Collide (Open to Yeonseok, Hanseol, Jaesung and Daehyun) *Completed*

Four Months. It had been four months since Yeonseok had decided to take a chance on Hanseol Park. Yeon didn't know exactly what it was about Han that drew him in but from that day they had stuck quite the interesting friendship, mostly they just annoyed one another to death but it worked for them. For the most part, their meetings had been about trying track down the person behind the attack on Hanseol before they met, while Yeon hadn't been there himself he had managed to pry out of the celestial how worried he was for his own safety and the other celestials in the city and that had been enough to get him on board.

It hadn't been an easy investigation considering they had to work around Yeon's crazy and constantly changing schedule, he had seen more time on a plane in the past few months than he had in years before that, he didn't mind traveling but the constant flights with his travel sickness made things exhausting for him, work was slowly draining and considering he hadn't been able to get much relief lately he found himself getting pretty stressed and worked up over little things lately. He had become more and more snappy with the people around him, especially Han who was probably the person he talked to most, he did his best to rein it in when he found himself doing it but it was hard when the other male liked to talk about his significant other often and how happy the two of them were together.

Don't get Yeon wrong, he was happy for Hanseol and his significant other who he'd managed to get the name of after much pushing, Jaesung. Just because he didn't believe in the idea of love for himself didn't mean that he didn't think other people deserved happiness, it just kept reminding him of the fact that things were...difficult in the intimacy department right now. Since he had met that damn snowy-haired blond who had quite literally blown his mind and even now he still hadn't managed to pick up all the pieces. That wasn't Hanseol's fault though so he tried to control his aggravation around him.

But they had, in the time they had known each other and spent together, become pretty good friends, they talked about everything really, it didn't feel like there was a subject that was off limits between the two of them and some of their discussions got quite in depth and heated. Yeon had been pretty majorly involved in encouraging Hanseol and later helping with the expansion of his business, he had gotten the chance to look into how well the clinic was doing in Evermore and make suggestions on how to improve the place. They had many long car journeys together back and forth between Denver and Evermore on the weekends Yeon had free so that the blond valkyr could give input. But really it was also an excuse to spend time together and talk.

Having someone share his mind in a small part unfolded differently than he was expecting it to, he definitely thought he had taken up some of Han's tendencies to worry about other others more and despite not being particularly interested in animals before, he suddenly found himself wanting to stop people on the streets and ask to pet their dogs. The pain thing was a bit of an annoyance because the two of them weren't exactly gentle with themselves, especially when it came bedroom activities, it was hard to know what could be a real danger and what was simply collateral damage. Still, they had agreed on a certain spot on their body to use to communicate if they were in real danger, Yeon's was his right wrist, somewhere he could easily pinch but not somewhere he would typically feel any pain.

He honestly felt like having a Volakiri had been a good thing for him, it forced him to let someone in, he'd already learned pretty quickly that he couldn't lie to Hanseol, or rather, he could but the star would almost instantly be able to tell the insincerity in him. It wasn't without its challenges, they argued a lot because they had quite conflicting personalities and Yeon often pushed Hanseol to come out of his shell which could backfire if the star was feeling especially shy that day. It happened when they were around a lot of strangers usually. Han was stubborn too when his mind got onto something it was very hard to change it or make him see any different. Yeon was getting used to those traits in his friend though, he learned how to ease into topics with the star and to compromise. Most of all though, he found himself caring about the celestial. caring that he was safe and well, interested in hearing about his day or how things were going with Jae, invested in another person, which was very unlike him considering he never really let anyone in. With Han that felt easier though, maybe because they were linked now or maybe it was because he thought the celestial was a decent person.

He was tired as he made his way through the airport, passing through immigration and handing over his papers before collecting his suitcase from the turntable and headed out to the exit. Normally he would get an Uber or taxi back to the studio after a flight and get a nap in but Han had been texting him about some new information he'd found just before Yeon had gotten on the plane and blond had suggested they talk over what he found over a coffee once he got back into Evermore, which then became picking him up from the airport. He knew how much Han actually hated driving, most of the trips to Denver, Yeon had driven but the airport was only about a 30-minute drive from the city. When he got into the arrival lounge his eyes scanned through the crowd of people before they fell on Han, looking a little lost and grumpy at the back of the crowd.

Yeon shuffled his way through the people dragging his pretty compact suitcase behind him before he threw his arm around Hanseol's shoulder "Try not to look like someone just kicked your dog" he commented as he pulled the star along with him a half smile on his face. Despite the long flight and still feeling frustrated as hell, he was glad to be back in Evermore and this time he actually got to stay for a few weeks, the prospect of his own bed instead of hotels and not having to get up at 6 am to go to the airport was enough to tempt his mood to the brighter side. Plus, despite the fact he had just gotten off a plane, he looked good, dressed in black skinny jeans that fitted him perfectly, paired with a white button up and a red blazer, his hair was still it’s usual sandy blond color that he had kept for quite a long time now, he pulled his sunglasses out of his pocket and put them on, already noticing it was bright outside "Alright, I need coffee and I need it now, otherwise I will actually pass out" the valkyr stated leading the way even though he had no idea where Hanseol parked the car.

He likes Yeon’s company, he’s the kind of guy who’s afraid of challenges because he didn’t want to try something new if that meant he might lose what he has currently, and both his boyfriend and his Volakiri encouraged him a lot, successfully molding the state of the guy he is today. He’s proud that he’s learning and growing. “Now I want to do a lobotomy session on you, pretty sure there’s more to this that’s ingrained in there” he tapped on the valkyr’s temple, flicking it twice harshly without hesitation. “With this hard shell for a vessel, no wonder you haven’t forgotten anything yet.” Hanseol had basically called him a hard-headed and stubborn guy, but to each of their own, seeing as the celestial is just the same. No wonder they matched up well. Hearing Yeon bringing up the word karma, he gave the blond an offended look.

The fallen star is always a believer, so it’s not surprising to see him acting that way. It did subsequently cause him to clamp his mouth shut, so pointers to Yeon. The last thing he wants is losing Jae, god no. A simple contrast to his words, Yeon never lived up to it, where he was advising the star to man up and prompt Jae into moving in when he himself, is living like any rich bachelor. Shaking his head at the blond, he lifted up his chin slightly and huffed. “I can’t believe you just compared actual living beings to business, you really are a cutthroat businessman.” Nothing wrong with that but knowing Han, he’d always find the humor in the irony like finding a needle in a haystack. “You really need to interact with more people, and you know what I mean by that,” Admittedly, Hanseol could be considered as a hypocrite here, since he hasn’t been talking much to other people if he didn’t need to, but hey, someone needed to push the valkyr into caring for others.

The fury masking his boyfriend’s features scared the living daylights out of him, that’s one thing for sure. Much like what his Volakiri would’ve known, Hanseol doesn’t do well when he’s under pressure, it’s known. Even Jae knew, but given the current predicaments, it’s more than understandable if he forgot for a moment. It is the celestial’s fault, to begin with, after all. He started all of this mess, and he needs to end it, or it’ll be a lot messier. Whenever Han is distressed, he kept everything pent up inside, which meant not a single word would be uttered. Nothing that resembles a verbal interaction between two beings or more. The last thing one would do at the moment is to push him into telling when he clearly is having a hard time comprehending things in his head. Until he calms down, the fallen is still very much prone to panic attacks considering his traumatic history when it involves such situations.

It is more likely to have him sprint out because he couldn’t handle the tension filling the air, and since it’s robbing him of the sufficient air he needed to breathe properly, much less to start talking. While he was busy calculating the possibilities whirring in his head on how to start this explanation stage, he was a little too late, because the next thing he saw was Yeon getting sucker-punched by the blue-haired dhampir. A few seconds later, the aftermath of the effects came delivering to Han, who widened his eyes a lot more as he touched the exact same spot where Yeon was hit at and winced. The stinging sensation burns and he felt bad that Yeon had to get the sour end of the blade, all because Hanseol was a coward who couldn’t muster up proper words to explain to Jae, hell he should’ve never lied or hidden the truth from his boyfriend, in the first place. He promised no more secrets with Jae, but what’s happening now?

Even if his choice of words weren’t ideal, the fact that his Volakiri still tried to save him from the situation by sacrificing himself. The guilt began to dig a big hole in the celestial as he choked on his own saliva. What was worse was that he was so close to rush to Yeon’s aid when he recoiled back from the punch, successfully taking everyone’s attention. Jae would never forgive him if he had done that. He swore his heart dropped when he heard his boyfriend telling him to not come near him, backing away like he was a disease. Following his wishes, the star bit his bottom lip and backed away a few steps guiltily. Thankfully, Daehyun held Jae back, because he couldn’t handle it if the two sparked a full brawl against one another.

The pale-haired male’s words rung venomously and the star flinched involuntarily again. He felt so weak for not being able to prevent this, no, he felt pathetic. Yeon is also telling him to spill the truth before this got worse, so he’s going to do just that. He owed it to everyone. “I met him a few months ago, just before Valentine’s Day. My Wayfinder arranged an alliance between our two factions, and he…,” he stopped himself to get a few seconds of a breather before meeting Jae’s eyes. Of course, he’s a dhampir, he would’ve heard about this. “He’s my Volakiri.” Hanseol is disappointed in himself for evading this for months long, especially when he explicitly said there are no more secrets between them.

Jae rolled his eyes at Daehyun, the Niveis had a strange sense of humor which he found himself both loving and hating at once, he really was an interesting guy to keep around, always very passionate about the stuff that actually interested him and very nonchalant the rest of the time. But he was a really good guy to have on side and would look out for you, when he wasn’t the one giving you bruises anyway. Still, it kinda made Jae a little mad to know that so many people had probably passed Dae in his life and never gotten to know him, because the icy male was one of the best people he had ever met and he deserved better than that. He’d really helped Jae to feel like he belonged here in Evermore, along with Hanseol. Together they had made him want another future for himself, one he had begun to put into action, one he was planning on telling Hanseol about this evening.

And that plan was still the main thing on his mind was Hanseol had walked into the cafe unexpectedly, everything had started going downhill from there, the excitement he was feeling fading away the moment he saw the blond male who he instantly knew was going to cause him trouble. His emotions moved from confused, to angry, he found himself unable to get a handle of them as they ran away with him and he started to become the side of himself he hated. The side of himself that he had always worked so hard to swallow down and pretend doesn’t exist. He had been getting so good at biting down his anger, channeling it into another emotion but there was something about the blond and this whole situation that completely set him off and Jae lost control.

He threw his whole weight behind the punch and he wanted it to hurt, he wanted everyone in that room to hurt just as much as he was in that moment, he wanted them to know what it was like to be the idiot in the dark who just waited around for people to stop taking advantage of him. If it wasn’t for Dae pulling him off he would have completely launched himself at Yeon and he wouldn’t have held back either. His breathing was ragged as he stayed there, he fought against the Niveis at first until his senses came back to him and he realized where he was and what he had just done. He heard Dae’s calm but direct instruction to calm down and did his best to get control over his breathing, it wasn’t the first time Daehyun had seen him lose control over his temper and the other male knew how to handle him.

And he appreciated the pale-haired male for calling them out too but Jae’s eyes were affixed on Hanseol, just after the celestial came towards him and asked about the bruise on his face, he noticed that the star was rubbing at his nose as though it was in pain, his attention moved to Yeon who was holding bloodied tissues to his nose and his mouth dropped in shock as he realized what he had just done. Seeing all the people staring at him around them. Jae’s face turned red from the sheer shame of him letting his temper get the better of him again, this wasn’t healthy, this wasn’t right, he shouldn’t be feeling like this about someone right now. His expression showed confusion for a few seconds before it finally clicked for him and he gasped, looking between them with angry tears forming in his eyes. He knew what the truth was now and he didn’t want to hear it.

“Don’t say it Han” he warned the other male the moment he started talking, it was too late for the truth now, he already knew what he was going to say, the dhampir’s voice faltered as he heard the celestial say just before Valentine’s day, just before he told him that he loved him, he was letting another man share blood with him. His heart sank in his chest and it hurt, God did it hurt, it was like everything he’d said about how personal blood sharing was for him went in one ear and out the other, not to mention that Hanseol had kept this a secret for months. It all made sense now, the hesitance about the trips to Denver, the long hours where Jae had no idea where the hell his boyfriend was “Don’t fucking say it” he spoke as he met Hanseol’s eyes and then he did.

Everything just felt like it collapsed. It felt like he’d been living a lie for the last month where he thought the two of them were in a better place, he thought they were finally past this, finally trusting one another so this just stung all the more knowing that it had been months and the star had promised him no more lies. Jae looked over to Dae with a weak expression and shook his head, he couldn’t stay here, he needed space, he couldn’t breathe. The Niveis seemed to get the hint and let him go. He gave Hanseol a disappointed look, stood in front of him as though he was going to say something and then his emotions got the better of him and he dashed for the door to the cafe and out onto the streets of Evermore.

Daehyun was used to all the judgments he’s received, none of which bothered the niveis the slightest bit. Perhaps, he’s a bit shameless, or maybe the act of caring had dissipated so long ago after he allowed himself to give the world its one more attempt into making it more interesting. While he did not gain the same satisfaction he sought out for, the friend he found in Jae was priceless, something he could never label a price tag on. He was already so over-protective, but when it comes to the dhampir, it had significantly risen after a few months. Just when he thought Jae would pass by as everyone else did, he didn’t; in fact, he stayed behind. The elder Stormwind was touched that he stayed behind, and despite not saying it in words, he showed how thankful he was, pretty well.

Today was all about helping Jae sort out his feelings into place, and maybe he wasn’t the best when it comes to love, since the older male didn’t have the best experience, well, he doesn’t really have one. He likes supporting Jae, the dhampir showed a promising future. He should’ve known good things don’t last long, as awful as that sounds, it’s just how the world operates. Eventually, you’ll get tested, and unfortunately, today was Jae’s day to be evaluated. Harshly. His icy gaze may be fixated on the blond valkyr rather than the celestial that cowers timidly, following Jae’s harsh tone as he questioned his boyfriend. If it was up to him, he would’ve just grabbed the collars of Hanseol’s shirt and shake the sense back into him, since it seems like he’s freezing like a statue, unable to speak one word without stuttering like an idiot.

It made Dae roll his dark hues at the star, clearly annoyed by how he’s acting. That was until the blond decided to be himself, whoever he was, and asked for the worst possible answer from the blue-haired male who’s fuming like hell. The snowy-haired niveis could almost pinpoint the outlook on Jae, how those fumes of anger and rage are slowly starting to increase per second. It didn’t seem like it was going to die down soon and it worries him. The way he had thrown the punch towards the valkyr, it was fully reckless and was a movement made purely out of emotional strength, one Jae probably never knew was in him. It evoked a satisfying crunch the moment it collided with the smug valkyr’s nose, evidently breaking it, for sure.

As a triumphant smirk crept up to Dae’s face, he narrowed his dark steely hues at both males in front of them while he held Jae back from throwing more punches. At first, he struggled against his hold, which prompted the niveis to grip firmer, not allowing a single loophole in allowing the dhampir to sneak past the tie. “You’re stronger than this, Jae…” he mumbled, rubbing one hand on his side as he stepped forward, shielding the younger male slightly on the left side. “There’s nothing to witness here, people. Get back to your daily nonsense or get out.” His tone was perfectly clear as the day, they can either stay and mind their own business, or they can fuck off.

Now, Daehyun didn’t know what the term Volakiri meant, he didn’t have the slightest idea what it means, but judging from the guilty look marring Hanseol’s face, and the way Jae teared up, he had an idea of what it could mean. And let’s just say, it’s not exactly cooling himself down by just thinking about it. Whatever those two did, it broke Jae’s heart and Dae was going to start breaking actual things if they didn’t make it up to the poor dhampir. He gave Jae an equally confused look when the dhampir turned to him but knew better than to ask him, especially in such a situation. He needed space, so Dae gave a firm nod and a thin-lipped reassuring smile before releasing his grip on him, only to watch as the other male walk out the cafe. Well, dashed out, more like.

Less than two seconds, the celestial was gonna run out after him, and surprisingly, with a disapproving look, he actually allowed the brunette go but retained his icy glare on the blond who is still holding on to his injury, which would no doubt heal. “You, you’re not going anywhere until you explain to me what the fucking hell is Volakiri and what the fuck did you do with Hanseol. Are you making that guy two-timing his own boyfriend?” Taking a seat like nothing just happened, he beckoned for the valkyr to sit down too. “Sit. Down.” And boy, he was not taking no for an answer, he would break his legs if the valkyr refuses.

Yeon frowned at Hanseol, the star always teased him but he did his best to always take it light-heartedly, honestly, Yeon didn’t let a lot get to him, he was usually pretty neutral when it came to the people around him but there were a few exceptions, people who managed to worm their way under his skin and make him care about what they thought. And once he cared, it wasn’t like the valkyr to let them go. He was protective over his friend, especially when it came to the soundness of his mind after being attacked and the paranoia that had followed, he did everything he could to be on Hanseol’s side through everything. The star wasn’t wrong, he didn’t let a lot of people in, didn’t want to risk them being able to let him down if he was honest, he did better alone, always had. But lately he felt a shift, letting Hanseol in had been good for him and he wasn’t able to get Daehyun out of his mind no matter how much he wanted to, so much so that he’d just resigned himself to the fact by now, four months, it felt like a very long time.

Yeon had to wonder if he was the only one here who wasn’t falling for Jae’s intimidation routine, he got it, the guy was pissed because he didn’t understand what was happening and didn’t like being lied to, but threatening people like that wasn’t the way to handle this. Perhaps he had too much faith in the dhampir’s abilities to control his emotions, it seemed that Jae was a little childish in that way, acting on impulse rather than thinking about what he should say or do. He’d grow out of that with time the valkyr was sure. Hanseol, however, didn’t seem to learn from his mistakes so easily, the star had tried to lie to him several times in the past, assuring Yeon he was okay when the valkyr knew he wasn’t but Yeon didn’t take his crap and always managed to get the truth out of him, he supposed that maybe Jae wasn’t one to push and that’s why they were in this current predicament.

The moment he felt the hit against his nose, the pain spread throughout his face and he cursed under his breath just because of the sheer force shocking him, it was a really well delivered and powerful hit, he praised in his mind before wondering why the hell he was praising it. The blood made it look a lot worse than it was though, a streaming nosebleed starting because of the pressure that had been placed on the weak vessels. He grabbed the napkins and held them to his nose as he pinched on the bridge. He winced in pain from the action because he could feel the break already, but being a valkyr, he simply needed to set it back in place and wait for his healing to kick in.

Yeon stood by as the drama unfolded, warning the bystanders to mind their own business because the last thing Hanseol needed right now was a bunch of eyes on him, he was hoping the celestial would be brave enough now to finally tell the truth and then this could all be over with. That was probably wishful thinking he had to admit. People did avert their eyes when the grumpy Niveis warned them all to back off though, much to his relief as he set the bloody tissue down on the table. And Hanseol did finally manage to get some truth out, but it seemed Jae had already figured it out for himself. Yeon let out an exasperated breath, he couldn’t fix this one for his Volakiri, keeping secrets tended to always end up with a situation like this.

His eyes moved between Daehyun who was holding Jae back and Han before Jae eventually ran off out of the cafe. The valkyr released a breath he hadn’t realized he’d been holding and watched as Han ran off after him. He was debating going too, not because he wanted to watch them talk it out but because he didn’t particularly want to face the pale-haired male who was giving him a cold and pointed glare right now. Yeon didn’t move, how was it possible for someone to look that hot when they were angry? It really did go against the laws of nature, he cursed in his mind as he heard Daehyun speak. The word ‘you’ chilling him to his core as he moved his eyes to focus on anything but the Niveis.

He was half tempted to make a run for it and yet against all his better sense when Daehyun told him to sit down, that was exactly what he did, he cursed himself for the power the other male held over him even four months later, the Niveis didn’t even know it. “So you don’t know who I am huh?” the valkyr asked as he glanced at Daehyun, tilting his head to the side a little and completely ignoring his questions from before until he was ready to answer them “Was I that forgettable” he teased with an amused arch of his brow, it was very hard to intimidate Yeon, he wasn’t the kind of guy who let himself be pushed around “And do you mind losing the f word, it really doesn’t suit you in this setting” he admitted as he looked up to meet his eyes and then sighed because Dae was still looking at him expectantly and waiting for answers.

“You really think I’m that guy?” he asked with raised brows, okay he had a bit of a reputation for sleeping around but he was a guy of honor and respect, he would never do something without full consent to do so and he never set out to hurt anyone. It definitely offended him that anyone would think that of him. He sighed rubbing at his nose softly before he scolded himself putting his hands on the table "I knew making a friend was going to bite me sooner or later" he muttered softly under his breath more to himself than anything.

No one else other than his boyfriend and his Wayfinder had taken the liberty to care for him, even his co-workers ignored him most of the time these days. Meeting Yeon, it added one more to his rusty friend list, and he knew it was the best decision he ever made, aside from telling Jae he loved him. With Yeon being a constant at his side, he was able to see wider and explore new things, it was one of the main reasons why he was able to open another branch in Denver, in the first place. If Yeon didn’t advise and push him into doing so, he would’ve stayed in that lane and just remained stark. Even if he was a lot more sarcastic and snarky with the younger male, he admires how mature Yeon was and wouldn’t trade their friendship for anything, period. It’s one friendship he could never see himself severing and it’s not just because they’re connected to one another at being Volakiri. He’s a likable person and influencing Hanseol with his constant bubbly cheerful appearance, it’s a good mix and combination.

Seeing the intimidation air surrounding his boyfriend, it’s something he’s never witnessed before. Sure, the celestial witnessed one or two episodes when Jae allowed his anger to control him, but since the dhampir was careful not to show it in front of him, it’s very rare to find them, and it’s never been this… huge. But now, all he could see was a thick cloud hovering above the blue-haired male who looked so furious and would actually bite Yeon’s head off if he continued talking. It scares him, but most of all, it worries him.

They’ve been on such a happy path for the past months, and he didn’t want to screw it up by telling him he shared blood with another male, knowing fully well just how intimate that gesture meant. It just doesn’t go well with the star to be telling his boyfriend that, especially when the person he initiated such a bond, is someone like Yeon, which is not necessarily a bad thing but given his slightly suggestive and forward ways, the insecurity would also play in their relationship. The couple was insecure, and they knew that. This is his fault, of course, he knew that.

Hanseol told Yeon not to worry when it comes to telling Jae about their bond, but now, look where that’s led him. Stuck in this mess that he first made. Now, it’s up to him to find a way out of this without anything occurring, which is a direct message of saying with no one getting hurt. A little too late when Yeon received that punch delivered by none other than the most pissed off person in the cafe; Jae. He didn’t even realize he had involuntarily shuddered and held the same spot his Volakiri got hit, it felt warm and it’s burning, but was nowhere near the pain Yeon must’ve felt. His guilt just turned tenfold now. And what else manipulated that? Oh yes, when Jae dashed out of the cafe.

He spared one glance towards his Volakiri, as if telling him that he'll make up for his injury, but first, he needs to settle this properly. He couldn't lose Jae, god knows how crazy he'd go if that ever happens. Without wasting a second, he was already stepping away and was about to exit the place so he could run after his boyfriend, only to be shielded by Daehyun. With a pleading look, thankfully, the niveis allowed him to pass. The way Jae teared up while pleading for him not to say it, he could never get that look out of his head, ever. His heart dropped and he felt like the whole world just crushed him with its weight. And the worst thing was that the celestial had made no attempts to get away from it because he knew he deserved every backlash.

Fortunately, the dhampir didn’t manage to get that far, well, that’s because the celestial sprinted like hell to catch up and when he did, wrapped his hand around the male’s wrist, successfully halting him on his steps abruptly before pushing him to face the star while both hands held on his sides. “Jae, please, let me explain, I can explain...I’m sorry for keeping this from you, but please don’t leave me, I can really explain this whole thing-” He sucked in a deep breath and his eyes wavered wildly, trying to even his breathing pace but would not allow the dhampir to escape his sight. “Please baby, don’t cry...” he pleaded, his throat compressing the air, causing the fallen star to let out a whimper-like squeak. Han couldn’t handle seeing him upset, tear up, much less cry. It broke his heart and he couldn’t imagine how broken-hearted Jae was upon hearing that news. He shouldn’t have lied. You reap what you sow, Han.

The moment that Daehyun let him go he just wanted to get out of there, he couldn’t handle seeing all those people staring at him, judging him and he couldn’t be in the same room as Yeonseok any longer now he knew the truth. He exited the cafe, looking around from left to right and trying to decide where to go, he just wanted to be alone before his emotions got the better of him. He avoided eye contact with everyone around him as he decided to go left and ended up down an empty side street alley. He stopped for a moment, his breathing erratic as he let out a cry of frustration and punched hard against the wall, so much so that he recoiled back from and his fist bloodied up a little. It didn’t make him feel any better but it did help him to get his mind in place.

Hanseol hadn’t cheated on him with the blond valkyr, he knew that much, but the way he had hidden it like he had all this time, paired with the very thought of the other male drinking blood from his star was tormenting him. Perhaps if he was in a more rational mindset right now he could understand and deal with the latter but the former. They had talked about this more times than he could count now, he had given Han his space to feel ready to tell him things, he had done everything he could to be supportive and not push him too far and he really thought they were finally getting to a better place, he thought this chapter was over and they’d moved to a new one.

But it became evident to him now that Hanseol had just gotten better at hiding things and if he was hiding this for months then what else was he capable of hiding, what else didn’t Jae know. It made him angry because Hanseol had known this whole time that Jae had issues with insecurity and the idea of his boyfriend being more attractive than he thought he was. Not to mention the fact that Jae had for the longest time been afraid of sharing blood with Hanseol because he didn’t want to hurt him and he wanted to make sure the two of them were a sure thing before he crossed that line and now to find out this whole time that Han had already shared blood with someone else while the two of them were dating and didn’t think he deserved to know that.

His thoughts began to consume him and those tears that were threatening to spill did now, his hand trembling and stinging from the two punches he had given with it. He took a shaky breath and went to move forward just as he felt a hand wrapped around his wrist. His heart froze in his chest for a few seconds, he’d know that touch anywhere, he didn’t even need to turn around to know that. But Hanseol pulled him around to face him and Jae’s other hand moved to wipe at his face as though he could hide the fact he had been crying “Explain this?” he asked in a stressed voice “What’s there to explain Han, you lied to me, again, just like you do every time” he responded angrily as he stepped back to put distance between the two of them.

“But I guess the joke’s really on me for thinking we were finally past this huh?” Jae shook his head from side to side “And the worst part about all this is that he knew my name before we even met” he sniffed a little as he tried to hold back the tears “So he gets to know who I am and I don’t deserve to know about him for four months? Tell me how I’m supposed to feel about that” he prompted with a stern gaze “Were you even planning on telling me?” he knew he was talking too much and not letting the celestial get a word in edgeways but he was just so angry and upset, it was hard to go from thinking you meant everything to someone and feeling ready to take a massive leap on them to feeling as though your relationship had been nothing but a lie.

When Han told him not to cry he looked back at him, he hated seeing the celestial upset, always had and always wouldn, he wasn’t some emotionless brick wall like Yeon seemed to be “Then don’t give me reasons to cry” he exclaimed, his voice breaking as he spoke it “All I have ever asked of you is to be honest with me, I have been begging you for it for months” he stopped for a moment taking long and shaky breaths which were threatening to become a sob every time he thought about the whole situation they were in right now.

He didn’t care what others thought of him, and he never will, nothing about today would change that. But did he felt his usually cold heart wrench at the sight of a teared up upset Jae, who’s been nothing but a good friend to him for the past 4 months? Yes. He had sworn it before, that he would break and hurt anyone who would even dare to even think of upsetting the blue-haired dhampir, but never knew it would be his own boyfriend. The culprit was Hanseol himself, and Daehyun knew this was why he didn’t even want to even reconsider the prospect of having love because it’s not real and even by some miraculous event, that it is, it’s temporary and wouldn’t last as long as most thought. It’s just how things go. Nature says so, and he’d learned not to put too much hope on things because of it. He wasn’t saying Jae’s relationship with the celestial wasn’t real because judging from the way he’d told the niveis about Hanseol, it was clear and evident that the dhampir loved him with all his heart and might, it actually sparked up jealousy from Dae.

The elder Stormwind had long wished to get something as near as that, but to no avail, it’s just not for him. Not in his past life, and definitely not in this life. Watching him dash out with his eyes threatening to spill those precious tears, the niveis couldn’t help but allow a frown crease his features and bit his bottom lip. It didn’t take long for the celestial to come running after him. Hopefully, they’ll be able to sort things out, because he couldn’t bear to see an upset Jae, the poor boy didn’t deserve it. Whatever it was, he just wanted to see a happy smile on his face again. At first, his thoughts were clogged up with the couple until he averted his gaze as it fell on the valkyr who he would not let out of his sight.

Oh, Yeonseok Lee is not going anywhere. Daehyun let him go once, and he is not going to do that again, purely because he wants to get some things settled between the two of them and to know what the hell just happened. If he wants an explanation, then he’ll get one. That’s just how demanding and bossy the niveis is. While the blond tried to place his eyes on anything else but him, it elicited an amused scoff from the snowy-haired male. Is he for real, now? Of course, it also didn’t take long for the valkyr to follow and take a seat across him, the same seat he was supposed to take next to the celestial earlier. Before everything blew up. “Really? That’s what you have to say?” Why is he so amused by the valkyr’s question though? It feels like he’s compelled to find everything about the blond attractive, from head to toe.

It also doesn’t help when he’s looking drop dead gorgeous as usual. Then comes around the teasing drawl that riled him up, causing Dae to ball up his fist from under the table and clench his jaw involuntarily because he’s affected by it. No, don’t let that sweet saccharine-like melodic voice trick you, Daehyun, no way in fucking hell. Shaking his head as if to get rid of any other thoughts he had regarding the valkyr, he narrowed his dark hues towards him, clearly not having as much fun as the other male is. “No, you’re not forgettable, if anything, that’s why you’re here too and not out. You’ve been a constant in my head that it’s really annoying.” Technically, it was annoying, but did he like it? Maybe. “But that’s a topic for after this,” Arching a not so amused brow at the valkyr, he truly is one of the kind.

“Lose the f word? Seems like the only time you would have me utilize it is when I’m using it physically on you, no? You’re interesting, aren’t you.” Back to the topic, they were supposed to talk about, it’s increasingly hard to focus when his head kept going back to that night. Fuck him and his attractive and hard to resist self. “To be honest, I don’t know what kind of guy you are, Yeonseok Lee. The only thing I know about you is your name from the card, and that you just messed up my friend’s relationship and riled him up. Who the hell tells the boyfriend that he’s offered the partner a few times to do you-know-what, are you really stupid as to rile him up like that?” Surprisingly Dae did comply and stopped the usage of the f word. “On this day of every day too...when he’s already made plans to tell Hanseol everything about it” With one hand massaging his temples, even he was frustrated by the whole thing. “Again, you haven’t answered my other question, mosquito. Volakiri, what is that.”

Yeon was cursing the fact that any one person had this effect on him, it wasn’t something he had ever experienced before, normally he would spend the night with someone, part ways and never think about them again but Daehyun. Daehyun hadn’t left his mind since that night, not in some ridiculous, I have feelings for him way. But because he was just so damn good. Every time that Yeon had been with someone since the other male’s face had come to his mind, like he could feel the way he touched him, the way he spoke his name and then the moment would feel ruined, because it wasn’t him and therefore wasn’t good enough. He hated the power that gave him more than anything and it was frustrating the valkyr no end.

“I’m just saying you didn’t help matters either” he pointed out with a nonchalant shrug and reached a hand up to run through his hair, his face was actually already feeling somewhat better, he didn’t know whether that was the shock or healing but he didn’t mind either way, at least it didn’t hurt as much as it first did. “I tried to tell you it was a misunderstanding but” he shrugged a little and sighed. As he looked up at the pale-haired male though he noted the way he was looking at him, scanning his eyes over his body clearly affected by his presence too. The valkyr felt a little smug for that despite the fact he did his best not to really show it to him though he did thumb over his bottom lip absentmindedly.

A small tug of a smirk crossed his lips as he saw the Niveis clench his jaw, honestly, he was just glad he wasn’t the only one here who felt that way and he was somewhat amused by Daehyun who was clearly trying to hold onto anger while being conflicted with other thoughts. He was shocked at the honest answer Dae gave him though, so much so that he went quiet as he processed the words trying to figure out if he’d missed some snarky joke that was supposed to be hidden in there. So it really wasn’t only him. He let out a frustrated breath, he didn’t know if that made things better or worse. Yeon always told himself to keep people at arms length, try everything once but never more than once and yet his body was currently telling him to quite literally fuck the rules “Honesty, that would be a first this afternoon” he commented but let it slide, a topic for after this Dae had said and he would respect that.

Yeon picked up his now lukewarm coffee and took a sip of it only to choke on it yet again when the other male bluntly implied that he wanted him to fuck him, the blond set down the cup and cursed the damn stuff, no more coffee for him after this trainwreck of an afternoon “Interesting is definitely one word for it” he responded and quirked his brow a little suggestively, he quite enjoyed the fact that the other male was trying to be harsh with him but didn’t seem to be able to do it because he kept getting himself distracted. Now the other male was talking to him relatively politely he felt more inclined to actually want to answer his questions, the blond leaned back in his seat and pursed his lips “Yeah well then don’t pretend that you do” he spoke with a roll of his eyes “Hanseol isn’t good under pressure and I didn’t want to be the one to tell his boyfriend the truth, okay, that would have been so much worse” he didn’t expect Daehyun to understand, he didn’t know Han the way Yeon did “I was just drawing fire, besides I heal fast, it’s not a big deal” thankfully it had stopped bleeding anyway.

He paused as he heard Dae speak about the importance of the day and sucked in a long breath “You mean he finally decided to make the move?” Yeon clicked his tongue “Damn” he commented but the truth was Jae would have been mad about this however it came out and at least it had been Han to say the words in the end. When Daehyun reiterated his question this time Yeon met his eyes “It’s a bond” he spoke softly and then when Dae gave him a judgemental look he rolled his eyes “Not that kind of bond” he added in a grumbling tone “It’s something between celestials and valkyr, I guess it kind of makes me Hanseol’s protector” man it barely made sense to him even now “Hanseol’s a friend, a really good friend, but it’s not like that, never would be, have you seen the way he looks at Jae?” no one had ever looked at him like that.

When Jae left the cafe abruptly, Hanseol lost all of his senses in trying to even speak another word, how could he? His boyfriend, the guy he’s madly in love with and wouldn’t trade for anything else, just ran away from him, him. How does that make him feel? Like a hopeless utter fool for not seeing what would happen had he kept this a secret any longer. Han should’ve just told him the truth the moment he initiated the bond, no, even if that’s a bit too early for the two of them, the least he could do was tell Jae every bit of the truth he held back on that day where he literally promised and swore to never hide a single thing ever again from him.

It was supposed to be a day of closure, where they were both able to give each other the reassurance that nothing is bothering them anymore. But no, what did he do? He kept it a secret, either way, regardless of the consequences that would follow afterward. So, here he was. Chasing after his guy because he didn’t want to lose him, no, he’s not going to lose him, right? The quiver in his whisper made it clear that the celestial is not going to survive this if this huge truth would have ruined their relationship. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. By the time he got there at the lone and empty alley that had only the dhampir and the celestial, he saw the frustrated look marring his delicate features when he turned him around to face him.

Even though Jae tried to cover and wipe all those stray tears away, he wasn’t stupid, he could see it was there. Hearing those words stabbed him over and over again like he didn’t know what he did. He knew, but hearing them come out from his mouth made it sound like he just killed someone, and he felt horrible about it, just as he should. As he allowed his gaze to fall on the pavement, his hold on the dhampir faltered and loosened for a brief moment when Jae made attempts to have a distance between them both, which hurled another attack into his already affected heart. This felt way too hurtful, the way Jae had distanced himself from him like he was a disease. And surprisingly, by respecting his wishes, Han made no attempts to move to close any distance between the two of them as he sucked in a deep breath. “I-I didn’t mean to. I didn’t want to lie to you, I was going to tell you, but I was afraid of how you’d react...Like,” he choked halfway and coughed, trying to clear the space clogged in his throat.

He’s having a hard time trying to form words, much less proper sentences. The pressure didn’t leave him and he was nowhere near calm too, but he needed to do this. Hanseol didn’t want to lose the best thing that’s ever happened to him, the best person who’s ever graced his life; the celestial wasn’t ready for that. “-like this…” Finally. “I was scared of how you’d think of me. You’ll see me in a different light and I don’t want that...I was selfish, no I’m still selfish. Because I sure as hell don’t want to lose you, not now, and not ever.” Was he desperate to end this dispute? Of course. But he was making it clear to Jae that he was not going to let this go, either. The fallen star will own up to his mistakes, but he is not going to let go of Jae.

Shaking his head rapidly as he denied the dhampir of his remark earlier, the way his eyes were slowly getting bigger and was on the verge of tearing up, Hanseol was not kidding when he didn’t even want to think of the thought of losing his boyfriend. “No, it’s not you. It’s never you, it’s me. I kept this from you… I wasn’t trying to make you out like a fool, it wasn’t my intention!” he exclaimed, his breath jagged and feeling tired all of sudden. His head is whirring with so many possibilities of the dhampir leaving him and it’s eating everything else up there. When Jae prompted for him to ask how he’s supposed to cope knowing fully well that Yeon knew about him but he had no knowledge about the blond, the celestial fell into a hole of silence. He couldn’t answer.

“I was going to tell you...I did. But the timing never worked out,” his tone was hollow and it felt sorrowful like he just got back from a whole road of nightmares per usual and was in a sleep-deprived state. The moment he heard Jae telling him not to give him any reasons to cry is when that cord broke. The tears that had been welling up started to fall. “I’m sorry..” Was all he could say because despite wanting to explain everything, nothing about it was justified. He could’ve prevented this, he could’ve prevented Yeon being punched, but no, he didn’t. He’ll have to live knowing that.

Though the distance between them was still there, it didn’t stop him from wandering his gaze on the blue-haired male, until it fell on his bloodied knuckles. “Jae, did you hurt yourself.. Baby, you shouldn’t do that!” He tried to step forward so he could see the damage the dhampir had done to himself but halted like an emergency button because he was supposed to respect his choices in keeping this distance so it felt halfway done. It was because of him, which send one more slash back to his heart. “I-I... “ However, before he could even muster another word, he started to hiccup; a sign that unless he calms himself down, he’s not going to even be standing in the next 5 minutes.

Jae hated crying, he hated people seeing him weak, his father had always told him crying was for when you were alone which was exactly why he was searching for space, he wanted to put as much space between himself and what had caused him to feel like this. When Jae was young he had always been the one to run off whenever he got upset, spend time alone and feel better, his siblings and parents never ran after him so he wasn’t really expecting anyone to come after him. So letting Hanseol see him cry, that was hard for him and he was doing his best to try and cover it, he wiped furiously at his face but that only made it redder and more aggravated. He was ashamed, ashamed of the fact that he had lost control back there, ashamed to be crying in public. He attempted to calm himself and stop the tears from coming, he could face this without falling apart right now.

Frankly, Jae was getting fed up of hearing the excuses “Yes you did mean to” he spoke softly with a shake of his head “You knew that this would hurt me and you kept it from me” he spoke matter of factly as he looked back at the other male, there was no skirting around this anymore or pretending like this problem was going to fix itself. It didn’t matter what Hanseol’s reasons or explanations were, he had once again decided that keeping things from Jae was the best way to handle it. And yes, maybe Han was right, he would have been upset about this even if he was told the day it happened but he would have been able to swallow his feelings about it if he’d been given the truth up front. Did it mean he’d like Yeon, no probably not but he would have handled this because he knew a Volakiri was something good for Hanseol. Now the very idea of it all just made him sick.

He could see the way that Han was getting himself worked up over it all and hated being the reason for his panic, still, Jae knew he couldn’t keep playing this game, he couldn’t keep asking the star to tell him the truth and then getting upset when that wasn’t what he got in return, the dhampir had reached his wits end with swallowing down his feelings because Hanseol needed space. It had been four months, the two of them should have figured this out by now. He really thought they had, that’s why he was putting so much effort into finally being able to live with his boyfriend, finally making that leap he’d been promising him for months “Maybe I would see you in a different light but we would have figured it out” he stressed with a sad look in his eyes “We’re supposed to be partners Han but he knows more about you than I do” maybe he was a little jealous now because it seemed like Yeon got more of the real side of the celestial than he did.

Jae didn’t mean to make him more distressed, he didn’t want to hurt him, even when the star’s actions had hurt him the last thing he wanted to see was him upset but if they didn’t have this discussion now then they’d be having it in a week or a month’s time and Jae wasn’t sure he had the strength to experience this all over again “Well it must be me because you don’t lie to him Han” he snapped before he realized what he said and pressed his lips together. He didn’t want to feel jealous, he didn’t want to feel like there was someone in the way of the two of them but now it did feel like that and because of the way he had found out he was afraid it would always feel like that.

He was half tempted to start pacing up and down from the sheer frustration of it all, with every new explanation he just found himself feeling more resentment towards the blond valkyr and more and more like the whole past month had been a lie. “There’s no right time for this but waiting until I found out for myself wasn’t it Han, I told you a month ago that you didn’t need to lie to me, you should have told me then” he just kept tripping up on the idea that there could be more he didn’t know about too. He felt like he barely knew Hanseol right now and that was a bitter feeling that made him feel sick to his stomach. Looking back as Han as he started to cry he couldn’t stop his own tears from falling “Sorry isn’t going to fix this one baby” he admitted as tears fell. He couldn’t take this one back, he couldn’t take the pain Jae was feeling about this away, at least not right now.

Jae shamefully hid his hand from view the moment that Hanseol looked at it, embarrassed by what he had done to himself and he took a long breath, his face turning red from the shame he was feeling about it all “I know” Jae choked as he took an exasperated his breath “I’m not proud of the person I become when I lose control okay” he admitted his eyes moved to the floor “I’d rather take it out on a wall than….than…” he choked over the words remembering what he had done back in the cafe “Someone” he felt awful but he also didn’t want to apologize, not after what that guy had said to him and how he’d made him feel in front of all those people. Noticing that Hanseol was shaky and panicky, Jae moved over to the wall of the alley and slumped himself down onto the floor leaning against it and he looked at the other male suggesting he take a seat next to him. After a moment he pursed his lips “We shouldn’t be making each other feel like this” he admitted as he rested his head back against the wall.

Much like the valkyr, Yeon wasn’t the only one who’s been having a hard time dealing with this...problem. That’s one way to phrase it because, in all honesty, it is, a problem, in so many ways more than one. Daehyun knew this wasn’t the whole having feelings for the guy kind of vibe surrounding his pathetic ass for 4 months long, no, he’s established and made it clear every time, that he absolutely doesn’t believe in love, or even the idea of it. This doesn’t change a thing. What’s with him, however, was nowhere near ‘feelings’ or whatever people call it these days, it was more on missing the way he touched him, and the way his touches lingered on his body after that night.

Ever since that particularly memorable night, the niveis had not been able to get any pleasure from anyone else, not one. Not even one person measured up to the valkyr and was what really annoyed him since he had to go on for 4 months long without any form of losing himself up to the clouds per usual. There have been a few unprecedented visits to the bar over the months, or anywhere else. Hell, he even tried to test the waters by actually forcing himself to venture into one club, which ended up with his attempts being futile when he wasn’t able to satisfy himself anymore that exact same night. That was when he knew, it wasn’t them, it was him. And that damn blond that would not escape his head no matter how hard he tries to focus on other things, namely how he’s going to keep on living without feeling tied down to one place.

Unfortunately, after three months of testing out a plethora of ways to get rid of that, he gave up and did nothing for a month, which came to today, where he finally saw him again after long. Rolling his dark hues in an annoyed manner, he huffed and blew a few stray strands of his pale hair that was covering his peripheral vision. “Could you blame me? I mean, no offense, but have you seen you? And you literally told Jae that you offered Hanseol- you know what, I’m not even gonna try.” He held both hands up only to bring them down as soon as he gave up in trying to make sense. There was no motive in trying to do this, either way. Yeon was actually like a stone wall, which gave him this weird urge to actually punch him to see if he actually does have feelings. It really is hard though, trying to focus on that matter while his head is busy occupying the other place he really wasn’t supposed to venture now. Not now.

The valkyr wasn’t helping with that damn thumb just brushing his lip which evoked a heaved and aggravated sigh from the snowy-haired male. “Can you stop with that.” God, he hates him. He really hoped that he didn’t suffer alone because that would have made him feel a lot better, now he would never usually wish that kind of torture upon anyone else because even he is not that heartless, but for that valkyr? Sure, no problem. It’s only fair that he too, notice the loss. His gaze was still fixated on the devilishly good looking blond sitting across him and smirked when he saw how he was struggling with drinking the beverage because he choked on it. “Aw, what happened, no more coffee for you?” he mocked, crossing both his arms as he leaned further against the seat. Oh god, is he being suggestive right now? Unbelievable, he thought. The more frustrating part is that Dae wasn’t actually complaining. If anything, he’s more amused.

“I want to punch you so I can break that nose again and see if I can elicit any emotion out of you,” he exclaimed bluntly, following the shock on Yeon’s face upon finding out that today was going to be the big day. How oblivious can one be? “You did say you heal fast, so I assume one more to equalize it wouldn’t hurt, right?” No matter how desirable the male is in front of him, he still wished to punch him for hurting Jae. He does heal fast, so it would not make him feel that bad. Once again, he held both hands up in defense. “I didn’t say anything,” he grumbled equally as annoyed as the other male was. Okay, maybe he didn’t say anything out loud but inside? Definitely. Now that he’s finally got a grasp of what Volakiri is, he arched a questioning brow and pondered. “No, I don’t know how he looked at Jae, because this is the first time I’ve ever seen him so… I don't’ know what kind of person he is, neither do I know what kind of person you are.”

It was frustrating to him, having the very reason he had suffered for the past 4 months in front of him, half of him wanted to take him anywhere but here and get so lost in him that he could finally feel something again and the other part wanted to stay exactly where he was, this was far more complicated than just wanting some guy. It was wanting some guy that he’d had sex with before, that never happened for him, he was always okay with moving from one person to the next until he’d experienced the most mind-blowing night with the pale-haired male. Not to mention that he didn’t imagine either Jae or Hanseol would exactly approve of any of this. He shouldn’t even be thinking about it, he scolded himself with a shake of his head, where was his self-control?

Yeon took a moment to try and figure out what he meant by have you seen you “As flattered as I am that you think any man would fall at my feet, Hanseol actually seems to really love Jae” the blond shrugged his shoulders “I wouldn’t know much about whether that’s true or not because I don’t think love exists but” he valkyr was pretty honest with what he believed, he’d told his lovestruck friend several times but each and every time he’d ended up with some sappy argument with the celestial which left him more confused than anything. Yeon rolled his eyes at Dae when he dramatically said he was giving up on making sense of it, it made perfect sense to him, he was protecting his friend, Dae was protecting his friend “Can we agree that none of us handled that situation all that well and move forward?” he drummed his fingers on the countertop a little as he watched him.

Yeon didn’t even realize what he was doing with his thumb until he heard Dae ask him to stop and he furrowed his brow trying to figure out what he’d done wrong now before dropping his hands into his lap and tapped his fingers against each other. The tension he could feel between the both of them was almost uncomfortable, he thought to himself as he shifted in his seat a little still eyeing the other male. God, he was just as stunning as his imagination remembered him, pale wispy blond hair which was unruly and sat in every which direction and deep piercing eyes that just captured you and made you feel completely breathless. It was unfair for someone to look that good and it made it almost impossible for Yeon to remember his one and done rule. He was reminded of it when the other male jested at him though “I never liked coffee anyway, seems it doesn’t like me right back” he retorted in a half joke in an attempt to calm the situation a little.

The aggressive statement from the Niveis actually managed to get an amused chuckle out of the valkyr who had to double take him to see if he was actually being serious, it was kinda hard to tell with Daehyun if he was being snarky or sincere, in this case, Yeon didn’t care to risk it because he’d experienced enough of the other male to know his punch would hurt a lot more than the dhampir’s did “So what?” Yeon quirked a brow “We screwed once and you think that means you get a say on how I feel about things?” Yeon questioned with a confused look on his face, he actually felt quite a lot of things, he just wasn’t great at showing them, in his line of work and with the parents he had..you didn’t show emotion, emotion was your weakness. “He’s an idiot” Yeon responded with an exasperated sigh and leaned his head in his hands.

“But you probably would be an idiot too if you spent all your life not being able to trust anyone” not that it really excused it considering how Han talked about the way he felt about Jae but he did understand his mindset a little, bury anything that might have the potential to hurt someone because you were too afraid to lose them, he wasn’t going to spill too much about his friend to Daehyun, as attractive as the guy was and how easy it would be to give in to temptation with him, Han was his friend and he would prioritize his friendship over everything, it was one of the best things he actually had in his life. “As for me, I’m a guy who cares for his friend, even when he’s probably making a stupid mistake he’s gonna regret” his eyes drifted to the door and his eyes showed concern as he wondered how the two of them were getting on. He swallowed, he was tempted to go and look for them but also knew that was probably a really bad idea “I’m also quite touchy, easy to mistake for sexual desire I suppose but it’s not like that with him”.
