Aeryn had been in Evermore for a few weeks now and while he was still staying in a run down apartment on a short term lease, the city was starting to become more and more familiar to him. Every morning he would walk through the streets to just take in the changes in the modern world, he still didn't really understanding technology nor why humans insisted in travelling around in metal deathtraps they liked to called 'cars' but he was slowly getting used to the busy surroundings. The Nephilim however knew that Evermore city couldn't be home to him, Evermore was the eternal city and probably somewhere he would never have to leave for fear of people noticing his lack of aging, but it was also just a stepping stone to him in the long journey of figuring out what had happened in the time he had been sleeping on the isle of skye.

Today however, the nephilim's wandering had taken him to a part of the city he had never been before. Aeryn wasn't especially intimidated with the idea of getting lost, after all it wasn't like he had any particular place to be and if he needed to get his bearings he could simply fly into the air and figure it out. Instead of worrying, the dark haired half angel had taken it in his stride. As he continued to walk he noticed how the clustered buildings and homes in the city started to thin out, the houses got larger and more lavish, there were more parks and even a large castle in the distance over the hills. The south west of the city seemed to have a lot more private land, which seemed to be used for gardens and even small farms.

Aeryn was lost in thought when he felt a sharp nudge in the back of his legs from behind. Startled, mostly from the fact that he had been tailed endlessly since he had taken over ownership of the stone of El'Ar, Aeryn pulled a dagger from under his sleeve and turned around ready to face whatever was behind him. Staring back at him however was a small goat, which as if to laugh at his overreaction, bleated loudly at him. Aeryn sheathed his dagger once more before crouching down to look at the strange animal. "It's rude to sneak up on people" he scolded the animal which responded once again with a loud bleat.

Shaking his head Aeryn got back to his feet before starting to walk away from the animal. He had walked about another half a block before he heard the bleat again. Turning around Aeyrn saw the goat yet again. Folding his arms he stared at the animal for a moment before looking around trying to figure out where it might have come from. Perhaps it was lost. He had debated continuing to walk and hope the animal didn't keep following him, but he couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt knowing the poor thing probably wouldn't last a night in the city.

Rolling his eyes, Aeryn had scooped the animal up in his arms and looked around for where he could begin his good deed of the day. "I always preferred dogs to farm animals" he admitted, another bleat in response. "But you are pretty cute" he commented as he continued to walk holding the goat as though it was a teddy bear a child would cuddle.

Another half an hour and Aeryn had knocked on half a dozen people's doors all of whom had proclaimed they had never seen this goat before. Aeryn sighed gently as he set the animal down on the ground for a moment his brow furrowing "Which way is home Mr Bleat?" he asked as if it would know what he was talking about. Regardless when it started wandering down the block towards a more beaten track, Aeryn followed it curiously.

“Tha's a pretty cynical way a’ lookin’ at tha world.” The redhead had noticed that the Nephilim had made a couple of remarks to support her summation, that her new friend was forever in a state of waiting for the other shoe to drop. She'd seen it before, hell lived bbn it before in the beginning of her second life. That very mindset had had her expecting to be yanked back into the realm of the dead for her first 200 years or so on the Isle. One day she had been sparing with Aureus when the subject had come up and he had opened her eyes to the true way of living. From that day forward she had sworn never to fall into that way of thinking again and she was much happier for it.

Laughing as they walked across the yard she leveled her gaze on him, “Unfortunately mos’ don’ git that wake up call an’ go on thinkin’ they are.” The conversation pressed forward and the smile remained on her face. The way he spoke had her woman’s intuition stirring but she decided it wasn't the time to ask. They had only just met and while she felt like she had known him for far longer it wasn't clear if he felt the same. It was rare to find a kindred spirit and Tia was thoroughly enjoying his company. “It's refreshin’ to hear tha’ let me tell ya. Male ego seems ta grow with ev'ry generation and it fits harder and harder ta be a woman.” She liked the advances humanity had made but in many ways were still stick in the past and didn't look to moving forward on those issues any time soon.

Snorting at his comment concerning the universe she lead him into the barn, climbing a set of stairs that opened onto a large loft that was fashioned much like a studio apartment. Complete with a working bathroom, kitchen, and a balcony that had a state of the art grill sitting in the corner. Smiling she toed her boots off by the top of the stairs and headed into the kitchen, “Yeah. Not many people in'erested in this type a’ work. My boyfriend helps out bu’ he's got a ranch a’ his own ta maintain. Ya wanna beer?” The Aspect held out a glass bottle of her favorite import, smiling as the top of another twisted itself off and floated to sit on the counter.

“Perhaps” he responded honestly, he preferred to call it seeing things realistically but he could understand why people might call it pessimistic “I guess you could say the cards I’ve been dealt haven’t convinced me there’s a lot of look forward to” he ran his tongue along his bottom lip, from his father trying to harness power he should never have even seen to watching the woman he loved die right before him there wasn’t many things he could name as positive. Or maybe he only saw the negative nowadays.

He nodded softly, she was right, most people, especially those who were not immortal were pretty wrapped up in their own lives. Not that he could really blame them for that, seeing how fleeting a human life could be, he didn’t question why people would only see the world from their own central perspective “Can’t really judge, a lot of em only have so much time” and living your life was so much more important than worrying about what everyone else was doing for the most part. He pulled a face when she spoke about his attitude being refreshing “It’s a shame you have to say it” he commented with a shake of his head, he didn’t care for society’s way of treating women like they were any less than men. At least they could agree though, he found he was very likeminded to his new friend.

Aeryn followed the redhead through the halls of her home, turning his gaze from side to side to take in his surroundings curiously, he’d never really settled in one place long enough before to build something that resembled homey but perhaps now was the time to change that, it wasn’t like he had any immediate plans to leave Evermore, especially now him and Willa were reunited. “Reminds me that I need to get to work on my own apartment, place is kinda like a ghost is living in it right now” he chuckled, well at least it would fill the time. He watched, again surprised as the bottle moved by itself and the cap turned itself off “Now you’re just showing off” he teased before taking the one she had offered “I never turn down a good beer, thanks” he less gracefully opened his before lifting the glass bottle to his lips and taking a long drink “So what gives you the inspiration for decorating?” now it was on his mind he really did want to make some progress, convince, perhaps himself that he could see a future here, that he wanted to stay.

The redhead gave the Nephilim a candid look, “Naw I don’ accept tha’. The cards can be dealt any way the universe wants but it’s up ta us ta act. I’ve never accepted tha’ a person’s path is set by some unseen force; there are things we can’ control and then there are things we can. I make mah own future.” She'd once been like him, never again. She controlled her fate no matter what happened, she made her choices and everything else was negligible. “Ya look forward to yer own happiness. Period.” She softened the hard words with a wink, knowing full well he may not take a lick of what she said to heart. Again, his choice. That was the beauty of life.

The conversation switched to the breadth of humanity and the state of female empowerment. Nodding her head the Aspect agreed with him, equality of the sexes shouldn't even be an issue and yet it was. The only thing they could do was promote a better outlook and hope things changed in regards to it all. One day maybe, with enough change in attitude things would get better. For the time being it was an archaic form of thought that was rare. Reality was a bitch sometimes.

Laughing she shot him a wink, the beer trick one she enjoyed doing. It was the odd occasion that she was able to use her abilities so openly, to show off as it were. Venetus would have frowned at her, admonished her with how dangerous it was. Not to mention a waste of energy when she should have been monitoring her aspect of the universe. Rolling her eyes at the apparition of him in her mind Tia set the salad down and walked out onto the balcony to start the grill.

Shrugging at his question the redhead stocked the coals, arranging them just so and then sparked a flame in them. Satisfied she let the coals heat up as she strolled back to the kitchen. “I don’ think I have a particular style. I like handmade things, supportin’ people who are tryin’ ta make it on their talents.” Turning she took a drag off the bottle of beer, lips puckering at the lemony tang. “Honestly I don’ spend much time up here anymore. I moved in with Clay a couple months ago.”

Aeryn had to admit that she was pretty optimistic, especially for someone who had lived so long, he found most immortals sided on the lesser side, it was a breath of fresh air to find someone who saw things a little brighter. Aeryn wasn’t going to change his entire attitude just because of what someone said of course but it did offer some food for thought, another perspective to see things “Well the universe putting me into a coma for 100 years wasn’t very kind” he chuckled softly, scratching at the back of his neck, he definitely felt more optimistic since then though, he’d met some great people in this city.

Aeryn had always been a pretty forward-thinking guy, or at least he liked to think he was anyway, he always saw relationships as a simple thing, respect someone and they will respect you back, treat others as you wish to be treated as you will, it worked pretty well for him and tended to bring the right people into his life and ward away others. Like Tia, for example, he could tell she was a pretty good person from the way she acted, she was kind and thoughtful, it was refreshing.

Aeryn literally had no idea what he was doing as he following her around whilst she cooked, never a skill he’d managed to get into unfortunately, he could just about work a microwave or boil water in a pan but he feared he might actually set his apartment on fire if he attempted anything more complicated than that. Eventually he stopped getting in her way and just leaned against the door frame “It must be pretty cool, controlling the elements and all” he commented, he’d noted that the way she used her ‘tricks’ was much like that of an Initia and gathered the rest, living the life he had, Aeryn was able to spot supernatural abilities and tells like second nature.

Aeryn nodded raising his brows a little “I’m still trying to figure out modern technology before I move into modern styles” he commented with a slight chuckle “Not going too great but plenty of time to figure it out” he shook his head a little, one of things that was highest on his list was learning to drive, cars were an invention that blew him away. Taking a swig of the beer she had given him he set it down on the table. He pursed his lips for a moment before speaking again “So what’s the trick?” he asked with a smirk “How do you stay so positive” he’d love to know, perhaps so he could use some of that energy himself.

Laughing lightly the redhead raised her beer in a silent salute, “Fair point.” Indeed it hadn't been fortunate or reasonable for the Nephilim to have been placed in a coma for so long, his young life suspended against his will. Taking a drink of her beer she shrugged, bright blue eyes leveling on his face, “Then again I think I'd take a coma over death.” Her execution had been swift and final, the feelings of her heart had been frowned upon and placing her love on a man her society had deemed an abomination had signed her death warrant. Nothing she said had made any difference, try as she might no amount of pleading or reasoning had had any impact upon her future. Accepting what fate had dealt her near the end she had vowed to meet death with grace and a heart filled with love.

Sighing heavily Tia polished off her beer, placing the bottle in the recycling bucket before turning to grab another. Grinning at his observation she once again shrugged, a delicate lifting of one shoulder, “It was a little overwhelmin’ at first. I went from bein’ able ta control water t in bein’ able ta control all over them. Even ones we didn’ know existed.” Looking down at her hands she often wo dared what her life would have been like if circumstances had been different. “It's scary sometimes, ta think of how much power I wield. Then again tha's probably why I was chosen an’ not someone else.” Her tone was wry, not a boast but an acknowledgment of humility. She held a great weight upon her shoulders, a pivotal task within the universe and it was not to be taken lightly.

Setting her fresh beer down she grabbed the tray with the steaks, carrying it out to the deck where she placed them on the grill. Next she set two foil wrapped potatoes above the steaks and covered it all with the lid. Dusting her hands off she returned to the kitchen picking her drink back up, listening with a small grin as the angel child explain his tastes. His question though made her laugh, hoping up onto the counter she thought for a few moments. “I don' know ta be honest. I think havin’ this second chance is a part of it. I think tha other is if I'm not positive I'll end up jus’ like my siblings. Most of ‘em anyway.” Looking down at her work worn socks, feet tapping together gently. “Life is wha’ ya make of it. I choose ta make it positive an’ get everythin’ I can outta it.”

Aeryn wasn’t all that bitter about the time he had lost really, they would have just been another 100 years spent running and being away from his sister, waking up when he did probably just saved him that time and now he could be around Willa again. It was Aeryn’s chance to start over and Tia was right in that respect, getting lost in the past and the things he had been through would probably just hold him back from any kind of happiness in the end. And Aeryn wanted it, it was something he had told himself he couldn’t have for most of his life, but lately he found himself wanting to reach out for the possibility of it with both hands, grab it and never let go “Also fair” he commented remembering that before they were dragons, the aspects had been normal supernatural beings.

Aeryn raised his own beer to his lips taking a long drink of the liquid, it was actually more refreshing than he was expecting it to be, he normally was more of a spirits person but he didn’t mind a beer on occasion. He had to admit he was curious what it was like to be an Ailward aspect, for your existence to literally be tied to the world, that very thought sounded crazy and Aeryn had seen a lot in his life “Sounds like a lot of pressure” he commented noting the way that her and the other 7 almost seemed to have to be in the media “But a pretty badass power to have if you ask me” there was no doubt that it was a lot of responsibility of course but Tia seemed to be pretty humble with it, no taking over the world vibes.

Aeryn really was curious how she did it, nearly every immortal he’d met suffered from some kind of depression or self-doubt and yet Tia was an example of someone who seemed to just push the world back when it tried to kick her down. It was cute, the way she rocked her feet together and sat on the counter like a child, maybe the secret was staying young-hearted. Aeryn moved to lean his back against the counter as he continued to talk “So your answer is just to look for the positives?” he chuckled softly, well he supposed it was better than dwelling on the negatives “Insightful” he commented with a chuckle. “I should really learn to cook” he commented as he watched her taking care of the food, it was one of those skills he really needed but had yet to take the effort to learn, maybe he could start learning things as a way to influence positivity.

Aurantia instinctively shrugged, pausing with her amber halfway to her lips as she processed what he said. It was a fair comment and yet her natural reaction had been to shrug. As if it were no big deal and yet she knew in her heart he was right. It was a lot of pressure and with tensions mounting throughout the city she felt the weight of her responsibility even more sharply. Bringing the bottle firmly to her lips she took a pull and then set it back down on the counter. “It is.” Grinning as he called her a badass, well her power but she controlled it so he had meant her by proxy.

Turning she grabbed a small bowl of melted butter and herbs, fishing around in one of the drawers for her seasoning brush. Locating it she walked back out onto the porch and doused the steaks liberally with the mixture. “Don’ get me wrong. It can be overwhelmin’ and there are days I jus’ wanna scream an’ unleash it all. Mah family causes tha mos’ stress though so if I can handle them I can handle anythin’.” It was safe to think about it that way but after a few conversations with Clay it had all become rather clear. Venetus was her biggest frustration and lately Malva had even managed to ruffle her feathers.

Flipping the steaks over she applied the mixture again and replaced the lid once more. “Medium rare okay?” Coming back inside she set the little bowl in the sink and retrieved her beer. At his question she had to fight to keep from shrugging, chuckling at herself. “Kinda yeah. Some days are easier than others. I have mah bad days jus’ like anyone else bu’ I have someone who reminds me to look on tha’ brightside.” Clay was her light, which made him laugh given he was a creature of shadow. “Before him I use ta be a broody ass wench.” Laughing at her own memories of her surely self she took another drink as her blue eyes leveled on his face.

“Cookin’ isn't rocket science.” She giggled, shooting him a teasing wink. “I can offer some lessons though most'a mah recipes are pretty rustic.” Comfort food with a healthy twist, hearty and filling without weighing a person down. Most of her cooking was done on the grill with lots of seasoning and veggies, flavorful with lots of color. Clay cooked along the same lines and with his beef mixed with her natural ingredients they ate well. Really well.

Aeryn was probably considered an expert on supernatural species, part of the job title of guardian of El'Ar was knowing everything and anything about those you were up against. The Nephilim knew about species that were not even present in Evermore but the aspects had always been the one that evaded him, being that there were only 8 of them and they tended to stay together and in one place it was nearly unheard of to meet one in person. Aeryn didn't get bad impressions from Tia though, she actually seemed pretty normal despite how significant she was.

The dark haired male was watching as she went through the cooking process, it was certainly more in-depth than simply placing the meat on the grill which was probably all he would be able to achieve. “I know the feeling” he commented, he didn't really like to keep people around, anyone he kept around was in danger the whole time he was on the run and even now when he knew he could stop running and stay if he wanted to that flight mentality was still there in the back of his mind “My sister is about as headstrong as they come” he admitted with a laugh.

“That's perfect” he responded with a quick nod of his head, he wasn't a fussy eater, you could pretty much anything in front of him and he would at least give it a try, he swigged at the beer she had given him before setting it down on the table again. He smiled softly when she said she had someone that reminded her to look up “I had one of those” he admitted with a conflicted look, it was over 100 years ago now but there had been a time when he was due to be married and she had been a lot in a very dark time for the Nephilim “Pretty sure she'd be kicking my ass for not getting up and moving on” he mused with a laugh, he still missed her a lot but she was always the type who told him to make the best of things and sometimes he wondered if he failed her.

Aeryn chuckled a little “That's okay, I think it'll be something I suffer with myself” that was just the kind of person he was really, he preferred to do things by himself than to lean on others, didn't want to be a bother to other people mostly. Aeryn knew the kind of person he was, he didn't like to make plans or promises he didn't intend to actually keep “They have those cooking shows on the TV right?” He was pretty sure he'd seen one while exploring anyway “Maybe I'll attempt to record and follow one of them” which would probably turn out as badly as it sounded like it would.

The redhead grinned as Aeryn mentioned his sister and her personality. The more she learned about the Nephilim the more she found she liked him, he was straightforward and honest. The two were traits that were becoming harder and harder to find, as society had begun drifting towards being hypersensitive about everything and developed tendencies toward subterfuge. It made no sense to the Aspect, having lived in a time when honesty and loyalty were valued above all else. Add to that being part of a species who look for the good in people she couldn't understand the need to hide things or outright lie. “I think I'd like ta meet this sister'a yers. She sounds like my kinda gal.”

Since moving out of the manner Tia had come to realize how little she interacted with others. How few friends she had in her life. It was a sad and sobering realization that had spurred her into getting out and about more, forging connections whenever and wherever possible. Meeting a relative of Aeryn's would be fun and give her another potential friend. Nodding her head she grabbed a meat thermometer, carrying it over to the grill to gauge how much longer the steaks would need. “Couple more minutes.” She murmured, bursting into laughter at the male's summation of the treatment he would get from an old flame. Turning she gave him a teasing look, “Ya seem ta attract strong and outspoken women. Ya must bring it out in'em.”

Grinning Aurantia grabbed a couple of plates and set the table, setting out two glasses of water and all the condiments that might be needed. Giggling as the talk of cooking and shows came up the female took the steaks and potatoes off the grill, set one of each on a plate. “Yeah. Tha shows are good bu’ I always preferred book recipes. A'course there's tha internet now too which makes things even easier.” Setting some things in the sink she waved him to the table, “Help herself. I don't stand on ceremony.” While he situated himself she walked back to the grill, banking the coals so that the fire was out and the thing would cool down. Once that was finished she joined him, scooting her chair close to the table with a satisfied inhale that put the delicious smell of grilled meat solidly at the forefront of her attention.

Fixing up her baked potato she peeled off the foil, balling it up and letting it sit to the side. Next came butter and little garlic salt, mixing it all together while she spoke. “So, besides savin’ wayward goats wha’ do ya like ta do fer fun?” Tia felt like she had talked more and knew very little of her new friend outside of the fact that he had had a very hard and solitary life.

Aeryn laughed softly when Tia commented on his description of Willa, honestly, his sister was the most important person in the world to him right now. Especially because the two of them had only just been reunited after far too many years apart. Willa had become her own person in that time and he was still learning who she was now, she wasn’t the same girl she had been that fateful night they were made immortal and neither was he “I’m pretty sure she’d like to meet you too, though you may never get rid of her, she’s a sucker for animals” he chuckled, if Willa came to this ranch she would probably spend the entire time in the barn showing affection to all the animals Tia kept.

Before coming to Evermore city Aeryn had lived what could be seen as quite a lonely life, he had spent the majority of his time running from place to place in the name of protecting the stone. He was still playing that game, the cursed item hanging nearly on a chain around his neck at all times, his duty to protect it was always there. Now he was here in the eternal city though he found a certain string in him that longed to stay, there were good people here and he could see himself finding happiness here, which also scared him a little. When she commented that he attracted strong women he chuckled softly his mind flashing to the blonde therianthrope alpha he found himself connecting with “You have no idea” he stated with an amused chuckle “Wouldn’t want it any other way though” he stated honestly, he liked people who could challenge him.

The dark haired male liked the sound of her laugh, it was uplifting and melodic and brought a natural smile to his lips, it was rare that you met someone who could laugh so freely with someone they didn’t know all that well, though the more time that passed the more it felt like he’d known her for much longer than a few hours “Books huh?” he raised his brows, he’d never owned a cooking book in his life if he was honest “Any recommendations for a good one?” he asked as he looked down to the plate she had set out for him and licked his lips, it smelled absolutely divine, there was no denying. He was just about done added pepper to the meat and eating a mouthful of the potato when she came back from outside “This.” he stated bluntly “May possibly be the best potato I’ve ever had” he commended with a chuckle before digging into a second bite.

When she asked him what he liked to do he smiled softly and turned his gaze away from the food and over to the redhead for a few seconds “Hmm” he debated, what did he like to do with his spare time that wasn’t totally predictable “A friend of mine and I are working on starting a business, a bar of sorts” he admitted with a shrug “So a lot of my time goes into the planning for that right now and while it might be work, I really enjoy it” he nodded and then continued “As for hobbies…” he popped his lips “I’m really into sailing and fencing” which were really random hobbies, especially because Colorado was a landlocked state and had no sea to sail on.

Grinning Tia turned to look at Aeryn, “Anyone who likes animals is a person I can git along with.” It was getting more and more rare to find individuals who saw animals for what they were: innocent souls who simply wanted to live and love. It disgusted her the depravity that humans had stopped to, leaving their pets out in the cold and even allowing some to abuse and dismember them. If ever she was to meet such a monster the Aspect wasn't sure she could keep her oath of nonviolence. Killing was out of the question but she could certainly inflict great pain upon some hapless victim. It boiled her blood and sparked the temper that ran just below the surface of her personality.

Yanking her mind from such dark thoughts she managed to smile over his acknowledgment of the type of women he attracted. She sensed there was something else beneath the surface of his comment but decided not to push. They had only met a few hours ago, and that was not a discussion for fresh friends. Curning her curiosity she giggled quietly, “Good. Strong women are in short demand an’ we need men who can handle'em.” Shooting him a wink she tucked more firmly into the meal. Her steak was nice and pink inside, steam rising from every slice of the meat along with the fragrant scent of spices that made her stomach rumble. Her smile grew wider at his compliment, nodding her head in appreciation as it was always nice to get a little praise.

Thinking for a moment as she chewed the redhead rose for a moment, padding into the kitchen to open a small cabinet right above the stove. Looking over her selection she grabbed a book on grilling recipes and another the provided an array of quick and easy recipes that could be cooked up in a single large skillet. As an afterthought she took put a slimmer book, dessert centric she placed it on top of the stack and placed them on the counter. Her steel blue eyes held his gaze as she tapped the books with her finger, “Stary with these. Simple an’ easy ta follow an’ above all delicious.” Over the course of her long life, she'd had several Guard members collect cookbooks on their missions. Half of her collection had been courtesy of Octavia, some of her fondest memories had been of the two of them in the kitchen after acquiring a new one and trying out dozens of dishes.

Sitting back down she ate some more, listening to the Nephilim detail out his current occupation and things he liked to do for fun. Smiling wide she nodded her head, “Fencin’. Boy, ya don't find many people these days who even know what's fencin’ is!” Taking another bit of her steak she thought about his business venture, her grin turning a little wry, “Wha’ exactly is a ‘bar a’ sorts’?” She was teasing partly, while also curious as to what he meant. It had been a long time since she had stepped foot in such a place. Her favored bar scene usually featured country music and a good sized area for dancing.

Thinking over his second hobby, her head cocked thoughtfully to the side the Aspect chewed on bites of her dinner. “No good place fer sailin’ in town though the river is a perfect place ta fish and kayak.” Her knowledge of some of the outlying areas though made her expression brighten. “Actually if yes go a little south a’ here tha Cherry Creek Reservoir is perfect fer sailin’. Good size an’ plenty'a wind.” Colorado was a great place to live, plenty of places that provided for an array of hobbies and activities to keep just about anyone busy. It was one of the reasons she was secretly glad she and her siblings no longer lived on the Isle of Skye. She wouldn't divulge that nugget of truth however, as it was not a popular opinion among the Ailwards and would surely start a fight.

Aeryn agreed with her, you could tell a lot about a person from the way they were with animals, those who were kind and patient with them tended to reflect those traits around other people too, if an animal didn’t like someone, he tended to find their instincts were really spot on “She’s got a little pup that she absolutely dotes on, I’m a little jealous cause I’d love a pup of my own” he chuckled softly thinking about the long walks he’d probably go on with his companion “Alas my landlord is a hard ass and I still have a few months on my lease before I can move” he grimaced, well at least he had somewhere to live he supposed.

The Nephilim laughed and raised his hand as though he was going to whisper, resting it against his mouth though he still spoke in the same volume he had before “Truth be told I don’t know how to handle them at all, but it doesn’t stop me coming back for more” he chuckled softly as he lowered his hand back to his side and then linked his fingers through his other hand, he could get shot down a thousand times and still keep getting up, he wasn’t the type to scare easily, especially when he liked someone. As he was eating the steak he sighed with content “Damn this seriously is amazing” he complimented as he swallowed down another bite and then grabbed his beer to take a long drink of it.

He was a little surprised when she got up from the table but he just leaned back in his chair following where she went with his eyes before she returned back to where he was “You even came prepared” the Nephilim chuckled softly as he eyed the books she had set out and nodded his head slightly, they did look pretty tasty from the pictures on the front at the very least. “Are you sure you weren’t expecting company?” the Nephilim jested noting the way that she entertained a stranger coming over for dinner with such ease. Or he supposed they weren’t strangers any longer, Aeryn had managed to find a new friend in the red-headed aspect, which was a nice thought considering he didn’t have many of those.

Aeryn laughed when she pointed out fencing being a hobby of the past nowadays “A shame really considering it’s such a challenging and fun sport” he commented with a shrug, he enjoyed it a lot, it took skill and control and precision, all things he enjoyed to practice and perfect. When she asked him what a bar of sorts was he let out a low rumble of laughter “Your guess is as good as mine right now, we’re still trying to figure out what we want to make, something unique hopefully, but neither of us are exactly businessmen” he hoped to figure it out as they went along, though Mikael seemed set on something focused around time periods.

“I’ve never actually been fishing you know” Aeryn commented with a laugh “Always meant to because it sounded like something I’d like but, but never really stayed in one place for long enough to know where to start” Aeryn had spent most of his life moving from one place to another. He found it interesting how Tia seemed to know quite literally everything about her surroundings, she was very clued in and down to earth which was honestly refreshing, most people in the city seemed to have their heads in the clouds “I may just have to check it out” he nodded, it had been so long since he went sailing, he really missed every part of it, though he wasn’t sure how he would feel considering it was the last thing he had been doing before he had been forced into a coma “Sounds like you really like it here?” Aeryn suggested his previous thoughts into words.
