Hanseol has been staring at the clock that was hung on the wall across his room, ticking down to its minute for the past 2 hours. In his hand, was his sketchbook. The drawing on the page however, was a drawing of a person he knew too well. Right, he drew Jae without him knowing, as soon as he woke up. It was a direct violation to one’s privacy, yes, but Hanseol couldn’t help himself from drawing and tracing every outline. His fingertips made use of the pencil he twirled in his hands as he even went as far as to color it, which would honestly be the first time in a while. He’s never colored any of his drawing, which was why it remained as sketches and nothing more. The colors made the drawing look more realistic as the vibrant paints made justice of his well-sculpted face. Besides, it didn’t really violate Jae’s rights if he only drew the person from his memories serving him as the helper. It wasn’t as if he drew the dhampir while the latter was still in his dreamland.

The sets of different pastel and watercolor pencils laid sprawled on his mahogany desk, from assortments of Daler-Rowney as well as Cretacolor. He spent most of his wage on his art supplies really, and used the other quarter for the animals. The soft detailed smooth blemish adorning the facial structure of Jae in the drawing really made the celestial proud to see his work come to life. His soft look really matched Jae’s. What he has no idea was why he drew prince-like outfit for the dhampir. He didn’t even notice until it was too late when he’s already colored them half-way. How was it possible that a drawing was enough to render the celestial breathless? Help him, now.

Setting the book aside, he rinsed his face a few times at the sink using the cold tap water before staring at the reflection in the mirror. His wet hair was still dark and he took the time to recount the days where he last saw Jae, which would be 4 days ago where he ended up spending the night falling asleep on the living room’s couch. After briefly drying his hair, he pushed the sketchbook in the backpack before plugging in his earphones as well as wrapping his coat around him. It was truly cold here but he didn’t let it bother him as he tugged on his scarf a lot firmer before entering the compound of Jae’s dormitory soon after he arrived in the human territory. But he was nowhere to be found, not even the library. He understood it was late at night and obviously he could be asleep but even his roommates had no idea where he was, and when he checked in the library, to no avail, his attempts were futile.

The last place he wanted to check was the dhampir dojo, where most dhampirs would find themselves at. Following his instincts, he made his way there. In the cold, it was a journey, walking back and forth from the west side of the city to the human territory and now to the dhampir territory. They weren’t the most public place either; the dojo. But after a while, he managed to find the location of it. Clearing his throat a few times, he knocked on the entrance door a few times but no one answered. He pushed it open and it was unlocked. Weird, he thought. “Forgive me for entering..” he mumbled silently before walking towards the rooms. He saw a small light from the corner of his eyes and since everywhere else was dark, his faint glow was all that guided him. Did he know he would come off like a ghost? Not really.

A whistle of the metal blade slicing through the air and then a satisfying bang as the blade nestled itself perfectly into the center of the target. Jae dropped his hand to his side with a proud smile before moving closer to the target to collect the razor sharp blade. The moment it reconnected with his hand the blade glowed it’s familiar blue ethereal light, welcoming back it’s owner. Jae had been practicing his aim for the best part of an hour now and he was starting to really get the hang of throwing his daggers. Jae had always been pretty good at aiming, best shot in his squadron during his time in the military but throwing was much harder than he had imagined it would be, applying the perfect amount of pressure to get the distance and precision you wanted.

Jae always seemed to come to the dojo late at night, he preferred being in here alone, after all the others had headed back to their homes for the night. The ambassadors didn’t seem to mind him staying, in fact, the place was pretty much always open to whoever needed to be there. Tonight the dhampir was just blowing off a little steam after getting into a pretty heated argument with another student in his class. Jae had done pretty well not to strangle the guy after he started acting like a pompous know it all and then got the blue haired male into trouble with the lecturer but when he had left he hadn’t felt like going back to his dorm where his roommates would no doubt be playing too loud music.

So here he was, tucked away in one of the private training rooms in the dojo, eyes square on the target as he threw again, this time narrowly missing the middle but still landing cleanly in the next ring out. Jae was starting to think that maybe he wasn’t too bad at this dhampir stuff after all. He had Hanseol to thank for that, after that day where the both of them had been attacked Jae had really gotten more serious with his training, he wanted to be able to fight, he wanted to be able to make sure those he cared about were never in danger. That very thought made him sigh a little in frustration, without another thought he threw the second dagger, it sliding in close to the other one as he landed in the target.

The dhampir had been struggling with his own thoughts since the other night, going back and forth on the things he had been feeling, he still didn’t understand it all or perhaps more accurately he didn’t want to accept that those feelings were real because he knew all the complexity that came with that. Back home it was frowned upon for a male to feel those kinds of things about another male. Most of the older generation shunned the idea of it, pretended it didn’t exist. It scared him a little to think about the way people would look at him if he ever admitted out loud that he felt that way.

But then the other part of him would picture the celestial’s face in his mind, the curve of his cheeks as he smiled brighter than anyone else Jae had ever seen, his gentle touch as he comforted the dhampir when he needed it most, the way he had looked so innocent and peaceful when Jae had awoken in the middle of the night to find him sleeping soundlessly on the other side of the couch. He sighed as he yanked the metal blades from the target once more, running his finger over the dent they had made in the surface, why were things never simple? He cursed in his mind before freezing when he heard the sound of someone walking through the dojo.

It really wasn’t like anyone to come in here without turning the main building lights on which instantly set the dhampir on edge, his clutch tightening around the two blades in his hand as he moved quietly over to the door where he could hear more clearly footsteps moving through the building. Someone here to steal something? The dhampir slowly opened the door of the room he was in soundlessly as he peered around the corner to look for the figure, Jae squinted a little as he watched he caught the movement and light corner of his eyes, his heartbeat quickening as he tried to figure out what the hell he was up against. The figure got closer and closer until it was about to pass the room he was standing in. In an attempt to catch whoever it was off guard he held his blades in front of his chest before he jumped out in front of them. His eyes were met with a bright light which he instantly recognized and the dhampir clutched his hand to his chest in relief as he worked on catching his breath “Fuck Hanseol you scared the life out of me” he stated with a shake of his his head pushing up the bandana he had tied around his forehead to push the hair out of his eyes.

Jae went quiet, his eyes inquisitive as he scanned over the other male “What are you doing here?” he asked curiously, not that he was complaining, of course, it was hardly a secret at this point that the dhampir enjoyed the celestial’s company, perhaps more than he would admit to out loud. Still weirded out by the ghostly light coming from the fallen star he jerked his chin implying he should follow the younger male into the practice room where there was overhead lighting turned on.

For someone who's been hiding all his life, Hanseol sure wasn't that subtle when it comes to making himself unknown to his other party. Partially due to his enigmatic faint glow underneath his skin that really makes it extra harder to sneak away without gaining any attention on himself. Being a celestial really is a troublesome thing for him. As he traced his footsteps silently, he went towards the room at the end of the hallway to see if anyone was there. Halfway there however, Hanseol halted on his steps before wondering why he was acting like someone who's done something wrong. “It's because you're technically breaking an entry without permission..” he told himself. Right, the intention never mattered, the actions did. The same rule that applied to everything else in the world.

But before he could resume his footsteps, he was shocked by a rather bright haired dhampir who just came jumping in front of him abruptly without any warnings given out. This caused the celestial to place a hand over his chest and backed away as he too, lets out a cry of surprise. “I'm sorry I didn't mean to break-” Up until he noticed who it was. There, standing before him, was the blue haired dhampir friend of his. Just the person he was looking for. His feelings were separated into two different sides; one of which was relieved that he's finally pinpointed the latter's direct location, and the other where he wanted to scold him for almost giving him a heart attack. But then again, was it really the dhampir's fault? Hanseol didn't come here uninvited. The fallen star draped a hand over Jae's hands to lower them since those held the twin blades, as the malevolent glint the sharp blade gave really intimidated him.”Uh.. Sorry. Maybe drop it away.. It gives me the creeps.” he mumbled dubiously.

Scratching the back of his head, the male gave the latter a sheepish grin that really didn't help his case if Jae was a random dhampir he knew nothing about. “Sorry for breaking in.. But I did knock earlier. I just thought no one was here. But I'm glad you were-- I've been searching all over for you.” Only realizing how he sounded, Hanseol cleared his throat a few times before piecing up better and more proper ones. “I mean- I was concerned. I was gonna visit you, but your roommates told me you weren't home and the library was empty. This was the last place I was gonna search.. “ Which was true, Hanseol was going to leave the search for tomorrow if he didn't manage to locate the dhampir. “You really do have bad roommates, I swear. One of them looked half-alive with the half lidded eyes.. The other looked like he was wasted 24/7. Can't imagine the time you went with them.” he commented, as he recalled the unimpressed looks he received from the two roommates of Jae's, when the celestial came visiting. What he got was a door slammed to his face. So much for hospitality.

“I didn't mean to scare you. I guess I can't help the light.” he mumbled under his breath silently, and he raised his hands up and glanced over to see just how bright he was glowing earlier. He was nervous and anxious, that resulted in his brighter glow than usual. “I look like a glow stick..” The pout soon made its way back to its respective owner soon enough. If you hear properly and carefully enough, it's also possible to hear a whimper emitted from the celestial, sometimes. Following the dhampir who led the both of them into a room with dim-lit space, he noticed it was the only practice area that didn't look all dark. Noticing the sweat formed from the corners, he asked if Jae's been practicing. “How long have you been here, exactly?”

Jae was always a bit of a scaredy cat, it was because he often acted on impulse before fully thinking things through and that meant he was constantly living in the moment and in his first impressions on things. Of course, him jumping out only caused the other male to jump backward out of surprise too which lead to them both just kinda staring at one another in mutual shock. The other male was the first one to break the moment, reaching his hand to politely request that Jae lower his weapon which Jae did without question, dropping his hands to his sides “Sorry, I thought you were a thief or something” he cracked a smile realizing how ridiculous all of this was, he lifted the hem of his shirt a little to tuck the blades back away in the holster on his belt “All this training has gone to my head” he explained with a shake of his head.

When the celestial admitted that he thought no one was here, Jae raised a brow suspiciously “So you thought the place was empty and wanted to have a look for yourself eh?” he spoke in a teasing tone, running his tongue over his bottom lip though he went quiet when Hanseol said he was looking for him. Jae grimaced as he realized that the other male had gone to his apartment and met his roommates “They are the actual worst” he admitted with a shake of his head “I know I can overreact to things sometimes but they both drive me insane on different levels” which is exactly why he hadn’t gone back there after classes ended today “I hope they weren’t too rude to you” he widened his eyes, realizing they probably had been which made him even madder at them. He studied the other male’s expression to try and gauge his current state of mind, he didn’t seem upset or anything, maybe just a little nervous.

Jae didn’t like it when others felt uncomfortable, that was what had turned him into such a goofball back in school, he hated to see people out of their element “Hey don’t sweat it, you wanted to find me, you found me, mission complete right?” he winked and reached out to squeeze the celestial’s shoulder, his eyes meeting his for just a few seconds, telling him that he didn’t need to be weird around him. “You look…” so absolutely breathtaking it leaves me speechless “Out of your element, is everything okay?” his brow furrowed a little in concern, the dhampir reached up to wipe a few beads of sweat from his own forehead before he laughed softly at Hanseol’s question, shaking his head a little.

“Too long” he admitted as he glanced down at his watch, Jae had a habit of always overdoing things, he was here way longer than he probably should have been and yet he still couldn’t find the will to want to go home “Hey stand back” he warned as he reached down to pull one of the blades out once again. Jae took a long breath before he threw the dagger overhand and it buried itself sharply in the target, just short of the middle of it. The dhampir made a little fist pump of celebration before he turned back towards Hanseol and smiled softly “If you have nothing better to do, we can always do a bit of that training we promised” whether Han stayed or not, Jae was probably gonna stay here at least another hour, but he wanted him to stay, he always wanted him to stay if he was honest.

“I admit I’ve been dying to see what you can really do with all that light” he spoke softly as he wandered over to the target and pulled the blade from the surface once more, he liked his weapons, they felt like an extension of his own self but it was only recently that he’d really been exploring the possibility of what he could do with them. Celestial energy, however, was like a wholly foreign concept to him, he had no idea of the lengths you could reach with it but he was curious to find out, was it simply offensive or could it be used for far more than that. “You don’t have to worry about anyone seeing you here, the walls are purposely mirrored to keep light inward” mostly because otherwise everyone outside would be able to see exactly what was happening inside the dojo at night and the ambassador didn’t want that.

Hanseol only offered a reassuring smile upon hearing dhampir apologize. “Don't worry about it. I would've thought I was a thief too, especially with the manner I used. Well, at least I didn't exactly do… tippy toeing..” it hasn't occurred to the celestial that those two words actually made him laugh because of how weird it sounded. Once the dhampir placed both blades away, he felt as if a weight was lifted off him. Intimidation does have its works, no? He had to admit though, Jae exuded a different air to himself this way. Somewhat tantalizing and enigmatic. He's already attracted to the latter initially, and now that he saw the side he only saw once during that eventful night, something told him that he has still yet to witness a whole Jaesung Moon.

“Hey, you're a dhampir, aren't you? All of this is supposed to be integrated in your DNA. Besides, it's cool.” Offering compliments to the blue haired male seemed to be a normal occurrence these days. There wasn't one day where he didn't shower the dhampir with one. It was almost a daily routine, even when he didn't see him directly. But then again, judging from the drawing he worked on the whole three days, he didn't need to see Jae just to get his gears going. Has Hanseol Part truly fell for this male? The 4 days didn't come close to him figuring out his feelings-- which has made the male very frustrated as he wasn't able to correlate with the foreign concept of ‘love’ itself. Not that he knew it was love.

Proving that point even further, the minute Jae inquired if he went searching for him, a slight pink hue emerged from his cheeks-- marring the celestial's chubby but sculpted face. Here he goes again, the two flirting and throwing flattery remarks between each other on daily basis, but now it was Hanseol's turn to get shy. “I just wanted to make sure you were alright.. You know, with me being out in the open after what happened.. “ he mumbled silently, barely making it audible. Truthfully, he still couldn't sleep well at night without worrying an attack similar to that will happen again, and it might impact Jae. That is the last thing he would ever want. The protective layer that shrouds him had grew over the past few weeks as he spent his time together with the dhampir. “I'm okay. Just a little bit shaken up and worried. Can you blame me?” he replied in uncertainty, the awkward air really making it harder for him to breathe.

“Well, I would be saying this for god knows how many times already, but a reminder is a reminder. You're free to come by or even move in at any time.” he winked playfully. His frivolous manner around the male had increased by at least 200% from the last time. He wasn't going to be defeated in this game of flirtation. If he was going down on the road, might as well make sure he's going to have the upper hand. That's how competitive he truly is. When Jae asked him to stand back, he complied obediently and took a few steps back, as he stared at the daggers being flunked towards the target. It embedded its claw tightly at the said target, which made his hues twinkle in mesmerization. “That's so cool.” Hanseol has never trained with a knife or anything sharp before, most of his defensive strategies seemingly comprised of hand to hand combat and staffs; anything wooden. He's never needed to hurt anyone, so he never opted to have any weapon that could bring about it.

“Well, I did come here to seek you out. Might as well make the best of my time, no?” He placed his backpack on the nearest bench and unzipped it, before taking off his outer wear and leaving him with nothing but a white t-shirt that clung on his body perfectly. The celestial didn't notice his sketchbook with Jae's drawing sprawled out in the open from the bag that he forgot to unzip. He didn't have enough time to flip it back so he ended up pushing the book where he originally skimmed the page on, inside the bag when he first hurried out of his place. Jae wasn't the only one who's been dying to see what he's able to do with his energy, over the past days since the incident, Hanseol had been trying it out a few times. It resulted in a few vases being broken and his animals scurrying off away into their rooms, but nobody's perfect, right? Well maybe with the exception of Jae, as the star truly did see the dhampir as someone perfect in his eyes.

Despite being hesitant, he nodded in agreement to what the dhampir proposed earlier. “I practiced it a few times.. Shattered a few vases.. Maybe a few plates. But I initially was just trying to conjure the energy up. After a while, I only found out that it takes all of this.” he exclaimed and pointed to his head. Similar to how his emotions affected his glow, the same goes for his abilities. “But I have no idea.. How to assert them in fighting.” And then returns the clueless bunny.

Jaesung laughed softly when the celestial spoke the words ‘tippy toes’ it just sounded incredibly endearing coming from the fallen star’s lips and caused a bright grin to take over the dhampir “Well I have really good hearing so even if you were I still don’t think you would have got past this room without a sneak attack” he laughed hiding his hands behind his face for a minute, he still found his own reaction to the whole thing really funny. Jae wasn’t actually sure what he would have done if it was a thief, you can’t just cut someone for trespassing after all. It didn’t occur to the male how he could look pretty intimidating with his daggers drawn until he caught a certain look in the other male’s eyes and smirked a little as he tucked the weapons away.

Jae chuckled and shrugged “If it’s in my DNA then my DNA is faulty cause I’m nowhere near the level of scary that some of the others here are” he had seen a lot of sparring matches here in the dojo and some of them were simply unparalleled when it came to knowing their weapons, he was pretty sure most of it was thanks to dhampir families typically training young dhampirs to fight from a young age, which was where his family differed, he didn’t come from generations upon generations of half-vampires after all. It was cool though, that much he would agree with, as much as he complained about being supernatural, what they could do was pretty awesome, Jae was particularly captivated by what a celestial could do, without much thought behind the fact it was pretty out of the blue he asked about it “Is it true that you can stop time?” the idea of it sounded weird as he spoke it but he was curious.

He had to admit it made him feel a little fluttery inside when the star said that he’d wanted to check on Jae, of course a part of him wanted to say something snarky about the fact that Hanseol seemed incapable of using a phone but instead he just smiled sweetly at the other male, it felt like every time he saw him he was just falling further and further into his pit of confused feelings, ones he was still trying to figure out how to deal with “None of what happened is okay Han” he spoke, his words gentle but honest, there was now always gonna be a small part of him that worried for the other male’s safety and he didn’t think he would ever shake that, whether they crossed the line they were both walking or not. He was glad to hear Hanseol say that he was okay though, even if he didn’t fully believe it “Of course not, anyone would be” he affirmed, his eyes softening, there was something about the celestial that just tugged at his emotions in a way he couldn’t describe, he cleared his throat realizing he was staring again “But that’s what we agreed to train for right? To feel stronger” or at least that was Jae’s main motivation anyway.

Jae chuckled, giving the dark haired celestial a knowing smile at his prompt, every time the two of them talked the dhampir was reminded of the offer Hanseol had made and there had been so many times he’d been tempted to just go ahead with it, but living with someone, especially someone who he liked, a lot, was a really big step to take and Jae was constantly wondering whether taking him up on it might make things difficult for the both of them, more difficult than it already was “I hope you know that one day I’m probably going to snap and end up at your door” he warned “again”, running his tongue over his bottom lip, there was only so many more drug inspections and stupidly late parties he was going to be able to tolerate and Jae was impulsive when it came to his emotions, at least when he was sure of them anyway. Shortly after he threw the dagger, he turned to catch the celestial’s reaction, he didn’t seem afraid like he had been earlier which was a relief “I always wondered…” he trailed off for a moment “You know, why daggers” he shrugged “And now things are starting to make more sense” he explained, something felt right about this natural aim and the weapon that had chosen him.

Jae nodded when the male agreed to the training, Jae went to retrieve his blade but as he turned he watched as the celestial rustled around with his backpack, Jae raised his eyebrows curious know why he was so furiously moving things around but didn't comment on it. The dhampir was dressed in loose fitting slacks and a long sleeve black shirt that was rolled up to the elbows with a red bandana tied around his head that was mostly to hide the sweat when he was training. His eyes scanned over the dark haired male, noting his muscular arms were now on show and how the white shirt he was wearing fitted against the curves of his body almost too well. Jae bit down on his tongue inside his mouth and forced his eyes to move away, he hadn’t thought about this particular part of the whole training thing and now things were way more complicated. He did his best to shrug it off, rolling his shoulders backward.

Jae took in Hanseol’s explanation of how it all worked and tilted his head thoughtfully, doing his best to keep his eyes from wandering he held the celestial’s gaze as he listened to the fallen star talk. “So it’s triggered by your emotions” he commented understandingly before he added to it “Any ideas which emotions specifically?” perhaps if they understand where the power came from then they could figure out how to harness it. Jae had to hope it was anger because anger was something he understood well and would also be useful in a fighting situation.

He never thought the day would come where he would finally see the dhampir as someone other than the person he was. At least, to the celestial's eyes. To Hanseol, Jae appeared as someone who exuded bright and positive energy, while still having a firm grip on his flaws-- that just honestly, made him a lot more ethereal than he originally was. He could find himself similar to the dhampir, with having a shady and difficult past that really doesn't correlate well with his current existence, and the side he chose to keep dormant, for fearing it might overpower him someday. And especially, now that he's had such a friend, he didn't wish to let that dark side resurface any time soon. Or ever, honestly.

But he had to admit, seeing the dhampir in another light really tempted his curiosity to know more about him. The enigmatic air that surrounded the male almost made it impossible for the celestial to evade. There was no use is trying to tell himself that he was attracted to the Korean. Because while he was still debunking all those theories regarding his feelings, he knew that it had something to do with Jae, and that it's not going away. So he'll have to deal with it. Maybe asking him to move in a space where they both wouldn't be able to avoid each other, was a low blow. That way, Hanseol probably couldn't control his emotions and feelings well since he'd be around the dhampir every time. Not that it's a bad thing. Not entirely. Hanseol could feed off the positivity his smile gives every morning and he'd thank the nature itself daily. That was how whipped he truly was for the dhampir. “I don't mind you turning up on my doorstep any day-” he had to stop himself from speaking further about that because he forgot to enable his filter switch on. Great.

Deciding to change the topic, he lets out a rather awkward laugh that somehow managed to come out as giggles. Surprisingly. “Well, practice makes perfect. You said so yourself that you didn't come from a family that trained themselves from a young age. Of course the others might have a few advantages over them, but overall, it doesn't dictate your skill levels. With enough precision, commitment and persistence, you'd get up there in no time.” Hopefully that's what they'll be going after. Because Hanseol really wanted to get a hold of his abilities soon, enough for him to use them to defend himself and the people he cares for, Jae,  without letting the fear and paranoia seep in no more. He's tired of feeling that way. It was time for a new she'll that he'll reemerge from. If he's gonna be a butterfly, at least there's gotta be a significant and sufficient amount of leveling up. He's going to be a protector, for his sake.

Hanseol found himself staring at Jae who still looked equally as attractive despite being drenched in his own sweat. He actually was. The bandana he wore around his head that enabled a sight over his forehead, really gave extra pointers to the look being completed. The all black on him wasn't really helping the fallen star from getting his breath hitched. It was ironic how he wore white and the latter, black. He really was trying to live up the embodiment of light itself, isn't he. But then again, he had a lot of white colors inside his wardrobe, it's almost impossible to find any other bright colors. “Most of the time, whenever I feel strong ones such as anxiety, fear, repression, anything that could overwhelm a person-- they usually became the trick.” he answered vehemently.

“I guess you could also categorize anger into it. If I'm going to train myself, I can't be surrounded by anxiety and fear all the time, right? It's good to be afraid sometimes.. But it'll definitely clash with the synergy.” The fallen star might not know much about the arts it derived from these days, but according to his studies in martial arts before, a person's will is one of the most strongest key points in controlling oneself. “I wonder if I could conjure them up and make use of it to balance in with the attacks. Deflecting is the first, but I really have no idea how to use it as offense.” Maybe he did try not to answer Jae's question about time, earlier. It's mostly due to the fact that it was the very root that made them a variable for bounty hunters. But he trusted him; enough to tell him everything. Besides, was he really able to refrain himself from denying him? That's a question he really didn't want answered.

“We were said to have such ability. It's basically the root of our existence. The ability to alter timelines, and time itself. We also seemed to have precognitive abilities.. Tactile ones. I don't know much about it, because I'll be honest. Most of my abilities only got tapped into when I wasn't even aware. And each time during the time I was under the influence of my own emotions.” he shrugged, and saw how dangerous it's almost them out to be. He wasn't sure what to do with such information. Being a supernatural creature was one thing. But being someone who others don't even know much of? That's another thing. “Everything has its own limits, but that's as far as I know of our celestial abilities.”

It made the dhampir curious, knowing there is a part of Hanseol that tended on thoughts of revenge and coldness, it wasn’t something he had ever seen even a small glimpse of, except perhaps in those moments he faced up to the therianthrope, but even then what Jae remembered was Hanseol being desperate to know the truth, in the need to be able to protect himself from whoever wanted to hurt him. It felt so different from the person he was coming to know, someone he found himself wanting to pull closer, someone he wanted to protect from everything that threatened him.

He knew that people were far more complex than what they showed on the surface, there were certain situations or emotions that could drag out all kinds of behaviors that most people buried. Jae could tell that the past still weighed on the celestial, he saw in the little checks he did over his shoulder when they were in public or how the fallen star tended to keep to himself, shutting out most everyone, or in the snark that laced his voice at times when he was caught off guard. But what Jae saw when he looked at Hanseol, was someone who so desperately needed a reason to stay, a person who wanted to fight for things but didn’t know where to start, someone who was creative and at times utterly adorable. Hanseol had so many layers to him and Jae found himself invested in knowing every single one of them. When he spoke about one day finally giving in to the other male’s offer, Hanseol’s reaction left him breathless, a soft smile gracing his lips “Good” he responded before letting the conversation drift.

The peal of laughter coming from the other male was endearing, the sound soft and melodic to the dhampir’s ears, Hanseol had such a pure and lighthearted laugh, especially when it was twinged with a little awkwardness and a soft blush took over his complexion. “Well I definitely think I’m improving and that’s all I can really ask for” he admitted with a modest shrug, Jae wasn’t usually one to big up his own skill set, he was of the mindset that there was always more he could learn, he constant wanted to work on improving himself  “Plus I’m nothing if not persistent” he admitted with a laugh, Jae could literally keep trying at the same thing forever if he believed it would get him somewhere in the long run “All in kinda guy remember” he reminded the male of what he told him before, how Jae was the kind to put his all into something.

The two of them stared at one another often, it became almost like a second nature to Jae at this point, he could remember details about the way the other male’s eyes looked even when they weren’t together and over the past few days he’d found himself thinking about Hanseol in those quiet moments, just before he fell asleep. But the way they were looking at one another at that moment was different, it couldn’t be chalked off to a cute action by the other or down to unexplainable feelings. The way Jae was looking at Hanseol could only be described as one of attraction to the fallen star’s appearance, something he had been denying he had since the two of them met. The star looked good in white, it suited his whole persona and the well fitting shirt didn’t leave much to the imagination of what was underneath. He swallowed, almost feeling a little nervous under the celestial’s gaze, wondering if he was giving away the things he was thinking by his actions.

Jae nodded as Hanseol explained the emotions that seemed to trigger his energy “And do you think you can conjure those kinds of emotions from a memory or does it have to come from the moment itself?” because if he could tap into it from a memory then it would likely be much easier to pull the power at will rather than only in situations where it was critical “Anger is a good emotion to focus on because it’s powerful but with the right push, it can be used for good reasons” he spoke that one from experience, he’d been to a lot of anger management classes when he was a teenager and while he’d always complained about going, he had learned a lot of useful things from it.

Hearing about what the male admitted to knowing about his own abilities, Jae was quiet, he knew it took a massive amount of trust to share this kind of thing because it was the exact reason that the celestial had reason to be angry or scared. But in order to help him with this, Jae needed to understand everything about what Hanseol could potentially do because then they could find ways to leverage those abilities. But it started with them finding out what they were and how Hanseol made them happen without it being an accident. “Sounds like there’s a lot for us to explore then” he stated with a nod, his gaze turning more stern as he got into his training mindset. He had to push past the fears he had of hurting the fallen star if they were going to make any progress.

“Well we’re going to get into it one way or another” he stated as he sheathed his weapon once more, he planned to do this hand to hand because he didn’t want to risk cutting Han with his blades, he’d experienced that wound for himself and he’d rather not inflict it on someone who didn’t deserve it “Alright, sunshine” he teased, a soft smirk on his lips “We’re gonna start with me potentially getting knocked on my ass or you getting punched” he chuckled softly and moved across the room, pulling the other male by the shoulder to the lines on the floor where a sparring ring was mapped out “No holding back okay, you have to find how you tap into this, which you won’t if you’re holding back” his eyes met the other male’s assuring him that he trusted him with this training session before he stepped back to his own mark on the floor.

With a long breath, the dhampir allowed his energy to shift, becoming absorbed in the fight mentality he had, in an instant, he moved into action, his movements quick and sharp as he started his offensive movements, his arm raising to aim a punch to the chest in the direction of the fallen star.

It was a lie if Hanseol has admitted there was no part of him that still lingered around the prospects of danger and destruction itself. Despite originating from such a light species, he wasn't stupid to know that most of his kind has been known for leaving destruction at their wake, sometimes. He remembered running away and leaving the countries and cities at the mercy of the people going after him. Just like that. Though it might not have been a result so directly from the celestial himself, it doesn't change much, not enough to shift the blame elsewhere. All those figments of memories started to rush into him a lot more frequently these days and he wondered if it was trying to tell him something. Was he about to be attacked again? Or was that just his instincts adrenaline trying to fuel himself away?

It was utterly confusing for him. But at least, he wasn't alone, this time. He had Jae, and that seemed to be more than he needed, now. The dhampir brought a new whirlwind of emotions embedding itself into the celestial and while it could mean more trouble for him and the dhampir equally, he couldn't help but to feel so encouraged by his energy and motivation. It was clear that neither one of them were going to leave one another. That alone was more than enough to reassure Hanseol, who's lived his entire life under the strain of not knowing what to do. He finally had a purpose to stay and stop running, and maybe, just maybe, a purpose to keep him going.

“You're already improving in a few days, who knows what level you'll reach after months. You said so yourself, you already have the persistence. All you need is a little more motivation to push you to your limits, once in a while. So you could test your abilities in a much more far-fetched scene.” Well, that certainly puts a ledge over everything else, seeing as it meant his own words would be eating himself the next. The fallen star had to remind himself to start switching on his filter unless he wants to be pushed into the unknown domains once again. Naturally speaking, he couldn't resist for two reasons even if he was forced into it; because the person who'll do that would be Jaesung Moon and he honestly had no self control when it comes to that dhampir, and he doesn't want to sound hypocritical, also in favor of the dhampir. Everything seems to come back to the blue haired male standing before his eyes.

“Hmm.. Definitely an all rounder. Look at how you're making me question myself..” he mumbled, making it as barely audible as possible, though he knew a dhampir's hearing could easily pick that one up. It was a standing that indicated his whirlpool of feelings just running around inside him, waiting for a trigger to unlock the Pandora's Box so it could be unleashed to the surface. He noticed the stares he received from the latter and quite honestly, he didn't mind at all. In fact, he might even like it. Hanseol was already attracted to Jae, and seeing all of those looks only further affirm his situation wasn't one-sided. What stays now, is whether it was unrequited or not. A lot can mean in that sentence. And while he does harbor feelings for the male, he didn't want to ruin their already established friendship. It was the only thing clinging on to his sentiments now. Nodding slightly, he agreed that there was a lot of bases to cover, since they have no idea the full extent of his abilities, hell, not even his minimum ones.

Watching at his doe eyes lingered on the daggers that were being kept away, he wondered if Jae was gonna go ahead with hand to hand instead. He wasn't being a narcissist seeing as the other is a dhampir, and he hasn't been practicing in defenses for a while, only exercising and working out. But he honestly didn't want to land a hit on the dhampir too. The dilemma was beginning to engulf him altogether.

He took note to that new nickname he received and the soft smirk gracing itself on the dhampir's lips, which truthfully made his breath hitched, again. Is he for real? Did Jae really want the celestial to use his energy on him, even when knowing it might potentially hurt him in ways neither one of them could comprehend? “When I said you surprise me every day, it's really a good thing, Jae. But I didn't mean this kind of surprise. We don't know what my energy would do to you. I know you're not trying to hurt me, so I won't be so fueled to defend myself, therefore I probably wouldn't be able to generate enough to do so.” he shook his head profusely, obviously going against this idea. The last thing he wanted to do was to hurt him.

Finding himself nibbling on his bottom lip, he was truly trying to make sense of the scenario that will take place in a few seconds. Was this really happening, oh god. He didn't even have enough time to think about conjuring up the energy needed to deflect the actions, so he opted for the much more safer one of the sidelines-- evading the punch like just a few meters away. “I don't think this is a good idea, Jae-” he didn't have enough time to actually talk because he kept evading the attacks as best as he could seeing as the dhampir is now in a fight mentality mode, which is far from what Hanseol was, currently. But he was slowly engulfed in a state of worry, which could be a trigger, with enough push.

Since meeting Hanseol, Jae had this feeling, or perhaps it was more of a worry, that one day the celestial was going to take off and leave. He’d heard the other male talk about his natural reaction to a fight, he’d seen for himself that Han was afraid to fight back or maybe that he just didn’t have anything to fight for and that very knowledge scared Jae because he knew one day he may wake up and the friend he had made was gone. That was the reason he so badly wanted the fallen star to begin to embrace the parts of him that could make him stronger, give him a chance against those who usually force him to run.

“Believe me, I have enough motivation” he responded without much thought behind the words, though his eyes remained on the celestial, because if Hanseol wasn’t going to fight for himself then Jae would be there to step in for him, just like he had the other day in the clinic. Sometimes Jae told himself that was something he would do for anyone but part of him knew he was lying to himself, he had this natural urge to want to protect the fallen star from the world, he had feelings for the dark-haired male that was new and deeper than anything he’d experienced with someone else. He felt himself becoming attached to the star, wanting to keep him close. It played on all of his personality, made him that little bit more reckless and that little bit more determined. “Now we just need to find yours” he directed the statement back on the celestial noting how he still seemed to be afraid of his own power.

Jae had to wonder what the other male meant when he said he was questioning himself, his brows furrowed a little in confusion but he said nothing, the comment had been made under the star’s breath and so the dhampir assumed it wasn’t something he openly wanted to talk about. It did make him wonder though if the other male was thinking the same things that he was, about wanting to give in to those instincts that made the dhampir want to grab the celestial and pull him closer, to erase all the space between them so that it was just them. The thoughts about what the other male would feel like in his arms and what his full lips would feel like against his. His own breath hitched as that thought slipped into his mind and he tried to force it away. It was so hard to control everything he felt when in Hanseol’s presence, whatever he told himself was best kept trying to fly out the window. “You and me both” he breathed a gentle sigh under his breath.

Jae knew that breaking this defensive habit that Hanseol had wouldn’t be easy, so while he had decided it was best to keep his weapon out of the equation, the dhampir had full intention on landing hits, not because he wanted to hurt Hanseol but because he knew the celestial wasn’t going to open himself up to the emotions he needed to by simple speeches and theories. Jae was a tactile person, he learned by doing something and something told him in this case, the celestial would be the same if they could just break through the fear.

Jae’s voice was stern and steady as he heard Hanseol try and back himself out of the idea “Han I saw you use your energy on that guy with my own eyes” he clarified, his dark hues not faltering from the other male’s as he raised his hands to get into a fighting stance “You didn’t vaporize him on the spot and if he hadn’t hit the wall he probably would have got right up again” his words were intense as he moved and then threw the first punch. Unsurprisingly, Hanseol went straight into defensive mode, moving so that the dhampir punched the air. Jae gave a grunt of annoyance before he went for another swing “I’m not afraid of what you can do and you need to stop being afraid of it too okay, I trust you” the words he was saying sounded out of place considering he was throwing blow after below in the celestial’s direction.

One of them had to be brave enough to see what would happen and the reckless part of Jae was more than happy to be the one. Jae reached out to pull the other male closer by his shirt, his face close to Hanseol’s his eyes meeting his “Fight back” he instructed, looking the other male straight in the eye, though he felt his heart beating more rapidly in his chest as he realized how close the two of them were and how this felt a lot like a certain situation he had played out in his head. He sucked in a breath, going silent for a moment as he looked back at the dark-haired celestial and then as quickly as the moment began he let go, stepping backward and resuming his fighting stance.

He took a moment to catch his ragged breath, his tongue sweeping over his bottom lip before he went in towards the other male again, this time with a kick aimed at the celestial’s legs, maybe he could through to him by knocking him down a few times and showing him that if the fallen star can get back up again every time then so can Jae.

Quirking his eyebrows in raised curiosity, he wondered what Jae meant by that. “Do you now?” he mumbled, strangely wanting to know where the dhampir got the sudden surge of confidence in him that would later fuel his motivational fire. He really didn't want anyone else to feel the need to protect him, especially when the celestial himself couldn't even protect himself, much less concern himself with yet another one. But weirdly enough, unlike the others, this was the first time he's felt such an attachment towards Jae. The significance Jae held over him was different, one of the kind type that Hanseol found himself wanting to shower in more. He knew the motive of having friends was that they would always stand by you in anything. But with the dhampir, it was slightly different. In so many ways.

If Jae felt the need to protect the celestial, then Hanseol felt the want to keep him safe. He might be the only person left in his life that he could hold on to, despite only knowing the latter for a month tops. You know the part where it's love at first sight and whatnot? Maybe this was it. Though the celestial would not dare to wander into those areas, fearing that he will find himself lost, once again. Upon hearing the dhampir talking about his motivation, he wondered if he'd find his own too. “Maybe it's you.” he mumbled silently as he cleared his throat. Maybe he is playing in his own delusional world, but who knows for sure? Neither one of them seemed to show their true affection to each other, so they wouldn't know. Not until, it was confessed. But that seems to be a long way.

The celestial wasn't stupid, he knew just as well as Jae does, that his catalyst wouldn't just be a few talks here and there. His mental needed more than just that, unfortunately.  Much to his dismay, he found what Jae said to be true. It really did mean that he needed to get himself down to the ground if there was any chance of playing into it. “Maybe he didn't vaporize because my hit wasn't strong enough to begin with. I told you, I never used them properly before. What if I accidentally make it lethal? I know better than to tamper or play with something so unpredictable--which is exactly what my energy is derived from. The complexity of unpredictableness and ambiguity itself. Every swing Jae threw, Hanseol only retaliated in defense. When he didn't fight back, Jae had a tight grip on his collar, which truly did surprise the celestial because he did not expect this.

Though he had to admit, the close proximity between the two has actually eased a part of him while also increasing them. He was incredibly anxious around Jae before, but now it's as if it enhanced tenfold. Training his dark hues on the dhampir's own, he could feel his breath hitched with every single second that passes. The moment he lets go, Hanseol faltered backwards slightly as he lets out a heaved sigh in return. Unfortunately, much to his chagrin, the dhampir seemed adamant in pushing the celestial off his grid. To motivate him. “If that's what you want.” It goes against every single fibre in his body to fight Jae, but he also knew he wouldn't stop until he completes the mission he set out to do.

While he was busy trying to tell himself that this could be fine with only a few minor injuries here and there, Jae caught him off guard when the dhampir suddenly swept him off his feet, literally. Hanseol fell and groaned before finding a way to get back up to his feet and brushed the dust off his shirt. His jaw clenched visibly as craned his neck slightly before setting his gaze on the dhampir. “I hope you know what you're doing, Jae.” he muttered softly, any trace of the person he was before was completely erased for now. There wasn't much for hostility in him but he knew the exuberant side was also not dwelling around. However, just because Hanseol calmed himself into the slightly surviving demeanor, doesn't mean he's changed. He was still stuck in his ways to rely more on defensive rather than offensive. So he did what he would've done any other day if the person before him was an enemy and not his friend. Taunt.

“You were the one who wanted to push me into this, so you're gonna have to do the first honours.” he chuckled. "Don't worry, I won't bite." Well at least now Jae knew where he got that cockiness to himself.

It was in situations like this that the dhampir’s inner confidence shone, Jae was in his element when it came to training and fighting, like a part of him took over that just knew how to handle things, he’d always had that instinct and he often relied on it when he felt like he wanted to curl away from the world. His motivations behind the things he was doing were more of a muddy ground, the dhampir was acting on impulse more than anything because sitting and thinking this through meant really accepting the things he wanted and that wasn’t a line he felt ready to cross yet. That was why every time the temptation came he did his best to push it away, pretended like he didn’t feel it; the celestial made that increasingly harder with every moment they spent together, however.

Jae knew he couldn’t live in denial forever, that one day he was going to either cross the line or put up a full barrier, he kept telling himself that the sooner that happened the easier it would be for him but somehow he still kept stopping himself. Maybe that was the doubt that the celestial would feel the same way as he did, maybe it was the fact that he didn’t want to accept what that meant for his own sexuality or even it was to do with what other people would think of him. Really it was probably a mix of all of those things but it was enough to give him doubt, pause on his actions. But when Hanseol said things like the words he uttered softly it sure did make Jae want to throw all those reasons out the window. Jae blushed a little from the idea of being someone’s motivation to fight though it was mostly hidden by the fact that his face was already red in hue from the training he had been doing.

Jae’s focus was on cracking this wall that Hanseol seemed to put up for himself when it came to who he truly was, his supernatural identity if you will. Perhaps it wasn’t the dhampirs place to do so but he knew long the fallen star had been alive and yet he still refused to truly accept what he was, someone had to do something about that. Jae gave the fallen star a look that spoke the words ‘really?’ when he further insisted that he was going to do serious damage “I believe all supernatural species have a certain level of balance when it comes to their abilities” he answered with a shrug “I don’t think light magic like yours is gonna be capable of that” maybe that was a bold statement to make and he would regret saying it, but he had a good gut feeling on this so he was going with it. Jae was light on his toes as he threw punches in the celestial’s direction, trying to get some kind of rise in him though it took him grabbing the fallen star by the collar for his seriousness to really sink in.

Jae knew he was treading unknown waters, he was fully aware that the celestial energy the other male harnessed may be more powerful than either of them knew but he also had this endless curiosity in him, he wanted to know and the only way that was going to happen was by breaking the wall and seeing what happened. His persistence seemed to pay off, the star finally giving in to what he was prompting for “I want you to get past this fear” he clarified with a bold tone “You are not going to hurt me any more than a normal training session” Jae was adamant with his tone, he wasn’t scared, in fact some could almost describe it as fearless when he got into this state.

And so yes, he did play the low blow as he swept at the other male’s feet sending him crashing to the floor, the dhampir flowed through with the movement, remaining on his feet as he looked down to Hanseol on the ground. Thankfully the fallen star responded by getting back to his feet almost immediately “Trust me, I have a good feeling” Jae spoke in response to the celestial’s doubtful comments. It was better that Hanseol learned the depths of what he could do in a safe environment where he wasn’t at risk himself right? If anything got out of hand they could tap out the moment it did. He watched as the energy in the other male shifted, the constant approaches from the dhampir causing him to fall into that fight or flight mentality.

What was unexpected was the smug words that came from the other male’s lips in response, though Jae took it all in his stride, though he had to admit that a small part found the demeanor that came over Hanseol pretty hot. Jae bit down on his bottom lip and then smirked a little at the challenging tone “You don’t have to tell me twice” he stated boldly. Jae didn’t hesitate as he moved towards the celestial, throwing another well placed punch in the male’s direction, he threw his weight behind it because he wasn’t quite as muscular as the other male and needed more force behind his movements “You should know I’m not going to stop until you show me some of that pretty light of yours” he prompted with a smirk.

And perhaps he did snap.

The energy radiating off Hanseol was a foreign one, and while there was no hostility within in, it was quite different from the one anyone else would experience. The faint glow in his skin was faint no more, as it took a high step on glowing a tad brighter than usual, and it wasn't even because of his fluttered state. No, no. This wasn't the celestial being highly shy or taken aback by the dhampir like any of his normal occurrences, it was still with the same person, but on a different level of scenario. There was no knowing for sure on how the scenario will play out. But one thing was confirmed for sure, Jae wanted to get a rise out of the star, and he succeeded. Flawlessly.

It also did not help that his feelings-- the ones he harbored for the male, was currently thumping inside, beating into his heart senselessly without a care in the world nor mercy. Once again, things were not going easy for Hanseol. Although he should've gotten used to them by now, he still had a hard time grasping on that concept. If anything, those heightened feelings got enhanced by another steep step and fueled the fires within the star to make sure the dhampir eats his own words. The competitiveness and cockiness in him just wanted to prove the dhampir wrong in so many ways. So to say Jae got the rise he wanted, would be a clear understatement.

“Oh come on Jae, you and I both know that there's no knowing what extent my abilities could run far to and this is why all of this is actually happening. For light creatures that we are, we sure do have a knack and talent in causing destruction in our wake. Trouble follows us. Surely, that has gotta mean something. Or at least, an affect will take its toll on to us. At some point.” he scoffed lightly, his voice accentuated with the tone of disbelief masking his anxiousness. “Just don't forget I did warn you before. If anything happens, it's on our own accord.” Notice he said our instead of his, because deep down, Hanseol didn't diminish. He only let the small side of his survivor mode take over briefly. But it did not delete him away from his own existence. A part of him will always want Jae to be safe and will always protest against such a reckless idea. Despite knowing the dhampir's pure and good intentions on doing this, he couldn't help but to still let his worries and woes wash over him like the strong waves of the sea.

“You always have good feeling. Have you met you? You're a literal fluff and optimism in the flesh. If pessimism had a love child with it, at least.” Of course he couldn't miss the chance to throw a snarky comment towards him. It was just their playful nature by now. To flirt, snark, and be sarcastic at one another. At least, it's a healthy cycle. And come on, the two of them liked the challenge the other provided. It's vice versa. They take pleasure in this way too much, it's surprising none of them admitted their mutual attraction to each other. “Maybe I'm not afraid now, but I have a feeling that after all of this-” He blocked the punch Jae was intending to send his way and swiftly twisted his arm behind him before pushing his towards the corner of the room. “Hanseol Park is going to come back and bite me.” Now where's the lie in that.

Following the change in the dhampir, he actually preferred the smirks. He can be straight for all he cares and he'd still find the blue haired male exuding a tempting energy that solidified his current stance, much less when he's obviously pinning for the latter. “You're having fun in this, aren't you? Getting a rise out of me.” he clicked his tongue a few times, a habit he often does whenever he found things annoying or highly amusing. He'd go for the latter now. “Who says I need to use them to take you down?” he winked playfully as the smirk still stands on its own, making its comfortable residency on the Celestial's face. “For all we know, I only need to let you do all the work and lie back while I watch you tire yourself out. I mean, I wouldn't mind. It's not everyday you see a hot guy sweating profusely while working out.” He kept taunting Jae asked he circled around, while making no advancements on any form of attack. “Just so you know, the only light you'd see will probably be your own. Or that light-” he exclaimed while pointing at the dimmed light that was only enough to light the small room. “-to be the last thing you see before I knock the living daylights-well nightlights off you.”

Stepping forward, the dark haired celestial tugged the collars of Jae's shirt, pulling him closer until there was only a few meters left of breathing distance between the two. "Go on."
