furrowed his eyebrows together, as he tried his best to think back what happened. Until a faint pinkish hue came surfacing on both his cheeks following Ophelia's question, and because he leans a lot towards the lighter tone of pale, especially with the striking red magenta hair, it was a lot more prominent despite how faint it was. “Uh, I do remember feeling quite motivated to protect someone very dear to me. But I was also dealing with a mixture of emotions everytime too. It shifts between protectiveness to desire to frustration, all the sorts. But then there were also times when I practiced when I feel happy. Like very happy. Just smiling like I'm in cloud 9.”

“I agree fully” the Wayfinder echoed on his thoughts of the true skill of authors, it wasn’t something she could do, she could be somewhat diplomatic with her words at times but she definitely wouldn’t consider herself good at describing things with words, she was typically quite curt and direct with her words, she didn’t like to talk too much. “I’m just glad that they continue to do so because reading” she paused and looked up and smiled towards Hanseol “that’s where I find a little bit of peace in this manic world” she didn't comment on his rambling, didn’t see the need to really, he said what he wanted to say after all.

Ophelia had always been a calm and level-headed person, she supposed that was part of her Dreyvalian blood because to be a leader you had to be, she couldn’t afford to let her personal feelings get in the way of her choices a lot of the time so she learned how to push them down, think rationally in spite of them even. She did think that she made a pretty good teacher, she had taught many celestials how to control their energy from Alva to Niram and William, she, however, had learned by herself, mostly from sheer will and determination. Ophelia, from the moment she found out what she was and what she was meant to do, had thrown herself into knowing everything she could about celestials, accepted her fate at face value she supposed.

“It’s certainly useful once you learn how to hurl balls of celestial energy around I’ll tell you that” she mused with a gentle smile, she could shoot arrows really well but where she really stood out, or perhaps you could say shone, was when she was using her naturally gifted abilities. When Han talked about his past she nodded slightly throughout what he said and gave him a slightly sad smile, it was always an unfortunate story she heard, whether it be them losing their freedom too soon from the Ailward or some hunters it always came back to running for your life “I know that feeling all too well” she admitted with a shrug “There have only been two times that I have stayed in one place longer than 2 months, the time on Skye before Raven’s death and in the past 2 years here in Evermore” the rest had been constantly moving and learning and running and paranoia, especially in the past century while she was one of the only celestials free and on the run from the Ailward.

Her expression softened a little when he gave her genuine thanks, it was rare that anyone made note of the things she had done and she never expected them to, it was her duty was the Wayfinder to take care of them all, even if she wanted to stop, the intuition in her chest wouldn’t let her “It’s the least I can do, you all are the reason I get up and fight every day after all” and Ophelia was nothing if not a fighter, sometimes she didn’t know how to be anything else. But in the moments she was with the individuals of the community, much like today, she was reminded of the reasons why, so they got to live their lives “I hope to eventually secure us a permanent place in this city, bring what everyone here deserves to reality, a home we don’t have to run from” there was always going to be risk, she knew that, but there was risk anywhere they went, this seemed like the best way to get the life she knew they all craved, a happy, free one.

“It is isn’t it” she commented with a laugh too, she loved celestial energy, it was so beautiful and magnificent to her, it wasn’t something she feared at all. She saw it as it flowed around and bent to what she asked it to do, it was like a living breathing lifeform, like a cute animal that was waiting for you to tell it what you wanted of it. The key part was learning how to communicate with it, especially cause it was so heavily tied to emotions. She nodded softly when he spoke about wanting someone to see what he had managed to achieve “Well if you practice enough then maybe you’ll be able to show him for yourself” your energy always kept its same personality she found, so if he made a bunny appear using her light it was likely he would be able to do so with his own too.

She didn’t ignore the significance of how he talked though, it seemed like there was someone very important in his life that was driving a lot of his will, which she could understand greatly, her mind flashing to Mikael for a moment briefly before she shook it off. He also wasn’t very well at hiding the fact he was blushing profusely, she didn’t comment on it though, she didn’t like to pry unless she had to and she was sure it would come up with time. “Yeah it can be a confusing mix” she agreed with a nod “I’d advise you try and pick one that you feel strongly about and start there, preferably something positive because energy from negative emotions can be…” she bit her lip for a second “A little volatile” she decided that was the best way to describe it.

“You said you managed to generate a shield, which is pretty huge” she nodded a little as she pushed to her feet and took a few steps back. She closed her eyes, focusing on that single desire to protect people and the light appeared around her in what looked like a massive bubble of light “It looked a little something like this?” she asked with raised brows. “I say we start by getting you to generate another one and then we see what you can do with protective energy” it was easiest to focus on something you’d done before, something you knew the emotion attached to. “Before long you should be able to do this” she drew in the bubble and formed it into the shape of an actual shield., much smaller but sturdier looking that rested on the outside of her arm.

She absorbed the shield and then returned to her seat opposite him “I want you to start by focusing on that emotion of protection, think of something or someone you would protect with everything you have and when you feel that I want you to push it outside of you, like you are projecting that emotion into the world” she nodded softly as she met his gaze “If you feel push back, you need to just deepen the emotion, really feel it, don’t be afraid of your surroundings, I’m here to watch out for you” she nodded and waited for him to try.

Everyone has their own coping mechanisms, and Hanseol felt that reading is one of the most mysterious way to overcome the inhibition in them. Some people couldn't word their feelings verbally in a conversation, whether it was because they have no company to speak on it, or simply because they couldn't find the strength and courage to do so. Either way, he doesn't judge, how could he, when he's the same? That would only make him to be a hypocrite, which is exactly the last thing he wanted to be. The celestial has been looking forward to what the world has to offer them for the past few months, delving himself a lot into finding purposes. Perhaps, just maybe, he was willing to live a portion of his life now without any lace of worries accompanying with gloomy and doom trailing behind him. “The world is crazy cruel, but also so beautiful. I think that's the beauty in it, how something so pretty can turn out to be so scary. It reminds me a lot of roses.” As far as he goes around, the fallen star remained a devout believer in fate and destiny. Or at least, the very idea of it.

“You know, a part of me wishes I would've tapped into my ability decades ago, instead of suppressing it inside, leaving it to grow and pent up frustration. But there's also that part who would move on normally without them. I'm in a contradictory position, where I'm not sure which path I should take..” Of course he knew it wouldn't be as easy as said even if he renounced all ties to being a celestial, because at the end of the day, Hanseol Park is still a celestial, and not a human. Nothing will change that fact. But it is astonishing to see what someone's mind could do. Apart from every other celestials, he was one of the youngest ones, who kept away from their community too. The day he chose to move out of the castle, he made a promise to himself to not depend on anyone else. He had the chance to make things right again, and he took it. Things changed for the better over the past months, gradually getting a tad bit better than what he intended.

Honestly, his ability scares him to the point of no end. It's beautiful, but it's so volatile despite coming from light beings like them, a single simple misstep will make everything else go awry. It was enough to jeopardize the entire thing. Was he ready for such possibility? “Evermore was the longest place I've been at.. And Reykjavik would be the shortest, 16 hours I think.” Even with their somewhat permanent status in residing in the eternal city, the celestial couldn't help but to question just how long that will last. 2 years is quite the duration but he really didn't want to leave. Not after he's found so much meaning in the city itself. He likes it here. But the time might come when he is forced to leave and succumb into the cocoon of his nomadic patterns once again. Han's not sure if he'll be able to leave then. Damn him forming attachments.

But he was curious to know how was Ophelia's time in the island. The first and last time he was able to witness the island wasn't when it was at its glory, since everything was so chaotic when they escaped. “Did you like it there?” he asked, biting his bottom lip, and looked up to the wayfinder. “The Isle of Skye?” Surely something must've happened that prompted her to stay there and he's always liked hearing stories. A better listener than speaker. He smiled brightly at the mere thought of securing a safe passage and residency here. It was the city he wanted to stay in, where he didn't have to feel out of place because of what he is. Even in the supernatural world, celestials didn't come a lot, they were closed off lot who tends to keep to their faction only. Even with them, there was no guarantee if anyone else would try to strike them, but at least the peace treaty would keep them on their toes. Less of a thing to worry about. “I really hope we won't have to leave.. I don't want to.”

He's just getting started here, the more he thought of it, the more insight he got. He really didn't want to leave. Hanseol was tired of running. Blushing profusely at the thought of showing Jae what he could do, he exhaled awkwardly and chuckled nervously. “Perhaps one day. When I won't be afraid to use it in fear it would hurt the other.” That was his weakness, Hanseol could never bring himself to hurt or maim anyone, even if they were hellbent into killing him. “I think there'll be plenty of where that came from,” he mumbled sheepishly, knowing fully well he derived a lot of positivity from his dhampir, which was ironic because he was the one who was supposed to be the ball of light and yet it seemed the opposite sometimes.

When Ophelia talked about the shield generation, he nodded gently. Though he never knew how he'd managed to do that, because all he could remember was his emotions taking over him. Watching in awe as the shield pushed itself, his gaze wandered to inspect each nook and corner of it, to calculate just how much it could expand. Truthfully, he felt a bit pressured when she asked him to generate another one. How was he supposed to do that? But he also wanted to learn, and in order for him to learn, he needs to try. He won't admit it, but Han also wanted to impress his wayfinder. He just felt a strange pull towards her and he was sure it wasn't just the whole wayfinder-celestial thing. As he paced his breathing, he closed his eyes and tried to search of anything to use as his anchor. Jae. He's by far, the person he wanted to protect at all times. Memories began to surge in as he caught a glimpse of the fragments where it would always be filled with smiles and laughter alike. It even made him curve a smile without knowing.

He focused on that night at the dojo, and the other night when he was attacked at his own premise, where the dhampir jumped out of his way to save him. The helplessness he once felt when he was only able to fend them off, a little late after he's gotten hurt. But instead of feeling angry and resentful, he allowed the emotions of motivation and protectiveness alike to slowly project what he felt out on the surface. However, he wasn't sure if he had succeeded or not, because he never noticed the littlest change when it comes to generating shield, which served the reason why he never noticed, in the first place.

It was interesting to hear the other celestial’s thoughts on the world, he was so much younger than her and even more so when you considered that he had spent the majority of his life stuck there on Skye, he was one of the many she hadn’t met until that night she saved them all “You’re right there” the raven-haired Wayfinder nodded her head slightly “Are you a fan of flowers?” she asked curiously, she liked them a lot herself and had a little patch of them growing out in the castle gardens, nothing major but it was therapeutic for her to look after them “I love them myself, so beautiful regardless of the ugly world they are a part of” she pursed her lips a little and then smiled.

She nodded as he spoke about his regrets over not learning sooner, she heard the same often from the others, it was a double-edged sword because to become powerful as a celestial you had to understand and use your abilities but also using them exposed you and that puts you in potential danger “Between a rock and a hard place” she commented with a nod “I personally side with the idea of knowing what you’re dealing with, when you can control, you can also wind down your glow when you need to” the learning process was where most of the danger came from, but thanks to the fact their presence is now public in Evermore and mirrored rooms, that was becoming more and more negligible, though she still understood the apprehension “No one’s gonna make you use it but if you know how then that’s your choice right?” she’d never make people do something they didn’t want to.

The elder celestial was always interested to hear about the lives of others in her faction, she liked to see what they wanted to do with their life, their plans and their passions, hear their stories about the places they had seen and memories they had made. She realized with Hanseol however that they may be few and far between, he hadn’t got to live the majority of the time he had been alive. “I know a lot about short stops here there and everywhere” she admitted with a nod, before coming to Evermore it was literally all she had done for a century, every time she thought she could stop and breathe for a moment she felt the need to hop to the next place, it was very lonely for her, she didn’t feel like she had anyone she could let in for all that time.

She was a little surprised when he asked about the Isle, with so many bad memories linked to the place she hadn’t really expected him to want to talk about it or be reminded of the time he spent there. She shrugged her shoulders a little “I liked the idea of security it gave me” she answered with a sincere expression on her face “I sought out the Ailwards because I believed they had a similar interest in keeping our kind safe and therefore might take us in” she pressed her lips together “and for a while that’s exactly what they did, we built our home there much like we have here” she didn’t need to tell him the but in the story, she knew he was familiar with what happened “I judged wrong” she admitted with a half effort of a smile, she still felt guilty for that decision even now. Hearing the way he spoke about wanting to stay pulled at her heartstrings a little, that was all she had ever wanted for her people, freedom and a place to call home “Me neither” she responded honestly “And I will do everything in my power to make sure we don’t have to, you have my word on that” she would fight for what she thought was right always.

Seeing the blush that appeared on his cheeks made the Wayfinder smile, it seemed like whoever this was, Hanseol really cared about them a lot, which made her happy, they all deserved to find happiness like that “Well unless you intend on hurting them you won’t” she assured as she met his eyes “Our magic, it’s so linked to our emotions and our thoughts, you couldn’t do something like that by accident” it was the reason that the magic was so fluid, it followed with the whims of whoever was guiding it, it was flexible and whatever you wanted it to be. Her dark eyes curved with her smile as he mentioned having a lot of positivity at his disposal “Good, because we’re going to need those emotions in their full form” she stated with a slight nod of her head “And just so you know, there’s no shame in feeling things Hanseol, that’s where our true strength comes from” she knew she could come across as emotionless at times but that was because she needed to put that political face on at times, she was actually very emotionally driven.

Ophelia would normally start training with a more theoretical approach, at first for first-generation she would but it became clear to her quickly that Hanseol was more in touch with his celestial abilities and light than he gave himself credit for. She knew she was putting him on the spot by asking him to do this so she wasn’t being too expectant, instead, she sat patiently and watched him as he delved into his own mind. His eyes were closed so she knew he couldn’t see what was happening around him but she was instantly impressed as the moment his eyes closed the light around him began to get brighter, he was very in tune with this particular emotion, she could tell. Which made her proud really, because protective energy was also one of her most powerful.

She leaned back a little as she watched the light very slowly flicker and expand out from him and she clasped her hands together impressed, he really was much better at this than he said he was. Naturally, the Wayfinder reached out to run her finger along the edge of the shield he had generated, it wasn’t as large or as bright as hers but she could feel the pushback of it was strong as she touched it and she beamed brightly. Realizing he was still completely lost in it now “You can open your eyes now Hanseol” she spoke softly her hand resting against the shield he generated like it was a window “I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone generate a shield so easily on their first” she paused “or I suppose second, try” she laughed softly “Are you good with me testing the soundness of it?” she questioned as she took a stance where she held both her hands out in front of her like she was pushing something back “Stand like this, keep your ground, focus your mind on whatever you were thinking about, don’t drop your guard” she nodded gently, she expected to be able to break through this time, but with any luck he would be able to fend her off in a few attempts.
